Adene E. Walker

COLBERT -- Funeral services for Adene E. Walker, 85, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Center Union Baptist Church in Colbert with the Rev. James Bolin, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery, Colbert. She died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003 in Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma, Durant, Oklahoma.

Surviving are her son, Cecil Gray of Sr. Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; daughters, Betty Robinson of Oklahoma City, Billie Favors of Los Angeles, California; brothers, Emanuel Vinson of Oklahoma City; sister, Inetha Jones of Dallas; 14 grandchildren and host of great-grandchildren.

Public visitation will be from 12-8 p.m. Tuesday.

Arrangements are under the direction of Angelic Mortuary, Sherman.

Ruby Nell Hudgins

PILOT POINT -- Graveside services for Ruby Nell Hudgins, 83, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Bloomfield-Jones Cemetery. She died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003 in Denton.

Surviving are her daughters, Jackie Gary of Lake Kiowa, Texas, Judy Gravely of Pilot Point, Kathy Shipley of Pilot Point; sons, Danny Hudgins of Hurst, Texas, Mike Hudgins of Era, Texas; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be, Jeff Shipley, Randy Markham, Michael Curtis, Chris Gravely, John Hudgins, Michael Hudgins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Arrangements are under the direction of Huff-Slay Funeral Home.

Cheyanne Larren Davis

BLUE RIDGE -- Funeral services for Cheyanne Larren Davis, 8, will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home with Andrew Seigrist officiating. Burial will be in Ridgeview Memorial Park.

Surviving are her mother, Lee Ann Harris of Blue Ridge; father, Dwayne W. Davis of Melissa; brother, Eric Davis of Sherman; sister, Chassity of Sherman.

Charlie Black

DENISON -- Arrangements are pending with Johnson-Moore Funeral Home in Denison for Charlie Black, 79, who passed away Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison.

Rosa Mae Jasper

SHERMAN -- Services for Rosa Mae Jasper, 85, are pending with Mullican Little Funeral Home. She died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2003 in Texoma Medical Center.

Faye Phillips

SHERMAN -- Faye Phillips, 94 year-old Sherman resident died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2003 at her home. Funeral services are pending with Waldo Funeral Home.

Edison Leon 'Pap' Hughes

SAVOY -- Services for Edison Leon "Pap" Hughes, 81, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10 at Mullican Little Funeral Home. He died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2003, at his residence in Savoy.

Mr. Loy Hardesty, Church of Christ Minister, will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery in Savoy.

Mr. Hughes was born on Nov. 3, 1922, in Savoy, son of Samuel David Hughes and Cora Marie Wheatley Hughes. He married Jean Winkler on Oct. 1, 1951, in Arkansas.

Pap was a Surgical Assistant at the Bonham Veterans Hospital in Bonham for 30 years before his retirement. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the Savoy Church of Christ.

Pallbearers will be Weldon Becham, Scott Cody, Brian Pugh, Tommy Melugin, J.D. Moore, Mike Bowman and Choice Melugin.

Surviving are his wife, Jean Hughes of Savoy; son and his wife, Edison Hughes and Cheryl of Savoy; daughter and her husband, Debbie Martin and Eddie of Savoy; sister, Verba Cambron of Denison; grandchildren, Tracy Russell, Deanna Jones, Courtney Hughes and Cassidy Hughes; and great-grandchildren, Riley Russell, Allie Russell and Taylor Jones.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Clarice Deberry; and brother, Marvin Hughes.

The family will be at Mullican-Little Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Sarah Nadean Caldwell

DENISON -- Sarah Nadean Caldwell, 70-year-old Denison resident, died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2003, at Texoma Medical Center in Denison. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, at Edwards Family Cemetery in Denison with Mike McMahon officiating.

Mrs. Caldwell was born on March 18, 1933, in Verona, Mississippi, daughter of Roy Vernon Arnold and Iva Byrd.

Pallbearers will be Carl Handley, Darrell Handley, Kenneth Mike Smith, Mike Rowe, Tim Edwards, James Handley, Larry Rayner and Dan Trujillo.

Surviving are three daughters, Sarah Kathrine McCormic, Doris Lynn Edwards and Angel Rae Breland, all of Denison; one son, James Dobbs and wife, Cheery Sue of Granbury; two stepsons, Phil Caldwell of Denison and Kenneth Caldwell of Mineral Wells; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mary Handley of Seagoville, Eva Dell Funderburk of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Jennie Cox, Beverly Horton and Brenda Gayle Oswalt, all of Tupelo, Mississippi; and two brothers, Bill Arnold and Vernon Arnold, both of Tupelo, Mississippi.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Timothy Clinton Edwards.

The family will be at Flesher Funeral Home in Van Alstyne from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, and other times, at the Angel Breland residence, 1112 W. Morton in Denison.

E. Faye Phillips

SHERMAN -- Services for E. Faye Phillips of Sherman, 94-year-old former sales lady who died at her residence on Sunday, December 7, 2003, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2003, in the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel.

Dr. Thomas R. Peel of the First United Methodist Church will officiate and the burial will follow at West Hill Cemetery.

Faye was born on May 15, 1909, in Sherman, the daughter of George Washington Daughety and Laura Richards Daughety. She attended Sherman Public Schools and was employed as a sales clerk for Neiman Marcus in Dallas from 1947 to 1957. She married Frank Donald Phillips on November 21, 1957, in Dallas, and following their marriage, she returned to Sherman. She had been a member of the Antique Club and the Shakespeare Club in Sherman, and also volunteered as a Pink Lady at Wilson N. Jones Hospital for several years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sherman.

She is survived by a son, Frank Phillips Jr. of Austin, Texas; a daughter, Donna Rexroad of Plano; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters; her husband in May of 1969; and her parents.

The family will be at Waldo Funeral Home from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday evening.

The family requests memorials be given to Home Hospice of Grayson County, P.O. Box 2306, Sherman, Texas 75091.

Adria Stephens

CELINA -- Memorial services for Adria Wynell Stephens, 60-year-old Celina resident, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, southwest of Collinsville. She died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003, at Parkland Hospital in Dallas.

The Rev. Carol Record will officiate. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery, southwest of Collinsville.

Surviving are her husband, Gary Stephens; sons, Keith Rieves of Benbrook and Kirk Rieves of Weatherford; daughters, Kobie Burns of Wylie and Shelly Stephens of Venice, Calif.; mother, Hazel Henexson of Eastland, Texas; brother, Kelly Henexson of Eastland; sisters, Phyllis Tillery of Pilot Point, Patricia Morrison of Midland and Sandra Morgan of Monahans; and seven grandchildren.

Huff Funeral Home of Whitesboro is handling the arrangements.

No visitation will be held.

Mary Jane Thomas

DURANT, Okla. -- Mary Jane Thomas, 72, of Durant died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2003, at the Oakridge Manor Nursing Home in Durant.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Coffey-Murray Funeral Home Chapel in Durant with the Rev. Mick Knight officiating. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery in Durant.

Surviving are her daughters, Jacqueline Bow of Kenefic, Okla. and Beverly Mackey of Durant; sons, Jamie Thomas of Sherman and Robert Thomas of Mead, Okla.; brother, W.O. Wallace of Blue, Okla.; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral chapel from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Vivian Yeakle George

WHITEWRIGHT -- Vivian Yeakle George, age 70, passed away Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, at her home in Whitewright.

Graveside services were held Monday at Van Alstyne Cemetery with Frazier Conley officiating.

Surviving are her husband, James Lawrence George ; daughter, April Dunn of Fort Worth; son, James Yeakle George of Whitewright; and two grandchildren.

Flesher Funeral Home of Van Alstyne had charge of arrangements.

Freddie Raper

DENISON -- Services are pending with Johnson-Moore Funeral Home for Freddie Raper, 62, of Denison who died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003, in Sherman.

Cecil Clyde Cook

Funeral services for Cecil Clyde Cook, 94, will be held Wednesday, June 5, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, Denison, Texas, with Rev. Greg Smith officiating.

Mr. Cook passed away at Texoma Medical Center, Denison, Sunday June 2, 2002. Burial will be at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Bratcher Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Cook was born March 17, 1908, in Durant, Okla. to William Clayton and Minnie Adams Cook.

Mr. Cook owned his own plumbing business in Denison for over 40 years, beginning in 1939. He was blessed in that he truly enjoyed and was fulfilled by his trade. During his career, he also contracted and built numerous residential houses in Denison.

He was very active in his church. He taught a number of boys in Sunday School over the years and also taught an adult men's class. He was active in the men's Brotherhood until failing health prevented his participation. His favorite scripture was Psalm 1:1-3 NIV -- "Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the Lord and on His law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers."

In 1934, he married Lucille Emery at Pauls Valley, Okla. She died on December 12, 1974. On September 1, 1977, he married Mary Frances Talley in Denison, Texas.

Mr. Cook is survived by his wife, Mary; daughters, Shirley Cook Talley and husband, Norman of Denison and Brenda Cook Galgan and husband, Michael of Dallas; son, Charles Glen Cook and wife, Lou of Duncan, Okla.; grandchildren, Dawn Talley Simpson and husband, Robert of San Antonio, W. Craig Talley and wife, Kristi of Denison, Fran Twidt and husband, Chris of Farmington, N.M., Mitchell Cook and wife, Katherine of Austin; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Taylor Simpson of San Antonio, Harrison Talley of Denison and Kelsey Cook of Austin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Cook was preceded in death by his parents; all of his brothers, Dale, Floyd, Sam and Sidney; and an infant daughter, Joyce Catherine, who died at birth.

Pallbearers will be: Howard Spillman, Clyde Todd, Bill Wheeler, Bud Means, Y.Q. Tillery and Don Sinor.

Family night will be Tuesday from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at Bratcher Funeral Home.

If desired, memorials can be made to Calvary Baptist Church, Denison, Texas.
