NAVASOTA — A memorial service for Alvin V. Fenn, 77, of Navasota is set for 10 a.m. Friday at Navasota Church of Christ. Rev. Solon Bailey will officiate.
Mr. Fenn died Tuesday at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan.
He was born in Slaton, Texas. He was retired from the Texas Department of Corrections Pack II Unit as a guard from 1983 to 1993. He had been a former Boy Scout volunteer. Mr. Fenn served in the United States Navy during World War II and had been a member of the Navasota Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Charlene Fenn of Navasota; two sons, Byron Fenn of Abilene and Greg Fenn of Atlanta, Ga.; one daughter and son-in-law, Fonda and Phillip Newton of Rochester, Texas; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Albert Fenn of Ajo, Ariz., Robert and Edith Fenn of Denver, Colo.; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Ruth Lucas of Gravette, Ark., Pauline and David Morrison of Rogers, Ark.; and three grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Navasota Church of Christ Building Fund.
Andrew D. Haven

LEONA — Services for Andrew D. Haven, 69, of Leona are set for 1 p.m. Saturday at the Two Mile United Methodist Church in Leona. The Rev. C.D. Evans will officiate. Burial will follow in the Two Mile Cemetery.Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Walters Funeral Home in Centerville.
Mr. Haven died Wednesday in Madisonville.
He was born in Leona. He was a farmer and lifelong resident of Leona. He was a member of Two Mile United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two brothers, Grant and Leon Haven, both of Leona; two sisters, Maggie Lee and Louise Haven, both of Leona; one uncle, and four aunts.
Cecil Lee Scott

HEARNE — Services for Cecil Lee Scott, 77, of Hearne are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Church of Christ in Hearne. Geron Bryan will officiate. Burial will be at Easterly Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Heartfield Funeral Home in Hearne.
Mr. Scott died Wednesday in the Franklin Nursing Home in Franklin.
He was born in Eastland, Texas. He retired from Lone Star Gas. Mr. Scott served in the Army during World War II and was a member of Church of Christ in Hearne.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Scott.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, David Lee and Karen Scott of Gainsville, Texas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lynette and Lotice Cole of Port Neches, Texas, Sharon and Joe La Paglia of Hearne; two brothers, Frank and Orville Scott, both of Thackerville, Okla.; four sisters, Lela Scounce, Leola Murrell, Opal Pittner, Maudene Mason, all of Gainsville, Texas; nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Lester Allen Speed
Oct. 21, 1973 - Nov. 1, 2000
FRANKLIN — Services for Lester Allen Speed, 27, of Franklin are set for 3 p.m. Sunday at the McCauley Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin. Burial will be in Owensville Cemetery near Franklin.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Speed died Wednesday at his home.
He was born in Freeport, Texas. He graduated from Brazoswood High School and attended Brazosport College. He had been a resident of Franklin for the past six months. He previously lived in Lake Jackson. He was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Lake Jackson.
Survivors include his parents, Maggie Devens and Terry Speed of Franklin; two sisters, Leslie Daniel of Richwood, Christine Rene’ Cook of Angelton; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Leland Speed of Richwood, Lindsey and Shavawn Speed of Richwood, Tommy Speed of Angleton; his grandmother, Barbara Devens of Lake Jackson; Tommy L. and Betty Speed of Lake Jackson; and numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Frank Joseph Boriskie
January 11, 1910 — November 3, 2000
Services for Frank Joseph Boriskie, 90, of Bryan are set for Sunday, November 5, 2000. A Mass will be offered at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. John McCaffrey will officiate.
Mr. Boriskie was born in Brazos County on January 11, 1910. He was manager of the Humpty Dumpty Grocery Store in Downtown Bryan for 25 years. He went on to serve as Brazos County Clerk for 24 years. In 1984 he was honored by the Sons of Hermann with the Humanitarian Award. He was named Outstanding County Clerk of the State of Texas for 1989-1990 by the County and District Clerks Association of Texas. He retired from his beloved position of County Clerk on January 1, 1991.
He was also very active in many charitable and civic projects. Mr. Boriskie was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus and was invested by Pope Paul VI into the Knighthood of St. Gregory. This honor is bestowed upon men of distinction who have promoted the interest of Society and Church. He was a 4th Degree Knight and a member of the Knights of Columbus St. Joseph Council 11759.
Frank Boriskie will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Helen Boriskie; three daughters, Diane Murphy of Houston, Pat and Wayne Cage of Dallas and Linda Boriskie of Dallas; four grandchildren, Richard Pessarra of Houston, Courtney Murphy of Houston, John Cage of Dallas and Christopher Seman of Dallas; three sisters, Anna Mae Dominik, Susie Maly and Josephine Fojtik, all of Bryan.
Memorials may be made to the St. Joseph School Trust Fund or Hospice Brazos Valley.
Margaret Ann Barker

Services for Margaret Ann Barker, 67, of Bryan are set for 1 p.m. Monday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.
Monsignor John Malinowski will officiate. Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery in Fairfield, Texas.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. to the time of the services Monday at the funeral home.
A vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Barker died Friday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center.
She was born in Houston and had lived in Bryan for 15 years. She was a homemaker and was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. She was a member of the Corpus Christi Garden Club for many years and was a state flower show judge in Corpus Christi.
She was preceded in death by a son, John W. Barker Jr.
Survivors include her husband, John W. Barker Sr. of Bryan; a son and daughter-in-law, Lloyd and Vicki Barker of Corpus Christi; a daughter and son-in-law, Cina M. and Alan Culwell of Carlsbad, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Gladys Dominik of Bryan; three sisters, Florence Hundl and Carolyn Mitchell, both of Bryan, and JoAnn Glowski of Houston; and three grandchildren.

Ruby Emmagene Bland

HEARNE — Services for Ruby Emmagene Bland, 94, of Gause are set for 11 a.m. Monday at the Gause Baptist Church.
The Rev. Jimmy Sanders of the Gause Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Gause Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Heartfield Funeral Home in Hearne.
Mrs. Bland died Tuesday in Annapolis, Md.
She was born in Gause and was a longtime resident. She formerly lived in Hearne. She was a retired music instructor and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star No. 722 and the Gause Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Leslie Goode and George Bland.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Robert Eugene and Marjorie Goode of Annapolis; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

ROCKDALE — Services for Elizabeth M. Bohls, 92, of Rockdale are set for 10 a.m. Monday at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.
The Rev. Brian Bauer of Peace Lutheran Church in Rockdale will officiate. Burial will be at 3 p.m. at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston.

Mrs. Bohls died Thursday in Richards Memorial Hospital in Rockdale.
She was born in the Salty community near Rockdale and had lived in Rockdale for 23 years. She formerly lived in Houston, where she was an office clerk with Sakowitz Department Store for a number of years. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, R.D. Bohls; and a son, Lester Hirt.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Judy Hirt of Rockdale; two sisters, Margaret Doss of Rockdale and Eleanor Caldwell of Fairfield, Texas; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Richard G. Gregorcyk Sr.

Mr. Gregorcyk died Thursday in Houston.
He was born in Nueces County, Texas, and was a heavy equipment operator in construction. He was a Catholic.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Cecilia Hirsey Gregorcyk.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Gregorcyk of Bedias; five sons and daughters-in-law, Richard G. Jr. and Virginia Gregorcyk of Hannibal, Mo., Joseph and Sue Gregorcyk of Bellville, Texas, Michael and Brenda Gregorcyk of Texas City, Texas, Nicholas and Joan Gregorcyk of Wilmington, Del., and John and Diana Gregorcyk of Bedias; two daughters and sons-in-law, Emilia and Edward Kasparek of Bellville, Texas, and Mary and John Cash of Logansport, La.; a step-son, James Neal of Bedias; 23 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was born in Capitan, N.M., and had lived in Gause most of her life. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Rockdale Full Gospel Church.

Mr. Tucker died Thursday in a Temple hospital.
He was born in Post, Texas. He was a retired truck driver.

NEDERLAND, Texas — Services for Herbert Schaefer, 87, of Nederland are set for 10 a.m. Saturday at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Nederland. The Rev. Francis Schroeder will officiate. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery in Navasota. Arrangements are under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary in Nederland.
Mr. Schaefer died Thursday at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
He was born in Anderson, Texas. He was a native and longtime Nederland resident. He retired as an operator for B.F. Goodrich.
Survivors include his wife, Esther Schaefer of Nederland; two daughters, Joyce Marks of Hillister, Texas and Linda Jaetzold of Lake Charles, La.; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
