Services for Elouise Copeland, 65, of Palestine will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo with the Rev. Kenneth Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in Russell Cemetery in Leon County.

Mrs. Copeland died Sunday morning in Palestine.

Elmer Lewis French

Funeral arrangements for Elmer Lewis French, 95, of Fairfield are pending at Capps Memorial Chapel in Fairfield.

Mr. French died Thursday at his residence in Fairfield.

Lawrence H. Seeley

Funeral arrangements for Lawrence H. Seeley, 68, of Latexo are pending at Bailey & Foster, Grapeland.

Mr. Seeley died Monday at his residence.

Betty Sue Peters

Mrs. Peters died this morning in Dallas.

Lawrence H. Seeley

Services for Lawrence H. Seeley, 68, of Latexo will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Latexo Cemetery with the Rev. Albert Cortez officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster, Grapeland.

Mr. Seeley died Monday at his residence.

Condolence calls will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

P.H. Williams

Mr. Williams died this morning at Palestine Regional Medical Center.

Services for Betty Sue Peters, 73, of Grapeland will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Felders Chapel Assembly of God Church with the Revs. Randy Shipman and Morris Ivey officiating. Burial will follow in Davis Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster.

Mrs. Peters died Tuesday at Hospice Home Place in Tyler.

Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

Louise Frantzen

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Emanuel Ross

Services for Emanuel Ross, 88, of Tennessee Colony will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Hope Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the New Hope II Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Emanuel Funeral Home.

Mr. Ross died Saturday in Mesquite.

Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Ollie Kenneth Manning

Services for Ollie Kenneth Manning, 66, of Fowler,  Calif., and formerly of Oakwood, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Union United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at the Pine Top Cemetery in Oakwood. Arrangements are under the direction of Emanuel Funeral Home.

Mr. Manning died on Monday in Fresno,  Calif.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Lenzy "L.K." Pouncy

Services for Lenzy "L.K." Pouncy will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Morrison Day Funeral Home, 1700 Evans Ave. in Fort Worth.

Mr. Pouncy died Tuesday.

He is survived locally by brother, F.E. Pouncy of Palestine.

P.H. Williams
1-22-2004
Services for P.H. Williams, 95, of Montalba will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Dan Manuel and Terry Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.

Mr. Williams died Wednesday morning at Palestine Regional Medical Center.

He was born Aug. 21, 1908 in the Bradford community to Chesley Graham Williams and Cora Holland Williams.

Mr. Williams was a member of the Gray's Chapel Church of Christ. He was a merchant and rancher. From 1930 to 1945 he owned and operated the Bradford Store, and in 1945 until retirement he was the owner-operator of the Montalba Store.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Evelyn Carroll; and brother, Clifton Williams.

Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Clara Richardson Williams of Montalba; daughters, Jane Patton and Emma Collins, both of Montalba; son, Graham Williams of Montalba; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Troy Collins, Travis Collins, Tony Collins, Allen Patton, Jeff Williams, Bradley Williams and Barry Williams.

Condolence calls will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Medina Children's Home, HCR 16 Box 75, Medina,  Texas 78055.

Leslie L. "Les" Vannatta
1-22-2004
Leslie L. "Les" Vannatta, 70, of Clovis, N.M., died Wednesday at his home in Clovis. He was born Nov. 11, 1933, in Oakwood,  Texas, to Leslie Edward and Myrtle  Johnson Vannatta. He married Carrie "Beth"  Jones on Aug. 12, 1959, in Oakwood.

He worked as a teacher and high school football coach in Oakwood, then as a juvenile probation officer for four years in Houston,  Texas. He then went to the F.B.I. Academy in 1964 and became a special agent working in Salt Lake City, Utah; California; Monterey,  Calif.; Farmington, N.M. then to Clovis, N.M. where he retired in 1987. He was a member of the Clovis-Portales Elks Lodge and First Christian Church of Oakwood. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, playing cards with his wife and attending his grandchildren's sporting events.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at The Chapel 1500 Thornton with Wayne Baker officiating in Clovis.

Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Harrington, Tommy Townsend, D. Bailey, Bryan Vannatta, Lee McKinney, Ernie Paro, Doug Drake, Steve Yen, Bill Prince, Al Barr, Leon Blakeney, Don Weatherman, Bill Rives, Granny Long, Jimmy Williams, Steve Brown and Lewis Yarborough.

A service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at First Christian Church in Oakwood with the Rev. Doug Stevens officiating.

Pallbearers will be Harlan Frymire, Charles Price, Mac O. Johnson, F.G. Lipsey, Andy Vannatta, Fred and Rex Magourik and Donald Seale. Burial will follow at Oakwood City Cemetery.

Survivors are his wife, Beth Vannatta; one daughter, Jo Beth Vannatta of Phoenix, Ariz.; sons, Tom and wife Patti Vannatta of Phoenix, Ariz., Charles and his wife Kay Vannata of Clovis, N.M.; one brother, Mac E. Vannatta of Oakwood; one nephew, Michael Vannatta of Houston; one special cousin, Joya Lipsey of Oakwood; grandchildren, Bryan, Lexi, Leslie Joe and Shelby Vannatta. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice. Arrangements are by Mufley Funeral Home Inc. of Clovis, N.M.

Dennis Young

Services for Dennis Young, 53, of Coffee City will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with the Rev. Eric Young officiating. Burial will follow in Perry Starr Cemetery.

Mr. Young died Sunday at his residence.

He was born Jan. 26, 1950 in Waxahachie to Lonnie Dennis Young and Evelyn Starr Young.

Mr. Young was a retired mechanic from Union Pacific Railroad. He attended the Assembly of God Church.

He was preceded in death by his father; sister, Kathy Ann Young; and grandson, Deegan Fouse.

Mr. Young is survived by his wife, Kelly Young of Coffee City; mother, Evelyn Young of Palestine; son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Amanda Young of California; daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Tim Fouse of Chandler; granddaughter, Kyndle Fouse of Chandler; brothers, Jacky Young of Frankston and Davy Young of Palestine; brother-in-law, Allen Pruitt of Coffee City; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jessie and Betty Pruitt of Coffee City.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Young, Cody Young, Danny Young, Tim Fouse, Allen Pruitt and Charles Starr. Honorary pallbearer will be Phil McKnight.

Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

William Mosley

Ethel Massie Mitchell

Services for Ethel Massie Mitchell, 87, of Henderson will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Crawford-Crim-Bryan Chapel in Henderson. Burial will follow at Davis Cemetery.

Mrs. Mitchell died Monday in Henderson.

She was born Feb. 22, 1916, in Alba.

Mrs. Mitchell was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a homemaker.

She is survived by daughter-in-law, May Mitchell of Montalba; brothers, John Massie of Houston and James Massie of Henderson; sisters, Ruth Stohr of Houston and Hazel Broadway of Mineola; grandchildren, Melanie Pickle and Ahearn of Montalba and Jaine Reddock and Andy of Marble Falls; and great-grandchildren, Sara Pickle, Kent Pickle, Madison Reddock and Paden Reddock.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

L.C. "Larry" Grasty

Services for L.C. "Larry" Grasty, 71, of Granbury will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mambrino Baptist Church in Hood County. Burial will follow at Nubbin Ridge Cemetery in Hood County.

Mr. Grasty died Monday in Granbury.

He was born April 30, 1932, in Palestine, to Leonard and Ruby Conoway Grasty.

Mr. Grasty married Ann Campbell on Sept. 6, 1998, in  Whitehouse. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a longtime Hood County resident and a member of Mambrion Baptist Church. He also was on the board of directors for the Comanche Cove Owners Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Harold N. Grasty.

Mr. Grasty is survived by his wife, Ann C. Grasty of Granbury; daughters, Linda Susan Grasty McCoy (Terry E.) of Dennis, and Kay Lynn Grasty Moths (Kevin) of Charlotte, N.C.; son, Larry Clay Grasty (Maggie) of  White Settlement; stepchildren, Brenda Kelly (John) of Odessa, and Don Stull (Valessa) of Lubbock; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Roy L. Grasty (Joyce) of Palestine; and sister, Fonda Jordan of Colorado City,  Texas.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. tonight at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury.

Memorials may be made to Mambrino Baptist Church Building Fund.
