Mrs. Hodo
Erma Lee Hodo, 86, of Evant, died July 27, 2002 in Gatesville.
She was born Jan. 20, 1916 in Pearl and graduated from Pearl High School in 1934.
She met her husband, Weldon, at the Pearl Skating Rink. They were married on July 21, 1936. He preceded her in death on January 25, 1998.
One rarely saw Erma Lee without seeing Weldon by her side. They worked side by side at home and for almost 30 years at The El Rancho Café, which they owned. Weldon had his real estate office in the cafe and they both managed the restaurant.
Mrs. Hodo was a warmhearted, gentle and generous woman who was always willing to help those in need. Her kind hands and big tender heart were constantly extended. The window of her heart, and the door of her home were always open for family members, neighbors or friends who needed help, advice, a shoulder to lean on, or just wanted to sit and visit for awhile.
Mrs. Hodo was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, Gayle Brown and a sister, Nelda Brown.
Survivors include a brother, Meryl Brown and his wife Ann of Eagle Pass; a sisters-in-law, Edna McDonald and her husband D.W. of Evant; Duella Hodo and Mary Harris, both of Evant; a brother-in-law Kenneth Hodo of Lafayette, La.; her son, Larry Weldon Hodo and his wife Caroll of Katy; her granddaughter, Christi Lee Hodo of San Marcos; Sue Wilhite, raised as a daughter and her husband, Russell of Gatesville and their sons, David, Danny and Darren; nieces, Texann Brown of Hamilton; Linda Gayle Marugg of Huntsville; Merelane Brown of Eagle Pass; nephews, Johnny Leo Brown of Eagle Pass, and Timmy Brown of Evant.

Mrs. Stanford
Jacque (Dittrich) Stanford died July 16, 2002 at Hamilton Healthcare Center.
She was born Feb. 2, 1911, the daughter of Hugo and Martha Ellen (Votaw) Dittrich.
She was a lifelong resident of Hamilton County and a graduate of Mt. View High School class of 1927.
She was married to Hiram Stanford on Feb. 2, 1929.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Cranfills Gap until moving to Pleasant Valley Baptist Church near Jonesboro.
In recent years Jacque made Hamilton Healthcare Center her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, an infant son and Rudy Valentine Stanford and a daughter, Ellen Mavis New.
Survivors include her brother, Ovie Dittrich of Jonesboro; two sisters, Vondal Carruthers of Granbury and Hulene Bell of Beaumont; three grandchildren, David New of Cranfills Gap, Keith New of Plano and Barbara Manzoni of Hamilton; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Mr. Dalton
Murl Dalton, 81, died July 22, 2002. Funeral services were held July 26 at Bethany Primitive Baptist Church in San Antonio. Burial was at Mission Burial Park North.
He was born Nov. 5, 1920 in Lamkin, the son of Elder Len and Mollie Dalton.
He volunteered for the Navy immediately after Pearl Harbor and served for more than four years. Mr. Dalton then worked in San Antonio for Southern Music, C. Bruno and Sons, Inc. for 42 years.
He was married to Claudia Hudspeth on Aug. 7, 1949. She preceded him in death after almost 53 years together.
Mr. Dalton was a faithful husband, father and spiritual leader. From an early age he was devoted to the Primitive Baptist Church, serving as a deacon for many years. He loved the Lord his God with all his heart, soul, mind and strength and loved his neighbor as himself.
Survivors include his wife, Claudia Dalton; a daughter, Carol Brown and husband Eric; sons, Larry Dalton and wife Julie, Kenneth Dalton and wife Sandy; sisters, Warrene Koen and Mollie Dalton; a brother, Joe Dalton and wife Wanda; sisters-in-law, Velma Dalton and Nancy Dalton; grandchildren, Elisabeth, Michael, Emily, Sarah, Stephen, Joshua, David, Caleb, Josiah, John, Daniel and Jeremiah Dalton, Rebecca Kathryn, Caroline, Julia and John Eric Brown and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bobby J. Elam, 69 of Stephenville died July 27 in a local nursing Home. Graveside services were held July 30 at Indian Gap Cemetery with Rev. James Ballard officiating.
She was born Dec. 7, 1932 in Hamilton and was married to George Washington Elam on Dec. 24, 1990. He preceded her in death in 1992.
She was a retired factory worker from Walls Manufacturing and she was a Methodist.
She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Wayne Wells on Feb. 1, 1997.
Survivors include her son, Ronnie Lee Wells and three grandchildren.

Ronnie Lee Wells, 49, died Oct. 4, 2003 in Fort Worth. Memorial services will be held Oct. 8 at 8 p.m. at Lacy Funeral Home Chapel in Stephenville.
Mr. Wells was born Jan. 21, 1954 in Bakersfield, Calif. the son of Wayne Wells and Bobby (Em-brey) Elam. He was married to Linda Aguilar on Nov. 11, 1996 in Stephenville.
He was a clinical coordinator in the surgery department at Harris Methodist Hospital in Stephenville. He was energetic, intelligent and creative. Mr. Wells took great pride in all he did at work or at home. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, col-lecting model cars, baseball cards, etc. and was able to rebuild or repair just about anything. He was a vet-eran of the U.S. Marines.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bobby J. Elam on July 27, 2002 and a brother, Dennis Wayne Wells on Feb. 1, 1997.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Wells of Stephenville; a daughter, Elissa Lambaria of Stephenville; a son, Justin Lambaria of Stephen-ville; a grandson, Aundre Lambaria of Stephenville and his father, Wayne Wells of China Springs.

Dayton S. Beasley, 59, of Long-view, died Oct. 5, 2003 in Dallas at Baylor University Medical Center after a long and courageous battle with leukemia. Funeral services will be held Oct. 8 at Summerfield United Methodist Church with Dr. William Couvillion officiating.
He was born Sept. 13, 1944 in Corsicana, the son of Samuel and Lora Ruth Beasley. He graduated from Mansfield High School in 1963 and the University of Texas at Arlington in 1969.
He worked as an electrical engi-neer for Exxon for many years be-fore he purchased Cloud’s Pleez-ing Sandwiches in 1975. He was a member of the Summerfield United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Bar-bara Ormsby Beasley of Longview; son and daughter-in-law, Joel and Heather Beasley of Longview; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Heath Parker of Longview; Barbara’s son, Aaron and wife, Reagan Ormsby of Bluffton, Ind.; his mother, Lora Ruth Beasley of Mansfield; brother and sister-in-law, Ronnal and Patsy Beasley of Hamilton; sister and brother-in-law, Ruth Ann and Terry Bewley of Longview; his grandchildren, Anne-lies, Bronwyn and Benjamin Beasley; Stephanie, Brittany and Dayton Charles Parker and Ethan Ormsby as well as numerous neph-ews, nieces and cousins.

Louisa Laura (Lula) Brandon Payne 96 of Hamilton died Oct. 2, 2003 at the Hamilton Health Care Center. Funeral services were held Oct. 4 at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Weaver and Rev. Ricky Loy officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery.
She was born August 4, 1907 in Okesia, Okla., the daughter of Robert Miller Brandon and Virginia Kathrine (Kate) Jackson Brandon.
She was married to Charlie Ar-thur Payne On May 11, 1929, in Hamilton. He preceded her in death on Nov. 18, 1975. She was a de-voted wife and helpmate to her hus-band, a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Mrs. Payne was active in the R.S.V.P delivering meals on wheels, Swing-ing 60 band and volunteering at the Senior Center.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie A. Payne; son, Charles Stifflemire; daughter, Ma-mie Smythe; two daughters-in-law, Juanita Payne and Louise Stif-flemire; four sisters and three broth-ers, Lydia Wynn, Dora Thrilkill, Myrtle Strange, Viola McLemore, Fred Brandon, Frank Brandon and Ray Brandon.

Wyona Grba, 67, of Evant died Oct. 6 at Coryell Memorial Hospital in Gatesville. Funeral services will be held Oct. 9 at 11 a.m. at Stacy-Wilkins Chapel in Goldthwaite with Don Paulson officiating. Burial will be at Goldthwaite Memorial Ceme-tery.
Mrs. Grba was born June 2, 1936 in Goldthwaite, the daughter of Roy Tyson and Frankie Thomas. She lived most of her adult life in Evant. She was a seamstress and a member of the Assembly of God.
She is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Charlie Tyson, Rudy Tyson and Roy Tyson.
Survivors include her sons, Bob Grba of Spring and Mike Grba of Brownwood; a daughter, Cindy Long of Gatesville; six grandchil-dren, Michelle Tully of Brady, Amanda Grba of College Station, Amber Grba of Anchorange, Ala., Chris Long of San Marcos, Jason Grba of Goldthwaite, Phillip Berry of Gatesville; two brothers, J.C. Annie Elsie Orvig Seale 80, died Sept. 30, 2003 at Hamilton. Funeral services were held Oct. 3 at the Ri-ley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Smith officiating. Burial fol-lowed in Murphree Cemetery at Evant.
Mrs. Seale was born February 21, 1923 at Energy, the daughter of John C. Orvig and Minnie Annie Ebeling Orvig.
She was married to Sam Quit-man Seale on July 6, 1954 in Gates-ville. He preceded her in death on Oct. 28, 1986.
Mrs. Seale was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include three children, Rita Loden, Brenda Kavanaugh and Sammy Seale all of Hamilton; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters and two brothers, Ima Hare of Fort Worth, Uma Lee of Harker Heights, Nor-man (Buck) Orvig of Emory and John Orvig of Whitney.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters Rosalea Featherson and Olga Moore and one infant brother.

Mrs. Woolner
Sarah Jo (Parrish) Woolner, 67, died July 26 in Wichita Falls. Funeral services were held July 29, 2002 in the chapel of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls with Rev. Curt Plaxco, First Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Graveside services were held at the Live Oak Cemetery in Hamilton on July 30.
She was born May 10, 1935 in Hamilton, the daughter of the late George and Bivian (Raney) Parrish.
She was married to William R. Woolner in Las Vegas, Nev on Aug. 19, 1964. A long time Wichita Falls resident, she worked as a secretary for States Geophysical and then as a realtor.
Mrs. Woolner was an advodate for Mental Health and Mental Retardateion, a member of the Geologists and Land Wife’s Associaiton and of the Desk and Derrick Club. She spent many hours volunteering her time to help others.
She was preceded in death by her son, Joe Paul, in 1951.
Survivors include her husband, William R. Woolner; a daughter, Connie Wisdom and husband Ronnie, all of Wichita Falls; a son, Johnny Woolner and wife Val of Muddy Gap, Wyo.; a brother, G.W. Parrish and wife Marian of Hamilton; a sister, Maurice Gibbs and husband Tom of College Station; grandchildren, Candi Woolner, Jenny Woolner, Kayla Woolner, Lillie Woolner, Zachary Wisdom and Zane Wisdom and a great-granddaughter, Anneka Belen Woolner.
