CROSBY, Texas — Services for Veronica “Ronnie” Morse, 66, of Crosby are set for 2 p.m. Thursday at the Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas. The Rev. Russell Foster will officate. Burial will be at Magnolia Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Morse died Tuesday at her home.

She was born in New Orleans. She was a former resident of Franklin and resided in the Crosby area for the past two years. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1952.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie. E. Morse Jr.Survivors include her three sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald E. and Renea Morse of Franklin, Larry W. and Becky Morse of Crosby, Mark A. and Madaline Morse of La Porte, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Debbie A. and Sidney Brown of Crosby; 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.

Kathryn Cook
Feb. 6, 1918 — Oct. 18, 2000

MADISONVILLE — Services for Kathryn Cook, 82, of Madisonville are set for 2 p.m. Friday at the Madisonville Funeral Home. Lanier Stevens will officiate. Burial will be in the Leona Cemetery in Leona.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m.

Thursday and from 9 a.m. to service time Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Cook died Wednesday at Happy Haven in Midway.

She was born in Mecca Community in Madison County.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wiley Cook.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Jimmy Swinner of Madisonville; a sister, Euna Dowell of The Woodlands, Texas; a sister-in-law, Gwen Longbotham of Madisonville; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Jonathon Phillip Casares, II
Oct. 11, 2000 — Oct. 11, 2000

Graveside services were Tuesday for Jonathon Phillip Casares II of Bryan at Rest-Ever Memorial Park in Bryan. Arrangements were with Callaway-Jones Funeral Home.

Jonathon died Oct. 11 at Hermann Hospital.

Survivors include his parents, Jonathon and Rose Casares of Bryan; grandparents, Simon and Antoinette Zavala, Victor and Cathy Casares, Donald and Kathy Leighman, all of Bryan; great-grandparents, Julia M. Casares, Pete and Lupe Ybarra, all of Bryan; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Syble Jane Mosley
March 10, 1914 — Oct. 17, 2000

PASADENA, Texas — Services for Syble Jane Mosley, 86, of Pasadena are set for 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of J.M. Day Funeral Home in Madisonville. Brother Ron Hill will officiate. Burial will be at Mt. Tabor Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Mosley died Tuesday in Pasadena.

She was born in Madison County. She was a member of Southside Church of Christ in Pasadena.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Mosley; and two daughers, Gwendolyn and Vicky Lynn Mosley.

Survivors include five sons and daughters-in-law, Horace R. and Dorris Mosley of Porter, Robert and Ardith Mosley of Houston, Larry and Mary Mosley of Pasadena, Jim and Paula Mosley of League City, Gary and Joyce Mosley of Pasadena; three daughters and a son-in-law, Doris Jones of Spring, Texas, Sylvia Ann and Bob Lee of Houston, Emily Bullard of Houston; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Geri and Paul Barbee of Corpus Christi, Margaret Foreman of Madisonville; one brother, Charlie Holcomb of Madisonville; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Charles Wayne Kraatz
May 13, 1944 — Oct. 18, 2000

Services for Charles Wayne Kraatz, 56, of Bryan are set for 10 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to service time on Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Kraatz died Wednesday at his home.

He was born in Winters, Texas. He was employed with Basler-Base & Pumping Unit Services for ten years. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps during the Vietnam Conflict.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Kraatz of Bryan; five sons and daughters-in-law, Charles L. Kraatz of Bryan, Damon and Karen Kraatz of Bryan, Jimmie Stone Jr. and Betty of Quincy, Ill., Kenneth Stone of Bryan, Morris and Sharon Stone of Parkersburg, W. Va.; two daughters, Melody Tyson of Granfield, Okla., Judy Stone of Bryan; four brothers, Walter Kraatz of Fort Worth, Joe Kraatz of Mesquite, Texas, Ronald Kraatz of Connecticut, Willie Kraatz of Wilmington, Del.; three sisters, Christine White of Abilene, Margie Chaney of Brady, Texas, Roslyn Hudgins of Bolinger; 12 grandchildren and one-great grandchild.

Milton Walter Krause
Aug. 7, 1933 — Oct. 18, 2000

BRENHAM — Services for Milton Walter Krause, 67, of Brenham are set for 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham. The Rev. J. Elliott Pancoast and the Rev. Lawrence Bade will officiate. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham.

Mr. Krause died Wednesday at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan.

He was born in Prairie Hill, Texas. He attended Brenham Public Schools. He earned an associate’s degree from Blinn College and bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Sam Houston State University. He was a past assistant superintendent of the Brenham Independent School District.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Krause of Brenham, a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Jane Krause of Navasota; daughters and sons-in-law, Allison and Dennis Crowson and Rebecca and Ron Mertz, all of Brenham; ten grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law, Burney Krause and Ervin and Ella Mae Krause, all of Brenham; a sister, Delores Walker; and mother-in-law, Ruth Baskin.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Building Fund or Blinn College Scholarship Fund.

Ferman Clinton Mullins
July 20, 1921 — Oct. 19, 2000

HEARNE — Services for Ferman Clinton Mullins, 79, of Hearne are set for 1 p.m. Saturday at Heartfield Funeral Home in Hearne. The Rev. Larry Blackmon of First Baptist Church in Hearne will officiate. Burial will be in Norwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Mullins died Thursday in Bremond Nursing Center.

He was born in Easterly, Texas. He was a watchmaker. He was a member of the 0-49ers club of the First Baptist Church in Hearne.

Survivors include two brothers and a sister-in-law, Darrell Lee and Virginia Mullins of San Antonio, Kenneth Wayne Mullins of Anahuac, Texas; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruby Lund of Hearne, Grace Schulze of San Antonio, Faye and Roland Pardo of Irving, Texas, Edna and William E. Vinton of Hearne; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ludie B. Burns
March 15, 1926 — Oct. 15, 2000

CALDWELL — Services for Ludie B. Burns, 74, of Caldwell are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Macedonia Baptist Church in Caldwell. The Rev. Calvin Arnold will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Caldwell.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. Friday at Jones Funeral Home Chapel in Caldwell.

Mrs. Burns died Sunday at Lancaster Medical Center. She was born in Paris, Texas, and was a member of Galilee Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Cleveland Burns, Sr. of Caldwell; four sons and daughters-in-law, Reginald and Betsy Smith, Anthony and Gwendolyn Burns, Cleveland Burns, Jr. and Ronald and Lela Burns; all of Dallas; four daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce Figgers and Hubert Robbie Burns Delley, Agnes Burns Mitchell and Ricky, Sonja Burns-Walker and Kevin; all of Dallas; two brothers, Johnnie and Plinia Sherman and C.B. Sherman; one sister, Ruby Waters, 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Ransom Pittman Jr.
Dec. 18, 1916 — Oct. 15, 2000

CALDWELL — Services for Ransom Pittman Jr., 83, of Caldwell are set for 1 p.m. Saturday at Goodwill Baptist Church in the Teal Prairie Community. The Rev. J.T. Wilson of Second Bethel Church, Los Cruz, N.M., will officiate. Burial will be at the church cemetery .

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Jones-Washington Mortuary in Bryan.
Mr. Pittman died Sunday at Burleson St. Joseph.

He was born in Burleson County. He was a member of the Goodwill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Jannie Pittman of Bryan; two sons, Ransom Pittman, III of Seattle, the Rev. Lonzo Pittman of East Palo Alto, Calif.; three brothers, Ernest Pittman of Phoenix, Earl Williams of Waco, O.C. Pittman of Caldwell; one sister, Goldie Wilson of Caldwell; and numerous grandchildren.

Tom Novosad
Aug. 7, 1930 — Oct. 18, 2000

LORENA, Texas — Graveside services for Tom Novosad, 70, of Lorena are set for 10 a.m. Saturday at Providence Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday with family present from 5 to 8 p.m. at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell.

Mr. Novosad died Wednesday at his home.

He was born in Burleson County. He was a farmer and rancher. Mr. Novosad left Burleson County and moved to the Houston area for a long time. He then moved to McLennon County in 1994. He was the former owner of the Country Cafe in Elm Mott, Texas.

Survivors include his two sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Pat Novosad of Caldwell, Ted and Sherry Novosad of La Porte, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Roy Zingelmann of Salado, Texas; two brothers, Billy Jon Novosad of Sugar Land, Texas, and Delbert Novosad of Pasadena, Texas.

Adrian Gonzalez Jr.
Oct. 18, 2000 — Oct. 18, 2000

Graveside services for Adrian Gonzalez Jr., infant, of Bryan are set for 10 a.m. Friday at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The Rev. Victor Robles of Santa Teresa Catholic Church in Bryan will officiate.

Local arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.
Adrian died Wednesday in Temple, Texas.

Survivors include his parents, Rebecca Urbano and Adrian Gonzalez Sr. of Bryan; grandparents, Crispian and Mary Urbano of Bryan, Juan Gonzalez, Esperanza Montanez, both of Mexico, great-grandparents, Albert and Christina Urbano, of Mexico; and numerous uncles and aunts.

Sheldon Wayne Johnson

Mr. Johnson died Oct. 10 at his home.

He was born in Houston. He had attended Houston Independent School District. He worked at Sanderson Farms.

Survivors include a son, DeAngelo DeWayne Johnson of Washington; his parents, Sharon and Samuel Johnson of Houston; five brothers, Sam Johnson Jr., Wayne Johnson, William Johnson, Willie Johnson, Wendell Johnson, all of Houston; and two grandmothers, Christine Henderson and Evelyn Pauley, both of Houston.

Fina Palermo Sache

Services for Fina Palermo Sache, 94, of Bryan are set for 2 p.m. Friday at Callaway-Jones Chapel. Deacon Ellis Abraham of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Mrs. Sache died Wednesday at Sherwood Health Care.

She was born in Burleson County. She was a member of the Altar Society and St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. She was a resident of Bryan for 78 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross Sache.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Sam and Mary Palermo and Luke and Katherine Palermo Jr., all of Bryan; one daughter and son-in-law, Frances and Charlie Dileo of Bryan; a stepson, Joe Palermo of Bryan; four stepdaughters, A.E. Cocke of Austin, Kate Barrington of Bryan, Agnes Landis of New Jersey, Mary Titus of Houston; a brother, Tony Urso of College Station; a sister, Josephine Maggelito of Houston; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Genevieve Nina Necessary Guild Rogers

HARKER HEIGHTS, Texas — Graveside services for Genevieve Nina Necessary Guild Rogers, 88, of Harker Heights are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. Dr. Wesley Wellborn will officiate.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Mrs. Rogers died Wednesday in Indian Oaks Living Center in Harker Heights.

She was born in Meeker, Okla. She attended Oklahoma City University. She was a secretary for Bob Rogers Insurance Agency. Mrs. Rogers was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Brenham.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Smith Rogers.

Survivors include her son, Robert Charles Rogers of St. Louis.; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy Rogers and Dennis Holle of Belton; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, James Necessary of Louisiana; one sister, Evelyn Greenman of Harker Heights; and numerous nieces and nephews.
