Graveside services for Gussie Free Cavender, 81, formerly of Brazos County are set for 1 p.m. Friday at the College Station City Cemetery.

The Rev. David Rowland of First Baptist Church in College Station will officiate.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to noon Friday at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan.

Mrs. Cavender died Wednesday in Waco.

She was born in the Brazos County and had resided in Waco for the past 20 years.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Bea Arnapole of Hawaii; a daughter, Gayle Brannon of Waco; three step-daughters, Alice and Thomas Bryan of Burkburnett, Patricia Russell of Ft. Worth, and Helen Holmes of Georgia; a step-son, Thomas Cavender of Washington; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Velma and Ruben Liner of Claremore, Okla., Eula Pearl Gossett and Linda and Loy Lawson, all of Waco; a sister-in-law, Mary Jo Free of Bryan; two grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Nettie Curlee
March 27, 1911 — April 25, 2000

ROCKDALE —Services for Nettie Curlee, 89, of Minerva are set for 10 a.m. Saturday at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

The Rev. Bobby Jones of Mt. Zion Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Minerva Cemetery in Minerva.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Ms. Curlee died Tuesday at Cameron Nursing Home in Cameron.

She was born in Thorndale, Texas, was a teacher in Milam County, an orthodontist assistant, and retired from Tom Thumb as manager of the deli in Dallas.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Bobbie and John Crawford of Spring; a brother, W.F. Ledwell of Minerva; and three grandchildren.

Mildred Miriam Kennedy
June 14, 1912 — April 26, 2000

Services for Mildred Miriam Kennedy, 87, of Bryan are set for 10 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.

The Rev. John McCaffrey of St. Joseph Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. at Brookside Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to the time of services Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Kennedy died Wednesday at Sherwood Health Care.
She was born in New York, N.Y., was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and retired with Lever Brothers.

Survivors include her husband, Charles “Jack” Kennedy of Bryan; a son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Dawn Kennedy of Bryan; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Marie and Tokir Mir of Bryan, Miriam and Donald Fisher and Lynette Kennedy, all of Houston; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Memorials may be given to St. Joseph Catholic Church building fund in Bryan.

Fred Koehne
June 29, 1938 — April 27, 2000

BRENHAM —Services for Fred Koehne, 61, of Chappell Hill, Texas, are set for 10 a.m. Saturday in Christ Lutheran Church in Brenham.

The Rev. Blair Lundborg will officiate. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham.

Mr. Koehne died Thursday in Trinity Medical Center in Brenham.

He was born in Rocky Hill, Texas, was employed by Matt Graham Corp. as a welder, machine operator and supervisor. He was also employed at City Auto Store.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Koehne of the Wonder Hill Community; a daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Scott Mount of Austin; a son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Angie Stickley of Brenham; two grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, David and Carol Koehne of Brenham; sisters and brothers-in-law, Loyce Murray of Brenham and Margie and Travis Rosenbaum of Burton; mother-in-law, Elsie Tegeler of Wonder Hill; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Barry Blum of Bryan and Lonnie and Barbara Tegeler of Brenham; and aunts and uncles, Minnie Lange, Rufus and Annie Lange and Alvina Niemeyer; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Memorials may be given to Christ Lutheran Church of Christ Lutheran Day School.

Mary Emily O’Neal
March 28, 1926 — April 26, 2000

NAVASOTA —Services for Mary Emily O’Neal, 74, of Baytown are set for 10 a.m. Saturday at Navarre Funeral Home in Baytown.

The Revs. Gordon Barnett and Brance Moyer will officiate. Graveside services are 3 p.m. Saturday at Wheat Cemetery in Millican, Texas.

Ms. O’Neal died Wednesday in Baytown.She was born in College Station, was a homemaker and a member of First Methodist Church of Houston.

Survivors include four sons and three daughters-in-law, Robert and Charlene O’Neal and James and Connie O’Neal, all of Highlands, Texas, Charles O’Neal of Baytown and Jerry and Ok-Im O’Neal of Houston; a daughter, Denise Gonzalez of Baytown; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ivra Goodwyn
June 23, 1909 — April 22, 2000

CENTERVILLE —Services for Ivra Goodwyn, 90, of Centerville are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at the Two-Mile Methodist Church in Leona.

The Rev. Carey Cauley will officiate. Burial will be in Two-Mile Paradise Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Walters Funeral Home in Centerville.

Mrs. Goodwyn died Saturday in Centerville.

She was born in Leona, was a homemaker and a member of the Two-Mile Methodist Church in Leona.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leyman Goodwyn.

She is survived by a granddaughter; two great-granddaughters; and by her brother, H.L. Hopkins.

Nadine Dean
June 17, 1947 —April 27, 2000

MADISONVILLE —Services for Nadine Dean, 52, of Madisonville are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Madisonville Funeral Home.

Lanier Stevens will officiate. Burial will be in Willowhole Cemetery in North Zulch.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. and from 8 a.m. to the time of services Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Dean died Thursday in Houston.

She was born in Madisonville, worked for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice as an accounting clerk and was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Madisonville.

Survivors include her husband, Billy Dean of Madisonville; her father, Percy Spiller of Madisonville; a son, Slade Dean of Madisonville; and a daughter, Ann Dean of Madisonville.

Jack Mainer Risinger
Dec. 13, 1909 — April 26, 2000

MADISONVILLE —Services for Jack Mainer Risinger, 90, of Somerville are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at the J.M. Day Funeral Home Chapel in Madisonville.

The Rev. Joel Strickland will officiate. Burial will be in Greenbriar Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Risinger died Wednesday at St. Joseph Regional Health Care Center in Bryan.

He was born in Madisonville and was a member of the Bible Baptist Church of Galveston.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Barrett Risinger; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Hettie and Don Grelen and Deborah and Parker Biggs, all of Bryan, and Jacqueline Brahm and Rhonda and Don Wilcox, all of Galveston; a son, Richard Risinger of Somerville; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Beddie and Oscar Moffatt; numerous nieces and nephews; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Essie Swain
April 4, 1917 — April 24, 2000

ROCKDALE —Services for Essie Swain, 83, of Cameron are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Bro. Lee Telischak will officiate. Burial will be in Cameron Rest Cemetery in Cameron.

Mrs. Swain died Monday at Central Texas Hospital in Cameron.

She was born in Milam County, Texas, was a homemaker and a member of Jehovah’s Kingdom Hall of in Cameron for over 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, L.T. Swain.
She is survived by four nieces and four nephews.

Alcie L. Chaddock
April 30. 1918 — April 27, 2000

ROCKDALE —Services for Alcie L. Chaddock, 81, of Gay Hill Community, are set for 10 a.m. Monday at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

The Rev. Weldon Belew of Rockdale Christian Church will officiate. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Chaddock died Thursday in a Temple Hospital.

She was a homemaker, a member of the Rockdale Christian Church, a member of the “Busy Bees” Club, and a member of the 1936 Rockdale High School Girls Basketball Team which placed 2nd in State.

Survivors include her husband, Henry Chaddock of Rockdale; a son and daughter-in-law, Douglas E. and Barbara Chaddock of Pasadena; three daughters and sons-in-law, Jerrell Dean and Jerry Parkerson of Bilboa, Spain, Kathryn J. and Charles Bryant of Dallas, and Judy E. and Randy Robbins of Houston; a brother, Clyde Holliman of Rockdale; three sisters, Mary Fails of San Antonio, and Ruth Robinson and Ruby Ellis, both of Rockdale; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Rosabelle E. Snohr
Dec. 5, 1907 — April 26, 2000

Graveside services for Rosabelle E. Snohr, 92, of College Station are set for 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Matthew’s Catholic Cemetery in Suttons Bay, Mich.

The Rev. Wayne Dziekan of St. Michael’s Catholic Church will officiate.

Ms. Snohr died Wednesday in the College Station Medical Center.

She was born in Sutton’s Bay, Mich., earned a MS Degree in Social Work from the University of Chicago and was a devout Catholic.

Survivors include her brother-in-law, Norman Waggoner of Bryan; two nephews; and a niece.

Lydia Ruth Beckmeyer
May 2, 1905 — April 27, 2000

Services for Lydia Ruth Beckmeyer, 94, of Bryan are set for 2 p.m. Sunday at Bethel Lutheran Church in Bryan.

The Rev. Neil Bockelmann of Bethel Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Giddings City Cemetery in Giddings, Texas.

Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday and from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan and from 1 p.m. to the time of the services Sunday at the church.

Mrs. Beckmeyer died Thursday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center.

She was born in Fayette County, Texas, and had lived in Bryan since 1970. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard H. Beckmeyer.

Survivors include three sisters, Alma Durow of Port Arthur, Texas, Hattie Fischer of Giddings and Ruth Hempel of Mc Gregor, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church, Lutheran Hour Ministries or to a charity of choice.
