Ray New, 73, of Hamilton, died Dec. 1, 2003 in Clifton. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4 in the Clifton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Boggy Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Zella New of Hamilton; two sons, David New of Cranfills Gap, Keith New of Plano; a daughter, Barbie Kauitzsch of Hamilton; a brother, William Loyd New of Clifton; six sisters, Hazel McCasland of Weatherford, Mary Pearl Brown of Coppell, Nellie Dickerson of Washington State, Ann Shannon of Azle, Ida Hauke of Clifton, Faye Rasco of Burleson; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Dr. Stanford

Delores Helen Stanford, 69, longtime Professor of Home Economics at College of the Ozarks, passed away suddenly in her home on Lake Taneycomo in Hollister, Mo., on Jan 17, 2004.
Funeral services were held Jan. 22, 2004 at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel in Hamilton with burial following in Oakwood Cemetery with Dr. James Ballard officiating.
She was born February 24, 1935, in Hamilton, the daughter of V.B. and Callie Stanford. She graduated from her hometown high school, and attended Texas Women’s University in Denton, graduating with her Bachelor of Science degree in 1958. She received her Master of Arts in1959 from North Texas University in Denton, and her Doctor of Philosophy in 1974 from Texas Women’s University.
She went to School of the Ozarks in 1962 and served as a home economics teacher and professor there until 1994, developing the high school home economics classes into a home economics program for the two-year college, and later for the four-year program.
After her departure from academia, she entered business and was the owner of Economy Screen Printing in Kirbyville from 1994 until her death.
Though stricken at an early age by polio, she never let her handicap and the adversities affect her optimistic life philosophy or the achieving of her own goals. At the College, she was a dedicated sports fan, especially of women’s basketball, and she was an avid supporter of the Beacon Hill summer theater program.
She liked animals and always had a four-legged family of dogs, and she liked to watch the wildlife and activity on the lake from her home.
Dr. Stanford was preceded in death by her parents, her brother-in-law, Clifford Conner, all of Hamilton.
Survivors include a sister, Verlin Stanford Conner of Red Oak; her niece, Betty Conner Robinson of Waxahachie; a nephew, Charles Conner of Palestine and three grand-nephews, Jerrod Robinson, Adam Robinson, and Charles M. Conner.
A memorial service was held on Jan. 25, at the First United Methodist Church in Branson, Mo.
Pallbearers were Jerrod Robinson, Adam Robinson, Bart Thompson, Ted Conner, Billy Morgan and Charles Michael Conner.
In lieu of flowers and in honor of Dr. Stanford’s love and concern for the other species that share the planet, memorial donations may be made to your local Humane Society or local chapter of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Mrs. Couch

Beulah M. Couch, 66, formerly of Brownwood, died Jan. 21, 2004 at Hamilton General Hospital. A memorial service was held Jan. 24 in Abilene at Community Memorial Funeral Home with Mark Burgess officiating.
She was born in Silver Valley on Aug. 4, 1937 and lived most of her life in Brownwood. She loved her grandchildren and going to garage sales.
Mrs. Couch was a house parent with the Texas Youth Commission in Brownwood for 30 years before retiring and was a member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Annie Stovall and a brother, J.B. Stovall.
Survivors include two sons, Tracy Couch and wife Cissy of Star and Paul Couch and wife Pauline of San Diego, Calif; a brother, Billy Stovall and wife Ruth of Ballinger; two sisters, Annie Bea Wilkins of Hartford, SD and Fannie Faye Langhennig of Seagraves; four grandchildren, Tarren and Reagan Couch of Early and Kimberly and Cody Couch of Star; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Broyles

Hazel Arnold Broyles, 88, of Evant died at Gatesville Jan. 21, 2004. Funeral services were held Jan. 23 in the First United Methodist Church at Evant with burial following in Langford Cemetery, Rev. James Marrs officiating.
She was born April 28, 1915 at Evant, the daughter of A.O. (Yank) Arnold and Mary Aletha Sneed Arnold.
On November 24, 1937 she was united in marriage to James Broyles at Evant. He preceded her in death on Nov. 30, 1974.
The couple had a grocery store in Evant for many years. Mrs. Broyles worked as bookkeeper and office manager for Bert Schrank LP Gas Company in Evant and Lampasas prior to retirement.
Survivors include one sister, Lucille Conley of Evant; a niece, Elaine Porter of Evant and nephews Doug Conley of Irving and Scott Broyles of McKinney.
Pallbearers were Armand Clary, Scott Marwitz, Kyle Arnold, Leon Vernon, Sammy Petty and Clynton Smith.

Mrs. Pierson

Lela B. Pierson, 98, died Jan. 24, 2004 at Hamilton. Funeral services were held Jan. 27 at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Ballard officiating. Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Pierson was born Sept. 13, 1905 at Corsicana, the daughter of A.J. and Ada Wilkerson Harris. She grew up on a ranch with two sisters at Gentry’s Mill where she went to school. She completed school at Hamilton.
She was married to John Kriss Pierson on Oct. 13, 1929 at Hamilton. He preceded her in death on Feb. 11, 1969.
Mrs. Pierson worked for Haskell Harelik’s for many years and after the death of her husband she worked for Hidden Valley Store. She was very active until her move to Forrest Ridge Care Center at the age of 96.
She was one of the original cooks and servers for the Lion’s Club and other events at the Methodist Church for many years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and two sisters Francis Leggett and Mae Pierson.
Survivors include her son, John E. Pierson and wife Ann of College Station; grandchildren, Melissa Ewers and husband Jeff of Tyler, John K. Pierson and wife Shelia of North Richland Hills; great-grandchildren, Aeryn Shiffer and husband J.P. of Frisco, Lauren Wooley and husband Tommy of Katy, Paige Pierson and Taylor Pierson, both of North Richland Hills and great-great-granddaughter Avery Shiffer of Frisco.
Pallbearers were Larry Pierson, Dick Pierson, Leonard Kirkland, William Kirkland, Roger Pierson, Howard Pierson and Jo Ann Pierson.

Mr. Pospech

Richard Allen Pospech Sr., 47, died at Jonesboro Jan. 25, 2004. Graveside funeral services were held Jan. 28 at Turnbow Cemetery with Rev. James Miers officiating.
Mr. Pospech was born May 21, 1956 at Corpus Christi, the son of Willie Joe Pospech and Joyce Annette Staggs Pospech.
He loved nature and the outdoors. He enjoyed the early morning watching the sun come up beginning a new day. He enjoyed taking time to watch the sunset after a day of working outdoors as a welder and working with iron.
Mr. Pospech a was hard and tough worker with a kind heart on the inside. He enjoyed and loved his family and friends. At the Rocking Chair Ranch he enjoyed helping out cutting the grass and assisting the management.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Joyce Pospech of Jonesboro; sons, Richard Allen Pospech of Fort Worth and Joshua Richard Maples of Granbury; his mother, Joyce Barger of Hamilton; a sister, Kim Ramos of Hamilton; three brothers, Wesley Pospech of Weatherford, Tommy Pospech of Alum Bridge, W. Va. and Kevin Barger of Weatherford.
Pallbearers were Joe Register, Johnny Sutton, James Biley, Keith Pospech, Jerry Alredge and Wayne Langdon.

Mrs. Wood

Frankie Jeaneen Ray Wood, 72, died Jan. 23, 2004 at Hamilton. Funeral services were held Jan. 27 at the Riley Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Ray officiating. Burial followed in Ater Cemetery.
Mrs. Wood was born March 20, 1931 near McGregor in Coryell County, the daughter of Charlie and Sallie Kays Ray.
She was married to Robert Hoyett Wood on Dec. 21, 1946 at Gatesville. She worked 15 years for the telephone company in Gatesville prior to retiring from TDC. She was a member of the West Main Street Church of Christ in Gatesville.
Survivors include her husband, Hoyett Wood of Hamilton; one son, Robert Ray Wood and wife Jeri of Glen Rose; a grandson, Robert Aaron Wood; two step-grandchildren, Dean and Randi Lee Jones; two brothers, Charlie Ray of Lubbock and Freddy Ray of Copperas Cove.
She is preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Shirley Heck; five brothers, Forrest, Loraine, Barney, Woodly Thomas and R.B. Ray.
Pallbearers were Bryan Heck, Thomas Heck, Stuart Carpenter, Jeff Carpenter, Charles Ray and Curtis Don Ray.

Mrs. Chambliss

Emma Jo Chambliss died March 27, 2004 at Hamilton. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. March 30, in the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wesley Jones and Rev. Bert DeBord officiating. Burial followed in Live Oak Cemetery.
Mrs. Chambliss was born July 27, 1923 at Hamilton, the daughter W. D. (Bill) Riley and Elsie Arnett Riley. On Nov. 5, 1939 at Schoolfield, Va., she was married to James Walter ( J. W.) Chambliss.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her family and friends and added a spark in any room she entered. Jo and J. W. made their home in Fort Worth for many years, prior to retirement, where Jo was employed with Texas Instruments.
She served on the board of United Care organization in which she was one of the founding members. She was the president of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary where she has been a member for 20 years and she was a 50-year member of the Eastern Star. She and J. W. attended the Lanham Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, J. W. Chambliss of Hamilton; two sons, James Mike Chambliss of Hamilton and Joe Anthony Chambliss and his wife Jayne of Euless; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild, one sister, Jane Easterling of Hamilton and one brother, Jack Riley of Orlando, Florida.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Helen Riley and one brother Dale Riley.
Pallbearers were Bryan Stiles, Wayne Walls, Harvey Howard, Johnny Duer, Darrell Easterling and Vernon Bracewell.

Mr. Fulcher

Winfee B. Fulcher, 77, died March 23, 2004 in Hamilton. Graveside services were held March 27 in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mr. Fulcher was born August 11, 1926 in Hamilton County, the son of Robert Monroe Fulcher and Mary Elizabeth Gordon Fulcher.
He was married to Effie B. Tabers on May 22, 1944. He was devoted to his family, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Mr. Fulcher was a lifetime farmer and stockman in Hamilton County. Prior to retirement he was employed with Reinert Feed Store where he worked for many years. He was a member of the Park Heights Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Effie B. Fulcher of Hamilton; a daughter, Gayle Martin and her husband Bobby of Arlington; two sons, Jerry Fulcher and his wife Linda and Gordon Fulcher and his wife Diann of Hamilton; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one brother Jack Fulcher of Dallas.
Pallbearers were Monty Fulcher, Robby Fulcher, Bobby Fulcher Jr., Randy Fulcher, Garrett Fulcher, Andrew Simmerman and Jesus Velazquez.

Mrs. Smith

Funeral services for M. Corrine Smith, 88, were held April 1, 2004 at Restland Memorial Chapel.
She was born June 16, 1915, the daughter of A.L. Bullard and Harriett Griffis Bullard.
She was married to Ross Smith on April 18, 1937 in Dallas. He preceded her in death in 1982.
She retired from Farmers Stockman Magazine owned by Oklahoma City Publishing in 1980, where she was circulation manager since the mid 1940s. She was a member of Colonial Baptist Church.
Survivors include a brother, Jack H. Bullard of Mineral Wells; a sister, Mary Beth Brown of Dallas; three nieces and a nephew.
Restland

Mrs. Turner

Sally Ann Turner, 84, of Hamilton died April 3, 2004. Funeral services were held April 5, at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel in Hamilton with Rev. Wesley Jones and Rev. Jim Townsend officiating. Burial followed in the Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton.
Mrs. Turner was born June 6, 1919 in Hamilton County, the daughter of Rufe S. Turner and Bessie Hambright Turner.
After graduating from high school she attended beauty school and worked as a beautician for a number of years. She then went to business school. And was later employed by Stewart Title Company where she held the position of closer for the company. She was dedicated in her work, seeing that all things were done to the utmost degree.
After retirement she returned to Hamilton to make her home. She was devoted to her family, helping take care of her mother and her sister Stacy for a number of years.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Stacy Turner and Mavis McClanahan and one brother, R.H. Turner.
Survivors include a niece, Patricia McClanahan of Stephenville, and host of cousins and friends.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Whitt, Don Conner, Mickey Kinsey, Johnny Clepper, James Craig, Habert Hopper, Seth Craig and Darrell Forrest.
Honorary Pallbearers were Milton Harelik and Garland Short.
