Odessa Weisinger Porter
Services for Odessa Weisinger Porter, 85, of Houston, are pending. She will be cremated.
Mrs. Porter died Saturday in Houston following a lengthy illness.
She was born Feb. 25, 1917 in Houston County to William Monroe and Sadie Kate Phillips Weisinger.
Mrs. Porter attended school in Grapeland and Elkhart. She was married to Mark William Porter Jr. on June 10, 1938, and was a homemaker.
She was a member of Baptist Temple in Houston where she was active in the choir, the Ukelele Group, the Senior Singers and the Senior Sunday School class.
Mrs. Porter was preceded in death by her husband; and daughter, Ima Lee Higgins.
She is survived by daughter, Norma “Nicki” Lane of Palestine; son, Mark W. Porter III of Houston; sister, Ima Lea Pierce of Palestine; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Schmidt died Monday in a Dallas hospital.

Johnny Willis
Services for Johnny Willis, 33, of Spring, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Muse Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Willis died Sunday at Kingwood Medical Center in Kingwood.
He was born March 30, 1969, in Houston to John Richard Willis II and Judy Carolyn Clark Teague.
Mr. Willis was a salesman for Stubbs Cycle.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Richard (Judy) Teague of Spring; his father, John Willis of Spring; and son, Matthew McAllen Willis.
Pallbearers will be cousins.
Katherine Rose Moore
Services for Katherine Rose Moore 78, of Palestine, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Dan Manuel officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Park.
Mrs. Moore died Sunday afternoon at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 2, 1924, in Palestine to Delbert M. and Bertha Moore Gatlin.
Mrs. Moore was a member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by sister, Pat Amyett.
Mrs. Moore is survived by daughters, Kayeann Lowe of Palestine and Kerisue Bedair of Overton; sisters, Jackie Wilkinson of Quitman and Dorothy Smith of Dallas; brother, Delbert M. Gatlin of Lancaster; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Johnny Mack Brooks
Services for Johnny Mack Brooks, 68, of Oakwood, were at 2 p.m. Sunday at Capps Memorial Chapel of Fairfield with the Rev. Richard Gillet officiating. Burial followed at Lake Chapel Cemetery in Fairfield.
Mr. Brooks died May 28 in Lancaster.
He was born July 18, 1933, in Vernon.
Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife of more than 40 years, Mildred Brooks.
He is survived by son, Bradley Brooks of Cedar Hill; daughter, Johnna Lee Crum of Crowley; brother, Norman Brooks of Oakwood; and sister, Carolyn Fulton of North Carolina.
Pallbearers were Mike Graham, Allen Gardner, Bill Terry, Robert Ferguson, Craig McKissick and James Sacks.
Clifton D. Anderson
Services for Clifton D. Anderson, 96, of Fairfield, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Capps Memorial Chapel in Fairfield with the Rev. Gilford Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery in Fairfield.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home chapel.
Mr. Anderson died Saturday in Corsicana.
He was born Jan. 18, 1906 in Freestone County to Jasper and Carrie Anderson.
Mr. Anderson was a retired rancher and member of Antioch Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ora Dee Anderson; an infant son; and an infant grandson.
Mr. Anderson is survived by son, Harland Anderson of Bay City; four grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Anderson, Link Anderson, Nicky Anderson and Andy Anderson. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Dodds, Bobby Rutherford, David Chapman, Billy Chapman and Glen White.
Raymond Lanier Fletcher
Services for Raymond Lanier Fletcher, 80, of Palestine, will be at 3 p.m. today at Fields Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Dub Davis officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Fletcher died Friday morning at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 10, 1921 in Anderson County to Albert Franks and Mindie Langston Fletcher.
Mr. Fletcher was a self-employed mechanic and a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Mae Beasley Fletcher, in 1958; and infant son, Stanley Mark Fletcher, in 1958; a son, Raymond Earl Fletcher; three brothers, Otis Frank Fletcher, Melton Fletcher and Andrew Fletcher.
He is survived by sons, Jimmy Fletcher, Danny Fletcher, and Terry Fletcher, all of Palestine; sister, Nellie Batton of Rayne, La.; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Chad Fletcher, Mark Fletcher, Todd Fletcher, Donnie Larkin, Clifton Fletcher and William Fletcher.
Kian Criss Washington
Services for Kian Criss Washington, 90, of Fort Worth and formerly of Palestine, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Hezekiah Stallworth officiating. Burial will follow in Reed Cemetery in Elkhart under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Mrs. Washington died Thursday at Diagnostic Memorial Hospital in Houston.
She was born June 23, 1911 in Palestine to Timothy and Dora Hubbard Criss.
Mrs. Washington was baptized at Buelah Baptist Church and attended Mount Moriah School. After moving to Fort Worth she joined St. James Baptist Church.
She was a missionary. She cared for many children and adults in her home.
Mrs. Washington was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters, her husband, and a daughter.
She is survived by sisters, Mattie Williams of Palestine and Dora Deckard of Houston; three grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.
Active pallbearers will be Camille Davidson Jr., Warren Deckard Jr., Floyd Reed Jr., Lawrence Reed, Tim Reed and Lawrence Williams.
Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Beulah Baptist Church.
Willie Mae Goodson
Services for Willie Mae Goodson, 93, of Palestine, will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with David Braun officiating. Burial will be in Land of Memory Cemetery.
Mrs. Goodson died Friday in Palestine Healthcare Center.
She was born July 12, 1908 in Slocum to George Furman Raines and Alta Andrews Raines.
Mrs. Goodson was a member of the Court Drive Church of Christ and before retiring had worked for a number of years at the Jacksonville Eastside Elementary School.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Rudolph Goodson; sisters, Ruth McDaniel and Edith Wright; and brother, T.E. Raines.
Mrs. Goodson is survived by a daughter, Mary Frances Kelley of Palestine; sister, Ruby Fay Vickery of Palestine; and brother, Glenn Raines of Palestine.
Pallbearers will be Mike Stewart, J.L. Parkman, Ken Brewer, Larry Hurbough, Danny Allison and Dale Sparks.

Elam C. “Pop” Frye Sr.
Services for Elam C. “Pop” Frye Sr., 91, of Gladewater, were at 11 a.m. today at the Chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home with Tom Ramey officiating. Interment followed at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Frye died Monday in a Tyler hospital.
He was born Feb. 13, 1911 in Winchester, Ind. to Eldon C. and Frances O’Dell Frye.
Mr. Frye had been a resident of East Texas for more than 35 years. He was a mechanical engineer, retired from General Dynamics and Stemco. He was a certified manufacturing engineer and was an inventor.
He was preceded in death by wives, Ruby Brown Frye and Helen Tally Frye.
Mr. Frye is survived by sons, Jim Frye of Palestine, E.C. “Bud” Frye Jr. of Flint, Marshall Frye of Granbury and David Frye of Longview; daughters, Cynthia Sullivan of Dallas and Patti Renfro of Longview; sisters, Audrey Smart and Pauline “Beanie” McFall, both of Muncie, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Mark Emory, Mark Hood, Mike Wilson, Harry Simpson, Bobby Cruse and Rick Stinson.

Misa Lee “Jack” Jackson
Services for Misa Lee “Jack” Jackson, 82, of Seaside, Calif., and formerly of Palestine, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Mason Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Mr. Jackson died July 24 at Sunbridge Care Center in Watsonville, Calif.
He was born Jan. 12, 1920 in Palestine to Sonny and Maggie Lacey Jackson.
Mr. Jackson was employed by the city of Seaside Parks and Recreation Department and as a wool finisher at Owl Cleaners. He was manager of the Seaside Bombers baseball team for more than 40 years.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille Hill Jackson of Seaside; sons, Willie Jackson and Larry Jackson, both of Sacramento, Calif.; sisters, Doris Foreman of Brownfield and Marie Smith Overton of Palestine.
Clarence “Fussy” Fulford
Services for Clarence “Fussy” Fulford, 80, of Elkhart, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Perry Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Mr. Fulford died Monday at Hospice Homeplace in Tyler.
He was born Sept. 18, 1921 in Geneva, Ala. to Sam and Ada Starling Fulford.
Mr. Fulford was a truck driver for Archem Chemical. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Church of Christ in Elkhart.
Mr. Fulford was preceded in death by three sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Lillie Ann Fulford of Elkhart; daughters, Cari Mack of Humble, Kay Fulford and Vicki Kelly, both of Palestine; sons, Jim Fulford of Mission Viejo, Calif., Donald “Rusty” Fulford of Canton, Richard Fulford, Charlie Sheridan and Hunter Sheridan, all of Elkhart, and Bill Sheridan of Trinidad, South America; sister, Mildred Sisson of Idlewood, Fla.; brother, Sam C. Fulford of Mobile, Ala.; eighteen grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mike Cubstead, Ralph Mack, Don Burke, Edd Coleman, Kermit Grimsley and James “Toodler” Rials.

Bill “Mr. Bill” Thrift
Services for Bill “Mr. Bill” Thrift, 65, of Palestine, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Bailey & Foster Chapel.
Mr. Thrift died Wednesday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
He was born June 20, 1937 in Palestine to Wiley Wesley and Gladys Fleming Thrift.
Mr. Thrift was a registered medical technologist and retired after 25 years of service. He served in the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Dorothy Thrift Fritz.
Mr. Thrift is survived by his wife, Judy Morgan Thrift of Palestine; daughters, Deb Conn of Gilmer and Bernlee Bruffet of Brownsboro; son, Bradford James Thrift of Palestine; brother, Ed Thrift of Kerrville; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Gary Butler, Mark McMahon, Bill Smith, Bill Cline, Floyd Brewer and Terry Tucker.

Don Mac Allen
Services for Don Mac Allen, 66, of Palestine, were at 3 p.m. today at Bailey & Foster Chapel with the Revs. Harry R. Bush and Kenny Bush officiating. Burial followed in Muse Cemetery with military honors accorded by the U.S. Naval Reserve. Arrangements were under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Allen died Tuesday morning at the VA Hospital in Temple.
He was born Dec. 19, 1935 in Houston County to Walter R. and Wilda Reed Allen.
Mr. Allen was retired from the U.S. Navy. He served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was a member of Wess Chapel Baptist Church in Louisville, Miss.
Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his father, Walter R. Allen; and stepfather, Roy Rich.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita Allen of Palestine; daughter, Laura Burchfield of Palestine; son, Don M. Allen Jr. of Houston; mother, Wilda Allen and her husband, Osmand Allen of Grapeland; sisters, Marlene Browder of Tyler and Patsy Mewbourn of Lufkin; brother, Gordon Rich of Grapeland; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
