Funeral arrangements for Bettye L. High, 62, of Neches and formerly of Tyler, are pending at Emanuel Funeral Home.
Mrs. High died Sunday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.

Charles V. Pierson

Services for Charles V. Pierson, 70, of Grapeland will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Elkhart with the Rev. Floyd Petersen officiating. Burial will follow in Pilgrim Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster, Grapeland.
Mr. Pierson died Sunday at East  Texas Medical Center in Crockett.

Raymond Lanier Fletcher

Services for Raymond Lanier Fletcher, 80, of Palestine, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Fields Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Fletcher died Friday morning at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 10, 1921 in Anderson County to Albert Franks and Mindie Langston Fletcher.
Mr. Fletcher was a self-employed mechanic and a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Mae Beasley Fletcher, in 1958; and infant son, Stanley Mark Fletcher, in 1958; a son, Raymond Earl Fletcher; three brothers, Otis Frank Fletcher, Melton Fletcher and Andrew Fletcher, all of Palestine; a sister, Nellie Batton of Rayne, La.; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Chad Fletcher, Mark Fletcher, Todd Fletcher, Donnie Larkin, Clifton Fletcher and William Fletcher.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

William H. “Bill” Mims

Services for William H. “Bill” Mims, 77, of Latexo, will be at 3 p.m. today at Milligan Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Perry officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster, Grapeland.
Mr. Mims died Friday at his home.
He was born July 16, 1924 in Houston County to Riley and Jewel Hamm Mims.
Mr. Mims was a retired truck driver and a Baptist. He was affiliated with the Masonic Lodge in Dallas.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin Mims and Henry Mims; and a sister, Stella Brimberry.
Mr. Mims is survived by his mother, Jewel Mims of Rusk; son, Harold Mims of Rowlett; daughters, Ann  Taylor of California, Trish Samford of Gilmer and Jeanette Samford of Corsicana; brother, Joe A. “Boss” Mims of Rusk; sister, Wyncie D. Befford of Colorado; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Iva Ailene Grant

Services for Iva Ailene Grant, 82, of Elkhart, will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Guiceland Cemetery with the Revs. Butch Grant and Barney Walker officiating. Burial will be in Guiceland Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mrs. Grant died Friday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 17, 1920 in Houston County to Davis O. Denson and Molly Brown Denson.
Mrs. Grant was a Baptist and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clint Grant, in 1994; and a daughter, Sarah Edwards.
She is survived by daughters, Martha Bayse of Itasco and Iva Crawford of Elkhart; sons, Marvin Gil of Clarendon and Butch Grant of Elkhart; sister, Loye Rudenbaugh of Tomball; brother, William Denson of Pasadena; 27 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Davy J. Hobson

Services for Davy J. Hobson, 68, of Grapeland will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Muse Baptist Church with the Revs. Tommy Caskey and Gary Luker officiating. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.

Mr. Hobson died Monday in Tyler.
He was born Sept. 20, 1934 in Palestine to W.M. Hobson and Carmen Chasten Hobson.
Mr. Hobson was a graduate of Slocum High School and received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Sam Houston State University.

He taught school for 34 years and had been retired six years from teaching. He was ordained as a minister at the age of 17; held his first revival when he was 14 at the First Baptist Church of Wells; and pastored many churches throughout the years.

Mr. Hobson had resided in Anderson County for the last 20 years.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Martha “Mart” Ford Hobson of Grapeland; sons and daughters-in-law, Davy Dawayne Hobson and wife Sharon of Tyler, and Davy Rase and Leah Hobson of Grapeland; five grandchildren, Jessica Hobson, Dakota Hobson, Ladye Marie Hobson, Jayton Hobson and Jeron Hobson; brothers and spouses, the late Chass Hobson and wife Mae of Talco, Burl Hobson and wife Rita of Crockett, Don Hobson and wife Katy of Grapeland and Bill Hobson and wife Robbie of Grapeland; sisters and brothers-in-law Bill and Laverne Boon Schultz of Houston, Bo and Gayle Ford of Tyler, Coy Lynn and Peggy Ford of Pollok, Dub and Dian Steritt of Corpus Christi and Gary and Lisa Ford of Pollok; and nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Corbin, Nathan Dyess, Raymond Fletcher, Don Hutton, Steve Lane and Reid Smith.

Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the building of Muse Baptist Church, 2579 FM 228, Grapeland,  Texas 75844; or the Hospice of East  Texas, 4101 University Blvd., Tyler,  Texas 75701.

Betty Ann Mitchell

Services for Betty Ann Mitchell, 78, of Grand Saline will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bartley Funeral Home in Grand Saline with the Rev. Rodger Garbs officiating. Burial will follow at Haven of Memories in Canton.

Mrs. Mitchell died Sunday at a Palestine nursing home.

She was born May 30, 1924, in Ben Wheeler to Bertis and Lois Cole Adrian.

Mrs. Mitchell was a graduate of Van High School. She lived in Grand Saline for more than 50 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Saline. She was retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a clerk. She was a member of Pairs & Spares Sunday School Class at the church and a longtime member of Athena Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Jack Mitchell, in 1972; and daughter, Amanda Ann Mitchell, in 1989.
Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her mother of Grand Saline; sons and daughter-in-law, Michael David Mitchell of Arlington, Va. and Dr. Joe and Brenda Mitchell of Palestine; brother, Jack Adrian of Flint; grandsons, Graham Mitchell of Austin and Paul Mitchell of Longview; and great-grandson, Logan Mitchell of Longview; and many other relatives and close relatives.
Pallbearers will be members of the Pairs & Spares Sunday School Class.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

June E. Turner

Services for June E. Turner, 49, of Fairfield were at 10:30 a.m. today at Capps Memorial Chapel in Fairfield with the Rev. Wayne Flowers officiating.
Graveside services were at 3 p.m. today at Pine Crest Cemetery in Troup.

Mrs. Turner died Sunday in Tyler.

Virginia Aline Moore

Services for Virginia Aline Moore, 86, of Palestine, and formerly of Irving, were at 10 a.m. today at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving with the Rev. Bill Hamilton officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home of Irving.

Mrs. Moore died Saturday.

Virginia Lee Hilton

Services for Virginia Lee Hilton, 84, of Oakwood will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Buffalo Funeral Home of Buffalo. Burial will follow at Oakwood City Cemetery.

Mrs. Hilton died Monday at her residence.

James Harold Baugh

Funeral arrangements for James Harold Baugh, 86, of DeSoto, and formerly of Palestine, are pending at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.

Mr. Baugh died Monday in DeSoto.

Florence Miller

Funeral arrangements for Florence Miller, 86, of Palestine are pending at Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.

Mrs. Miller died Monday at Cartmell Home for Aged.

Walter Leroy Cook

Services for Walter Leroy Cook, 75, of Magnolia, were at 10 a.m. today at Klein Funeral Home in Tomball with Charlie Middlebrook officiating. Burial will follow in Decker Prairie Cemetery under the direction of Klein Funeral Home of Tomball.

Mr. Cook died Saturday.

He is survived locally by son, Dr. Ronald James of Palestine.

William David Young

Services for William David Young, 57, of Rice Lake, Wis. and formerly of Jacksonville, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Beall Chapel Baptist Church in Jacksonville with the Rev. Ken McEachern officiating. Burial will be held at Providence Cemetery in Jacksonville under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home of Jacksonville.
Mr. Young died Thursday at his residence.
He was born Jan. 8, 1945, in Jacksonville.
Mr. Young graduated from Odessa Permian High School in 1963. He entered the Army in 1965 and was honorably discharged in 1967. He was a sales representative of real estate for 17 years and retired in 1998. He then sold chemicals for State Industrial Products in northern Wisconsin. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Rice Lake.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Mr. Young is survived by his wife of 11 years, Terry Young of Rice Lake; sons, Kent Differt, Cory Differt and Brandon Young, all of Rice Lake, and Brian Young of Odessa; daughters, Michelle Jenkins and Stephanie Monti, both of Odessa; mother, Lagunia Brown of Palestine; sisters, Vicky Reynolds of Jacksonville and Marilyn Neel of Palestine; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be David Reynolds, Curtis Reynolds, Steve Neel, Clifton Thrift, Ron Decker and Mike Birdwell.
Honorary pallbearer will be Zachary Woody.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Virginia Harding Liles

Services for Virginia Harding Liles, 85, of Baton Rouge, La., will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Moore officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery.
Mrs. Liles died Sunday at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital, Baton Rouge.
She was born Jan. 2, 1917 in Palestine.
Mrs. Liles was an educational secretary and a member of University Baptist Church in Baton Rouge.
She is survived by sons, Thomas E. Liles of Keller and John William Liles of Baton Rouge, La.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Emerys Edward Foster

Private services for infant Emerys Edward Foster were held March 17 in Lufkin.
The infant was stillborn on March 11.
The infant is survived by parents, Tonie and Edward Foster of Nacogdoches; grandparents, Sherry and Rick Wise of Grapeland; great-grandparents Patsy and W.J. Powell of Bandera and Sybyl Wise of Palestine.

Roy Glenn Mays

Services for Roy Glenn Mays, 46, of Slocum, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Slocum Union Church with the Revs. Todd Chapman and Jimmy Petty officiating. Burial will be in Crawford Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Mays died Sunday afternoon at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 7, 1955, in Palestine to John Elward Mays and Juanita Murphey Mays.
Mr. Mays was a Methodist. He graduated from Maypearl High School in 1973 and had been employed as a truck driver for T. Byrd Cattle Company.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Judith Butler Mays, on Nov. 9, 1992; his father, on July 25, 1985; and a sister Cindy Mays, on Jan. 6, 1987.
Mr. Mays is survived by his wife, Kim Gray Mays of Slocum; his mother; daughters, Melody Holloway of Houston and Cindy Jo Mays of Slocum; sons, Clayton Mays and John Jacob Mays, both of Slocum; sister Jenny Cunningham of Slocum; brothers Johnny, Ronny, David and Danny, all of Slocum; and one granddaughter.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Byrd, Danny Jackson, Les Spear, John Mark Matthews, Roy Stanley, Gary Langston, Denny DeMoss and Tommy Allen.
Honorary pallbearer will be Willy Hilliard.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Garry D. McAdams

Services for Garry D. McAdams, 41, of Fairfield, were at 10 a.m. today at Emmanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Suits officiating. Burial followed at Mount Zion Cemetery in Fairfield. Arrangements are under the direction of Capps Memorial Chapel of Fairfield.
Mr. McAdams died Wednesday in Fairfield.
He was born July 20, 1960, in Pasadena.
Mr. McAdams was disabled. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
He is survived by his parents, Bobby and Arlean Donaldson McAdams of Fairfield; daughter, Amanda McAdams of Wortham; son, Kyle McAdams of Wortham; brother, Ronny McAdams of Fairfield; and sister, Diane Chappell of Fairfield.
Pallbearers were Ricky Cannon, Tim Walthall, Terry Walthall, David McAdams, Robert McAdams and Dwayne Chappell.

Napoleon D. Beazley

Services of Napoleon D. Beazley, 25, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Grapeland with the Rev. James W.E. Dixon II officiating. Emaunuel Funeral Home in Crockett is handling arrangements.
Mr. Beazley will be cremated following the service.
He died May 28.
Mr. Beazley was born Aug. 5, 1976 in Grapeland to Ireland and Rena Beazley.
He is survived by his parents; a sister, Maria Beazley; a brother, Jamaal Beazley; and grandmothers, Dorothy Dupree and Theressia Beazley.

Irma Faye Cox

Services for Irma Faye Cox, 52, of Teague, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Session Cemetery in Kirven with Emanuel Funeral Home in Teague handling arrangements.
Mrs. Teague died Saturday. She was cremated.
She was born Feb. 2, 1952 to James and Ophelia Curvin Cox.
Mrs. Teague was a member of the Antioch-Asia Baptist Church in Teague.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, James Cox Jr., Ocie Comier, Bessie Cox, Sadie Comier, Pauline Cox and Tom Cox.
Mrs. Teague is survived by a daughter, Kathy Parker of Houston; sons, James O. Cox and Willie Kenner, both of Teague, A.J. Cox of Houston; a sister, Nancy Cox of Florida; and 14 grandchildren.
