Carl Thomas Kuhrik
Services for Carl Thomas Kuhrik, 68, of Oakwood, will be 2 p.m. today at Chapel of Memorial Funeral Home in Buffalo. Burial will be private.
Mr. Kuhrik died Friday at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler.
He was born May 24, 1933 in Granite City, Ill.
Mr. Kuhrik was a high line painter for utility contractors. He also worked as a rancher. He moved to Buffalo from Houston in 1979.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda Kuhrik of Oakwood; sons, Bucky Davis of Arlington and Shawn Davis of Okeechobee, Fla.; a daughter, Lorri Hinson of Jewett; and a sister, Margie Vellebir of Minnesota.
Nicki Bowman
Funeral arrangements for Nicki Bowman, 2, of Palestine are pending at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
Nicki died Friday at a Dallas hospital.
Willie Bernice Ansley
Services for Willie Bernice Ansley, 77, of Buffalo, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Chapel of Memorial Funeral Home in Buffalo. Burial will follow at Buffalo Cemetery.
Mrs. Ansley died Thursday at Hillcrest Hospital in Waco.
She was born July 19, 1924, in Lampasas.
Mrs. Ansley worked in Brazosport as a dietitian at the Brazosport Memorial Hospital. She retired to Buffalo eight years ago.
She is survived by sons, Arnold Ansley of Oakwood, and Herman Mack Ansley and Jerry Ansley Sr., both of Buffalo; daughter, Brenda Ansley Henley of Buffalo; and sisters, Ollie Mae Hughes of Buffalo and Naomi Jean Hughes of Fairfield.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Peter Ansley, John Ansley, Herman Ansley Jr., Jerry Robert Ansley Jr., Charles Daniel Ansley and Michael Hernandez.
Visitation will continue until 9 p.m. tonight the funeral home.
Nikkia Brashun Walker
Services for Nikkia Brashun Walker, 26, of Trinity, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lone Star Missionary Baptist Church.
Burial will follow in Trinity Community Cemetery under the direction of Emanuel Funeral Home, Crockett.
Mr. Walker died Sunday at East Texas Medical Center in Trinity.
He was born April 21, 1975, in Huntsville to Johnnie Walker and Cornelius Harbin.
Mr. Walker attended Trinity Elementary School and St. Peters Catholic School. He graduated from Bellaire High School in 1993. He was a member of Bowen Pilgrim Baptist Church. He competed several industrial training courses at South Central Laborers and Apprentice School.
Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his grandmother, Virginia "Miss Fair" Wheeler.
He is survived by his parents; daughters Caren Walker and Kaen Walker; son, Trevor Walker; brother, Rex Kesler; and sisters, Rita Lewis of Dallas and Gwen Armstrong of Houston.
Maggie B. Vest
Services for Maggie B. Vest, 96, of the Wesley Chapel community, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel in Crockett with the Rev. Randy Hargrove officiating. Interment will follow in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Vest died Tuesday at East Texas Medical Center in Crockett.
She was born June 15, 1905, in Alvin.
Mrs. Vest had lived in the Wesley Chapel community of Houston County since 1913. She was a housewife.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leaford B. Vest; sons, L. Burr Vest and Leamon H. "Lee" Vest; daughter, Letha O. Vest; sister, Beatrice Birdwell Vest; and brothers, Eddy Birdwell and Floyd E. Birdwell.
Mrs. Vest is survived by sons, Herman L. Vest of Wasilla, Ala., Waymon C. Vest of Talkeetna, Ala. and Charles E. Vest of Crockett; daughter, Iradell V. Hansen of Houston; 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Justin W. Vest, Ray Davis, John Vest, Keith Davis, Joel Vest, Carl Hansen, Bradley Vest and Justin E. Vest.
Visitation will be tonight at the funeral home.
Lorene Stiles
Services for Lorene Stiles, 87, of Palestine, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Roselawn Park with the Rev. Lyle Huntress officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mrs. Stiles died Wednesday at Palestine Health Care.
She was born Jan. 18, 1915, in Paris to Thomas Daniel and Cassie West Pittman.
Mrs. Stiles was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and served as election judge in Palestine for many years. She was a volunteer for the soup kitchen. She also was a member of the Houston Board of Realtors and was employed by the Spring Branch ISD for several years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hulan K. Stiles, in 1984.
Mrs. Stiles is survived by her son, Tom K. Stiles of Deridder, La.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to noon Sunday at the funeral home.
Max Thomas Yeary Jr.
Services for Max Thomas Yeary Jr., 59, of Trinity, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo with the Rev. James "Jim" Parish officiating.
Interment will be in Buffalo Cemetery.
Mr. Yeary died Jan. 25 near Livingston.
He was born Dec. 6, 1942, in Middlesborough, Ky. to Max and Helen Chadwell Yeary.
Mr. Yeary was an auto mechanic. He had served in the Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Robert Lee Yeary.
Mr. Yeary is survived by his wife, Tina Yeary of Trinity; and brother, William Yeary of Middlesborough, Ky.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Jane Reeves
Services for Jane Reeves of Palestine will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Palestine with the Rev. Greg Megill officiating.
Mrs. Reeves died Wednesday night at a hospice in Tyler.
She was born to Elba and Hilma Nichols in St. Augustine County. She was a Methodist.
Mrs. Reeves is survived by her husband of 45 years, Charles Reeves of Palestine; son, John Reeves of Palestine; and daughter, Rebecca Christian of Clinton, Miss; sisters, Francis Woods of St. Augustine, Sue Calosel of Sugar Land and Jackie Randall of Nacogdoches; and three grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rick Clark, Susan Carbone, Kathy Huffman, Connie Smith, Matthew Gray, Joe Nichols, Warren Nichols and Ethel Foster.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Scottish Rite Hospital of Dallas or American Cancer Society.

Weldon Edward Terry
Services for Weldon Edward Terry, 76, of Fairfield, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church of Fairfield with the Rev. Terry Skinner officiating.
Burial will follow at Fairfield Cemetery under the direction of Capps Memorial Chapel of Fairfield.
Mr. Terry died Thursday.
He was born Feb. 15, 1925, in Fairfield.
Mr. Terry was a parts manager for Big A Auto Parts. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5872. He also was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He served in the Navy during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Terry of Fairfield; daughter, Linda Caliver of San Diego, Calif.; sisters, Lola Hollaway of Fairfield and Doris Ann Welch of Teague; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Curtis Red, Clois "Buddy" Mullen, John Awalt, Steve Casey, Melvin Hefelfinger and Mark Raymond.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Fairfield High School Class of 1942.

Edwin Dale Benge
Services for Edwin Dale Benge, 52, of Mount Selman, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Renfro Memorial Chapel at Boren-Conner Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold Small officiating.
Mr. Benge died Tuesday morning in Tyler.
He was born June 4, 1949, in Jacksonville.
Mr. Benge resided in Palestine before moving to Mount Selman. He was a member of Beall’s Chapel Baptist Church of Jacksonville. He was a truck driver and heavy equipment technician. He also served in the U.S. Army from July 1968 through February 1977.
He is survived by his fiancee, Janet Morrow of Palestine; parents, Menon and Bertha Benge of Mount Selman; sons, Chris Benge of Bullard and Bobby Ray Benge of Pensacola, Fla.; brother, Curtis Wayne Benge of Turnertown; sister, Beverly Rae Parker of Lakewood, Calif.; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of East Texas.
Anderson “Andy” Foster
Services for Anderson “Andy” Foster, 96, of Tyler and formerly of Palestine, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Eubank Funeral Chapel in Canton. Interment will be at Old Bethel Cemetery.
Mr. Foster died Tuesday in Tyler.
He was born Dec. 14, 1905, in Canton to Ambrose and Mary Groom Foster.
Mr. Foster was reared in Canton and moved to Brownfield where he lived for 16 years prior to moving to the Palestine area. He was a mechanic employed by East Texas Stone.
He is survived by his wife, Ola Mae Foster of Frankston; son, Alton F. Foster of Gelena, Mo.; daughters, Joice Bass of Tyler and June Naquan of Houston; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
George Lewis King
Services for George Lewis King, 75, of Rusk, will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Gipson-Metcalf Funeral Home Chapel with Don DeLong and Walter White officiating. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mr. King died Monday at his home.
He was born April 27, 1926 in Houston County. He was a retired maintenance technician for Pilgrim’s Cleaners. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II serving from 1943-45. He also was a member of Rusk Church of Christ.
Formerly of Houston, Mr. King lived in Rusk the last 12 years.
Mr. King was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia King, in 1997; a son, Edward L. King, in 1985; father, Logan King, in 1943; mother, Pearl Minton King, in 1982; brothers, James King, in 1944 and Joe King, in 1988.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie King of Rusk; daughters, Bobbie J. Orsack of Rusk, Bettie M. DeLong of Humble, Ruby Coker of Corsicana and Becky Hoag of Slocum; brothers, Carlis King, Clifford King and Cloyce King; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Dwayne King, Danny King, Ronnie King, James King, Tommy Bennett, Donnie Bennett, Buck Werner and Donald Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Sunday, Marks Lanham, Billy Dethlefs, Wayne Prater, Don Box and Ray Partin.
