Services for Helen Bruton, 81, of Frankston will be at 10 a.m. today at Poynor Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Godwin, Jimmy Davis and Dean Bruton presiding. Burial will follow in Poynor Cemetery under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
Mrs. Bruton died Friday in Tyler.

Services for Emmeree Thornton, 86, of Palestine will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with the Rev. Kevin Willmott officiating. Burial will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mrs. Thornton died Thursday night at Palestine Health Care Center.
She was born July 14, 1916 in the Elmwood community to Richard and Cora Easley Conaway.
Mrs. Thornton worked on the assembly line for Curtis Mathis in Athens. She was a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rather Thornton; daughters, Jeanette Dingler and Katherine Dunnam; son, Eddie Thornton; and grandchildren, Steve Humphrey and Eddie Thornton Jr.
Mrs. Thornton is survived by son, James Thornton of Athens; sisters, Evelyn Pharis, Opal Warren and Faye Taylor, all of Palestine; brother, Jack Conaway of Frankston; grandchildren, Keen and Shelia Thornton, Tracy Thornton, Teri Fitzpatrick, Donna Barton, Bobby Dunnam, Cindy Dunnam, Dewayne and Kim Thornton, Donna Hutchison, Terry Thornton, and Jerry Thornton; 17 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Danny Conaway, Michael Johnson, Jim Bob Cutler, David Bolt, Mike Stewart and Rhett Barton.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
Alice Eleanor Dunnam

Services for Alice Eleanor Dunnam, 93, of Palestine will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with the Rev. Scott Dornbush officiating. Burial will be in Tennessee Colony Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mrs. Dunnam died Thursday at Cartmell Home for Aged.
She was born Dec. 27, 1909 in Deport to John Richard and Hattie Oliver Westbrook.
Mrs. Dunnam taught piano music and was the Tennessee Colony Church organist for a number of years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Spurgeon M. Dunnam Sr.; and four brothers.
Mrs. Dunnam is survived by daughter, Eleanor Ruth Amos of Elgin; sons, Spurgeon M. Dunnam Jr. of Longview and Harral Dunnam of College Station; sister, Anita Perkins of Plano; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jake Blake, Toby Ragsdale, Mark Amos and Paul Amos.
Gertrude Cooper

Services for Nellie Gertrude Cooper, 85, of Cameron, will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Strong Memorial Park with the Rev. Floyd Petersen officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Miss Cooper died Wednesday at a Cameron nursing home.
She was born on Jan. 28, 1918 near Wolfton, S.C., the third child of Norma Frances Rose Cooper and Thomas Watson Cooper. The family came to Amarillo in 1927 and resided there until 1959. After the death of her father, Gertrude and her mother lived at Bartlesville, Okla., with her brother W.T. "Bill" Cooper. In 1998, she and her brother moved to Cameron.
Miss Cooper was an innocent, sweet girl and a pleasure to all who knew her. She was loved and will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, T.G. Cooper, W.T. "Bill" Cooper and T.M. Cooper.
Miss Cooper is survived by sisters, Margaret Denson and husband Vernon of Cameron, Joyce Burch and her husband Dick of Greenville, Ohio and Anita Sills of Houston; several nieces and nephews; and two great nieces.

Mrs. Kennedy died Tuesday at Palestine Health Care Center.
She was born Dec. 14, 1904 in Slocum to Mack and Lizzie Halk Betsill. Mrs. Kennedy was a homemaker and a member of the Norwood Heights Baptist Church.
Mrs. Kennedy was preceded in death by her parents; husbands C.E. Cliburn, Roy Dear, and John Boyd Kennedy Sr.; brother, Lloyd Betsill; sister, Ola Mae Pheonix; stepsons John Boyd Kennedy Jr. and David Charlie Kennedy.
She is survived by stepdaughters, Diana Funderburk of Tow, Linda Pendland of Palestine, Nancy Curry of Jacksonville, Kay Denson and Annette Seckler, both of Elkhart, and Mary Seeber of Midland, Mich.; stepson, E.E. Kennedy of Lake Jackson; stepsisters, Nora Frazier of Houston, Emma Wade of San Antonio, and Cammie Morault of Springfield, Mass.; 38 grandchildren; 79 great-grandchildren; 30 great-great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren.

Patricia Ann Radford

Services for Patricia Ann Radford, 59, of Palestine will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Herrington/Land of Memory Chapel. Burial will follow at Land of Memory Cemetery.
Mrs. Radford died Monday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 8, 1943, in Buffalo, N.Y. to Clark and Dorthy Griffin.
Mrs. Radford was reared in New York and had lived in Palestine for 23 years. She was a Catholic. She had retired from Kroger Food Store and was currently working at Wal-Mart Supercenter.
She is survived by son, Thomas Joseph Radford Jr. of Houston; daughters, Darlene Radford, Debra Radford and Jeannie Radford, all of Palestine, and Dawn Radford Dent of Tucker; ex-husband, Thomas Joseph Radford of Palestine; special caring friend, Delisa Crawford; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Elmer Powell, Justin Kimball, Sidney Hawthorne and Chad Capehart.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Judith J. "Judy" Stewart

Judith J. "Judy" Stewart, 65, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, May 24, 2003. She was born Feb. 13, 1938 in Struthers, Ohio to Ruth and Alvin Katz. She had made her home in Palestine, Texas for the past 30 years.
Judy was a devoted member of Concord Baptist Church and a member of the Eastern Star. She was a former employee of Anderson County Beauty College and JC Penney of Palestine. She also owned and operated Stewart's Boarding Kennels for several years.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Willard N. Stewart.
She is survived by her stepfather, Dana C. Moore of Struthers, Ohio; her brother, Ronnie Katz of Struthers; two sons, Bruce Stewart of Texas City and his wife Cheryl, and Gordon Stewart of Mt. Pleasant, Utah and his wife Annie; four granddaughters; two great-grandsons; numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and many close friends.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 8 at Concord Baptist Church in Montalba. Mark Rogers will officiate. A fellowship will follow the service in the church fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the SPCA of Palestine or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
Marjorie "Margie" Jan Alexander

Marjorie "Margie" Jan Alexander went to join her husband Milton "Bud" in heaven on Sunday. Margie was born in Palestine on Aug. 24, 1922 to Albert Whitcomb and Ruby Alice Carter, the fifth of eight children.
Margie lived in Highland Haven since October 1982 and attended St. Charles Catholic Church in Kingsland for the past 20-plus years.
She was precede din death by brothers, Whitcomb Carter, Lester Carter and Robert Carter; sisters, Mary L. Carter Walker and Alice Carter Hublou.
Mrs. Alexander is survived by daughters, Pamela Moore of France and Cheryl Birdwell of Lorenzo; grandsons, Craig Aaron and wife Samantha, Kyle Aaron, Matthew Birdwell and Garrett Birdwell; great-grandsons, Tyler Aaron and Jacob Aaron; brother, Joe M. Carter of Houston; and sister and brother-in-law, Ruby F. and Vernon Alexander of Marble Falls; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to invite all of Margie's many relatives, friends and neighbors to a Memorial Mass to be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Charles Catholic Church in Kingsland.
The family would like to say a special thanks to Seton Highland Lakes Hospice, the nurses, the Helping Hands of Burnet who helped so much during Margie's last weeks. Also thanks to all of her friends who visited, called and prayed for Margie during her illness.

Mr. King died Sunday at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas.
He was born Dec. 12, 1973, in Lubbock to Don and Cheryl Peters Williams.
Mr. King attended the Evangelistic Temple. He served in the U.S. Army for two years and was a correctional officer for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, where he had worked for eight years.
Mr. King is survived by his wife, Deana King of Palestine; daughter, Paige Roberts of Palestine; son, Stone Roberts of Palestine; his parents, Don and Cheryl Williams of Palestine; grandparents, Tim and Doris Peters of Elkhart; sisters, Christy Bernas of Palestine, Jennifer Baker of Blanchard, Okla. and Julie Thomas of Allen; and a niece, Randi Bernas of Palestine.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Stroud, Barry Albright, Chris Rawson, Charles Kato, Roy Stampley and Thomas Hall.
