Ruth Ester Adams
Services for Ruth Ester Adams, 91, of Tyler, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Evergreen Chapel near Percilla in Houston County with Loyd N. Dickey officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster, Grapeland.
Mrs. Adams died Monday at her residence.
She was born July 14, 1909, in Percilla to William Daniel and Gertrude Shivers Dickey.
Mrs. Adams was a homemaker and a member of Percilla Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin C. Adams, in 1969; sisters, Clara Mae Dickey and Lena Long; and brothers, J.C. Dickey, Edward Dickey and Oscar Dickey.
Mrs. Adams is survived by daughters, Laverne Emmons and Myrna Wright, both of Tyler; sister, Annie Ola Drennan of Tyler; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Leth Ann Butler
Funeral arrangements for Leth Ann Butler, 78, of Elkhart are pending at McCoy Funeral Home.
Mrs. Butler died Monday at her home.
Leroy Blackmon
Services for Leroy Blackmon, 70, of Palestine, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with the Rev. Dean Easterling officiating. Burial will follow in Denson Cemetery.
Mr. Blackmon died Tuesday night at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler.
He was born Aug. 7, 1930, in Houston County to Tom and Mary Poole Blackmon.
Mr. Blackmon was a conductor for Missouri Pacific Railroad and retired after 34 years of service. He was a deacon of Walston Springs Baptist Church and a member of Elkhart Masonic Lodge.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Opal Rossetter.
Mr. Blackmon is survived by his wife, Wanda Hughes Blackmon of Palestine; daughter, Yvonne Shipper of Banks, Ala.; sons, Mike Blackmon and Terry Blackmon, both of Palestine, and Mark Blackmon of Elkhart; brothers, M.T. Blackmon of Palestine and Mickey Blackmon of Elkhart; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be George Blackmon, Pat Blackmon, Jerry Blackmon, Sam Blackmon and Stephen Blackmon.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wayland Saxon and Mike Cox.

Myrtle Matilda Largent
Services for Myrtle Matilda Largent, 74, of Neches, were at 2 p.m. today at Lighthouse Assembly of God Church in Neches with Bessie Greer and Chuck Johnston officiating. Burial followed at Woffard Cemetery in Frankston under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.
Mrs. Largent died Sunday at East Texas Medical Center in Jacksonville.
She was born Sept. 20, 1926, in Providence, R.I. to Thomas and Eva Pratt Brierly.
Mrs. Largent has lived in Neches most of her life. She was a member of Lighthouse Assembly of God Church in Neches. She was secretary/treasurer for the church for many years and a member of the women’s ministry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Arthur Largent, in November 1992; and three grandchildren.
Mrs. Largent is survived by sons, Charles Arthur Largent Jr. of Neches and Rodney Louis Largent of Belton; daughters, Jackie Isbell of Neches, Eva Anderson of Palestine, Alter Laurent of Zavalla and Jessie Luther of Pineland; two sisters; 19 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Jerry Sneed, Jimmy Ray Essary, Justin Largent, Ronald Thompson, Johnny Ray Largent, Juan Ureba, Jimmy Joe Essary and Frank Largent.
Honorary pallbearer was Thomas Ivy Largent.

Mrs. Tyner died Saturday at Hospice Home Place in Tyler.
She was born Sept. 18, 1923, in Troup.
Mrs. Tyner had lived in Palestine for most of her life. She has worked as a sales clerk. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Overton.
She is survived by daughters, Carolyn Sillick of Scroggins and Brenda Byrd of Palestine; brothers, John Gaddis of Overton and Rudy Gaddis of Tyler; sisters, Katherine Miller of Troup and Evelyn Taylor of Palestine; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Marlin Stewart
Services for Marlin Stewart, 96, of Neches, will be at 1 p.m. today at First Baptist Church of Neches. Burial will follow at Dabbs Cemetery in Frankston under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home of Jacksonville.
Mr. Stewart died Thursday at East Texas Medical Center in Jacksonville.
He was born Dec. 4, 1904 in Alderbranch.
Mr. Stewart was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a retired farmer and served as deacon at First Baptist Church in Neches.
He was preceded in death by son, R.L. Stewart; and grandson, Mike Stewart.
Mr. Stewart is survived by his wife, Mary Sue Hopper Stewart of Neches; daughters, Louise Stewart of Neches and Virginia Cretsinger Stewart of Broyles Chapel; son, Clifford Stewart of Tyler; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Carl Blue, Ray Parton II, Lowell Jones, Ronnie Reagan, Bob Simmons and George Simmons Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Canon, Chuck Norton, John Goodman and Dale Ott.

Mrs. Lumpkin died Thursday at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler.
She was born April 2, 1905, in Brushy Creek to Cylous and Alice Warren Sullivan.
Mrs. Lumpkin married and had 15 children. She was a member of Greater Brown Springs Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Champ Lumpkin Sr.; son, Charlie B. Lumpkin; five sisters; and six brothers.
Mrs. Lumpkin is survived by daughters, Rovelia Gillens, Mary LaFontaine, Janet Lumpkin and Ruth Williams, all of Dallas, Ara Lee Pinson-Hare and Amey Tucker, both of Palestine; sons, Champ Lumpkin Jr., the Rev. Tommy Lumpkin and Theldon Lumpkin Sr., all of Palestine, Elzia Lumpkin and Regan Lenzia Lumpkin, both of Dallas; sister, Arnell Archie of Dallas; brothers, Frank Sullivan of Fort Worth and Leopolean Sullivan of Amarillo; 33 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
