Decatur - Clinton Dale "Clint" Brown, 25, of Decatur, died Thursday, April 19, 2001, at Baylor Hospital in Dallas.
He was born Dec. 20, 1975, in Bridgeport.
Mr. Brown as a server and trainer for Applebee's Restaurant and attended TCJC.
He was a member of the Bell Baptist Church in Decatur.
The service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 23, in the Coker Funeral Home chapel in Decatur. Doug Vaughn will officiate. Burial will be in Paradise Cemetery in Paradise.
The family will be at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 22, for visitation.
Survivors include his mother and step-father, Charlotte and David King of Alvord, and his father and step-mother, Alvin and Joan Brown of Sulphur, Okla.; grandparents Mr. and Mrs. H.L. Pryor of Decatur, James King Sr. and Nevada Owens both of Sulphur, Okla.; great-grandmother, Eula Sanford of Decatur; one brother, Joe Brown of Decatur; two step-brothers, J.D. and Joey King both of Alvord; and one step-sister, Ellicia King of Castle Rock, Colo.
Sarah Lee Jones
Prosper - Sarah Lee Jones, 69, of Prosper, died Friday, April 20, 2001, at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas.
She was born Sept. 30, 1931, in Prosper, to S.P. and Laura Jackson. On Oct. 30, 1948, she married Clifford Jones in Slidell.
The graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 23, at Ridgeview Memorial Park in McKinney. Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Clifford Jones of Prosper; her mother, Laura Jackson of Denton; two daughters, Sonja Estep of Rhea's Mill and Brenda Worden of Lake Charles, La.; one sister, Jennie Salzmann of Denton; and three grandchildren. Her father, S.P. Jackson, and granddaughter, Amy Estep, are deceased.
Augusta Laird
Lake Dallas - Augusta Louise Laird, 69, of Lake Dallas, died Friday at the Denton Regional Medical Center.
She was born July 1, 1931, in Ashtabula, Ohio, to Robert L. Green and Virginia Taylor Green. On July 14, 1951, she married James Grant Laird in Ashtabula, Ohio.
Mrs. Laird attended Lake Cities United Methodist Church where she also taught pre-school.
The memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, April 23, at the Lake Cities United Methodist Church. The Rev. Bill LaBarr will officiate. DeBerry Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Lake Cities United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, James of Lake Dallas; three daughters, Cindy Dean of Savannah, Ga., and Sandy Dearderick and Liz Skinner both of Hickory Creek; one son Allan Laird of Richardson; one sister, Betty Adams of Medina, Ohio; and five grandchildren.
Howard Krill
Aurora, Colo. - Howard John Krill, 81, of Aurora, Colo., died Thursday, April 26, 2001, at Bethany Health Care.
He was born Dec. 22, 1919, in Pittsburg, Pa.
A graveside service was held at 10 a.m. today, Tuesday, May 1, in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Denton. Dr. E.L. McNeal officiated. Coker Funeral Home of Sanger was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Krill was retired from Gates Rubber Company.
Survivors include two sons, David Krill of Austin and John Krill of Laguna Beach, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
W.J. 'Dub' Lowe Jr.
W.J. "Dub" Lowe Jr., 77, of Denton, died Monday, April 30, 2001, at Denton Community Hospital.
He was born Nov. 15, 1923, in Denton County, to W.J. and Jettie (Ryan) Lowe, and attended Denton public schools. On Dec. 13, 1946, he married Gertrude Watson, in Dallas.
Mr. Lowe retired Nov. 16, 1983, after 35 years of service in the maintenance department at Moore's Business Forms. During World War II he was in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
A service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, in the chapel of Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home. The Rev. Cliff Feeler will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6 to 7 p.m. tonight, Tuesday, May 1, for visitation.
Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.
Survivors include his wife of Denton; one daughter, Tina Lynn Bohn of Roanoke; one sister, Kathleen Parish of Pottsboro; and two grandchildren.
Bobby Dean Lewis
Lewisville - Bobby Dean Lewis, age 71, of Lewisville, Texas, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2001, at the Medical Center of Lewisville.
Mr. Lewis was born Dec. 18, 1929, in Frederick, Okla., to Jimmy Anderson and Lottie Patton Lewis. He married Ann McMakin on Sept. 1, 1949, in Denton. He was a supervisor in aviation for 45 years and owner of Lewis Racing for 34 years. Bobby Dean was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be very much missed.
Survivors include his wife, Ann of Lewisville; one daughter, Mary Lewis of Denton; two sons, Randy Lewis of Lewisville and Robert McMakin of Arizona; two sisters, Ruth Smith of Ponder and Jimmie Walker of Slidell; one brother, Bill Lewis of Lubbock; five grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Don A. and Gene Lewis.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2001, at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton. The Rev. David Fraze will officiate the service. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday evening at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville.

Neda Merle Riney
Neda Merle Riney, 81, of Denton, died Sunday night, April 29, 2001, at Denton Regional Medical Center. She was born May 26, 1919, in Little Elm, to Henry Monroe Selby and Mamie Louise Gammon Selby.
Merle attended Center Point schools and Denton High School. She married Frank N. Riney on July 12, 1939, in Marietta, Okla. He preceded her in death. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the St. Francis Circle. She was a self-employed seamstress.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors with Deacon Emilio "Popo" Gonzalez officiating. Visitation will follow the service.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors with Father Mel Bessellieu officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Thomas Cemetery in Pilot Point.
She is survived by one son, Ken Riney of Little Elm; one daughter-in-law, Barbara Riney of Aubrey; two sisters, Jean Benson of Longview and Margarite Snyder of Argyle; one brother, Charles Selby of Denton; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Two sons preceded her in death, Grafton Riney and Jerry Riney.
The pallbearers will be Brian, Brad, Tad, Leo Frank, Dwayne and Robert Riney.

Robert Cotter
Corinth - Robert N. Cotter, 60, of Corinth, died Friday, April 27, 2001, at Campbell Memorial Hospital in Weatherford.
He was born Nov. 7, 1940, in Philadelphia, Pa., to George Cotter and Eva McDowell Cotter. On June 18, 1971, he married Janet ``Jan" Pottinger in Sugar Grove, Ill.
Mr. Cotter attended Northeast High School in Philadelphia, Albright College in Reding, Pa., the Evangelical Theological Seminary in Naperville, Ill., and the University of North Texas.
He was a member of Argyle United Methodist Church.
The memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 12, at the Lake Sharon Christian Center in Corinth. The Rev. Daniel Humbert will officiate. DeBerry Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Jan Cotter, of Corinth; one daughter, Sue Roskowski of San Jose, Calif.; two step-daughters, Cindy Kohr of LaSalle, Ill., and Cheryl Ashcraft of Denton; one son, Tim Cotter of Sunnyvale, Calif.; two step-sons, Kevin Bergagna of Oglesby, Ill., and Steve Bergagna of Spring Valley, Ill.; one sister, Phyllis Adams of Bangor, Maine; three grandchildren; and five step-grandchildren.
Paul Smith
Flower Mound - Paul S. Smith, 76, of Flower Mound, died Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at the Medical Center of Lewisville.
He was born May 31, 1924, in Austin. On May 14, 1960, he married Nancy A. Watley in Lewisville.
Mr. Smith was a former Lewisville Independent School District school board member, member of the Lewisville Lions Club, past president of the Lewisville Chamber of Commerce, member of the Texas chapter of the Antique Aircraft Association and the AOPA. He also served on the board of directors for CoServ and Lewisville National Bank. Mr. Smith had his own insurance agency in Lewisville since 1962 including American Insurance Service and the Paul Smith Insurance Agency. During WWII he was a pilot in the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church.
The service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2001, at First United Methodist Church in Lewisville. The Rev. John Mollet will officiate. Interment will follow in McCurley Cemetery.

Bob Turner
Robert L. "Bob" Turner died Sunday, April 29, 2001, at the age of 55.
He was born Jan. 21, 1946, in Bonham to Alton Jefferson Turner and Elnora Peggy Kinkade Garrett. He graduated from L.D. Bell High School and later served two years in the U.S. Army in Korea. He married Della Rose Nortman on July 29, 1967, in Fort Worth.
Mr. Turner worked 29 years as a conductor for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. He was currently serving as local chairman for the United Transportation Union.
He was a member of St. Peter's Church, the Lindsay Knights of Columbus, and a longtime supporter of St. Mary's Catholic Church as well as Catholic Life Insurance, for whom his wife currently serves as District 8 director.
Bob was a hardworking and loving husband, father, son, friend, brother, and Papa. He enjoyed his work, his deer lease, spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandsons.
A Knights of Columbus rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, and a rosary with visitation to follow will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at George J. Carroll and Son Funeral Home. Mass and Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 3, at St. Peter's Church in Lindsay. The Reverends Sebastian Beshoner, O.S.B. and Robert Strittmatter will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Chad Turner, Dusty Turner, Dennis Nortman, Harvey J. Kinkade, Paul Hassell, and E.D. Garner.
In lieu of flowers, his family requests that donations be made to St. Mary's Catholic school in memory of Sister Gabriel Burton Tuition Fund, 931 North Weaver, Gainesville, TX 76240.
He will be missed by his wife of 33 years, Della; his son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Amy Turner of Wynnewood, Okla.; his daughter and son-in-law, Brandi and Mike Dieter of Lindsay; son, Dusty Turner of Gainesville; mother, Peggy Garrett of Gainesville; sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte and Terry Reel of Wylie; grandsons, Cade Turner, Nicholas Dieter, and Nathan Dieter; nephew Tyler Reel; and a host of family and friends, especially his railroad family.
Sarah Davis
Sarah Glenn Davis, 76, of Denton, died Monday, April 30, 2001, at Denton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Dec. 27, 1924, in Winnsboro, to R.G. "Rudi" and Sara Louise Gilbreath. She attended Winnsboro High School and wrote the Winnsboro Raider High School song. On June 16, 1945, she married Dr. Ralph Davis. He is deceased. She earned a bachelor's of arts degree from the University of North Texas and a master's degree from Texas Woman's University.
Mrs. Davis was a retired music teacher from TWU. She was a member of the UNT One O'Clock Lab Band, and the Fesser Graham Society. She also played with the Dallas Summer Musicals.
A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 3, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, North Ward. Bishop David Martino will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.
The family will be at Schmitz-Floyd-Andersen Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. tonight, Thursday, May 2, for visitation.

Survivors include one son, Glenn Davis of Denton; one brother, Roy Gilbreath of Winnsboro; and five grandchildren.
Maudie Krone
Lewisville - Maudie M. Krone, 89, of Lewisville, died Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at Medical Center of Mesquite.
She was born July 10, 1911, in Dandridge, Tenn., to John and Thursia Moore Morrison. She married Finley Miller Krone. He died Dec. 28, 1986.
Mrs. Krone worked as an LVN for the Denton State School for 27 years.
The service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 4, at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville. The Rev. Dick Guditis will officiate. Interment will follow in Old Hall Cemetery in Lewisville.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. tonight, Thursday, May 3, for visitation.
Memorials may be made to the Denton State School.
Survivors include three daughters, Doris Helm of Mesquite, Wanda Sloan of Wills Point and Nelda Dollgener of Lewisville; two sons, Jimmy Frank Krone of Gun Barrell City and R.D. Krone of Denton; two sisters, Virginia Tucker of Terrell and Alice Phillips of Lubbock; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. One son, Miller Finley Krone, died March 1, 1998.
