A native of Victoria and a former resident of Corpus Christi, she lived in Big Sandy 30 years.
Survivors include her son, John Singleton of Robstown; daughter, Patricia Harmon of Iowa, La.; brother, Joe Welborn of Utah; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Lanny Ross Pogue, 59, of Waco died April 9, 2000 at his residence.
A graveside service will be Monday in Pawnee. Connally Compton Funeral Directors in Waco handled arrangements.
A native of Kenedy and a former resident of Beaumont, he was a sales associate for Palm Harbor in Waco and formerly in television broadcasting sales.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Pogue of Waco; sons, Derick Pogue of Ardmore, Okla., and Kolin Pogue of Pottsboro; sister, Billy Jean Goff of Port Lavaca; brother, Kent Pogue of Kenedy; and three grandchildren.
RUDOLPH ‘RUDY’ RIVERS
Rudolph "Rudy" Rivers, 68, of Port Arthur died April 9, 2000 at his residence.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Port Arthur with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves under the direction of Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
A lifelong resident of Port Arthur, he was employed with J.C. Penney.
Survivors include his sister, Linda Parent of Nederland.

Jim Doty Swift, 88, of Liberty died April 6, 2000 at Liberty-Dayton Hospital in Liberty.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Rose Baptist Church in Liberty with burial at Wells Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Wells Mortuary in Liberty. A wake will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.
A lifelong resident of Liberty, he was a retired bricklayer.
Survivors include his wife, Lueburtha Jones Swift of Dayton; sons, Jim D. Swift, Larry Swift and Gary Swift, all of Dayton, and Howard Swift of Baytown; daughters, Bonnie Gobert and Patricia Swift, both of Dayton; sisters, Bessie Lee and Ethel Pristhe, both of Liberty, and Angelina Haskins of Raywood; and several grandchildren.

Mamie Westbrook, 88, of Magnolia Springs died April 10, 2000 at her residence.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial at Magnolia Springs Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
A native of Beech Grove, she lived in Magnolia Springs most of her life.
Survivors include her daughter, Nelda Hyatt of Magnolia Springs; sons, Howard Westbrook of Tyler and Preston Westbrook of Lufkin; sisters, Faye McBride and Zelma Whitehead, both of Buna; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Gary Bruce Wheat, 40, of San Marcos died April 9, 2000.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at First Christian Church in San Marcos with a graveside service at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Whitehouse Cemetery in Lufkin under the direction of Thomason Funeral Home in San Marcos.
A native of Beaumont, he lived in San Marcos several years and was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Wheat of San Marcos; son, Kyle Bruce Wheat of Beaumont; daughter, Melinda Christine Wheat of Mauriceville; stepsons, Randy Welch and Phillip Welch; stepdaughter, Katrina Hasty; mother, Lois Wheat of Beaumont; brothers, Larry Wheat of Beaumont and Mike Wheat of Conroe; sister, Brenda Bowles of Magnolia; and grandparents, J.O. Wheat of Lufkin, and Carl and Grace Spears of Vidor; and four grandchildren.

Hazel Woods Wilburn, 88, of Newton died April 8, 2000 in Round Rock.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Smith Funeral Home in Newton with burial at Newton City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She was a lifelong resident of the Newton area.
Survivors include her son, Hugh Wilburn of Houston; daughter, Charlotte McCoy of Round Rock; sisters, Ruth Day and Bonita Powell, both of Jasper; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Denis Williamson, 65, of Vidor died April 10, 2000 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.

A native of Beaumont, he lived in Vidor most of his life, was a retired truck driver and a Vietnam and Korean War U.S. Army veteran.

A native of Shreveport, La., she was a lifelong resident of Beaumont.
