Mr. Redden
Joe Winston Redden, Sr., 83, died on Dec. 30, 2003, in Houston. Funeral services were held on Jan. 2, 2004 in the Sanctuary of Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church with Dr. David A. Peterson officiating. Graveside services with full military funeral honors from the U.S. Air Force followed at Houston National Cemetery with Rev. Jim McNaull officiating.
Mr. Redden was born July 31, 1920, in Hamilton County. After graduating from Hamilton High School in 1937, he earned a teaching certificate from Daniel Baker College in Brownwood and then taught high school math and history for two years.
Mr. Redden volunteered for duty with the U.S Army Air Corps in 1942, and graduated as a Bombardier at the San Angelo Army Air Corps Flying School in March 1943. He was subsequently transferred to Pueblo, Colo. where he married Katherine Louise Fickessen on Dec. 24, 1943.
Mr. Redden was then transferred to England with the 8th Air Force. He flew 30 combat missions during World War II, the last 20 as a Lead Bombardier. He earned the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, Bronze Star, a Lead Crew Commendation, and several Campaign Awards.
Following his discharge from the Air Force, Joe earned a BBA degree from the University of Texas and embarked upon a career in sales management which took him to New Orleans for 16 years and San Francisco for eight years.
Mr. Redden’s career was interrupted when he returned to active duty and served two years during the Korean War. He remained in the active Reserve and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1980. He moved to Houston in 1977, and served as National Sales Manager for his company, retiring in 1984.
He was a loving husband and father. He enjoyed golf, bridge and gardening. He was a member of Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Kay Redden; his son, Joe Winston Redden, Jr.; his grandchildren, Rebecca Kay Redden and Forrest Winston Redden II and their mother Kathleen Redden; his sisters Mabel Kemp, Mary Donelson, Doris Love and Evelyn Darling and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Burnett
Yvonne O. Burnett, 83, died Dec. 30, 2003. Funeral services were held at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home. Entombment was held in a mausoleum in Evant on Jan. 3 in a private ceremony.
She was born in West Texas and was a resident of Houston for 55 years. She was a homemaker, her family being the center of her life.
Mrs. Burnett had many dear and devoted friends for whom she was special.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Travis E. Burnett; three daughters, Ira Crain, CPA; Donna Burnett, attorney and Leanne Burnett, M.D. and husband, John Halter, PHD.
Her granddaughter, Alix Halter and grandson Ian Halter were a great joy in her later years. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Mrs. Nichols
Estelle Nichols, 102, died at her residence in Lingleville on Dec. 28, 2003. Funeral services were held Jan. 2 at Lacy Funeral Home Chapel in Stephenville with Robert Roberson officiating assisted by A.B. Nichols Jr. Burial was at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth.
She was born March 10, 1901 in Hamilton, the daughter of James Miriam and Ida Bell (Bryan) Chambliss.
She was married to Alfred B. Nichols on July 19, 1943 in Fort Worth. He preceded her in death on April 12, 1989.
Mrs. Nichols was a homemaker and a member of Oak Dale United Methodist Church as well as a member of N.A.L.C. Auxiliary No. 16, Polytechnic Chapter 420 O.E.S. and local CB group.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Alfred B. and Della Nichols of College Station; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary N. and Clyde King of Lingleville; five grandchildren, A.B. Nichols Jr., Carrie Nichols, Sally Richard, Peggy Morrison and Sondra Martin; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Brown
Daisy Earline Brown, 86, died Jan. 2, 2004 at Hamilton. Graveside funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Jan. 3 at the Indian Gap Cemetery with Dick Stovall officiating.
Mrs. Brown was born September 29, 1917 at Indian Gap. She was the daughter of the late Wiley Rufus Clements and Daisy Ann Nanny Clements.
On Nov. 11, 1942 at Hamilton she was married to Otto Brown who preceded her in death on June 15, 1989. She is also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Mrs. Brown was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She worked in the nursing homes for many years as a nursing aide assisting the elderly.
Survivors include four children, Wiley Brown of Seattle, Wash., Ardis Brown, Rodney Brown and Mike Brown of Hamilton; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Avis Anglin of Fort Worth and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Anthony
George James Anthony, 72, died in Waco Jan. 3, 2004. Graveside funeral services were held. Jan. 6, at Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton with Aaron Dale Anthony officiating.
He was born May 25, 1931 at Rockport, the son of J. H. Anthony and Flora Lee James Anthony.
He entered the United Air Force on Jan. 13, 1950 at Waco, where he served in the medical field. He was discharged on Sept. 1, 1953.
He was married to Betty Jo Glasscock on Oct. 19, 1953 at Hillsboro. For a number of years he owned and operated a tree service business in Waco.
Mr. Anthony loved his antiques and traveling to Mexico with friends Beret and Lynn. He absolutely loved the 50th anniversary party thrown for him and Betty by all of their children. His life revolved around his children and grandchildren. He wasn’t happy if he wasn’t making their lives better. He was a wonderful husband, daddy and Paw Paw.
Survivors include his wife Betty Jo Anthony of Waco, four children Lanell (Lee) Anthony Smith of Waco, Mark Anthony of Waco, Billy Anthony of Waco and Lance Anthony and his wife Kim of Hamilton; 11 grandchildren, Meghann, Ginny, Tara, Shanna, Michael, Dustin, Courtney, Tyler, Dalton, London and Hope; one great-grandchild, Makenzie; four sisters, May Brumbalow, Ana Bell Brumbalow and Darlene Bethards all of Hamilton and Lou Perry of McGregor and one brother Dale Anthony of Frisco.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Billy Jo Anthony and J. W. Anthony and one sister Zavalla Wagner.
Pallbearers were Larry Wilson, Billy Joe Anthony, Jason Sherrill, Earl Gray, Marshall Sanders and Lee Sanders.
Honorary Pallbearers were Lynn Carter, Beth Shamblin, Ben Sawyer and Calvin Edwards.

Ilona Anna Sebok, Mrs. John Willis Neal, better known by her
Americanized name of Helen died in Lampasas on Jan. 4, 2004. Funeral services were held Jan. 6, at the Stacy-Wilkins Funeral
Chapel in Goldthwaite. She was laid to rest beside her beloved husband in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.
She was born on February 24, 1914 in Ramocsannaze, Hungary, the daughter of Janos Sebok and Anna Andriko Sebok. At age 11, Helen tended to her mother until her mother died. She reared her five younger brothers.
At age 24 after witnessing some of her family being killed, she fled to Germany in March, 1945 only to experience many war tragedies.
In Germany, she worked as a housekeeper. After surviving many more war cruelties, she married in New Orleans on February 18, 1952
and traveled to Midland to live with her sponsors, Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Coleman.
They introduced her to John Willis Neal, who lived at Mt. Olive (near Goldthwaite). They were wed on Feb. 1, 1953. One of her proudest moments was when she became a naturalized American citizen. Aimee Dryman served as
one of her witnesses to become an American as she would proudly tell all.
The couple had no children but since 1954 they lovingly acted as surrogate parents to Johnafaye Dryman Flippen. Helen considered Aimee and Ed Dryman, Johnafaye, Jimmy, Jason and John D. Flippen and their extended families, as her own.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband on March 18, 1969. She was preceded by several brothers, nieces, nephews and family by marriage.
Survivors include Johnafaye and Jimmy Flippen, Jason, Tracy, Ramey, Brittany, Avery, and Reb Dean Flippen, John D. and Keri Flippen, relatives by marriage
and many close friends.
She was baptized in the Greek Orthodox Catholic Church on February 26, 1914.
Pallbearers were Carroll Bunting, David Wiedebusch, Robert Long, and Glen Love.
Honorary pallbearers were Ernie Langpaul, Arlan Poer, Jason Flippen, John D. Flippen,
Paul Majors, Tony Majors, Tom Cody Graves, and Jimmy Flippen.
Miss Raney
Samantha Joann Raney, 16, died June 30, 2002 in Eastland County in an airplane accident. Funeral services will be held at Harrell Memorial Chapel at 11 a.m. on July 6 with W. Dean Bradley officiating. Burial will be at Lower Greens Creek Cemetery.
She was born Aug. 18, 1985 in Clifton, the daughter of Ed Raney and Cynthia Cooper Raney.
Miss Raney also lost her grandparents, Ron and Sharon Raney and her cousin, Rodney Aslin in the plane accident.
She was a senior at Dublin High School where she was a member of the student council. She was also a member of Upward Bound at T.S.U. and a contestant in the International Miss Beauty Pageant.
Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Cynthia and Gary Roemisch of Dublin; her father and stepmother, Ed and Belinda Raney of Dallas; a brother, James Raney, U.S.A.F. in Kansas; grandparents, John and Betty Cooper of Hamilton and Joe and Wanda Roemisch of Kingslan; a great-grandmother, Opal Vanderpool of Dublin; an uncle, John Edward Cooper of Azle; two aunts, Terry Cooper of Azle; an aunt, Lynda Aslin of San Angelo and an uncle and aunt, Benny and Betty Vanderpool of Dublin.
Pallbearers were Gary Roemisch, Ray Rollins, Robert Tucker, Ed Raney, Jerry Ferguson and Curtis Lewis, Jr.

Jenetha Ann Gilman, 67 of Jonesboro, died Nov. 23, 2002 in a Gatesville hospital. Funeral services were held Nov. 25 at the Gatesville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Miles Miears and Ken Taylor officiating. Burial followed at the Jonesboro cemetery .
She was born July 7, 1935 in Hamilton, the daughter of William and Cecil and Vera Mae Blodgett Donahoo. She attended school in Hamilton and was married to John Gilman Jr. on Dec. 2, 1950.
The couple resided in Waco and Houston before moving back to the Jonesboro area in 1986. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Jonesboro.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Donahoo.
Survivors include her husband, John Gilman Jr. of Jonesboro; a daughter, Cindy Baswell of Houston; a son, Bobby Joe Gilman of Pasadena; two brothers, Billy Donahoo of Hamilton and Bo Donahoo of Jonesboro; a sister, Stella Taylor of Hamilton and two grandchildren, Haylee and Randi Jo Baswell.

Martha Henrietta Schmidt Ohlenbusch, 92, died January 14, 2003. Funeral service were conducted Jan. 17, 2002 at the Trinity Lutheran Church at Pottsville with Pastor Peter Andserson and Pastor George Fischer officiating. Burial was in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery at Pottsville.
Mrs. Ohlenbusch was born January 8, 1911 in Barron, Wisconsin the daughter of George and Anna Diestel Schmidt. She moved with her parents, brothers, and sister to McAllen when she was five years old. She confirmed her faith in God at St. Paul Lutheran Church in McAllen when she was thirteen. She graduated McAllen High School and business school.
She was married to Ernest Ohlenbusch in McAllen on March 8, 1930. They lived in Edinburg and in Brookesmith.
In Brookesmith, Martha worked with Ernest where they operated a cotton gin and later she helped in the general store that they owned with Louis and Martha Krause. In 1958 they moved to Pecan Wells in Hamilton County where they ranched until her husband’s death in 1994, at which time Mrs. Ohlenbusch moved to Hamilton. She was a wonderful cook, homemaker and helpmate to Ernest in the ranching business.
She was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville, a member of the Bible Study group and a member of the Pottsville Extension Education Club. Martha was a loving caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Her husband Ernest, her son Robert and six brothers precede her in death.
Survivors include daughters Marilyn Kensing of Hamilton, Louise Genz and her husband Ralph of Pflugerville; a daughter-in-law Mary Ann Ohlenbusch of San Antonio; eight grandchildren, Kerry and Kathy Kensing of Hamilton, Dr. Kelly and Angela Kensing of Lubbock, Kristi and Jim Brown of Pflugerville, Keith and Beth Knippa of Austin, Darryl Ohlenbusch of San Antonio, Kendra Code of Hamilton, Dr. Michael and Becky Power of Billings, MT, Curtis and Robin Genz of Round Rock; 13 great-grandchildren, Klayton Kensing, Haley Kensing, Christian Kensing, Ben Kensing, Jarrod Brown, Justin Brown, Jacob Brown, Katelyn Knippa, Brian Knippa, Mason Code, Travis Genz, Lindsey Genz, Bethany Power and two sisters-in-law, Wilma Ohlenbusch of Oglesby and Corine Schmidt of Weatherford.

Mr. Weathers
Jimmy Wayne “Jim” Weathers, 64, died Jan. 12, 2003 in Ardmore, Okla. Funeral services were held Jan. 15 at Eastside Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Harris and Rev. Steve Gardner officiating. Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery.
Mr. Weathers was born Aug. 12, 1938 in Marietta, Okla., the son of Richard O. and Martha M. (Rowland) Weathers.
An Air Force veteran, he received his bachelor’s degree from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene in 1963. He received his master’s degree in divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth in 1968.
Mr. Weathers pastored Southern Baptist Churches in Avoca, Rhome and Odessa; Ouray, Colo.; Oil Center, NM; East St. Louis, Il; and in Oak Harbor, Ohio. He lived in St. Louis, MO before returning to Marietta in 1990. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church, taught Sunday school and did a study of the Baptist doctrine.
He was preceded in death by a son, Breck Allen and a sister, Virginia Cowley.
Survivors include a daughter, Melanie D. Gaston; his mother, Martha Weathers of the home; a brother, Ray R. of Hamilton and a granddaughter.
Bearers were Gerry and Bobby Cowley, Richard Weathers, G.W. Flanagan, Dennis Lopez and Dale Harvey. Ray Weathers was an honorary bearer.
