Services for Gladys L. Crutcher O'Neal, 78, of Palestine will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with the Rev. Dean Easterling officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mrs. O'Neal died Monday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
She was born April 15, 1926 in Anderson County to Louis W. Camp and Bessie Fulgium Camp. She was a homemaker and a member of the Walston Springs Baptist Church.
Mrs. O'Neal was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Murray A. Crutcher Sr.; and her second husband, J.B. "Shorty" O'Neal; sister, Lucille Prater; grandson, Larry Wayne Parsons Jr.; and a stepson, Don O'Neal.
She is survived by daughters, Glenda Easley and husband Bob, Dale Parsons and Larry Sr., all of Palestine; stepdaughters, Sue Hanak of Palestine, and Mrs. Ron (Bettye) Greene of Tyler; sons, Murray A. Crutcher Jr. and wife Pam of Odessa and Bill Crutcher and wife Pinkie of Palestine; sisters, Grace Lively of Magnolia, Betty Joyce Ray of Denson Springs, Mary Minton of Jacksonville, and Hazel Starr of Palestine; a brother, Henry M. Camp of Palestine; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Hayden Parsons, Gary Hill, Frank Easley, Murray A. Crutcher III, Michael Crutcher; and great-grandson, Austin Evans.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
She will be missed by her family and friends. She was a loving, caring, person to everyone she knew and spent her entire life offering help to all she found to be in need.
H. Darwin Hodges

Graveside services for H. Darwin Hodges, 81, of Duncanville, and formerly of Palestine, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Palestine City Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Glenn officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Hodges died Monday at Charlton Methodist Hospital in Duncanville.
He was born Oct. 28, 1922 in Palestine to Hayden Judson and Hattie Belle Berry Hodges.
Mr. Hodges graduated from Texas A&M and was retired from Mobile Oil as a physicist. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the St. Paul Episcopal Church in Dallas.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Hodges is survived by his wife, June Shelton Hodges of Duncanville; and a sister, Jane Henderson and husband Bob of Palestine.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Robert Henderson, Adam Henderson, Jay Henderson, Danny Unger, Daniel Unger, Joshua Unger, and Josiah Unger.

Services for Merdie Clarence Hedrick Jr., 74, of Waco, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Antioch Cemetery near Fairfield under the direction of Capps Memorial Chapel of Fairfield.
Mr. Hedrick died Tuesday in Waco.
Nancy Hamilton

Services for Nancy Hamilton, 82, of Palestine will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Polk officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Park.
Mrs. Hamilton died Wednesday at Hospice Home Place in Tyler.
She was born Oct. 30, 1921 in Falfurrias to Roy and Winnie Gotcher Calahan.
Mrs. Hamilton was a homemaker. She was a member of the Sheridan Terrace Baptist Church and was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was a member of the Women's Missionary Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jeter Hamilton in 1998; a son, Ernest Ray Hamilton; and a sister and two brothers.
Mrs. Hamilton is survived by daughters, Joyce Huddleston and husband Van of Friendswood, Ellen Huddleston, and Bonnie Prather and husband David, all of Palestine; six grandchildren, Cheryl Campbell of Cibolo, Lori Runnels of Austin, Kim Melanson of Pearland, Stephanie Malone of Palestine, Curtis Huddleston of Nevada and Chanda LaLonde of Dennam Springs, La., and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Don Huddleston, Richard Maddox, Roger Runnels, Dale Runnels, Eric Malone and Pat Wagner.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Olen L. Elliott

Services for Olen L. Elliott, 64, of Tennessee Colony, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Eubanks Funeral Home in Canton. The Texas Department of Criminal Justice will provide an honor guard.
Mr. Elliott died Wednesday at his residence.
He was employed by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice - Institutional Division's Coffield Unit. He served in the Coast Guard for six years as a flight engineer. He served the AmerCorps Vista for two years and Habitat for Humanity for three years.
Mr. Elliott was preceded in death by his grandparents, the late Henry and Alma Norris; and father, Olen Elliott Sr.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, P. Murph Elliott of Tennessee Colony; mother, Rosemary Elliott of Canton; and brother, Larry Elliott of Canton; sons, Christopher Lacy of Dallas, Billy Elliott and Steve Elliott; and daughter, Rosemary Reed of League City; eight grandchildren; and Sam, his poodle.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Habitat for Humanity or the animal shelter of choice.

Mr. Crawford died Saturday at his residence.
He was born Nov. 13, 1961 in Palestine to Thomas William and Patricia Johnson Crawford.
Mr. Crawford was an electrician. He was a Baptist.
He is survived by his parents, Thomas William and Patricia Johnson Crawford of Neches; sisters, Tammy Lewis of Jacksonville, Tina Bolton of Neches and Gloria Gates of Lakeview, Ore.; brothers, George Crawford of Jacksonville and Mike Crawford of Neches; six nieces; and one nephew.
Pallbearers will be John Thomas Lewis, Mark Bolton, Charlie Carroll, Doug Sumrall, John Woolverton and John McMeans.

Services for Lavelle Theilen, 72, of Palestine will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Scott Dornbush officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Park under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mrs. Theilen died Saturday at the Cartmell Home for Aged.
She was born Sept. 11, 1931 in Dallas to Robert W. Mathis and Pauline Loressa Cargill Mathis.
Mrs. Theilen and her husband moved to Palestine in 1960. They were co-owners of Conard-Theilen Motors Inc., for 33 years. She was a wife, mother and an avid golfer.
Mrs. Theilen was a member of First United Methodist Church, active in numerous civic organizations and loved to travel with her good friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kim Darby Theilen, who died in 1976; and husband, Gordon Theilen, who died in 1993.
Mrs. Theilen is survived by son, Tim Theilen of Houston; grandson, Jack Travis "J.T." Theilen of Palestine; brother-in-law, Bernard Theilen and wife Albina of Dallas; nephews, Don Daffron of Ladonia, George Theilen and wife Jan of Dallas, Frank Theilen and wife Ellen of Coppell, Lee Theilen of Dallas, Darby Theilen and wife Richelle of Houston; nine great-nephews; and many beloved friends.
Pallbearers will be Don Daffron, George Theilen, Frank Theilen, Lee Theilen, Darby Theilen and Tyson Theilen.

Our beloved and courageous Mother, DOROTHY CHURCHMAN HINSON, has gone to be with her Heavenly Father on May 2, 2004, at the age of 71. Married to John Franklin Hinson, Sr. who predeceased her in 1964, and son-in-law, Michael J. Vacek, who predeceased her in 2000, she is survived by her three children, Terri Hinson Green, Jona Hinson Vacek of Frisco, Texas, and John Frankin Hinson Jr., and his wife, Kelle Hinson of Gunter, Texas. The pride and joy of her life were her three grandsons, Kyle Nelson Green and John Austin Green, of Frisco, Colton John Hinson of Gunter and granddaughter, J'Lynn Marie Vacek of Frisco.
Dorothy was one of 11 children born to the late Allean and Ralph Churchman on Aug. 2, 1932. She was predeceased by her brother, Albert William Churchman, and sisters, Imogene Davis, Pearlean Brown and Bonnie Jo Parker. She is survived by three brothers, Carl C. Churchman, Fred Churchman and Tommie Churchman; three sisters, Vertie Dee Kiser, Margie Nell Miller and Roxie Lee McCarty, in addition to a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family members.
Dorothy was a life-long resident of Palestine and graduated from both Palestine High School and Palestine Business College. After graduation, she began her professional career working for the late Henry Latimer Jordan. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Palestine and participated in various civil and social circles during her lifetime.
In recognition of her influence, contribution and inspiration to education, the Dorothy C. Hinson Educational Scholarship Fund will be established. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the fund in her honor at c/o 10800 Belle Chasse, Frisco, Texas 75035.
Pallbearers will be Samuel "Bo" Henry, Kenneth Wayne Miller, Danny Churchman, Dennis Ray McCarty, Jason Kiser and grandson, Kyle Nelson Green. Honorary pallbearers will be Jonas Kiser, Ralph Mack, Randy Mack and Tony Ray McCarty.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 4, 2004 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home in Palestine. Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home. Interment will be in the family cemetery in Tennessee Colony, Texas.
Emily Sue Hill

Services for Emily Sue Hill, 64, of Palestine will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Philip's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Mike Glenn officiating.
Ms. Hill died Saturday at Hospice Home Place in Tyler.
She was born Sept. 27, 1939 in Springhill, La. to Carl N. and Thelma Dade Hill.
Ms. Hill earned her Master's in English from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark. and taught in the English Department of South East Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Mo. for 15 years. In Palestine, she was a substitute teacher in the Westwood Independent School District and was an insurance sales executive for Woodmen of the World. She was a member of the St. Philip's Episcopal Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Beatte of Walnut Creek, Calif.; and her son, Brian Beatte of Missouri.
