Clint Herring Jr., 68, died in Hamilton April 5, 2004. Funeral services will be conducted April 9 at Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Dick Stovall officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Livingston

Lydia Helene Emilie Livingston died in Hamilton on April 5, 2004. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. April 8 in Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Wesley Jones officiating.
Mrs. Livingston was born November 1, 1909 in Pottsville, the third of eight children of Julius Heinrich and Anna Margaretha (Sammann) Schrader.
She was married to James Alfred Livingston on August 23, 1930 in Hamilton. He preceded her in death September 18, 1997.
Mrs. Livingston was baptized in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville on December 5, 1909 and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in Aleman on April 19, 1925. She later became a member of the Rock House Baptist Church in the community where she lived most of her life.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. Mrs. Livingston was employed in Hamilton for many years with Patty’s of Texas. Her hobbies included gardening and quilting.
Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three half-brothers, three half-sisters, four brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include two sons, James Alton Livingston and Jerry Wayne Livingston, both of Hamilton; a daughter, Charlene Rose and husband James Burtis of Sachse; a granddaughter, Kim Rose Bryant and husband James Ernest of Sachse; grandson, James Michael Rose of Sachse; three great-grandsons James Alexander Rose of Sachse, Thomas Lee Rose and Logan Cole Rose both of Cedar Hill and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Mr. Rice

James William Rice Jr., 70, of Hico died Sunday, May 30, 2004. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. June 2, at Center Valley Cemetery in Hamilton County. Rev. John Weaver will conduct the service.
Mr. Rice was born Feb. 10, 1934, in Coleman County, the son of James William Rice Sr. and Mary Amanda Jennings Rice.
He was married to Martha Oustad on June 4, 1954, in Brownwood.
He was a graduate of Santa Anna High School and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin, a Master of Education degree from Howard Payne College and a Master of Fine Arts degree from Stephen F. Austin University.
Mr. Rice wrote and illustrated children’s booksand novels with Pelican Publishing Co. of Gretna, La., and taught art at Southeastern Louisiana University, Louisiana State University and Dallas Baptist University.
He also was a band director at Hico and Shamrock high schools. He was a member of Natalbany Baptist Church, Natalbany, La., and of the Western Writers of America.
For five years he worked with the Texas Artist in Residence program and over the past 25 years he spoke to thousands of school children throughout the nation about his love of art and music.
He played saxophone and piano with Fred and the Gang for more than 25 years. He regularly played music at Hillcrest Nursing Home, Forrest Ridge Nursing Home, Hamilton Senior Citizens Center and Honey Creek Retirement Center.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Rice of Hico; his children, Zel and Barbara Rice of Tickfaw, La., Maria and James Weaver of Hamilton, Lyn and Connie Rice of Blanket, Patti Rice of Alexandria, Va.; and Jason and Shelli Rice of Stephenville; a brother, Eddy Rice of Brownwood; a sister, Loretta Angel of Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.; nine grandchildren, Rhonda Welch, Amanda Bundick, Tim Weaver, Tamee Weaver, Brian Rice, Ryan Rice, Crystal Rice, Marlee Rice and Jameson Rice and two great-grandchildren, Alexa Welch and Matthew Bundick.
Pallbearers will be Tim Weaver, Brian Rice, Ryan Rice, Bobby Sheard, Heath Bundick and Nevin Walton.

Mr. Pierson

Lewis Edward Pierson 50, died May 28, 2004. Private memorial services were held May 30 in the Living Waters Worship Center in Hamilton. Burial was in Gentry’s Mills Cemetery.
Mr. Pierson was born July 31, 1953 in Bryan, the son of the late Olaf Edward Pierson and Susie Paralee Harvey Pierson.
He spent much of his early years in San Angelo where his father retired from the Air Force. He was a veteran of the Army serving in Vietnam. He was a talented welder. While his daughter was in high school, he designed the school mascot images on the megaphone. Mr. Pierson loved the outdoors and enjoyed nature. He was a quite loving person.
He is preceded in death by one brother William Ray Pierson.
Survivors include his wife, Rhonda Kathryn Roberts Pierson of San Angelo; a daughter, Ronda Sue Pierson of Bossier City, La; two aunts, Goldie Pierson of Hamilton and Tommie Kennedy of Evant; a number of cousins and a host of friends.

Mrs. Pierson

Sue Pierson 68 of Hamilton passed away at the Hamilton General Hospital May 30, 2002. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. June 1 at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ed Wright officiating. Burial followed in Gentry Mill Cemetery.
Mrs. Pierson was born January 25, 1934 at Colorado City, Texas, the daughter of Jasper Newton Harvey and Annie Mae Rhodes Harvey.
On October 18, 1952 she was united in marriage to Olaf E. Pierson Jr. in Hamilton, Texas. They made their home in San Angelo for many years where she was an office manager for a doctor's office. She was a member of the Littleville Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Lewis Edward Pierson and his wife Rhonda of Hamilton; four grandchildren, Rhonda Sue, Robert William and Krystle Pierson and Clay Boyd; two sisters, Goldie Pierson and husband Henry of Hamilton and Tommie Kennedy and husband Don of Evant.
She is preceded in death by her husband Olaf Edward Pierson; one son, William Ray Pierson; two sisters, Pat Pope and Marie McGee; three brothers, Robert, J.J. and John Newt Harvey.
Pallbearers were: Dr. Edward Christensen, Mike Sadler, James DeLaney, Howard Pierson, Jerry McGee and Sammy McGee.
Honorary pallbearers were Ping N. Tan and Rabbit Fuqua.

Mrs. Bubert

Emma Matilda Zettler Bubert 92 passed away at Hamilton May 26, 2002. Funeral services were held May 28 St. Paul Lutheran Church at Shive with Pastor Peter Anderson officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery .
Mrs. Bubert was born November 25, 1909 at Shive, Texas the daughter of the late Ferdinand Zettler and Anna Rosentreter Zettler.
She was baptized January 16, 1910 by Pastor Holmes and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church by Pastor Carl Roth.
On November 17, 1929 she was married to Henry Alvin Bubert at St. Paul Lutheran Church at Shive by Pastor G.C. Senff. He preceded her in death on March 26, 1985.
She was a devoted and loving farm wife, helpmate to her husband, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church at Shive.
Survivors include one daughter: Laverna Goerdel of Pottsville; a son Carol Bubert of Hamilton; one sister, Pauline Peters of Hamilton; one brother Walter Zettler of Clifton; nine grandchildren; 12 great grand-children and three great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by two sisters, Minnie Jeschke and Lillie Wagner and one brother Carl Zettler.
Pallbearers were: John Goerdel, Ruth Stegemoller, James Goerdel, David Goerdel, Maria Feist, Alvin Bubert, Sharon McDougul, Linda Noll and Kathy Schrank.

Mrs. Wagner

Zola Zavalla Anthony Wagner 60, died June 4, 2002. Funeral services were held at June 8 at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gilbert Donald and Rev. Jimmy Boatwright officiating. Burial followed in New I.O.O.F Cemetery.
Mrs. Wagner was born February 12, 1942 at Carlton, Texas, the daughter of John Harrison Anthony and Flora Lee James Anthony.
She was a graduate of Hillsboro High School. On July 18, 1964 Rev. Ray Burchett united her in marriage to Johnny W. Wagner in the First Baptist Church at Hamilton.
She was a devoted wife, helpmate to her husband and a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. Mrs. Wagner was a license vocational nurse, working in the nursing homes and the Hamilton Hospital in Hamilton. While working at Hurley Nursing Home she served as director of nurses and she served Dr. N.C. Crouch for a number of years as his office nurse.
She was an active member of Victory Temple Pentecostal Church where she played the piano and guitar. Mrs. Wanger was a member of the Pentecostal Ladies Association and looked forward ever year to the association meeting where she could take part in their work.
Survivors include her husband Johnny W. Wagner Sr. of Hamilton; two sons, Johnny West Wagner Jr. and his wife Lisa of Pottsville, John Wayne Wagner and his wife Rebecca of Temple; one daughter, Martha Leona Lancaster and her husband James of Hamilton; three grandchildren, Jessica Noel Wagner, Ethan August Wagner and Clarissa Lynn Lancaster; four sisters, Ann Brumbalow, May Brumbalow and Darlene Bethards all of Hamilton and Lou Perry of McGregor; two brothers, James Anthony of Waco and Dale Anthony of Frisco also survive her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John Harrison Anthony and Flora Lee James Anthony; two brothers J.W. Anthony and Billy Joe Anthony.
Pallbearers: Jerry Glover, Billy Joe Anthony, Richard Miekeska, Lance Anthony, Aaron Dale Anthony, Richard Brewer, Mark Anthony, Jimmy Brumbalow and Billy Lewis Anthony.

Mrs. Willlingham

Mae Pettit Willingham, 89 of Gustine, died June 8 in a Stephenville care center. Funeral services were held April 11 in the Hall and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Calcote officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Gustine.
Mrs. Willingham was born Sept. 17, 1912 in Pottsville, the daughter of J.K. and Alice Upham Thompson. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pettit Baptist Church and had been a life-long resident of the area.
She was married to Cliff Pettit on June 10, 1932. He preceded her in death on Jan. 21, 1965. She then married Coye Willingham on Jan. 4, 1974. He preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 1995.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Kenneth Earl Pettit Jr. in 1960.
Survivors include her daughter, Kay (Pettit) McDougal and husband A.A. of Energy; three sons, Kenneth Pettit and wife Nelda of Azle, Jack Pettit and wife Willie Fern of Pettit and William (Bill) Pettit and wife Linda of Burleson.

Mr. Graham

Gordon (Bill) Graham, 93, of Gatesville, died June 9, 2002 in Fort Worth. Graveside services were held June 10 at the Graham Ranch family cemetery in the Hay Valley Community with Rev. Doug Bates officiating.
He was born April 21, 1909 in Gatesville, the son of William A. and Idella Pearl Graham. His great-grandparents, Captain Gideon and Elizabeth Graham, settled in Coryell County around 1850. His grandparents Jesse Abner and Nancy Graham were also Coryell County pioneers in the Osage Community.
Mr. Graham was a long-time cattle rancher, living on the family ranch north of Gatesville for 90 of his 93 years.
He was married to Stella Lavern Etchison on Aug. 27, 1932. She preceded him in death in 1983.
He was also preceded in death by his daughter Laurie in 1972; a son-in-law, Ray Don Williams in 1981; and his brother, Allen Graham and sister Ollie Graham Gilmer.
Mr. Graham was a deacon and faithful member of the Hay Valley Baptist Church and served as their song leader for 33 years.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Holcomb Graham; a sister, Claudine Boyd; daughters, Billie and husband Curt Apel of Burleson, Linda and husband Ron Launder of Fort Worth, Jodie and husband Fred Trainor of Fort Worth; stepson, Charles and wife Millie Holcomb of Lawton, Okla; his grandchildren, Julie Pederson, Tony Apel, Shelly Ollar, Kelly Williams, Tracey Britton, Graham and Raine Trainor and great-grandchildren, Erica and Trey Pederson, Jeremy, Whitney and Zachary Apel, Mason and Matthew Ollar, Kelsey and Casey Williams, Dylan and Lauren Britton and twin great-great-grandsons, Jonah and Hudson Apel.

Mrs. Pulliam

Barbara Pulliam died June 8 at a Fort Worth hospital after a long illness. Funeral services will be held June 13 at Mount Olivet Chapel with graveside services at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be at A.C. Jarrell Cemetery in Pottsville.
Mrs. Pulliam was a retired professional car hop.
Survivors include her husband, Cleo Pulliam of Fort Worth; four adopted sons, David R. Partian of Azle, Richard N. Smith of Fort Worth, V.J. Eperson of Lexington, Ky. Randel Horse of Charlotte, SC; a brother, A.C. Jarrell Jr. and wife Patsy of Pottsville and niece Alycia Ann Iams of Hamilton.

Mr. King

Billy Clinton King 73 of Hamilton died June 9, 2002 at Hamilton. Funeral services were held June 11 at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Allen Moorhead officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton.
He was born December 30, 1928 in Decatur, Wise County, Texas, the son of John W. and Loira A. Erwin King.
Mr. King was married to Agnes Adams August 12, 1955. She had three sons by a previous marriage, Kenneth, Richard and Gary Adams. The Kings were Chaplains in Campers for Christ an R.V. Ministry. They also had a ministry of their own, witnessing about Jesus and passing out Christian tracts.
Mr. King was also an ordained minister. His greatest attributes were his love for Jesus Christ and the special love he had for his wife. He also loved his two remaining stepsons and their families.
He was proud of his service in the Merchant Marines, having joined when he was fifteen years old. He served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam, the ships he was on were attacked several times by the enemy. He received six medals and retired in 1983 as a navigation office after serving for 40 years.
He is preceded in death by his wife; a stepson, Gary; his father; mother; five brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include two stepsons and their wives, Kenneth and Honey Adams, Richard and Brenda Adams both of Deer Park; five grandsons; one granddaughter; four great- grandsons; four great- grand-daughters and one brother T.J. King of Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Pallbearers were Jody Harris, Danny King, Juston Goodman, Brian Adams, Derrell Harris and James “Chip” Harris.
