Rosary for Lupe M. Obregon, 58, of Ralls will be at 7:00 PM Thursday, May 8, 2003 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Ralls. Mass will be celebrated at 4:00 PM Friday, May 9, 2003 at the same church with Rev. Leonard Pahamtang, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Ralls Cemetery. Mr. Obregon passed away at 4:25 PM Wednesday at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. He was born Dec. 5, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois and married Victoria Garcia March 23, 1963 in Crosbyton. He was a farmer and moved to Ralls in 1971 from Michigan and Florida. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Ralls. Survivors include his wife Victoria of Ralls, his father, Isidro Obregon, Sr. of Ralls, 2 sons, Mike and Steve, both of Lubbock and a daughter, Brenda Rogers of Beaumont and by 3 sisters, Rosa Escobar of Crosbyton, Mary Obregon of Dallas and Luz Lebano of Waxahachie and by 5 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by 3 brothers, Rufinito in 1939, Richard in 2001, Isidro, Jr. in 2002 and by a sister Lupita Obregon in 1940.

Lela Boyd
Services for Lela Boyd, 59, of Lubbock will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 10, 2003 at the Milwaukee Avenue Church of Christ, 6401 11th Place in Lubbock with Nathan Fritz, minister officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park in Lubbock under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls. The family will receive friends for visitation from 4:00 to 5:00 PM Friday, May 9th at Adams Funeral Home in Ralls.
She was born Feb. 9, 1944 in Houston,  Texas and married L. G. Boyd on Jan. 25, 1964 in LaMarque, Tx. They moved to Ralls in 1978 where she was a homemaker and and educator. She worked for the Ralls ISD for 22 years. She was an active member of the Emma Church of Christ and in the Ralls Community. The family moved to Lubbock in 1991. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hershel and Maurie Monroe. She is survived by her husband, L. G. Boyd of Lubbock, by three sons, Gregg Boyd of San Antonio, Weldon Kregg Boyd of Lubbock and Stephen Boyd of Lubbock and by a daughter, Stephanie Boyd of Lubbock. Also surviving is a sister, Shirley Hammond of Elgin, Tx and by 5 grandchildren, James, Brittany, Christian, Victory and Keeley. The family suggests memorials to the Lela Boyd Scholarship Fund in care of Security Bank, Drawer AA, Ralls, Tx 79357.

L. W. Cook
Graveside services for L. W. Cook, 76, of L7 Ranch south of Crosbyton will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, May 12, 2003 at Crosbyton Cemetery with Rev. Lester B. Griffin officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 PM Sunday, May 11, 2003 at Adams Funeral Home in Crosbyton.

L. W. Cook was born April 18, 1927 in Stephenville, Tex.
to Velma Reed and Jesse Cook. L. W. was a true cowboy working on various ranches from Wyoming to  Texas, settling down on the L7 Ranch south of Crosbyton where he worked for 18 years until his death on May 9, 2003.

L. W. told life stories of his work on ranches and passed his zest for life onto his kids and grandkids, giving them the opportunity to learn the things not taught in books.

He married Juanita "Neat" Rawls March 20, 1947 in Houston.
He was preceded in death by one son, one grandson, and two great grandchildren.

He is survived by "Neat" his wife and partner of 56 years,
their children, Cathy and Norman, Joyce, Helen and W. C., Ellen and Shannon, Sue and Mike, Joan and Jerry, Frances and Billy, Judy and Randy, Billy and Kim, Jimmy and Carol, Linda and Deryl, Terry and Amber and Bobby. They were blessed with 33 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. He is also survived by 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

The family says "We will miss you Daddy/Grandpa" and we say "Happy Trails to you until we meet again."

In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to charities of one's choice.

John Bratton
Graveside services for John Bratton, 76, of Houston will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 17, 2003 in the Ralls Cemetery with the Rev. Floyd Haddock officiating. Arrangements are under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
He died on May 12, 2003 in Houston. He was born on January 7, 1927 in Kosse,  Texas to Fred and Geraldine Kelly Bratton. He married Virginia Faye Reed on December 16, 1949 in Lubbock. She preceded him in death on May 19, 1978.
He was a graduate of Reagan High School in Houston. He served in the Philippines during WWII with the Third Medical Company as a Tech Sergeant. He worked for Stafford Chemical Co. for 35 years as a Chemical Supervisor retiring in 1986.
Survivors include a daughter Charlotte Parton and her husband Richard of Houston, a brother Neil Bratton and his wife Florence of Houston, two brothers-in-law: Norman "Beans" Reed and his wife Gene of Ralls, Sam Reed of Weatherford, a sister-in-law Dorothy Reed of Ralls, two grandchildren Reed Parton and Victoria Parton both of Houston and many nieces and nephews.

Joe Vandergriff
Joe D Vandergriff

Joe D Vandergriff died on May 21, 2003 at age 59 after a short but brave battle with cancer with his family at his side in his home. Joe was born on August 7, 1943 in Dalhart Tx

Joe is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 37 years, Sherrill, his son Mike Vandergriff and wife Christine of Georgetown, Tx, his daughter Charlotte Thompson and husband Bryan of San Angelo, five dear grandchildren; Cara, Caleb & Courtney Vandergriff and Kelsi and Katie Thompson, his mother Lavena Wagner of San Angelo, his brothers Jerry Vandergriff of San Angelo and Leon Vandergriff of Odessa. Joe was preceded in death by his father Clois Vandergriff of Tulia.

Joe graduated from Tulia High School in 1961 and married Sherrill Kaye Sharp on August 27th, 1966.
Joe started his life long career as a lineman with LP&L in Lubbock in 1969, and in 1970 began 33 years of loyal service with Southwestern Public Service Company. Joe?s journey with SPS carried him from Lubbock, to Levelland, to Springlake-Earth, to Ralls, and back to Lubbock in 2002 where he worked as Supervisor for the Lubbock Area Service Dept. When asked what he did for a living, Joe would always proudly say ?I?m a lineman?.

Joe had a true love for people and it seems he never met a stranger. His wit, compassion, affection, and devotion to his friends and family made him easy to like and more often to love. Joe?s life offered him the ability to develop many life long friendships, which were evident in the outpouring of love and support he received in his final days. We are honored to call him Husband, Daddy, Papa, Son, Brother, Uncle and Friend.

Services celebrating Joe?s life will be held at LakeRidge Baptist Church in Lubbock where he was a member, on Friday May 23 at 2:00 PM. Services will be officiated by Rev. Merle Fulmer and Rev. Floyd Haddock. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park in Lubbock. The family will receive visitors at Franklin Bartley Funeral Home on Thursday, May 22nd between 5:00 and 7:00 or at their home at 6015 73rd in Lubbock. The body will lie in state at Franklin Bartley Funeral Home Thursday from 1:00 PM til 8:00 PM and on Friday 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

Eliberto Luebano
Services for Eliberto Luebano, 72, of Crosbyton will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, May 23, 2003 at San Jose Catholic Church in Crosbyton with the Rev. Leonardo Pahamtang officiating. Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
He died May 21, 2003 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock,  Texas. He was born March 16, 1931 in Charlotte,  Texas. He married Maria Luisa Rodriquez in Poteet,  Texas. She preceded him in death in 1987.
He was a member of San Jose Catholic Church. He was a farmer and moved to Crosbyton in 1950 from Poteet.
Survivors include: two sons Francisco of Lubbock and Roberto of Lockney, two daughters; Janie Ubalde of McAllen, Maria Elena Carrasco of Ralls, his mother Clemensia Luebano of Crosbyton, two brothers Pablo of Houston, Juan of Crosbyton, five sisters; Petra Villareal, Estella Sanchez, Silverea Arteaga, Hilaria Alvarado all of Crosbyton and Benita Casarez of Shallowater, 12 grandchildren 4 great grandchildren.

Kathryn Anne "Katy" Brian Wiley
Services for Kathryn Anne "Katy" Brian Wiley, 24, of Lubbock will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 24, 2003 at Indiana Avenue Baptist Church in Lubbock with the Rev. Jim Gerlt officiating and the Rev. Les Griffin, Rev. Russ Murphy and Edward Coppage assisting.
Burial will be in Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
She died Thursday, May 22, 2003 at Lubbock's University Medical Center.
She was born May 23, 1978 in Dallas. She married Eric Wiley on June 17, 2000 in Crosbyton.
She was a member of the Crosbyton First Baptist Church. She was a 1996 graduate of Crosbyton High School. She attended Wayland Baptist University. She was a graduate of Salon Professionals Academy and worked as an esthetician at Cathy's Clippers Salon in Lubbock. She was currently attending South Plains College. She moved to Lubbock from Crosbyton.
Survivors include, her husband, Eric Wiley, a son, Isaiah Wiley, her parents, Tom and Ann Brian, a brother, Tom Brian and his wife Susan, a sister, Laurie Brian, and her grandmother, Edith Emmett all of Lubbock.
The family suggests memorials to Indiana Baptist Church Memorial Fund, Crosbyton First Baptist Church Children's Playground Fund or Wayland Baptist University or charity of your choice.
The family will receive friends from 5 PM to 7 PM Friday at Franklin Bartley Funeral Home in Lubbock. She will lie in state at Franklin Bartley From 10 AM to 8 PM on Friday.

Alice W. Fowler
Graveside services for Alice Welch Fowler, 93, of Willcox, Arizona and formerly Ralls will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, May 30, 2003 at Ralls Cemetery. Arrangements are under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls. She died May 25, 2003 in Tucson, Arizona.
She was born October 3, 1909 in West Newton, Massachusetts to John Maurice Welch and Mary Alice Haley Welch. She married Paul W. Fowler on August 24, 1946. He died Dec. 16, 1996. She and her husband were owners of the Fowler Brothers Phillips 66 Wholesale and service stations. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Ralls, Ralls Study Club,the Ralls First United Methodist Church and was Mother Advisor for Ralls Assembly of Rainbow Girls. A homemaker, she was an avid reader, wonderful cook, great dancer and loved her daily cocktail. She moved to Pearce/Sunsites, Arizona in 1990 from Kailua-Kona, HI. She lived in Ralls from 1948 to 1983. She always considered Ralls her home.
Survivors include: a son David Fowler, daughters; Joan Hay of Peoria, AZ, and Alice E. "A. E." Moses of Willcox, AZ, a sister Helen Welch of West Newton, MA, six grandchildren; Scott Hay of Maui, HI, Kim Hay Sturm of Glendale, AZ, Karen Fowler Ferrara of Sierra Vista, AZ, Beth Moses of Poughkeepsie, NY, Lance Fowler of Tucson, AZ, Trey Moses of Tyler,  Texas, six great grandchildren; Jeffrey Hay, Christopher and Jennifer Sturm, Kenzie Fowler, Nick Ferrara Mattie Fowler, Sarah and Thomas Moses.
The family will receive friends at Adams Funeral Home in Ralls from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, May 29, 2003.
The family suggests memorials to Charles Wm. Leighton Hospice 319 W. Grant Willcox, Arizona 85643.

Bart Lynch
Graveside services for Bart Lynch, 74, of Plainview will be at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at Ralls Cemetery with the Rev. Bobby Rine officiating. Arrangements are under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
He died Sunday, June 1, 2003 at his home in Plainview. He was born February 14, 1929 in Slaton,  Texas to Walter Barton Lynch and Thelma Lorene Garner Lynch.
He married Dauline Hood Harbison on January 25, 1947 in Lorenzo. She preceded him in death on January 18, 1997.
He worked for Higginbotham Bartlett Lumber Co. for 49 1/2 years. First in Ralls as a bookkeeper, then in Crosbyton as a manager then in 1984 he moved to Plainview and served as district manager for the company.
He is preceded in death by two brothers; Lloyd Lynch in 1978 and Monroe Lynch in 2003, and a sister Lurdean "Tincy" Patterson  White in 1983.
Survivors include; a daughter Paula Kaye Swafford of Marlow,  Oklahoma, three sisters; Betty Mackey of Bronte,  Texas, Linda Dear of Walls, Mississippi, Carolyn Sessom of Ralls,  Texas, a granddaughter Miranda Kaye, "Mandy" Key of Harlingen and a great granddaughter  Taylor Key also of Harlingen.

Bobbie Trull
Services for Bobbie Jopling Trull, 73, of Crosbyton will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, September 26, 2001 at the Crosbyton First Baptist Church with the Rev. Les Griffin, pastor officiating. Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton. She died Monday, September 24, 2001 at Covenant Medical Center Lakeside in Lubbock,  Texas. She married Harold Trull on July 6, 1947 in McAdoo,  Texas. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Crosbyton where she was in the Pastor's Sunday School class, the Sanctuary Choir, the Hallelujah Choir and Women on Mission. She also did volunteer work at the Crosbyton Nursing home with the Pretty Nails group. She attended Hardin Simmons College and was a homemaker. She had lived in McAdoo and the Crosbyton area all her life. She was preceded in death by a brother Milton Jopling and a sister Leota Thornton. Survivors include her husband Harold Trull of Crosbyton, two Sons Alton of Denton,  Texas and Clifford of McAdoo,  Texas and a daughter Kathie Walker also of McAdoo,  Texas a Sister Charlsie Ratheal of Crosbyton,  Texas and 8 grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to the Wayland Baptist University Jopling Scholarship Fund 1900 W. 7th St. Plainview,  Texas 79072. Pallbearers: Tim Trull, Neill Trull, Shane Walker, Jeremy Walker, Steven Walker, Andrew McCall.
