Tommie Eugene Rice
Services for Tommie Eugene Rice, 64, of Crosbyton will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 4, 2003 at the Crosbyton First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Bruce Cotton officiating. Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
He died Sat. Feb. 1, 2003 at Lubbock Covenant Medical Center. He was born Sept. 10, 1938 in Electra,  Texas. He married Pat Cagle Edwards on April 24, 1992 in Floydada.
He was a member of the Crosbyton First United Methodist Church. He attended elementary school in Plainview and was a 1956 graduate of Hale Center High School. He joined the Navy in April of 1956 and served until August of 1959 as a Boiler Technician. He started his career with the Postal Service in 1965 as a clerk in the Turkey, Texas Post Office. In 1970 he was a city carrier in Plainview then served as Plainview's Superintendant of Postal Operations until 1988. He served as Postmaster in Floydada from 1988 to 1997. He was a member of the National Association of Post Masters and attended numerous Postal Academies as well as Wayland Baptist University. He was a Mason and served as Past Master of Arch. J. Keys Masonic Lodge in Plainview. He moved to Crosbyton in 1999 from Floydada.
He is preceded in death by 2 sisters Johnny Faye Rice and Rita Jean Rice.
Survivors include; his wife Pat Rice of Crosbyton, a son Kirk Rice and his wife Kathie of Pampa, 2 daughters; Jeanean Wood and her husband David of Plainview, Jennifer Justice of Plainview, a stepson Neal Edwards and his wife Julie of Turkey, a stepdaughter Tammi Stafford and her husband Wesley of Sweetwater, 7 grandchildren; Amber & Haley Wood, Karami Rice, Caleb Justice, Connor and Collin Stafford, Caden Edwards.
The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Lubbock 1102 Slide Rd. Lubbock,  Texas 79416, Crosbyton First United Methodist Church P. O. Box 476 Crosbyton,  Texas 79322 or Joe Arrington Cancer Center 4101 22nd Pl. Lubbock,  Texas 79410.

J. W. "Jake" Mobley
Graveside services for J. W. "Jake" Mobley, 92, of Crosbyton will be at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003 at Red Mud Cemetery with the Rev. Tommy Henderson officiating.
Arrangements are under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
He died Monday, Feb. 3, 2003 at Crosbyton Nursing Home. He was born Oct. 10, 1910 in King County,  Texas.
He was a Baptist and moved to Crosbyton in October of 2002.
Survivors include a son Paul Ray Mobley of Oregon, three daughters Deloris  Johnson of Crosbyton, Patsy Green and Deanie Wellborn both of Spur, 8 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.

Betty Jo Kelsey
Graveside Services for Betty Jo Kelsey, 74, of Idalou and formerly Lorenzo will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 18, 2003 at the Lorenzo Cemetery with the Rev. Dennis Williams officiating. Arrangements are under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
She died Friday, March 14, 2003 at Lutheran Home of West  Texas in Lubbock. She was born August 24, 1928 in Cedar Hill,  Texas.
She was a Baptist. She was a retired Licensed Vocational Nurse and had worked at West  Texas Hospital in Lubbock, she was Director of Nursing at Ralls Nursing Home for many years and retired from nursing after working with Dr. Dale Rhoades at Crosbyton Clinic Hospital. She moved to Crosby County in 1947.
She is preceded in death by a son, Donald Wayne Kelsey, a step-son Robbie Lynn Kelsey, and two brothers Alvin Tuley and James Tuley.
Survivors include, a son Rick Kelsey and his wife Kay of Portland, Oregon, a daughter Sue Reese and her husband Roy of Lorenzo, four sisters; Genay Bertran of Big Spring, Billie Perkins of Coppell, Norma Schultz of New Braunsfel, Carol Huey of Magnolia, six grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or Lutheran Home of West  Texas 5502 4th St. Lubbock,  Texas 79416.

E. H. Flournoy
Services for E. H. Flournoy, 83, of Crosbyton will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, March 17, 2003 at Crosbyton First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Johnnie Williams officiating. Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
He died Friday, March 14, 2003 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
He was born June 11, 1919 in Campbell,  Texas. He married Tess Brixey on January 20, 1944 in Crosbyton,  Texas.
He was a member of the Crosbyton First United Methodist Church, the Crosbyton Masonic Lodge for 50 years and the Order of the Eastern Star. He worked for the Federal Land Bank at Crosbyton and Spur for 40 years and had served as President. He served in the Army during WWII and received a purple heart.

R. T. "Jack" Bowman
Services for R. T. "Jack" Bowman, 88, of Lorenzo will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, March 21, 2003 in the Lorenzo First United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Boles, Rev. Jerry Wiliams, and Rev. Dennis Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Lorenzo Cemetery under diection of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo. Mr. Bowman died Wednesday, March 19, 2003 in Lubbock's Covenant Hospital. He was born April 7, 1914 in Plainview,  Texas. He married Fern Fralin Sept, 1, 1934 in Crosbyton. She preceded in death Nov. 5, 1960 Then he married Johnnie Vaught Alverson July 7, 1961 in Lorenzo. He was a member of the Lorenzo First United Methodist Church. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. He served as Lorenzo's City Manager at one time. He was a real estate agent for several years. He lived in the Lorenzo area all his life. Survivors include his wife Johnnie Bowman of Lorenzo, 1 son, Don Bowman of Branson, MO,
a daughter and her husband Judy and Don Miller of Lubbock,4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. The family suggest memorials to the Lorenzo EMS.

Christina Moreno
Services for Christina Moreno, 26, of Lubbock were held at 10:00 AM Thursday, March 20, 2003 at Crosbyton's San Jose Catholic Church with Rev. Leo Pahamtang officiating. Burial followed in the Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton. She died March 17, 2003 at her Lubbock home. She was born Sept. 23, 1976 in Rankin, Tx. She attended school in McAdoo, Crosbyton, Lumberton, NC and Ralls. She worked as a florist at Adams Flowers in Lubbock. She moved to Lubbock in 2002 from Austin. Survivors include her son, Mark Anthony Garza of San Angelo, her parents, Albert Moerno of Idalou and Mary Moreno of San Angelo, 1 brother, Stephen Moreno of Idalou and 4 sisters, Misty Hamersley of Lubbock, Wendy Locke of Hamburg, Germany, Amanda Moreno of Lubbock and Mariah Morenzo of Lubbock.

Hazel Dean
Services for Hazel Maude Smith Dean, 100 of Bellville and formerly Ralls,  Texas will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 30, 2003 at the Emma Church of Christ in Ralls with Billy Bob Wright and Eddie Verett officiating.
Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home in Ralls.
She died Wednesday, March 26, 2003 in Rose Hill Retirement Home in Bellville. She was born June 4, 1902 in  Jeffersonville, Indiana. She married Williams Hobson Dean in 1919. He preceded her in death in 1949.
She was a member of the Emma Church of Christ in Ralls and a homemaker. She moved to Bellville in 1999 from Ralls. She had been a resident of Crosby County for 92 years. She is preceded in death by two sons, Clifford Dean in 1957 and James Silas "Jim" Dean in 2002.
Survivors include: Two Daughters: Helen Marie Massey of Clear Lake City,  Texas and Jane Osborn of Bellville,  Texas.
17 grandchildren, numerous great and great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Robin David Osborn, William Massey, Thomas Massey, Kendall Osborn, John Hallman and A. O. Smith.

Juanita Lynch
Services for Juanita Lynch, 94, of Ralls will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2002 at Adams Funeral Home with the Rev. Floyd Haddock officiating.
Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
She died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002 at IHS Hospital in Arlington,  Texas. She was born June 25, 1908 at Granbury,  Texas. She married Emmitt Rufus Lynch on October 27, 1928 in Floydada,  Texas. He died Feb. 5, 1990.
She was a member of the Ralls First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the choir for 30 years. She was the first Den Mother for the Cub Scouts in Ralls. In 1942 the Lynches bought the Golden Rule store and consolidated it with their 5 and 10 store which became Lynch's Department Store which they operated for many years. Later it became Lynch-Tinnin Department Store.
She lived in Ralls most of her life.
Survivors include: 2 sons; Dwayne Lynch and his wife Patricia of Lubbock, Doyce Lynch and his wife Terry of Arlington, six grandchildren; Jay Lynch, Dixie Chambers, Lindy Hobbs, Wylie Lynch, Jana Stepp and Hollis Lynch and 4 great grandchildren.
