SHEPHERD, Texas Services for Lillian Virginia Day Ary, 89, of Shepherd were held May 21 at First Baptist Church in Recreation Acres in Houston.
Burial was in Leakey Cemetery in Leakey, Texas.
Mrs. Ary died May 19 in Shepherd.
She was born in Philadelphia, Miss. She was a retired registered nurse. She was a past matron in the Order of Eastern Star Bryan Chapter #222 and a volunteer in the Mission Service Corp.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thurston Ary.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Becky Ary of Shepherd; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services for James O. Vessels, 86, of Bryan are set for 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bryan.
The Rev. John McCaffrey will officiate. Entombment will be in Msgr. Gleissner Mausoleum in Bryan.
Visitation will be from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday. A rosary was recited at 6:30 p.m. Wed-nesday at the funeral chapel.
Mr. Vessels died Tuesday at St. Joseph Regional Health Center.
He was born in Fancy Farm, Ky., and moved to Bryan 1969. He was a retired mail clerk for the Bryan school district. He worked for Lone Star Gas Co. for 25 years. He was an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 1834 and a 20-year member of the St. Joseph Ushers Club at St. Joseph Church.
Survivors include his wife, Emily Vessels of Bryan; two sons, James E. Vessels of Blooming Grove, Texas, and John F. Vessels of Dallas; five daughters and three sons-in-law, Rita Ann and Mackey McCaghren of Mount Calm, Texas, Mary Jane and Jesse Lenderman of Memphis, Texas, Cathy Jean Vessels of Bryan, Rose Marie Vessels of Bryan and Caroline T. and Ben Mitchell of Tucson, Ariz.; one brother, John Robert Vessels of Fancy Farm; two sisters, Genrose Vessels of Fancy Farm and Barbara Rose Vessels of Seattle; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was born in Houston. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Annes Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rodolfo Gonzalas.

Services for Shirley Agnes Arledge Conoley, 85, of Bryan are set for 3 p.m. Thursday at Pleasant Retreat Church near Taylor, Texas.
The Rev. Ray L. Reed of the Thorndale Circuit will officiate. Burial will precede the service in the Pleasant Retreat Church Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan.
Mrs. Conoley died Wednesday at Bryton Inn Health Center in Bryan.
She was a farmer and rancher.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle Knox Conoley.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Don Lewis of College Station; one brother and sister-in-law, Conrad and Gussie Arledge of Taylor; two sisters, Grace Schroeder of Austin and Dartha Dickinson of Jourdanton, Texas; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Russell died Wednesday in Bryan.
He was born in Jones Prairie, Texas, and lived in Hearne for 60 years. He was a truck driver for Wilbur-Ellis fertilizer company in Hearne.
He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Hearne, Golden Rule Masonic Lodge #361 in Hearne and the Franklin Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and a 32nd-degree Scottish Rite Mason.
Survivors include three sons and one daughter-in-law, John Russell of Phoenix, Marvin and Sue Russell of Magnolia, Texas, and Jeffery Russell of Hearne; one daughter and son-in-law, Leanne and Thomas Fretwell of Round Rock, Texas; and three grandchildren.

He was born in Yatesboro, Pa. He attended the University of Houston and served in the Army-Air Corps during World War II and the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He worked for the Houston Museum of Science.
Survivors include his wife, Dr. Eileen C. Wuycheck of Brenham; two stepsons, Dr. Michael Champ and Charles Champ; one brother, Frank Wuycheck of Youngstown, Ohio; four sisters, Mary Wolsonovich, Jane McCarthy, Susan Berk and Bea Buffone; and several grandchildren.

She was born in Cross, Texas, and was a member of the Iola Missionary Baptist Church. She worked as a nurse and previously served as Worthy Matron of the Iola Chapter of Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Thomas Edmunds and Ellis Byars.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Kowis of Pangburn; a son and daughter-in-law, Conny and Emily Edmunds of San Antonio; a sister, Willie Dot Isbell of Iola; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
