Venus - Mary Lou Ashby Parkes, 71, of Venus, died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2001, at All Saints Hospital in Fort Worth.

Charles Watkins

Charles Stinnett Watkins, 54, of Denton died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2001, at Denton Regional Medical Center. He was born Jan. 15, 1947, in Camden, Ark., to Randall and Alpha Wanda (Stinnett) Watkins.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietname War. He attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha and Texas Southern University. He was employed by the city of Denton as the director of solid waste.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors. A graveside service was held at 9 a.m. today, Monday, Aug. 20, at Roselawn Memorial Park here in Denton.

He is survived by one son, Jon Watkins of Denton; one stepson, Stephen Moore of Austin; his mother and stepfather, Alpha Stinnett Hunter and Doyle Hunter of Chidester, Ark.; one brother, Edgar ``Buddy" Glenn of Houston; and his former wives, Judy Watkins and Janet French, both of Denton.

Ruby Kirby

Lewisville – Ruby Lee Kirby, 93, of Lewisville died Monday, Aug. 20, 2001, at Cross Timbers Nursing Center.

She was born Sept. 29, 1907, in Madill, Okla.

Ms. Kirby was a homemaker.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, at Sanger Cemetery. Jimmy Odom will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Rex Kirby, Victor Kirby, Ken Moseley, John PatrickKirby, Dale Graham, and Leslie Lester.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 21, at Coker Funeral Home in Sanger.

> Survivors include two daughters, Betty Kirby Moseley and Joyce Kirby Heath, both of Lewisville; three sons, Jimmy Lee Kirby, John Harold Kirby, both of Sanger, and Boyd Glenn Kirby of Flower Mound; one brother, Jesse Sons of Sanger; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Maurice McAdow

Maurice Clark McAdow, 96, of Denton died Monday, Aug. 20, 2001, at Denton Good Samaritan Village.

He was born Nov. 17, 1904, in Greenville, Ill., to William P. and Agnes (Clark) McAdow.

Mr. McAdow was a graduate of Illinois Wesley University and the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago. He worked for the University of North Texas as director of bands, conductor and teacher from 1945 until his retirement in 1975.

He was a member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church.

A service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, at St. Andrew

Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Stephen Plunkett and the Rev. Clint Loveall will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22,at Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to St. Andrew Presbyterian Church or the band department of the University of North Texas.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn B. McAdow of Denton; one son, Scott McAdow of Houston; and two grandchildren.

Alan Parker

Marshall Creek – Alan Wayne Parker, 50, of Marshall Creek died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2001, at his home.

Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home of Denton.

Mary Parkes

Venus – Mary Lou Ashby Parkes, 71, of Venus died Sunday, Aug. 19, at All Saints Hospital in Fort Worth.

She was born Feb. 28, 1930, in Weinert to William Lewis and Essie Jewell (Adams) Ashby. She married Smith Parkes Jr. at Gribble Springs Baptist Church.

She graduated from Denton High School and was a member of Saving Grace Baptist Church in Alvarado.

A service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors of Denton. The Rev. Frank Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Gribble Springs Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m.. today, Aug. 21, at the funeral home.

Survivors include her husband of Venus; one daughter, Donna Kay Parkes of Fort Worth; one son, James Richard Parkes of Hurst; one brother,

Clinton Ashby of Sanger; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

One brother, Billy Earl Ashby, preceded her in death.

Myrtie H. Range

Justin - Myrtie Helen Range, 81, of Justin, passed away Monday, Aug. 20, 2001, at the All Saints Hospital in Fort Worth. She was born May 6, 1920, in the Drop Community, to Leonard and Ella Dee Knox who preceded her in death. She attended the Drop and Justin public schools where she was a life-long resident.

Myrtie Helen married Olen Range on Dec. 20, 1938, in Fort Worth. She was an active member of the Justin Church of Christ and a charter member of the Zetegathan Club and was a real estate broker as well as a professional businesswoman.

The family will be at DeBerry Funeral Directors from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday night, Aug. 21, for visitation. Memorials may be made to the Vista Hospice at All Saints Hospital in Fort Worth.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, at the Justin Church of Christ with John Goble and Don Boyd officiating. Burial will be at the Justin Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Olen Range of Justin; one daughter, Mrs. Joan Mead and husband Larry of Fort Worth; two sons, Larry Range of Justin and Oscar Range and wife Ruth Ann of Justin; five grandchildren, Scott Mead of Fort Worth, Mrs. Lisa Scott of Fort Worth, Ryan Range of Chapel Hill, N.C., Paul Range and Mark Range of Denton; three brothers and one sister, Robert Knox and wife, Iris of

Drop, Wayne Knox and wife Betty of Haslet, Gary Knox and wife Margaret of Haslet, and Betty Ann Saunders of Justin; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

The pallbearers will be Roger Knox, Price Knox, Mike Knox, Darrell Green, Jackie Nethery, Silas Bradley and Byron Hatfield.

DeBerry Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.

Lorie D. Kelly

Dallas - Lorie Denise Kelly, age 31, of Dallas, passed away Sunday, Aug. 19, 2001, at her home.

She was born Lorie Denise Wortman on Oct. 25, 1969, in Naples, Texas. She attended Sanger schools and was a member of the twirling team and the debate team. She graduated with honors from the Mansfield Business College in 1992. Lorie was a Christian and was baptized on June 6, 1982, at Bolivar Baptist Church.

She married Clinton Kelly Jr. of Dallas on Feb. 26, 1991. She was a loving wife and a best friend.

A family graveside service was held Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2001, at Eakin Cemetery in Ponder, under the direction of DeBerry Funeral Directors of Denton. The Rev. E.L. McNeal officiated.

Lorie is survived by her husband, Clinton Kelly Jr. of Dallas; her parents, Don and Mindie Wortman of Sanger and Janice and Norman Winter of Brandon, Miss.; three sisters, Meghan and Melissa Wortman of Sanger, and Kimberly Brown of Brandon, Miss.; two brothers, Jason Wortman of Sanger and James Winter of Brandon, Miss.; her grandparents, Raymond and Ruby Nell Wortman of Ponder and Joy Allen of Terrell; one

niece, Miranda Wortman of Sanger; and a large extended family of relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made to the Ponder Public Library.

James Ingoldsby

James Leo Ingoldsby, 89, of Denton died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2001, at his home.

He was born April 17, 1912, in Wapakeneta, Ohio, to James and Grace Elizabeth Ingoldsby. On Oct. 21, 1967, he married Joan M. Rotton in Pasadena, Calif.

Mr. Ingoldsby served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and retired as a captain. He was active in the Service Corp of Retired Executives, the Navy League and the Air Force Association. He spent 20 years in the Washington D.C. area, first as priorities liaison for Eastern Air Lines to the War Production Board, and then as a naval officer, federal civil servant, and finally as general representative for the Lord Corporation. He later served with the U.S. delegation to NATO in London and Paris as an industrial specialist. When he retired, he was a marketing administrator for the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif.

He was a member of St. David’s Episcopal Church in Denton.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24, at St. David’s Episcopal Church. Father Roy Baines will officiate.

Memorials may be made to a charity of choice or to St. David’s Episcopal Church.

He is survived by his wife, Joan M. Ingoldsby of Denton.

Angelina Maggia

Coalgate – Angelina Maggia, 96, of Coalgate, Okla., died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2001, in Coalgate.

She was born Feb. 12, 1905, in Biella, Italy, to Guglichmina and Nicola Maggia.

Ms. Maggia was a registered nurse.

She was Catholic.

A service will be held at 11 a.m. today, Aug. 22, at the Blessed Sacrament Church. Father Ray Ackerman will officiate. Burial will be at Coalgate Cemetery in Coalgate. Epperson Funeral Service of Coalgate is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Mike Thomas, Nick Thomas, Bill McFall, Steve Lolli, Johnny Maggia and Gene Ferrero.

Survivors include five nieces, Wilmina Lolli Thomas of Denton, Jeanine Lolli McFall of Oklahoma, Katherine Zuech of Purcell, Okla., Josephine Carpenter of Chickasha, Okla., and Alice Ann Drake of Conroe; and four nephews, Nick Lolli of Coalgate, Okla., Raymond Maggia of Purcell, Okla., Johnny Maggia of Coalgate, Okla., and Tony Maggia of Moss, Okla. Her brother, Raymond Maggia, and sister, Pauline Lolli, preceded her in death.

Margaret McFarling

Margaret E. McFarling, 88, of Denton died Monday, Aug. 20, 2001, at Denton Good Samaritan Village.

She was born July 4, 1913, in Calhoun County, Miss., to Cad and Annie (LaRue) Jones. In 1941, she married Harry McFarling in Hernado, Miss. He died in 1944 during World War II.

Mrs. McFarling worked as a motor builder and tester for Hunter Fans until she retired in 1979.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, in the chapel of Memphis Funeral Home in Memphis, Tenn. Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz & Son Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Survivors include her daughter, Earleen Lowery of Denton; one brother, Cadmon Jones of England, Ariz.; one sister, Mary Davis of Memphis, Tenn.; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Alan Parker

Marshall Creek – Alan Wayne Parker, 50, of Marshall Creek died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2001, at his home.

He was born Nov. 12, 1950, in Denton to Billy Sims and Peggy Elaine (Baxter) Parker.

Mr. Parker was a graduate of Denton High School and was a self-employed carpenter.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, at Old Alton Cemetery. Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his mother, Peggy Epps of DeQueen, Ark.; one daughter, Allyson Parker of Marshall Creek; one brother, Ronald Parker of Gainesville; and two sisters, Wauneice Dewberry of DeQueen, Ark., and Tammie Smith of Fort Worth.

Velda Mansell

Velda Mansell, 66, of Denton died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2001, at Denton Regional Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 16, 1935, in Duke, Okla., to A.D. and Ora (Sledge) Alexander. On Nov. 24, 1960, she married John B. Mansell in Duke, Okla.

Mrs. Mansell was Baptist.

A service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, at the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors. The Rev. Philip Webb will officiate. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, in the Prairie Hill Cemetery in Duke, Okla.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 23, at the funeral home.

Survivors include her husband, John Mansell of Denton; three sons, Roger Mansell of Rogers, Ark., Richard Mansell of The Colony and Mark Mansell of Mesquite; three sisters, Margurett Horton of Denton, Amadean North of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Joyce Kitchens of Owasso, Okla.; two brothers, Lowell Alexander of Orofind, Idaho, and Jerry Alexander of St. Joseph, Mo.; and six grandchildren.

Harold Morris

Tioga – Harold L. Morris, 77, of Tioga died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2001, at Denton Regional Medical Center.
