CAMERON — Services for Kenneth Donald Hensley, 67, of Milano are set for 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Kathryn W. Green Chapel of Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Cameron.
The Rev. Reinhold Schmitt will officiate. Burial will be in Milano Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Hensley died Sunday at a Rockdale hospital.
He was born in Grosse Tete, La., and was a retired auto parts store owner and entrepreneur. He graduated from Southern Methodist University, where he also attended law school.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Johnson Hensley of Milano; three sons, James Richard Russell Jr. and John Michael Russell, both of Dallas, and James Donald Hensley of Woodstock, Ga.; three daughters, Mary Bow of Cedar Hill, Texas, Susan Fabian of Midlothian, Texas, and Mari Russell of Dallas; a brother, James Nelson Hensley of Dallas; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
John H. Moody
April 27, 1907 — Feb. 25, 2001
HEARNE — Services for John H. Moody, 93, of Hearne are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Heartfield Funeral Home in Hearne.
The Rev. Nona Taylor of Grace United Methodist Church in Hearne will officiate. Burial will be in Norwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to the time of the services Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Moody died Sunday in College Station Medical Center.
He was born in Trinity, Texas, and was a longtime resident of Hearne. He was retired as an appliance repairman. He was a Methodist.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Violet Moody.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, John B. and Anne Moody of Navasota and Paul H. and Angie Moody of Highlands, Texas; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Janice Martin

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Graveside services for Janice Martin, 79, of Bryan are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Kansas City, Kan.
Arrangements are under the direction of D.W. Newcomer’s White Chapel Funeral Home in Kansas City, Mo.
Ms. Martin died Friday in the Manor Nursing Home in Bryan.
She was born in Kansas City, Kan., and also lived in Kansas City, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Byron C. “Buck” Martin.
Survivors include a son, Terry Martin of Jefferson City, Mo.; a daughter and son-in-law, Melody and Woody Thompson of Bryan; a sister, Jo Anne Mierhoff of Kansas City, Mo.; and five grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
Louise H. Brotherton

BRENHAM — Services for Louise H. Brotherton, 92, of Brenham are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Brenham Presbyterian Church.
The Rev. Brad Munroe will officiate. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery in Caldwell. Arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham.
Mrs. Brotherton died Friday at her home in Brenham.
She was born in Texas. She was an executive secretary for a feed and grain company, which she owned and operated with her husband.
She was preceded in death by her husband. Herman P. Harris.
Survivors include her stepson, Loyd Dunn Brotherton of Richardson; her sister, Faye Curtis of Orville; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Joe Lloyd McLain

PASADENA — Services for Joe Lloyd McLain, 78, of Pasadena were Monday at Willow Hole Cemetery Chapel in Madison County.
Arrangements were under the direction of Grand View Funeral Home in Pasadena. The Rev. Dale Walling of First Christian Church of Pasadena officiated.
Mr. McLain died Friday.
He was born in Normangee. He worked at Armco Steel for 30 years and was a member of First Christian Church of Pasadena for 50 years.
Survivors include his wife, Ella Mae McLain of Pasadena; three daughters, Mary Wilkerson of Point Blank, Texas, Norma Hartsfield of Pasadena and Libby Cargill of Missouri City; four sisters, Lucille Ball of Caldwell, Ruby Luther of College Station, Dorothy Kelly of Austin and Anita Blinka of Bryan; five grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.
Terry Jack Walker
Aug. 18, 1940 — Feb. 26, 2001
LEONA — Services for Terry Jack Walker, 60, are set for 1 p.m. Friday at the Bluff City Church of Christ in Bluff City, Ark.
Mr. Carl L. Dougan will officiate and burial will follow in the Bluff City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Walters Funeral Home in Centerville. Visitation will also be at Shackelford Funeral Home in Prescott, Ark., on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Mr. Walker died Monday at home following a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born in Bluff City and graduated from high school in Prescott.
He served almost four years in the U.S. Air Force before being honorably discharged. He worked for 13 years for the Southland Corp., which owned 7-11 convenience stores. Later, he bought his own convenience stores, which he ran for about 20 years in Galveston County. After his retirement, he became a cattle rancher.
Mr. Walker was proceeded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Mattie Mae Walker, and two brothers, Glen Walker and Lyndale Walker.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Jane Walker of Leona; two sons, Mark Kevin Walker of Santa Fe, Texas, and Keith Brandon Walker of Leona; two daughters, Teresa Delaine Lane of Santa Fe and Tracie Renae Keeling of Leona; three brothers, Bob Walker of Gurdon, Ark., Bill Walker of Bluff City and Ted Walker of Grand Prairie, Texas; two sisters, Nell Wanda McKelvy of Bluff City and Mary Ann Walker of Camden, Ark.; 11 grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Thelma P. Wells

Services for Thelma P. Wells, 89, of Bryan are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.
The Rev. Russell Goodwin of Northview Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Martin’s Prairie Cemetery in Grimes County.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Funeral Chapel.
Mrs. Wells died Sunday at the Bryton Inn Health Center in Bryan.
She was born in Iola and lived most of her life in Brazos and Grimes counties. She was a homemaker and a member of Northview Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death in 1989 by her husband, Ray A. Wells.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Raymon E. “Gene” and Betty Wells of Houston; two daughters and one son-in-law, Evelyn and Daniel Leo Wagon of Bryan and Janie Sue Cook of Albany, Ga.; one sister, Lila Wells of Irving; and one sister-in-law, Luella Taylor of Wortham, Texas; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

James W. Weslowski

Services for James J. Weslowski, 85, of Bryan will be in Pittsfield, Mass., at a later date. Burial will be in Adams Cemetery in Adams, Mass.
Local arrangements are under the direction of Hillier Funeral Home.
Mr. Weslowski died Sunday at St. Joseph Regional Health Center.
He was born in Adams. He was a heavy equipment operator. Mr. Weslowski was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Lillian Weslowski.
Survivors include his two sons and a daughter-in-law, James Weslowski of Bryan, and Lawrence and Claire Weslowski of Framington, Mass.; a daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Walter Pasko of Lanesboro, Mass.; his brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Virginia Weslowski of Pittsfield; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Sophia and Aldo Delmolino of Pittsfield, and Olympia Dziok of Winter Springs, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
Mary Emily Huddleston Halbrooks

ARLINGTON — Services for Mary Emily Huddleston Halbrooks, 91, of Arlington were Monday at Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Arlington. Burial was at the DeLeon Cemetery.
Mrs. Halbrooks died Friday in Arlington.
She was born in Duster, Texas. She was a homemaker. She was an active member and Bible school teacher of Central Church of Christ in Bryan for 44 years and the North Davis Church of Christ in Arlington for 19 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Halbrooks.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Pat and John Scott of Arlington; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Wayne Miller; and a host of nieces and nephews.
James ‘Red’ Surovik

MINERVA, Texas —Graveside service for James “Red” Surovik, 58, of Minerva, and formerly of Rockdale, is set for 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Minerva Cemetery. The Rev. Paul Moore of Faith Assembly of God of Rogers, Texas, will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.
Mr. Surovik died Monday at Richards Memorial Hospital in Rockdale.
He was born in Barclay, Texas. He was an electrician for Alcoa of Rockdale for 30 years and retired in 1993. He graduated from Holland High School in Bell County.
Survivors include his wife, Claudia Surovik of Minerva; his parents, Joe and Lydia Surovik of Rockdale; sons and daughter-in-law, David and Sandy Summers of Rockdale, Mitch Surovik of Taylor; four daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Ronnie Stauffer of Rockdale, Kim Summers of Rockdale, Roxanne and Johnny Marinik of Temple, Michelle and Oscar Muniz of Elgin; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Joe Surovik of Port O’Conner, John and Jane Surovik of Cameron; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Gayle and Weldon Gilliam of Angelton, Sharilyn and Jimmy Hicks of Decator, Diana and Larry Norwood of Duncanville; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Ruth Anderson

A memorial service for Ruth Anderson, 94, of Bryan is set for 11 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Bryan. The Rev. Bob Richers, associate pastor of First United Methodist Church, will officiate. A private interment will be in Bethel Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan.
Mrs. Anderson died Monday at Sherwood Health Care Facility.
She was born in Brazos County. She was a longtime Brazos County resident and former clerk at the Brazos County Tax Collectors office. She moved to Normangee in 1955 where she later owned and operated Anderson Washateria prior to her retirement. She was active in the Meals on Wheels program in Normangee and was awarded a citation by the governor for her community involvement. She was a longtime active member of First Baptist Church in Normangee.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ross Jones and Edgar Anderson.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Virginia Jones of Bryan; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Bryan.
