Wanda Haverty
Sheridan, Wyo. Wanda Haverty, 79, formerly of Krum, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001, at Sheridan Manor in Sheridan, Wyo.
She was born Feb. 12, 1922, in Eskridge, Kan., to William and Elizabeth (Johnston) Orr. In Dec. 1940, she married Robert Haverty in Nogales, Ariz. He died in June 1999.
Mrs. Haverty worked in Bob Lenons engineering office in Patagonia, Ariz., for some time, and then worked at Patagonia High School for 12 years. She was a 4-H leader.
She was formerly a member of Krum Methodist Church, and was a past matron of the Eastern Star in Nogales, Ariz., and in Sanger.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date in Texas. Kane Funeral Home of Sheridan, Wyo., is in charge of local arrangements.
Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Gastelum of Buffalo, Wyo.; three sons, Rex Haverty of Gaithersburg, Md., Clinton Haverty of Krum, and Col. Bruce Haverty of Mississippi; three sisters, Waketa Barngrover, Marjorie Hartman and Joy Clements, all of Kansas; two brothers, Edgar Hodges and Charles Hodges, both of Kansas; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Hannah N. Woods
Little Elm Hannah Nicole Woods, infant daughter of Rick and Sara Woods of Little Elm, died Wedneday, Sept. 12, 2001, at her residence. She was born Aug. 15, 2001, in Lewisville.
A graveside service will be at 12 p.m. today, Friday, Sept. 14, at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville. Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home of Lewisville is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two sisters, Tabitha June Woods and Kayla Marie Woods; one brother, Rickey Woods III; her grandparents, James and Lori Cargill, Tracie Windsor, Rick Woods Sr. and Fred Windsor; and her great-grandparents, Mildred Metzner, Dorothy Woods, Sally Orben and Mary Jane Cargill.
Gladys Louise Isbell
Krum Gladys Louise Isbell, 87, of Krum died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2001, at Denton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
She was born March 4, 1914, in Bonham to A.W. and Lottie Henry. On Dec. 31, 1945, she married William Boyd Isbell in Fort Worth.
Mrs. Isbell was an employee of Osborn Grocery Co. for 18 years before her retirement.
She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Krum.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at the First Baptist Church of Krum. The Rev.s Gordon Hightower and Ed Gatlin will officiate. Burial will be at Jackson Cemetery in Krum.
The family will be at DeBerry Funeral Directors from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Friday, Sept. 14, for visitation.
Survivors include her husband, Boyd Isbell of Krum; one son, Bill McCarty of Denton; two sisters, Imogene Bethel of Blue Mound and Lena Caldwell of Keller; two grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Claude E. Hoffman
Claude Elliott Hoffman, 79, an educator, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2001, in Glen Rose Medical Nursing Center in Glen Rose. A service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at the First Christian Church in Granbury. Dr. Roy C. Martin and Dr. Christine K. Chenoweth will officiate.
Burial will be in Thorp Spring Cemetery in Thorp Spring, Texas. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church of Granbury, or to the charity of choice.
Claude Elliott Hoffman was born April 15, 1922, in Denton, the son of Carl C. Hoffman II and Susan Elizabeth Smith Hoffman Heath.
He served his country during World War II as a member of the American Air Force and the 353rd Bombardment Squadron (H). He flew combat missions as a top turret gunner and a flight engineer in a B-17 over Europe.
After the war, he continued his education, receiving degrees from North Texas State College in Denton and the University of Texas at Austin. His teaching and administrative work began in Corpus Christi in 1948 and ended with his retirement in 1976. In retirement, he lived on the family farm in Hood County.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Carl C. Hoffman III, and stepfather, James Penning-ton Heath.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Marie Derrick of Hoffman; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Clark Hoffman and Courtney Read Hoffman of Austin, Paul Derrick Hoffman and Renee Thibodeau Hoffman of Temple; sister, Delia Lou Hoffman White of Arlington; stepsister, Frances Hoffman Ray; grandchildren, Faye Ellen Hoffman, Katherine Jean Hoffman and Clark Read Hoffman of Austin; two nieces; one nephew; and several cousins.
Mary Lou Rovane
Mary Lou Rovane, 72, of Denton died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2001, at Denton Community Hospital.
She was born April 24, 1929, in Mattoon, Ill., to John Harley and Jennie Marie (Abel) Caton. In 1997, she married Paul Rovane in Santa Rosa, Calif.
Mrs. Rovane was retired after 35 years as section supervisor for the USAF Strategic Air Command at the McClellan AFB in Sacramento, Calif.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, at the chapel of Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home. The Rev. Gary Adams will officiate. Burial will follow at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Paul Rovane of Denton; three sons, Dannie Scott Wade of Corinth, James Arthur Nichols of Dallas, and Burl Harley Nichols of Vacaville; two stepsons, Paul Rovane Jr. of Corpus Christi and Bill Rovane of Portland, Ore.; two stepdaughters, Mary Gadda of San Jose, Calif., and Susan Whittman of Modesto, Calif.; two sisters, Richley Gazley of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Joann Ford of Lubbock; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Teressa Easley-Washington
Lewisville Teressa Elizabeth Easley-Washington, 47, of Lewisville died Thursday, Sept. 13, at Denton Regional Hospital.
She was born April 23, 1954, in Greenville, Miss., to Don and Cherry Easley. She married McClinton Washington Jr. in Denton County.
Mrs. Easley-Washington attended McLennan Community College and was an R.N. for North Central Home Care.
She attended Covenant Church in Carrollton.
A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors. Jesse Easley will officiate.
Survivors include her husband, McClinton Washington Jr. of Lewisville; one daughter, Elizabeth Anne Wallace of Lancaster; her parents, Don and Cherry Easley of Garland; one brother, Mike Easley of Perrin; and three grandchildren.
Gladys Louise Isbell
Gladys Louise Isbell, 87, of Krum passed away Wednesday night, Sept. 12, 2001, at the Denton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was born on March 4, 1914, in Bonham, Fannin County, Texas to A.W. and Lattie Henry.
She loved God and her family with all her heart.
She married William Boyd Isbell on Dec. 31, 1945, in Fort Worth. Gladys was a member of the First Baptist Church of Krum. She was active in church as a Sunday School Teacher, Building Fund Committee member, a Bible Study Leader and many other church activities. She was employed by Osborn Grocery Company for 18 years until retirement.
The funeral service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Krum with the Rev. Gordon Hightower and the Rev. Ed Gatlin officiating. Burial will be at Jackson Cemetery in Krum.
Her husband, Boyd Isbell of Krum; son, Bill and wife Ann McCarty of Denton; two sisters, Imogene Bethel of Blue Mound and Lena Caldwell of Keller; two grandchildren, Sheryl and husband Rick Mulkey and Robbie and wife Lisa McCarty, both of Denton, and eight great-grandchildren, Crystal, Brittany, Cole, Jordan and Ross McCarty and Samantha, Tyler and Adam Mulkey, all of Denton, survive her.
The pallbearers will be Troy Mankin, Don Lutz, Perry Burnes, Bobby Coldwell, Bill Kenas, and Ronnie Glenn.

Selma Herod Huff, 87, of Denton died Friday, Sept. 14, 2001, in Denton.
She was born Jan. 24, 1914, in Lake Dallas to Bobbie Bailey and Silas Herod.
She was a member of Mt. Pilgrim C.M.E. Church.
A service will be at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, Sept. 19, at Mt. Pilgrim C.M.E. Church. The Rev. A.L. Sims will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Peoples Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include one son, Bobby Ray Johnson of Cincinnati, Ohio; two stepsons, John L. Jones of Dallas and James Jones Jr. of Orlando, Fla.; and two sisters, Anna Belle Bowen of Denton and Norine Bowden of Aurora, Colo.

Raymond Salas Sr., 73, of Denton died Monday, Sept. 17, 2001 in Henrietta.

Lavone Craddock
Van Doris Lavone Craddock, 75, of Van, died Monday, Sept. 17, 2001, at a nursing home in Van.
She was born Oct. 21, 1925, in Van Zandt County. She was raised in Van Zandt County, and lived in Edgewood, Grand Saline and Bonham. She moved to Denton in 1969 and lived here until 1998.
Mrs. Craddock was a retired clerical office worker.
She was a member of Highland Baptist Church in Denton.
A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. today, Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2001, in Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton. The Rev. John Stout will officiate. Hilliard Funeral Home of Van is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include one son, David Craddock; two daughters, Laurie Craddock of Krum and Becky Shawn of Van; two sisters, Christine Kidd of Edgewood and Daphne Hammack of Grand Saline; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild. Her husband, James Craddock, one son, Bobby Craddock, and one sister, Louise Jefferson, are deceased.
Hortensia Liebowitz
Lewisville Hortensia Liebowitz, 92, of Lewisville died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2001, in Denton.
She was born March 14, 1909, in Costa Rica. She married Max Liebowitz, who preceded her in death on July 30, 1999.
Mrs. Liebowitz was a member of the Catholic Church.
A graveside service will be at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, at Old Hall Cemetery in Lewisville. Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home of Lewisville is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Voss of Lewisville; and one granddaughter.
Anna Belle Muncy
Decatur Anna Belle Voss Muncy, 89, of Decatur died Monday, Sept. 17, 2001, at Denton Community Hospital.
She was born March 23, 1912, in Bolivar. On Aug. 23, 1943, she married Clarence E. Muncy in Bolivar. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Muncy was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Bolivar Church of Christ.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, at Slidell Cemetery in Slidell. Charles Taylor will officiate.
Pallbearers will be H.R., Edwin, Danny, Rene and Bert Pruett and Gene Malone.
The family will be at Coker Funeral Home in Decatur from 7 to 8 p.m. today, Wednesday, Sept. 19, for visitation.
Survivors include one son, Lee Muncy of Slidell; one daughter, Mary Naomi Gardner of Grand Salene; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Sammy L. Williams
Bridgeport Sammy Len Williams, 46, of Bridgeport died Monday, Sept. 17, 2001, at Fort Worth Hospital.
He was born Aug. 8, 1955, in Bridgeport, to Sonny and Bone Whitsitt. On Aug. 30, 1991, he married Sandraw Kay Chesnut in Bridgeport.
Mr. Williams was a heavy equipment operator for Tarrant Regional Water District and a U.S. Army veteran.
He was a member of the East Mound Church of Christ in Bridgeport.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, at the East Mound Church of Christ. James Vannoy will officiate. Burial will be at Westside Cemetery in Bridgeport.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Williams, Jessie Westbrook, William Freeworth, Gary Whitsitt, Mike Haynes and Richard Ellis.
