Millie Bryant Odom

TRINITY – Services for Millie Bryant Odom, 97, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004, at the Lone Star Baptist Church in Trinity.
Mrs. Odom died peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 11, in Fort Worth.
She was born March 15, 1907, in Trinity and was known as a loving mother, grandmother, daughter and sister throughout her long life. During her life there was nothing she valued more than her faith in God and her family, especially her 11 grandchildren who knew her as “Au-Millie.”
She was preceded in death by her husband and nine siblings.
Cox Funeral Home is directing the arrangements.
Frances LeOla ‘George’ Owens

TRINITY – Services for Frances LeOla “George” Owens, 91, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004, in the Waller-Thornton Fu-neral Home in Trinity.
Burial followed in the Grace Memorial Cemetery in Santa Fe, Texas.
Mrs. Owens was born Sept. 8, 1913, in Mustang Prairie, the oldest of 10 children born to Floyd and Lena Lathrop. She was a homemaker and was known for her love of children. She also was widely known for her generosity and kindness.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Owens; a son, Vernon Owens; and three brothers, Henry Lathrop, Harvey Lathrop and Bill Lathrop.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Viniarski and friend, Phillip Wagner, and Frances Rankin and friend, Tommy Jones; two sons and their spouses, James and Reba Owens and Jerry and Neta Owens; three brothers and their spouses, Odell Lathrop, Bobby and Nell Lathrop and Ray and Bertha Lathrop; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Erma Hamm, Ada Parish and Eula and Pat Thompson; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; special nephews and their spouses, Danny Owens, Robert and Ona Owens and Jimmy and Debbie Owens; a “daughter” sent by God, Bobbie Graham; and a special friend, Nickie.
Pallbearers included Joe Dell Hamm, Danny Owens, Donald Owens, Dean Owens, Terry Tate, Robert Owens, Jimmy Owens and Roy Darnell Hamm.

Lula Tullos Carper

TRINITY – Graveside services for Lula Tullos Carper, 83, of Crockett and formerly of Groveton were held at noon Friday, Nov. 5, 2004, at the Bennett Cemetery.
Mrs. Carper died Wednesday, Nov. 3, in a Crockett hospital.
She was born March 23, 1921, in the Scrub Creek Community in Trinity County and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Carper.
Survivors include three sons and their spouses, Joe Mack and Molly Kuehn of Houston, Glenwood and Joyce Kuehn of Houston and John Roland and D.J. Carper of Porter; four daughters and a son-in-law, Carolyn and Charles Monk of Groveton, JoAnn Madden of Porter, Ernestine Jones of Latexo and Brenda Deaton Fox of Houston; 11 grandchildren, Michael Peires, Carolyn Denise Justice, Caron Dee Rushing, Terry Stallings, Lu Ann Pardlhn, Curtis Stifflemire, Pamela Douglas, Glenda Kuehn, Christopher Carper, Jimmy Lee Fox and Vanessa Fox; 12 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Maelyn Nicole Gensman

TRINITY – Services for Maelyn Nicole Gensman, infant daughter of Dustin and Heather Gensman of Cheyenne, Wyo., were held Friday, Nov. 5, 2004, at the Olympia Metro Church in Olympia, Wash.
The child was born Feb. 6, 2004, and died on Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2004.
Survivors include her parents; grandparents, Kurt and Vicki Gensman of Baskerville, Va.; and great-grandparents, Archie and Jessie West of Trinity.
Geneva Mae McInnis

TRINITY – Services for Geneva Mae McInnis, 81, of Trinity were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, 2004, at the First United Method-ist Church of Trinity with the Rev. Jim White officiating.
Burial followed in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Trinity where she was laid to rest beside her late husband, Fred Buster McInnis.
Mrs. McInnis died Thursday, Oct. 21, at her residence.
She was born July 23, 1923, in Joshua, the daughter of Claude and Stella Tarpley Underwood. Mrs. McInnis was a homemaker and worked as a seamstress, making draperies for U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) apartments. She also enjoyed making clothing for her family and friends.
Mrs. McInnis was a member of the Trinity First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ronald McInnis and Michael and Carla McInnis; a sister and brother-in-law, Billie and William Backley; a brother and sister-in-law, Sterling and Marlene Underwood; four grandchildren, Paul, Nolan, Palmer and Michelle Garza and her husband, Todd; two great-grandchildren, Zoe and Mea; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 3169, Trinity, Texas 75862.

John William Scarborough

TRINITY – Graveside services for John William Scarborough, 68, of Shreveport, La., and formerly of Trinity were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004, at the Saron Cemetery near Trinity with the Rev. Kenneth Myers officiating.
Mr. Scarborough died Thursday, Oct. 28.
Survivors include three sons, John Scarborough, Marc Scarborough and Joseph Scarborough; and a number of grandchildren.

Carnie Collins Tyler

TRINITY – Carnie Collins Tyler, 77, lost his battle with cancer on Oct. 20, 2004, at his home in Trinity.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22 at the Waller-Thornton Funeral Home, 203 San Jacinto Street in Trinity.
Burial followed in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Trinity
A graduate of Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Mr. Tyler retired from Shell Oil Co. in 1985 to build his dream waterfront home on Lake Livingston that he and his wife of 56 years, Alda Ray Tyler, enjoyed to the time of his death.
His 38-year career with Shell began in Colorado City, Texas, and included assignments in Houston, New York City, New Orleans, Tulsa and Los Angeles. At the time of his retirement he was a supervisor at the company’s Information and Computer Services facility in Houston.
A dedicated do-it-yourselfer, Mr. Tyler designed and built two lakeside homes with his own hands, and was constantly engaged in a variety of mechanical and construction projects. He enjoyed boating and water skiing with his family, and spent his retirement traveling North America with his wife in their motor home.
Born Dec. 27, 1926, on the family farm in Clyde, Mr. Tyler was preceded in death by his only brother, L.M. Tyler of Amarillo, and his grandson, Grant Alexander Tyler of Billings, Mont., who was lost at age 21 in a storm while kayaking in Puget Sound.
Survivors include his wife, Alda Ray Tyler of Trinity; three sons and their spouses; David Lynn and Sandee Tyler of Billings, Mont., Steven Collins and Mary Anne Tyler of Trinity and Robert Wayne and Jeanna Tyler of Houston; a sister-in-law, Lois Preslar of Abilene; a special cousin, Donnell Clark and his wife, ImoJean, of Cross Plains; and his grandchildren, including Richard Collins Tyler and wife Dawn of LaPorte, Elyse Marie Tyler of Dallas, Amy Michelle Tyler of San Marcos, Toni Nannette and Vincent Creg Tyler of Houston, and Victoria Camille Tyler of Trinity.
Mr. Tyler also lived to see the birth of his first great-grandchild in July of this year, Sean Collins Tyler of LaPorte.

Edward Wayne Allen

TRINITY – Memorial services for Edward Wayne “Fast Eddie” Allen, 54, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 10, 2004, at the Waller-Thornton Funeral Home with the Rev. Leroy Brown officiating.
Mr. Allen died Sunday, Oct. 3.
He was born Oct. 5, 1949, in St. Louis, Mo., the son of the late Everett and Naomi Allen. He was self-employed and worked as a carpenter and as a certified auto mechanic.
Survivors include a daughter, Tammy Allen; a sister and brother-in-law, Trenna and Rankin Ramsey and their sons, Joshua, Allen and Eric; a number of uncles and aunts; and a number of cousins.

Harold Manvel Cameron

TRINITY – Services for Harold Manvel Cameron, 75, of Trinity were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 11, 2004, in the Waller-Thornton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Lyle Stubbs officiating.
Burial followed in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Trinity.
Mr. Cameron died quietly on Sunday, Oct. 10, in Lufkin.
He was born Dec. 14, 1928, in Dallas and was known as a loving father. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Cameron was preceded in death by his wife, Margie; and a son, Terry Huff.
Survivors include three sons, Walter “Scooter” Cameron, Michael Huff and Jimmy Huff; two daughters and their spouses, Candy and Tommy Kovalcik and Linda and Michael Rasberry; a daughter-in-law, Karen Huff; two sisters, Margie Tillery and Gladys Williams; and a half-sister and her spouse, Brenda and J.R. McCoslin.
