Acacia Aviles, 42, of Denton died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001, at Denton Regional Medical Center.
She was born June 8, 1959, in Nombre de Dios, Durango, Mexico. On Oct.13, 1976, she married Ernesto Aviles, in Olton.
Mrs. Aviles was a supervisor at the Longmeadow Care Center in Justin.
She was a Jehovah’s Witness.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. today, Saturday, Oct. 13, at Roselawn Memorial Park, Denton.
Survivors include her husband of Denton; her parents, Manuel and Matilda Munoz of Olton; four daughters, Phyllis Munoz of Denton, and Maribel, Jessica and Angie Aviles of Denton; two sons, Josue Aviles and Ernesto Aviles Jr. of Denton; four sisters, Yolanda Velasquez of Valley View, Rosa Amaya and Mary Sue Simental of Denton, and Amparo Garcia of Hart; five brothers, Javier Munoz of Dimmitt, Armando Munoz of Mexico, Jorge Munoz of El Paso, Robert Munoz of Amarillo and Manuel Munoz Jr. of Denton; and 14 grandchildren.

Malcolm D. Love, 76, of Denton, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2001, at Select Specialty in Dallas.

Galveston – Edwin D. Haynes, 82, of Galveston died Friday, Oct. 12, 2001, in Galveston.

Zelma C. Rosenburg
Bridgeport – Zelma Cook Rosenburg, 94, of Bridgeport died Friday, Oct. 12, 2001, at Bridgeport Nursing Center.
She was born March 21, 1907, in Wise County. In 1935, she married Volnia Rosenburg in Waurika, Okla. Mr. Rosenburg preceded her in death.
Mrs. Rosenburg was a homemaker.
She was a Baptist.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. today, Saturday, Oct. 13, at Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur. Coker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include one son, Bill Rosenburg of Bridgeport; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Bobby G. Copeland
Bobby Gene Copeland, 71, of Denton died Friday, Oct. 12, 2001, at Denton Regional Hospital.
He was born Feb. 13, 1930, in Denton, Texas, to James Marvin and Mattie Lola (Bray) Copeland.
He attended the Assembly of God Church and worked for Kroger Grocery Stores.
He is survived by two sons, James Copeland of Trinidad, Texas, and Curtis Copeland of LaRue, Texas; two brothers, J.C. of Midland, Texas, Jimy Ray of Gulf Shores, Ala.; and four sisters, Velma Rainey of Denton, Texas, Lola Clark of Carrollton, Texas, Frances Lucille Russell of Richardson, Texas, and Billie Estelle Baker of Dallas, Texas.
Visitation will be Saturday, Oct. 13, 2001, from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. at Goen-Hudgens Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Malcolm Love
Malcolm D. Love, 76, of Denton died Friday, Oct. 12, 2001, at the Select Specialty Hospital in Dallas.
He was born July 7, 1925, in Corsicana to George and Birdie (White) Love. On Oct. 12, 1947, he married Grace Walker. She died Aug. 28, 2001. He attended North Texas State University.
Mr. Love owned a television and electronics sales and repair shop.
He was a member of Welch Street Church of Christ.
A service will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2001, at Welch Street Church of Christ in Denton. Terry Collins will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 15, at Goen-Hudgens Funeral Home.
Survivors include one son, Tony Love of Omaha, Neb.; one daughter, Sylvia Love of Chicago, Ill; and two grandchildren.

Diana Paez Rivera, 47, of Denton died Friday, Oct. 12, 2001, at Denton Regional Medical Center. She was born July 3, 1954, in Port Clinton, Ohio. Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz & Son Funeral Home.
Edwin Haynes
Aubrey – Edwin Darvin Haynes, 82, of Aubrey died Friday, Oct.12, 2001, in Galveston.
He was born Sept. 22, 1919, in Texas to James Carl and Eva French Haynes. In 1969 he married Nancy Marie Driver in Richardson.
Mr. Haynes was a retired mechanic, and served in the United States Army during World War II.
He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Pilot Point.
A service will be at 2 p.m., today, Sunday, Oct. 14, at the Church of the Nazarene. The Rev. Johnny Johnston will officiate. Burial will be in Belew Cemetery in Aubrey. Huff-Slay Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. today, Sunday, Oct. 14, at the Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include his wife of Aubrey; three sons, Elton Haynes of Westlake, James Haynes of Glen Rose, and Don Haynes of Arlington; one daughter, Ellen Libhart of Arlington; one sister, Eris Avery of Athens; one brother, Clinton Haynes of Okla.; 9 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
James Stacks
Dallas – James Robert Stacks, 56, of Dallas died Thursday Oct. 11, 2001.
He was born March 3, 1945, in Dallas.
Mr. Stacks was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the U.S. Army, and was a member of the VFW, post 9168-Lewisville.
A service will be at 3:30 p.m., Monday, Oct.15, at Restland Memorial Chapel in Dallas.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today, Sunday, Oct. 14, at Restland Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife Sharon Stacks; one son, James Stacks Jr.; two daughters, Marsha and Amy Stacks; two brothers, Lonnie and George Stacks; one sister, Joann Stacks; and six grandchildren.
John P. Montgomery
John P. Montgomery, 86, of Denton died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2001, at his home.
He was born Aug. 21, 1915, in Hemming, Cooke County, to Lonzo Newton and Margaret Ann (Austin) Montgomery. During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Butte. On May 24, 1986, he married Hattie Riek in Denton. He was a lifetime member of Denton Veterans of Foreign Wars #2205.
Mr. Montgomery was a barber for 40 years.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church since 1947.
A service will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 17, at the First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Gary Mueller and Dr. Harold T. Perry will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Ron Montgomery, Lonnie S. Montgomery, Eddie Huey, Billy Campbell, Jim Adams and Monte Franks.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, at Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home.

Diana Paez Rivera
Diana Paez Rivera, 47, of Denton died Friday, Oct. 12, 2001, at Denton Regional Medical Center.
She was born July 3, 1954 in Port Clinton, Ohio, to Gregorio H. and Rebecca (Paez) Flores. She attended public schools in Lakeside, Ohio, and George West High School in George West.
Mrs. Rivera was employed as a secretary/ teaching assistant by the Denton Independent School District and was a former member of the Cumberland Children’s Home Board of Directors.
She attended Full Gospel Church.
A service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, at Full Gospel Church. The Rev. Gary Beal will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Larry Dean Jr., Samuel Rivera, D.J. Rivera, Aca Rivera, Marcus Ray Flores and Shane Howard.
The family will be at Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, for visitation.

Jesse Parish Reed
Decatur – Jessie Parish Reed, 78, of Decatur died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2001, in Decatur.
He was born Oct. 26, 1922, in Decatur. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
Mr. Reed was an FAA controller.
He was a member of Oak Grove Methodist Church.
A service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, in the chapel of Coker Funeral Home of Decatur. Gene Chamness will officiate. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Decatur.
Pallbearers will be Jim Self, Morris Berend, Ronnie Van Natta, Bo Bullard, Larry Self and Johnny Self.
Survivors include his wife, Lila Fay Self Reed; one son, Col. Mike Reed of San Antonio; two daughters, Ginger Samay of Kansas City, Mo., and Ronda Fowler of Irving; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Robert M. Miller
Argyle – Robert M. Miller, 77, of Argyle, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2001, at Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth.
Mr. Miller was born March 5, 1924, in Dallas, Texas, to Clarence M. and Grace (Clark) Miller. He served as flight engineer with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II in China, Burma and India.
He married Audrey Williams in Kansas City, Mo., on Nov. 25, 1945. He was a member of St. David’s Episcopal Church. He was a member of the Denton Elks Lodge and lifetime member of the Denton Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was an independent architect and builder.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2001, in the chapel of Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, with Father R. Roy Baines and Adam Miller officiating. Interment will be at noon at the Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. tonight, Monday, Oct. 15, 2001, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey Miller of Argyle; sons, Monte M. Miller and wife Lynn Singletary of Denton, and Mark M. Miller and wife Susan of Denton; brother, C.M. Miller and wife Norma of Olympia, Wash.; sister-in-law, June Ahrens of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Adam Miller and wife Lisa of Denton, Zachary Miller of Colorado, Kyle Miller of Denton, Keith Miller of Fort Worth, and Margaret Shropshire of Utah; and great-grandson, Dustin Shropshire of Utah.
