Funeral arrangements for Mildred P. Brightwell, 78, of Palestine, are pending at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
Mrs. Brightwell died Wednesday night at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler.
Barbara A. Holland
Services for Barbara Ann Holland, 60, of Crockett, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Friendship Baptist Church in Crockett. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery in Washington, Ark. Arrangements are under the direction of Emanuel Funeral Home, Crockett.
Mrs. Holland died Monday in Grapeland.
She was born July 14, 1940, in Fulton, Ark., to Charlie and Ola Phillips Graham.
Mrs. Holland attended and received her education in Hope, Ark. She was a member of Miles Chapel for many years before uniting with Friendship Baptist Church where she served as President of Mission No. 2 and musician for the Senior Choir. She retired from Crockett State School as a teacher.
She was preceded in death by husband, Jerry Holland; parents; and sister, Bettye Shaw.
Mrs. Holland is survived by daughter, Tamla Phillips of Crockett; and sister, Louise Livingston of Crockett.
Pallbearers will be Javan Reagan, Willie Owens, Johnny Taylor, Luther Randolph, Richard Johnson and Craig Deckard.
Tayla M. Buckley
Services for Tayla Marie Buckley, 3, of Tennessee Colony, were at 1 p.m. today at Tennessee Colony Cemetery with Mitch Matter officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
Tayla died Tuesday morning at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas.
She was born Feb. 1, 1998, in Athens to Travis and Alicia Cushing Buckley.
Tayla was of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints faith.
She is survived by her parents of Tennessee Colony; brother, Preston Buckley of Tennessee Colony; grandparents, Carolyn Buckley of Tennessee Colony, Cheryl and Paul Hallmark of Murchison; and great-grandmother, Eudora Buckley of Udall, Mo.
Pallbearers will be Brett Buckley, Joe Buckley, Scott Buckley and Dean Buckley.
Eva Becker
Services for Eva Becker, 87, of Jacksonville, will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Dr. Tom Rousseau and the Rev. Peggy Edge officiating. Burial will follow in Land of Memory Cemetery.
Miss Becker died Tuesday morning at Hospice Home Place in Tyler.
She was born Jan. 9, 1914, in Philadelphia, Pa., to Anton and Elizabeth Harbin Becker.
Miss Becker had been a Palestine resident since 1916. She graduated from Montalba High School. She was a member of First Christian Church and the CWW Sunday School Class. She was a garment inspector for Industrial Garment Company.
She was preceded in death by sister, Anna M. Becker Owens; and brother, Mike Anton Becker.
Miss Becker is survived by brothers, John C. Becker of Palestine and Joe T. Becker of Tyler.
Pallbearers will be Dickie Douglass, J.M. Douglass, Neual Braly, Gerald Crawford, Craig Russell and Mark Kettering.
Condolence calls will be received from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Herman Small Jr.
Services for Herman Wesley Small Jr., 37, of Fairfield, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Fairfield Baptist Church in Fairfield with the Rev. R.C. Emanuel officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery in Oakwood under the direction of Emanuel Funeral Home No. 2, Teague.
Mr. Small died Sunday at East Texas Medical Center in Fairfield.
He was born Dec. 5, 1963, in Fairfield to Herman Wesley and Estelle B. Small.
Mr. Small attended and received his education in Fairfield ISD and graduated in 1988. He was a member of Fairfield Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father; and grandparents, Ila Marie Brown and Robert and Stella Small.
Mr. Small is survived by his mother of Fairfield; sisters, Berna Solomon and Mattie Brackens, both of Fairfield; brothers, Ray Charles Jones of Fort Worth and Gregory Earl Jones of Fairfield; and grandfather, Ed C. Brown Sr. of Fort Worth.
Lewis Elgin
Services for Lewis Junior Elgin, 75, of Huntsville, were held Wednesday at Buffalo City Cemetery. Burial followed at Buffalo City Cemetery.
Graveside services were under the direction of Huntsville Funeral Home. Local arrangements were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Buffalo.
Mr. Elgin died Saturday in Huntsville.
He was born Jan. 11, 1926, in Buffalo.
Mr. Elgin is survived by son, Jay Elgin of Huntsville; former wife, Martha Elgin of Huntsville; and two grandsons.
Lora Barton Jones
Services for Lora Lee Barton Jones, 92, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Judson Cemetery in Cayuga with the Rev. William Snidow officiating.
Mrs. Jones died Wednesday in Pasadena.
She was born Jan. 29, 1909, in Cross Roads to Bama Grant Cherry and Andrew Cleo Cherry.
Mrs. Jones married Robert F. Barton of Cayuga where they ran and operated Barton’s General Store. After his death in 1937, she later closed the store and moved to Galona Park where she married Finis F. Jones.
She was a member of Allendale Baptist Church in Houston.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by husbands, Robert E. Barton and Finis E. Jones; children, Clayrene Barton and Robert Lee Barton; brother, A.C. Cherry Jr.; and sisters, Thresa Dillard, Sadie Alexander and Florence Locke.
She is survived by children, Fowler Day Barton, Betty Ruth Marketos, Bobby Wayne Burton and Hunter Barton; sister, Mildred Rampy of Athens; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
MiGarian Lamb
Services for infant MiGarian Deshaun Lamb, 7 months old, of Crockett, were at 11 a.m. today at Emanuel Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at Golden Gate Cemetery in Grapeland with the Rev. Henry Lovelady officiating.
The infant died Saturday in Houston.
He was born Oct. 14, 2000, in Crockett to Bridgett Harris and Michael Lamb.
The infant is survived by his parents of Crockett; grandparents, O.T. and Cladis Harris of Crockett, Johnny and Annie Lamb of Grapeland; and great-grandparents, Wilma and Louise Roberts of Lovelady and William and Johnnie Wright of Crockett.
George Rainwater
Services for George W. Rainwater, 78, of Bay City, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Taylor Bros. Chapel with the Rev. Tom Crowe officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Van Vleck.
Mr. Rainwater died Saturday at St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston.
He was born July 3, 1922, in Henderson to Barry Melvon and Lela May Little Rainwater.
Mr. Rainwater is survived locally by sister Wilma Parrish of Palestine.
Dorothy G. Watson
Services for Dorothy Grace Watson, 88, of Grapeland, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Kennith Mobley officiating. Burial will follow in Dailey Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Grapeland.
Mrs. Watson died Sunday at East Texas Medical Center in Crockett.
She was born Jan. 11, 1913 in Houston County to Tom S. and LuEllen Denton Kent.
Mrs. Watson was the owner of the Country Kitchen Cafe in League City for 15 years and in Grapeland for 15 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Grapeland.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, H.H. “Buddy” Smith, in 1983; second husband, Marvin Watson, in 1995; sisters, Helen Seamon and LuEllen Van Antwerp; and brothers, Donald Kent, Tom Smith Kent and Pat Kent.
Mrs. Watson is survived by daughter, Anne Spence of Grapeland; sons, Billy Joe Smith of Grapeland and George Trabing of Houston; stepson, Marvin Watson of Dallas; brothers, Charles Kent of Crockett, Dick Kent of Orlando, Fla., Harry Kent of Phoenix, Ariz., and Dan Kent of Fort Worth; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Landon LaRue, Vance Bruner, Ray Bruner, Gary Lively, Mark Smith, Tommy Dailey and Holly Shirley.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Spears and David Cahoon.

Dreama Joy Haynes
Services for Dreama Joy Haynes, 56, of Deer Park, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Grapeland City Cemetery with the Rev. Kennith Mobley officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Grapeland.
Mrs. Haynes died Monday morning at her residence.
She was born Aug. 22, 1944, in Valasco to Emmitt and Ruth Land.
Mrs. Haynes was a homemaker and a Methodist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Haynes, in 1999.
Mrs. Haynes is survived by her son, Robert Desaglio, formerly known as David Earl Haynes, of Onalaska; sister, Delores Parker of Livingston; and brother, Ed Cartwright of Houston.

Private services for infant Raa’Shad Morrison were held today at Bluff Springs Cemetery in Elkhart. Arrangements were under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
The infant was stillborn on Friday at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.
The infant is survived by mother, Stacy Dawn Morrison of Garland; grandmother, Celestine Morrison of Garland; grandfather, David H. Betts of Palestine; great-grandmothers, Iola Cook and Hazel Hollis, both of Palestine.
