A native of Nederland, she was a retired Nederland Independent School District custodian.
Survivors include her son, Randy Dumesnil of Garland; daughter, Connie Mathison of Nederland; brother, James P. "Bo’’ Lee of Nederland; and three grandchildren.

Joan Fernon, 74, of Beaumont died July 2, 2001, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Anne Catholic Church with burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of L.M. Williams and Sons Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Thursday with a rosary to be recited at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
A native of Houston, she lived in Beaumont 52 years and was an owner of Fernon’s Office Supply.
Survivors include her daughters, Therese Fernon Jenkins and Deborah Fernon, both of Houston; sons, John A. Fernon Jr. of Beaumont and Christopher J. Fernon of Cheyenne, Wyo.; sisters, Mary Ellen Rexer of Houston and Jane Lewicki of Dickinson; and six grandchildren.

J.B. Freeman, 73, of Jasper died July 3, 2001, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper with burial at Withers Cemetery near Kirbyville. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
A native of Call, he lived in Jasper many years and was the founder of Freeman Ace Hardware and Pump Co. and a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include sons, Jim Freeman of Jasper and Joe Freeman of Shreveport, La.; brother, John Freeman of Greenridge, Mo.; sisters, Betty Davison of Kirbyville, Shirley Breckenridge of Roscoe, N.Y., and Lurlene Marts of Corpus Christi; and five grandchildren.

Leola Garlow George, 79, of Beaumont died June 29, 2001, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

She was a lifelong resident of Beaumont.

A native of Beaumont, he lived in Orange most of his life and was a disabled U.S. Navy and Army veteran.
