Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Jenkins Chapel Church of God in Christ with burial at Gilgal Cemetery in Jasper under the direction of Community Funeral Chapel on Irma Street. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel.
A native of Jasper, she lived in Beaumont many years and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Emerson Forward Sr. of Beaumont; sons, Emerson Charles Forward of Beaumont and Ronald Forward and Donald Forward, both of Ontario, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
Alvin Gonzales
Alvin Gonzales, 81, of Warren died April 10, 2001, at Veterans Administration Hospital in Houston.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Riley Funeral Home in Woodville with a military graveside service at 2 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
A native of Burleson County, he lived in Beaumont before moving to Warren 28 years ago and was a retired Santa Fe Oil and Warren Water District oilfield pumper and World War II U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Elsie Thelma Gonzales of Warren; sons, George Edward Allensworth of Warren and David Allensworth of Bridge City; daughter, Betty P. Gonzales of Texas City; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Roosevelt Hadnot, 69, of Silsbee died April 9, 2001, at Bur-Mont Nursing Center in Silsbee.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Woodville with burial at Town Bluff Cemetery under the direction of Coleman’s Tyler County Funeral Home in Woodville. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
A native of Emille, he lived in Silsbee a number of years and was a retired logger.
Survivors include his father, Albert Hadnot of Woodville; daughters, Karen Hadnot of Beaumont and Flora Ratcliff of Town Bluff; sons, Lawrence Hadnot of Hillister, Ozan Hadnot of Kountze and David Hadnot of Woodville; stepdaughters, Phyllis Dennis and Shelia Gregory, both of Woodville; brothers, Freeman Hadnot of Warren, Arthur Hadnot of Lufkin, and R.J. Hadnot and Arvester Hadnot, both of Woodville; 26 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Willie Ray Jordan, 59, of Spurger died April 11, 2001, at Dickerson Memorial Hospital in Jasper.
Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Spurger with a Masonic and Eastern Star graveside service at Beech Creek Cemetery near Spurger under the direction of Riley Funeral Home in Woodville. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. Friday to time of service at the church.
A lifelong resident of Spurger, he was a retired Pipeliner’s Local Union No. 798 pipe fitter in Tulsa, Okla.
Survivors include his wife, Mary L. Jordan of Spurger; daughter, Kimberly Colbert of Medford, N.J.; and son, Troy Jordan of Mt. Laurel, N.J.

Laura B. King, 89, of Beaumont died April 8, 2001, at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital.
Funeral will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Peaceful Rest Baptist Church with burial at Anthony Cemetery under the direction of Calvary Mortuary. A quiet hour will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the church.
A native of Louisiana, she lived in Beaumont a number of years.
Survivors include her sister, Willie B. Phillips of Oakland, Calif.

A native of Ward, La., she lived in Beaumont 55 years.
Survivors include sons, Rudolph Lee, Horace Lee, Elmer B. Lee and Sherman H. Lee, all of Beaumont, and Jimmy W. Lee of Houston; daughters, Gladys Springer, Earnie M. Lee, Dorothy A. A native of Saltcoats, Scotland, he lived in Port Arthur 19 years and was a retired design engineer.
Survivors include his wife, Dodee Coffey Logan of Port Arthur; daughter, Carol Ann Healey of New Jersey; stepdaughters, Sharon Ann Coffey of Houston and Gayle Jean Staton of The Woodlands; sisters, Nan Mader and Saida Granger, both of Florida; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Azel Lee Long
Azel Lee Long, 79, of Silsbee died April 10, 2001, at Schlesinger Geriatric Center in Beaumont.
Her body was donated to University of Texas Medical Branch Willed Body Program in Galveston. A memorial service will be announced later under the direction of Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Beaumont.
A native of Blooming Grove, she lived in Silsbee several years. She was a retired Christus St. Elizabeth and St. Mary hospital dietitian and licensed vocational nurse.
Survivors include her son, Erman Henry McCraw of Silsbee; sisters, Ouida Tompkins, Delora Ferrell, Erma James and Laverne Nix; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A native and former resident of Port Arthur, she was a retired DuPont River Works lab technician.

A native of Berwick, La., he lived in Port Arthur most of his life before moving to Littleton and was a retired Texaco Inc. lab technician.

A native of Tyler County, she lived in Kingsport 12 years.
