Mr. Thomas
Dean H. Thomas, 83, of Cranfills Gap, died Feb. 15, 2006 in a Hamilton nursing facility after an extended illness. Graveside funeral services were held Feb. 17 in the Cranfills Gap Cemetery with Rev. Bill Schibler officiating.
He was born June 29, 1922 in Runnels County, the son of John Franklin and Margaret Ella White Thomas.
Mr. Thomas served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was married to Lucille Marhach in 1954 and the couple moved near Cranfills Gap in 1958 where he farmed and ranched all of his life.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Thomas of Cranfills Gap; a daughter, Mary of Tyler; sons, Bobby, Larry and Jerry; grandchildren, Holly, Jerry, Kristin; a great-grandson, Skylar and a brother Bill as well as a number of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Moore
Vincent Lamonze Moore, 80, died Feb. 16 at Harris Methodist Erath County Hospital. He was cremated and no services were scheduled.
He was born August 28, 1925 in Hamilton. He was married to Zenobia Bolton on Feb. 7, 1947 in Hico.
Mr. Moore worked as a production controller, served in the Air Force and was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife of Hico; three sons, Gary Don Moore of Welsh, La., Ronny J. Moore of Hico; Randy Lee Moore of Austin; two sisters, Catherine True of Hamilton and Edith Piscacek of Brownwood; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and numerous cousins.

Mrs. Fowler
Funeral services were held for Dixie Fowler, 72, on Thursday, Feb. 16 in Sparkman/Crane Chapel in Dallas. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother with a passion for oil painting and pastels.
She is survived by her husband Horace, of 55 years. Both Dixie and Horace graduated from Hamilton High School.
Other survivors include children: Vicki and husband Don Deadman, Michelle Fowler, Stacy and husband Steve Biggs, sister Dorothy Domar, four grandchildren: Chase, Collin, Lauren and Sydney.

Mary A. Sugg , 89, of Evant died May 1, 2006 in the Coryell Memorial Hospital in Gatesville. Funeral Services were held May 4 at 10 a.m. in the Evant Church of Christ with Boyce Edwards officiating. Burial was in the Murphree Cemetery under the direction of Riley Funeral Home of Hamilton.
Mrs. Sugg was born Dec. 6, 1916 in Eastland, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Penn.
She was married to Robert Lee Sugg on February 28, 1933 in Cisco. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church Of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her six children, Mary Kathleen Edwards of Killeen; Verleen Michael of May; Robert Stanley Sugg of Gatesville; Delbert Sugg of Lampasas; Keith Logan Sugg of Gatesville and Steve Oscar Sugg of Evant; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Infant Jace Burks died May 2, 2006 in the Harris Methodist Hospital in Stephenville. Graveside services were Thursday May 4 at 2 p.m. in the Murphree Cemetery under the direction of Riley Funeral Home of Hamilton.
Survivors include his parents, Jeffrey and Marlena Burks; his paternal grandparents, Calvin and Tammy Burks; maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Sandra Liggett, and numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

Lila Louise Center, 92, of Gustine, died May 8 at the Forest Oaks Nursing Home in Hamilton. Funeral services were set for May 10 at 10 a.m. at graveside with Rev. Ernest M. Center and Rev. Ronnie Calcote officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Comanche.
Mrs. Center was born Oct. 19, 1913 in Coryell County, the daughter of Ernest Washington Strickland and Lila Eliza (Lewis) Strickland. She worked as a clerk at Gustine Mercantile Store for 15 years. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Gustine.
She was married to J.D. Center Jr. on August 2, 1935 in Hamilton. He preceded her in death on March 10, 1974.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Joseph Beryl Center.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Lewis D. and Jane Center of Edmond, Okla; daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Marvin Gresham of Gustine; son and daughter-in-law, Ernest Marshall and Ruth Center of Kinston, NC; daughter and son-in-law, Ray and Ronnie Calcote of Gustine; daughter, Kay Nelson of Hamilton; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial be made to CCS Hospice, Dublin, or a charity of choice.

Ida Sophie Krueger
Ida Sophie Krueger, 96, of Goldthwaite died May 11, 2007 at Goldthwaite Senior Care Center. Funeral services were held at Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home on May 14 with Pastor Don Kingman officiating. Burial followed at St. John Cemetery in Priddy.
She was born Feb. 24, 1911 in Priddy, the daughter of Henry Witte and Louise Bufe Witte.
She was married to Carl Krueger on Dec. 30, 1934 in Mills County. He preceded her in death in 1987.
Mrs. Krueger moved to Goldthwaite from Indian Gap in 1987.
She was a Lutheran and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Kenneth Wayne and a daughter, Rebecca Louis; a grandson, Stephen Wayne, a brother, a sister and a great-granddaughter.
Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Joan and husband Dale Montgomery of Goldthwaite, 12 grandchildren, numerous great and great-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Nelda Krueger of Elgin and a son-in-law, Jessie Partin.

Dusty Glen Walther
Dusty Glen Walther, 26, of Whitney, died May 13, 2007 in Whitney. Funeral services were set for Wednesday, May 16, at 10 a.m. at Marshall & Marshall Chapel in Whitney with Chaplain Charles Howard officiating.
He was born February 11, 1981, in Hamilton, the son of Robert and Evelyn Goerdel Walther, where he was raised.
He graduated from Iredell High School in 1999 and attended Tarleton State University for three years. Mr. Walther was sales manager and a valued staff member at WB Ranch. He was the loving son of the WB Ranch Manager, Evelyn Jacobs.
He loved all the many customers at the WB, and he was very dedicated to his job. He will be remembered for his great laugh, sense of humor and contagious smile.
Mr. Walther was a shooting instructor for NSCA and loved golf, baseball, football and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Hamilton.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Joe Carroll; grandmother, Lois Collins; grandfather, Wayne Collins, grandmother, Ruth Walther and great-grandfather Edmund Goerdel.
Survivors include his mother, Evelyn Jacobs of Whitney; his father, Robert Walther of Houston; a stepbrother, Chad Carroll of New Jersey; an uncle, Eldon Gregory and wife, Jean of Stephenville; aunts, Kathy Collins of Fort Worth, Kristi Townley and husband, Nathan of Whitney; his uncle, Kelly Collins and wife, Diane of Whitney; an aunt, Cindy Walther of Hamilton; his grandfather, Vernon Walther of Hamilton; his great grandmother, Inez Goerdel of Hamilton; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Floyd John Leach
Floyd John Leach, 87, died May 8, 2007 in the VA Hospital in Temple. Funeral services were held May 11in the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Don Middleton and Dick Stovall officiating. Burial followed in the Pecan Wells Cemetery under the direction of Riley Funeral Home of Hamilton.
Mr. Leach was born February 4, 1920 in Hamilton the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Leach. He was married to Doris in Fort Worth on August 6, 1949. He was a farmer and rancher for many years. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII and was a member of the Park Heights Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Doris L. Leach of Hamilton; nine children, Eugene Leach, Glenn Leach, Jerald Leach, James Leach, Bert Leach, Douglas Leach, Shirley Brown, David Leach and Marvin Leach; a sister, Ina Lunsford; 22 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Peggy Wenzel
Peggy Wenzel, 82, of the Aleman community died May 22, 2008 in the Dove Hill Care Center in Hamilton. Funeral services were held May 24 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Aleman with Pastor Meissner officiating. Burial followed in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery
Mrs. Wenzel was born May 25, 1926 in Vernon, the daughter of William and Pearl Chumney Neal. She was married to Melvin Wenzel in Aleman in 1947.
Mrs. Wenzel was a homemaker and a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Aleman.
Survivors include her husband,of Aleman; two children, Judy Bingham of Comanche and Larry Wenzel of Addison; three grandchildren, Josh, Jessica, and Janell Bingham; one sister, Irene Parrish of Temple, and one brother, M.A. Neal of Fort Worth.
Pallbearers were Gary Voges, Josh Bingham, Chris Bottlinger, Roger Wenzel, Lee Roy Tyson and Tommy Faubion.

George Thompson
George Thompson, 78, of Hamilton, died Saturday, May 31, 2008 in the Hamilton General Hospital. Funeral services were held June 3, 2008 in the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Richard Harvey officiating. Burial followed in the I.O.O.F Cemetery.
Mr. Thompson was born March 10, 1930 in Clarendon, the son of Parmer and Cordelia Sowell Thompson. He served in the United States Marine Corps for 33 years. He was a career Marine and served during the Vietname War. He received the Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts. Because of men like George we are all able to enjoy the freedom provided by their honor and duty to this great nation. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Hamilton.
Survivors include his wife Naomi, of Hamilton; five children, Mark Parmer Thompson of Hamilton, James Neil Thompson, Janet Susan Thompson and Laurie Anne Thompson, all of Garland, Katherine Elizabeth Thompson of Waco; his extended family of Koelling, Kent, and Kevin Wenzel and Kara Chorenziak and 11 grandchildren.
Full military honors were delivered to Mr. Thompson by the United States Marine Corp. He was carried to the grave by six of his fellow Marines. Old Glory was folded and Tapps were played and another American hero was laid to rest.

William Forrest McPherson
William Forrest McPherson, 90, of Hamilton, died June 1, 2008 in the Dove Hill Care Center in Hamilton. Funeral Services were held June 4 in the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Terry Clark officiating. Burial followed in the Pottsville Public Cemetery.
Mr. McPherson was born Oct. 17, 1917 in Pottsville, the son of Winsor Barton Sr. and Emma Clabaugh McPherson. He was married to Frances Rudd on May 13, 1939 in Energy.
He worked for many years for the U.S.D.A. in the Canyon and Dalhart area before moving to the Hamilton office where he retired. Mr. McPherson’s passion and hobby was breeding and rearing registered quarter horses. He was a member of the Park Heights Church of Christ.
Survivors include four children, David R. McPherson and wife Mary of San Saba, Nancy McPherson of Salado, Winnie Marie Rawson and husband Fred of Claremore Okla., Rex McPherson and wife Susan of Poteet, eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: one grandson, Brian Wallace Rawson, and one granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth McDrumman.

Mrs. SoRelle
Sharon Lynette Young SoRelle, 36, of Meridian, died June 9, 2002 in a Waco hospital. Memorial services were held June 16 in the Faith Lutheran Church in Meridian with Rev. Calvin Goerdel officiating. Her cremated remains were buried in the Meridian Cemetery.
She was born July 6, 1965 in Ozona, the daughter of Brenda Goerdel Young and the late Forest W. Young. She moved with her family to Meridian in 1966 where she attended and graduated school. During that time Mrs. SoRelle played clarinet in the band and was a majorette. She was active in basketball, track and graduated in the top 10 percent of her class.
Shortly after her graduation, Mrs. SoRelle went to work for Comanche Peak in Glen Rose and worked there for 19 years.
She was married to Jerry SoRelle of Cleburne in 1989 and lived there for several years. She later moved back to Meridian where she worked for Ballow Texaco as a clerk.
Mrs. SoRelle was preceded in death by her grandparents, R.B. and Elzie Young and her father, Forest Wayne Young.
Survivors include her daughter, Amy Young of Meridian; mother, Brenda Goerdel Young Lucas of Pottsville; brother, Robert Young of Meridian; sister, Beverly Chevalier of Spring; nephews, Marcus and Nicholas Chevalier of Spring, Colt McCarver of Houston; grandparents, Edmund and Inez Goerdel of Indian Gap; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.
