CORRIGAN -- Funeral services for John William Wright, 69, of Corrigan were held Saturday, September 18, 2004 in the First Assembly of God Corrigan with Pastor Phil Corbett officiating. Interment followed in the Pine Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Wright was born June 27, 1935 in Corrigan and passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2004 in a Lufkin hospital. He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Martin Wright, brothers, Edgar Wright, Jerry Wright and Gerald and Earl Wright.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years; Charlotte Jeffers Wright of Corrigan; mother Lydia Wright of Corrigan; son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Connie Wright of Cor-rigan; daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Clarence Mitchamore of Hortense; Linda and Randy Hendry of Corrigan and Mary and Jerry Hoot of Corrigan; brothers and sisters-in-law, LeRoy and Tommye Wright of Corrigan; Donald Wright of Baytown; Arnold Wright of Baytown and Rita Wright of Corrigan; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Ken Kendrick of Lufkin; numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Wright, Keith Frankens, Chris Lucas, Larry Maxey, Charlie Jeffers and Jeff Hendry.
Services were entrusted to Corri-gan Funeral Home.

Steven Dwaine Price
September 20, 2004
CORRIGAN -- Funeral services for Steven Dwaine Price, 18, of Corrigan were held Saturday, September 11 in the Corrigan Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Judy Anderson officiating. Interment followed in the Stryker Cemetery.
Mr. Price was born November 26, 1985 in Lufkin and passed away Monday, September 6, 2004 in Corrigan. He was a senior at Corrigan-Camden High School. He was a Methodist by faith. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; R.C. and Margaret Fitzgerald, niece, Courtney Elizabeth Rayburn.
He is survived by his father, Jimmy Price and Susan Oliver of Corrigan; mother, Brenda Price of Hughes Springs; sisters and brothers-in-law, Cynthia R. and Archie Jackson of Diboll; Stephanie and Thomas Rayburn of Shreveport, La.; Jessica and Fling Humphrey of Port Charlotte, Fla.; and Sarah Price of Lubbock; nieces, Brittany Hudson of Corrigan; Alivia Jackson of Diboll; Aubry and Aryn Humphrey of Port Charlotte, Fla.; nephews, JayLon Jackson of Diboll and T.J. Rayburn of Shreveport, La.; grandparents, Benjamin and Joyce Price of Corrigan; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Daniel Pietre, Archie Jackson, Joseph Oliver, Chancellor Tant and Christopher Price.
Honorary pallbearers were Dennis Price, Bryan Price, Robert Price and numerous friends.
Services were entrusted to Corrigan Funeral Home.

Odessa Ruth Kennedy
September 20, 2004
CORRIGAN -- Funeral services for Odessa Ruth Kennedy, 86, of Corrigan were held Friday, September 10 in the Union Springs Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor James Brock and Pastor Royce Pennington officiating. Interment followed in the Stryker Cemetery
Mrs. Kennedy was born January 20, 1918 in the Benford Community of Corrigan. She was a homemaker and a member of the Union Springs Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny I. and Ada B. Baucom Herring; husband, Johnny E. Kennedy; son, John Wayne Kennedy; infant daughter, Fannin; brothers, Joe Bailey Herring and Luther Herring.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert E. and Jan Kennedy of Houston; daughters and sons-in-law, Gwen and Wallace Dickson of Corrigan; Lorene and Willie Gobert of Lufkin; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were John Herring, Mike Herring, Wayne Herring, Landrum B. Herring, Buddy Owens, A.J. Smith, Paul Cook, Larry Gibbs, Marcus Greenwood and Fred Lunsford.
Services were entrusted to Corrigan Funeral Home.

Elwin V. Seago
September 20, 2004
CORRIGAN -- Services for Elwin V. Seago, 79, of Corrigan, were held Wednesday in the First Baptist Church of Corrigan, with Reverend Frank Hood and Reverend James Sheorrock officiating. Interment followed in the Damascus Cemetery in Polk County.
Mr. Seago was born May 1, 1925, in Shelby County, Texas, the son of the late Lillie (Emmons) and Halford Seago. He passed away Sunday, September 12, 2004, at his residence in Corrigan.
Mr. Seago was a forester, and had worked for Southland Paper Mill for 22 years. He was a resident of Corrigan for 51 years. He was a 1951 graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University, with a Bachelor of Forestry degree. Mr. Seago loved to fish and hunt, and loved sports, especially the Corrigan Bulldogs and the Dallas Cowboys. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, a former director of the Texas Forestry Association, and a member of the Society of the American Forestry Gulf States Section. He was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church in Corrigan.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Seago of Corrigan; sons and daughters-in-law, Harold and Renee’ Seago of Corrigan; John and Cathy Seago of Willis and Terry and Mary Helen Seago of Bryan; daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and L.D. Rumfield of Flower Bluff; grandchildren, Vickie Graeber, Dayna Rumfield, Chris Seago, Lucus Rumfield, Allona Sloan, J.R. Seago, Joel Seago, Julie Warner, Stacey Ferguson and Clint Payne; 14 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
Mr. Seago was preceded in death by his brothers, Melvin Seago and Garland Seago; and sisters, Madie Koonce and Gertrude Ryan.
Pallbearers were Chris Seago, Lucus Rumfield, J.R. Seago, Joel Seago, Jonathan Graeber, David Warner, Clint Payne and Ricky Ferguson. Honorary pallbearers were Edward Ray, Jacob Sherman, Billy Mack Cockrell, Leroy Wright, O.L. McCarty, B.Z. Masters, Grimes Fortune and Ernest Rowe.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 5604 Old Bullard Road, Suite 106, Tyler, Texas 75703.

Jimmie Menifee

CORRIGAN – Services for Jimmie Lee Menifee, 70 of Chester will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 17, 2004 in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Corrigan with Pastor Willie Barnes officiating. Internet will follow in the Union Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Menifee was born August 27, 1934 in Richards, Texas and passed away Friday, September 10, 2004 in a Lufkin hospital. He was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Mr. Menifee retired in 1997 from Temple-Inland as a boiler operator. He was preceded in death by his parents; George & Georgia Poller Menifee, brothers; Ernest James Dodis, Donald Criswell and Raymond Lee Camel.
He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Lavada Menifee of Chester; sons, Anthony Menifee of Corrigan, Alvin Lee Menifee of Temple, George and Jimmie Lee Menifee both of Corrigan, Rayford Barlow of Lufkin, Michael Mitchell of Dallas; step-sons, Van Barlow, Charles Barlow and Charlie Barlow all of Lufkin; daughters, Sandra Menifee of Corrigan, Signora Broussard of Houston, Tonie Bradford of Corrigan, Leslie Menifee of Corrigan and LaGail Martin of Lufkin; brothers, Hollis Menifee of Houston, Vernon Dallas, Mary Louise Menifee and Betty Elam both of Silsbee.

Lilly Mae Miller
September 13, 2004
CORRIGAN -- Funeral services for Lilly Mae Miller, 72, of Trinity were held September 4 in the Corrigan Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Charlie Hodge officiating. Interment followed in the Carmona Cemetery.
Mrs. Miller was born April 15, 1932 in Bering, Texas in Polk County and passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2004 in Lufkin. Her husband, Ira Leon Miller; mother and father, Lillie Rosetta Story and Worthington Gibbs Glass; brother, Paul Gibbs Glass; sisters, Mary Glass and Lillie Lee Hodge preceded her in death.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Nancy Jernigan of Lufkin; Roger Dale and Jean Miller of Groveton; David Wayne Williams, Edward and Kathy Miller of Ocean Springs, Miss; daughters, Nita Barrett, Barbara Ann Miller, Betty Miller and Peggy Miller; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Faye Glass of Hockley; Clabe Owen and Ann Glass of Splendora and Robert William and Beverly Glass of Houston; sisters and brothers-in-law, Elizabeth and Alton Carter of Cleveland and Hazel and Rick Ankrum of Kingwood; 17 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; numerous family and friends.
Pallbearers were Rick Ankrum, Alton Carter, Gene Carter, Josh Erickson, Jerry Hudspeth and DeWayne Wallace.
Services were entrusted to Corrigan Funeral Home.

Margaret Edens Carter

CORRIGAN -- Funeral services for Margaret Edens Carter, 89, of the Canyon Lake area, were held September 3 in the First United Methodist Church of Corrigan with Pastors Judy Anderson, Charles Sutton and Sidney Carter Williams officiating. Interment followed in the Union Springs Cemetery in Corrigan.
Mrs. Carter was born August 21, 1915 in Burke and passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2004 in her home. She taught school in Corrigan until moving to the Lake Canyon area. She was a member of St. Francis by the Lake Episcopal Church where she was a member of the Daughters of the King. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. Her parents, W.F. and Cordelia Edens; brothers, James B. Edens and Earnest A. Eden; and a sister, Mary Lena Beckwith, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, John H. Carter of Canyon Lake; son, John Edens Carter of Canyon Lake; daughter and son-in-law, Cordelia and Sidney J. Gardner of Moscow; grandchildren, Mary Margaret Stevens and husband Brad of Dayton; Earnest E. Rowe Jr., and wife Barbara of Livingston; John Gregory Hafer and wife Aurora of Bellaire; and Sidney Carter Williams and wife Holly of Pollok; and great-grandchildren, Chad and Justin Rowe, Michael Stevens, Aaron and Megan Hafer.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Francis by the Lake Episcopal Church, Canyon Lake; American Cancer Society; First United Methodist Church, Corrigan; or Good Shepherd Baptist Church, Shepherd.
Services were entrusted to Corrigan Funeral Home.

Christopher Charles Kennedy

CORRIGAN -- Graveside services for Christopher Charles Kennedy, 28, of Romayor, Texas were held August 17 in the Union Springs Cemetery with Pastor Harold Seago officiating. Interment followed the graveside services.
Mr. Kennedy was born August 3, 1976 in Houston and passed away in an automobile accident on Saturday, August 14, 2004 in Coldspring. He worked as a machinist in the oil field industry.
He is survived by his wife, Jessica Kennedy of Romayor; sons, Christopher Charles Kennedy, Jr., and Shawn Hunt both of Romayor; father and step- mother, Charles and Kathleen Kennedy of Romayor; mother, Deborah Lumis of Huffman; sisters, Kerri Rene Puckett of Spring, Christina Lee Woods of Huffman, Angela Rene Woods of Houston, half-sister, April Lynn Lumis of Huffman; grandparents, Glenn and Louise Kennedy of Corrigan; great-grandparents, Edward and Marie Kennedy of Woodlake; father-in-law, John Hunt and mother-in-law, Frances Bishop.

Lisa Ann Vinson Blevins and Caleb Scott Blevins

CORRIGAN -- Lisa Ann Vinson Blevins, 36, and Caleb Scott Blevins, 5, both of Corrigan passed away due to injuries received in an auto accident August 10, 2004.
Lisa was a native of Hemphill. She lived in Connecticut before moving to Corrigan a short while ago. She was a homemaker. Caleb was a native of Connecticut. He lived in Corrigan a short while.
Lisa is survived by her husband, Stephen Blevins of Corrigan; father and step-mother, Leo and Barbara Vinson of Barnum; mother and stepfather, Barbara and Don Baird of Colmesneil; sons, Tyler Blevins of Corrigan, Ronnie Knox of Livingston and John Knox of Connecticut; sisters, Benita Citrano and husband Anthony of Chester, Pam Loftin of Chester, Jeannie Johnson and husband Dennis of Chester; Chyrl Pounds and husband Todd of Woodville, Tisha Martin and husband Tom of Lake Jackson and Amiee Burks and husband Kevin of Corrigan, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Caleb is survived by his father, Stephen Blevins of Corrigan; grandparents Leo and Barbara Binson of Barnum, Barbara and Don Baird of Colmesneil, Wayne Blevins of Louisiana and Diana Moore of Louisiana; brothers, Tyler Blevins of Corrigan; Ronnie Knox of Livingston and John Knox of Connecticut; aunts and uncles, Stephanie and Dain Simmons of La. Benita and Anthony, Pam Loftin, Jeannie and Dennis Johnson all of Chester; Chyrl and Todd Pounds of Woodville; Tisha and Tom Martin of Lake Jackson and Amiee and Kevin Burks of Corrigan; and numerous cousins.
Funeral services for Lisa and Caleb were held Friday, August 13, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Larry Trest and Brother Tony Pangle officiating. Burial followed at Pine Grove Cemetery in Barnum.

Minnie Leona Fairchild
August 23, 2004
CHESTER -- Minnie Leona Fairchild, 91, of Chester passed away August 10, 2004 at Dogwood Trails Manor Nursing Home.
Born February 10, 1913 in Kennard to Lon and Eva Money Hughes, she lived in Tyler County for many years. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her sons, Darrelton Richardson of Bridge City and Charlie Fairchild of Chester; daughter, Linda Martin of Beaumont; sisters, Mamie Watts of Sour Lake; Ethel Powell and Iva Barnes both of Chester; grandchildren, Russell Martin, Jennifer Martin, Darryl Richardson, Jana Richardson and Trina Fairchild Courtney; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Fairchild were held Friday, August 13, at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville with Brother Norman Turner and Rev. Steve Hays officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Chester.
Services were entrusted to Riley Funeral Home of Tyler County.

Preston White
August 23, 2004
GROVETON -- Funeral services for Preston White, 92, of Groveton, will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, August 19 in the Baldwin Chapel Baptist Church of Groveton with Pastor David G. Horace, Sr., officiating. Interment will follow in the Parker Ridge Cemetery in Groveton.
Mr. White was born July 4, 1916 in Chatfield (Navarro County), Texas and passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2004 in a Lufkin hospital. He was a log cutter by trade and a member of the Church of God in Christ Church in Nacogdoches. His son, Willie Ray White preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy White of Groveton, son and daughter-in-law, Preston and Jacquelyn White of Glen Allen, Virginia; brother, B.W. White of Lufkin; sisters, Mary L. Banks of Houston; Amanda Williams of Phoenix, Arizona and Fannie H. Moore of Pennington, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Robert Calvin, Robert Smith, Roy Phipps, Ernest Pennington, Jimmy Smith and Curtis McCloud.
Honorary pallbearers were Dorothy DeShawn White, Gregory Gerard White, Christopher Allen White, Preston Samuel White,Jr., Michell Allison White-Terry, Emiko (D.G.) Terry and Jordan D’eon Lewis.
Services were entrusted to Corrigan Funeral Home.
