Harold D. Henniger Sr.
March 12, 1928 — May 13, 2000

MIDWEST CITY, Okla. — Graveside services for Harold D. Henniger Sr., 72, of Midwest City are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday in Arlington Memory Gardens in Midwest City.
Chaplain Anderson will officiate. Burial will be with full military honors.

Arrangements are under the direction of Paylor Funeral Home in Midwest City.

Mr. Henniger died Saturday.

He was born in Havana, Ill., and retired from the Air Force in 1971 and from Civil Service in 1993. He was married in Bryan in 1954.

Survivors include his wife, Nelda Schulz Henniger; three children, Darrell, Carol “Sis” and Harold Jr. and wife Noemi; a brother and sister-in-law, Walter F. and Carol Henniger of Easton, Ill.; and a grandchild.

Hayward Allen Moncrief
March 21, 1905 — April 28, 2000

THORNTON, Texas — Services for Hayward Allen Moncrief, 95, of Groesbeck were held May 1 at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home in Thornton.

The Rev. James Gibbs of Central Baptist Church in Thornton officiated. Burial was in Kosse Cemetery in Kosse, Texas.
Mr. Moncrief died April 28 in SunBridge Care and Rehabilitation Care in Groesbeck.

He was born in Kosse and was a past worshipful master of the Eutaw Masonic Lodge No. 233 in Kosse, the Brazos Union Lodge No. 129 in Bryan and the Sul Ross Masonic Lodge No. 1300 in College Station. He taught school in Rolls and Mexia before becoming employed by the Soil Conservation Service. He then entered military service during World War II, reaching the rank of lieutenant colonel. After his military service, he was employed as a Veteran Service Officer in Bryan.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Winfred Howard Moncrief.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Billie Jo Bennett and Mrs. Flora Sharp; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Eutaw Masonic Lodge No. 233, P.O. Box 266, Kosse, Texas 76653 to create a scholarship for a graduating senior of Groesbeck High School.

Ja’Lyria S. Palmer
Feb. 10, 2000 — May 11, 2000

NAVASOTA — Graveside services for Ja’Lyria S. Palmer, 3 months, of Navasota are set for 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Stonehamville Cemetery in Stoneham.

The Rev. Charles Byrd will officiate.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Jones Funeral Home in Navasota.

Ja’Lyria died Thursday.

Survivors include her parents, Francis Shantel Carrington and John R. Palmer Jr., both of Stoneham; two brothers, Darrian Dontrell and Delvin De Shawn, both of Stoneham; a step-brother, Jaylan Jamon Palmer of Navasota; grandparents, Ruth A. Carrington, John R. Palmer Sr. and Dallester Palmer, all of Stoneham, and Joe F. Carrington of Montgomery, Texas; and great-grandparents, Norella Ruckett of Plantersville, Littiecq Palmer of Stoneham, and Ernest J. Nickerson and Velma L. Nickerson, both of Willis, Texas.

Hannah Schaefer Schafstall
July 30, 1910 — May 14, 2000

NAVASOTA — Services for Hannah Schaefer Schafstall, 89, of Navasota are set for 3 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Navasota.

The Rev. Donald Kasper of Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Church Cemetery in Anderson.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lindley-Robertson-Holt Funeral Home in Navasota and from 2 p.m. to the time of the services Wednesday at the church.

Mrs. Schafstall died Sunday in Southwood Nursing Home.
She was born in Grimes County and had lived in Navasota for 25 years. She formerly lived in College Station and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was retired as a cafeteria employee with A&M Consolidated High School.

Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Herbert and Esther Schaefer of Nederland, Texas; three sisters-in-law, Clara Schaefer of College Station, Bea Schaefer of Grand Saline, Texas, and Clara Jarvis of Iola; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marian Randermann Wehmeyer
July 4, 1933 — May 14, 2000

BRENHAM — Services for Marian Randermann Wehmeyer, 66, of Brenham are set for 4 p.m. Wednesday at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Salem, Texas.

The Revs. Charles Treptow and Bill Derrick will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery .

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham.

Mrs. Wehmeyer died Sunday in M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston.

She was born in Sandy Hill, Texas, and was a member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was a nurse at St. Francis Hospital, Bohne Memorial Hospital and Trinity Medical Center for 24 years. She was also a private duty nurse.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Wehmeyer Jr.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Pam Wehmeyer of Tomball, Texas, and James and Sharon Wehmeyer of Brenham; three daughters and a son-in-law, Mary Wehmeyer and Rhonda Wehmeyer, both of Brenham, and Connie and Alan Hohlt of Burton; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Bernita Meyer of Brenham and Maurine and Clyde Gibson of San Antonio; eight sisters-in-law and five brothers-in-law, Mabel Randermann Bosse, Hortense Randermann Rhodes, Dorothy and Lonnie Addicks, Ora Nell and Ervin Parker, JoAnn Lorenz, Judy and Richard Stephens, Clarence and Frances Wehmeyer and Lenert and Becky Wehmeyer; and six grandsons.

Memorials may be made to Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church or Trinity Medical Center.

Olga Julia Lawrence
Aug. 15, 1911 — May 11, 2000

SNOOK — Services for Olga Julia Lawrence, 88, were held Saturday in Snook Brethren Church.

The Rev. Joseph Polasek and the Rev. Henry Beseda officiated. Burial was in Snook Cemetery.

Mrs. Lawrence died Thursday in Sherwood Health Care Facility in Bryan.

She was born in Merle, Texas. She married Richard (Bill) Lawrence in 1929. She was a member of Snook Brethren Church. She owned Lawrence Grocery Store and Exxon station in Snook from 1948 to 1995.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard (Bill) Lawrence.

Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, LaNelle and Joe Junek of Tunis, Texas, and Alice Faye Stein of Bryan; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Clem and Mary Lednicky of Lyons, Fred and Rita Lednicky of Temple, Texas, Alois and Effie Lednicky of Houston, Lee and Betty Lednicky of Houston, Adolph Lednicky of Porter and Elizabeth Lednicky of Snook; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to Snook Brethren Church or to the Snook Brethren Christian Sisters.

Arrangements were under the direction of Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell.

Tinsye Ball
April 1, 1907 — May 14, 2000

Services for Tinsye Ball, 93, of Bryan are set for 10 a.m. Thursday at Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan.

Dr. Tim Owens of First Baptist Church of Bryan will officiate. Burial will be in Bryan City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ball died Sunday at Sherwood Health Care Facility in Bryan.

She was born in Godley, Texas, and lived in Bryan for 60 years. She was a homemaker and a member of the Republican Party and of First Baptist Church of Bryan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Amos Terrell Ball.

Survivors include four daughters and two sons-in-law, Marjorie Brannen of Luling, La., Lynda and Bill Wallace of Houston, Martha and Bill Watkins of Bryan and Suellen Dooley of Bryan; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Gideon Living Memorial Bible Plan in LaPlace, La.

Ellen Bernice Washburn
Feb. 7, 1910 — May 16, 2000

MADISONVILLE — Services for Ellen Bernice Washburn, 90, of Madisonville are set for 2 p.m. Thursday at Madisonville Funeral Home.

The Rev. David Washburn will officiate. Burial will be in Allphin Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m.

Mrs. Washburn died Tuesday in a nursing home in Madisonville.

She was born in Madison County and lived in Madisonville for 20 years. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Madisonville.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Willie O. Mosley.

Survivors include her husband, Walter A. Washburn of Madisonville; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Wendell O. and Anita Mosley of Houston, Joe M. and Judy Mosley of The Woodlands, Billy Earl Mosley of Houston and John Wayne Mosley of Houston; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nelda R. and Gerald Murphy of Madisonville and Mary and C.P. White of Natchitoches, La.; two step-sons and one step-daughter-in-law, David and Carol Washburn of Cuero, Texas, and Jimmie C. Washburn of New Orleans; two brothers, Jessie Catoe of Montgomery, Texas, and Gene Catoe of New Baden, Texas; three sisters, Emma Woods of Houston, Ruby Catoe of Houston and Ethel Goforth of Cleveland, Texas; 23 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Wilma Burford
March 11, 1909 — March 14, 2000

PASADENA, Texas — Services for Wilma Burford, 91, of Las Vegas are set for 2 p.m. Friday at Pasadena Funeral Chapel in Pasadena, Texas.

John Iverson will officiate. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday.

Mrs. Burford was born in Franklin and lived in Bryan before moving to Las Vegas. She was a retired office receptionist and a member of Twin City Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Burford.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, James and Kathy, M.D., Burford of Las Vegas; two brothers and sisters-in-law, L.B. and Theresa Burch of La Porte, Texas, and Ellis and Dorothy Burch of Stafford, Texas; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Faye and Jack Pack of Houston and Freddie Keys of Houston; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Carl E. ‘Pat’ Olsen
Aug. 3, 1902 — May 11, 2000

Graveside services for Carl. E. “Pat” Olsen, 97, of Kingwood, Texas, are set for 10 a.m. Saturday at College Station Cemetery.

The Rev. Craig Borchardt will officiate.

Mr. Olsen died Thursday in Kingwood.

He was born in Clifton, Texas. He played baseball for Texas A&M University and graduated in 1923. He played for the New York Yankees for two years.

In 1927, he established Gearench Manufacturers, which manufactured tools for mining, plastic, chemical, oil and atomic industries.

He threw out the first pitch of the 1984 World Series. He is a member of the Texas A&M Athletic Hall of Fame, Distinguished Alumni and Baseball Hall of Fame, and a member of the Yankee Alumni Club, Who’s Who of the Southwest, International Who’s Who, Houston Petroleum Club and Brazos Union Masonic Lodge #129. Texas A&M’s Olsen Field baseball stadium was dedicated March 21, 1978.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Duncan Olsen.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, C. Edwin Jr. and Frances Olsen of Las Vegas, Nev.; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to charities of choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan.
