Dorough
BENBROOK - Emmett "E.P." Dorough, 91, of Benbrook, died Sunday, March 17, 2002 at Fort Worth.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 20 at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel. Interment will be in Moore Memorial Gadens in Arlington.
Mr. Dorough was born August 5 in Fort Worth. He was the co-owner of Majestic Reproduction for 43 years, where he was a blueprinter. He was a member of Poly Tech Presbyterian Church. He was also a 50-year mason.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Billie Dorough of Benbrook; sons and daughters-in-law Terry and Joan Dorough of Fort Worth, Richard and Linda Dorough of Mount Pleasant; daughters and sons-in-law Linda and Danny McCoy of Georgetown, Cindi and Jim Davis of Benbrook; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister Oneita Faris of Fort Worth; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Hobson
Chasten Maurice "Chass" Hobson, 71, of Mount Pleasant, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2002 at The University of Texas Health Center in Tyler.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13 at Nevills Chapel Baptist Church. Bro. Glenn Griffith and Bro. Albert Munsinger will officiate. Interment will be in Talco Cemetery under the direction of Bates-Cooper Funeral Home.
Mr. Hobson was born Jan. 27, 1930 in Palestine. He was retired from Missouri Pacific Rail Road and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Nevills Chapel Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Willie Mae Hobson of Mount Pleasant; sons and daughters-in-law Jonathan and Michelle Farenheily of Pueblo, Co., and Michael and Shari Medlin of Nacogdoches; daughters and sons-in-law Melinda and Dale Holeman of Mount Pleasant, and Felicia and Bryan Easterling of Dallas; brothers and sisters-in-law Burl and Rita Hobson Sr. of Latexo, Davie Joe and Mart Hobson, Don and Kathy Hobson, and Bill and Robbie Hobson, all of Grapeland; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Terry Dean Hobson.
The family will receive visitors from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Warren
PALESTINE - Ruthy Mae Mallard Warren, 90, of Palestine, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2002 at a Palestine hospital.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4 at Lone Pine Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Sloan officiating. Interment was in Land of Memory under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory. Pallbearers were Mrs. Warren's grandsons.
Mrs. Warren was born May 27, 1911 in Anderson County, the daughter of Walter and Mollie King Mallard. She lived most of her life in the Palestine area, but lived for a time in Winnsboro. She was a homemaker and was affiliated with Lone Pine Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son Wade Warren of Mount Pleasant; daughters Nelda Butler of Palestine, Carolyn Woolverton of Malakoff and Linda Mills of Irving; brother Ralph Mallard of Palestine; sister Marjorie Vickery of Palestine; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She was joined in death by her husband Carl Henry Warren and was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Roy, Rufus and R.C. Mallard; sister Oleta Mallard; and great-grandson Rusty Simmons.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lone Pine Baptist Church Building Fund.
Warren
PALESTINE - Carl Henry Warren, 86, of Palestine, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2002 at a Palestine hospital.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4 at Lone Pine Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Sloan officiating. Interment was in Land of Memory under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory. Pallbearers were Mr. Warren's grandsons.
Mr. Warren was born Feb. 14, 1915 in Anderson County, the son of Hubbard and Hollie Johnson Warren. He lived most of his life in the Long Lake community, but lived for a time in Winnsboro where he retired from Getty Oil Co. He was affiliated with Lone Pine Baptist Church.
He is survived by his son Wade Warren of Mount Pleasant; daughters Nelda Butler of Palestine, Carolyn Woolverton of Malakoff and Linda Mills of Irving; brother Hayden Warren of Palestine; sister Willie Tucker and Serita Moore, both of Palestine; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. He was joined in death by his wife Ruthy Mae Warren and preceded in death by his parents; sister Clara Stevens; and great-grandson Rusty Simmons.

Strain
Pearl A. Strain, 92, of Mount Pleasant died Monday, March 25, 2002 at Titus Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 27 at Green Hill Cemetery. Charles Ellingburg will officiate. Interment will be in Green Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Strain was born July 23, 1910 in Titus County. She worked for Red River Arsenal and was a 12-year member of Titus Regional Medical Center Auxiliary. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Mount Pleasant.
She is survived by a sister, Nellie Watson of Houston, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.W. Newman and Claudia Goss; brothers Loyce Newman, Lester Newman, and Ollie Newman; and sisters Faye Rolf and Nora Booth.
The family will receive visitors from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Strickland
Trudie Strickland, 97, died Monday, March 25, 2002, at Titus Regional Medical Center. Services are pending with Tumey Mortuary in Mount Pleasant.
Weaver
Oneda Elizabeth (Howie) Weaver, 90, of Lufkin died Saturday, March 23, 2002 in Memorial Hospital.
Services are scheduled for 2 p. m. on Thursday, March 28 at Greenhill Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery. Bates-Cooper Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
Born March 7, 1912 in Hunt County, Mrs. Weaver was a homemaker.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, DeWitt and Judy Weaver of West Monroe, La.; grandchildren, Kristyn Annette Weaver of Houston, Rachel Michelle Weaver of Port Deposit, Md and Stephanie Nicole Weaver of Port Deposit, Md. grandchildren and spouses, Marie Elizatbeth Crider and Ashley of Houston and Robert DeWitt Weaver and Jan of Lubbock and former daughters-in-law, Gardina Annette Weaver of Houston and Mary Jane Jernigan of Port Deposit, Md.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p. m. on Wednesday, March 27 at Bates-Cooper Funeral Home.
Butterfield
DAINGERFIELD - Judy L. Butterfield, 53, of Daingerfield, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002 at a Longview hospital.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31 at First Baptist Church in Cason. Bro. Carl Culpepper and Bro. Ray Christman will officiate. Interment will be in Blevins Cemetery in Cason under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home.
Mrs. Butterfield was born April 16, 1948 in Monroe, La. She was a truck driver with Covenant Transport. She was a Seventh Day Adventist.
She is survived by her husband Richard Butterfield Sr. of Daingerfield; sons and daughters-in-law Richard "Ricky" and Kathy Butterfield of Pittsburg, and Michael and Athena Butterfield of Killeen; daughter and son-in-law Margie and John Lorance of DeKalb; brothers Virgil Gene Gross of Monroe, La., Julius Gross of Winfield and Billy Gross of Daingerfield; sister and brother-in-law Rosemary and Jerry Ragsdell of Cason; nine grandchildren; aunt Marie Jones of West Monroe, La.
The family will receive visitors Wednesday at the funeral home.
