TRINITY – Services for John Jerely Stephens, 25, of San Antonio were held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 2, 2004, in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel of the Chimes with Bro. Mark Abshier of the McArthur Park Church of Christ in San Antonio officiating, assisted by Bro. Lee Brinkmann of the Trinity Church of Christ.
Burial followed in Clapp Cemetery near Trinity.
Mr. Stephens died Monday, June 28, in San Antonio.
He was born April 3, 1979, at the Trinity Memorial Hospital in Trinity. He was reared in Trinity and attended school here for many years.
He was employed as a delivery person for Ashley Furniture Co. in San Antonio and was a member of the McArthur Park Church of Christ in San Antonio.
He was preceded in death by a grandfather, Preston Stephens.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, Mark and Shanna Stephens of Trinity; his mother and stepfather, Sandra and Waine Peterson of San Antonio; a brother, Tory Stephens; two sisters, Karen Stephens and Breeanne Graff; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Watson and Louella Stephens, all of Trinity; a number of aunts and uncles, Preston and Judy Stephens, Jerry and Jan Stephens, Richard and Wanda Stowe, Diane Delacerda, Christine Stephens and Sheila Dale; a number of cousins, Stephanie Dale and Rohn Benfield, Krissa and Kyle Stowe, Megan Stephens, Miranda Delacerda and Lindsey Stephens; and many other extended family members and friends.
Pallbearers included Richard Stowe, Jason Spenny, Rohn Benfield, Robert Diewinski, Tory Stephens and Kyle Stowe.
Mack C. Hurd

TRINITY – Services for Mack C. Hurd, 70, of Trinity were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2004, in the Cashner Colonial Chapel in Lufkin with the Rev. Leroy Brown, pastor of Dorcas Wills Memorial Baptist Church in Trinity, officiating.
Burial followed in Garden Park Cemetery.
Mr. Hurd died Saturday, June 26, in Trinity.
He was born May 29, 1934, in Hall County and owned the Arrow Plumbing Co. in Conroe for 21 years before retiring to Trinity. He was a member of the Joe Werner Masonic Lodge of Trinity.
Mr. Hurd was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Hazel Hurd, and a brother, Jimmy Hurd.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Joan Hurd; a daughter and her spouse, Debra and Robert Stoddard of Katy; a son, Dennis M. Hurd of Lufkin; a sister, Nedra Benfield of Amarillo; and two grandchildren, Jason Bland Stoddard and Lauren Meredith-Hurd Stoddard.
Pallbearers were Ed Webb, Guy Burkhart, Ralph Wright, Ronald Stocker, James Stewart, John Conner, Dale Chambers and Jack Wade.
Honorary pallbearers included the 2003 board members and staff of the Westwood Shores Municipal Utility District.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Hospice in the Pines, 116 S. Raquet, Lufkin, Texas 75904 and the Dorcas Wills Memorial Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 112, Trinity, Texas 75862.
Leon George Korenek

THE WOODLANDS – Services for Leon George Korenek, 86, of Trinity were held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 28, 2004, in the chapel of Forest Park Funeral Home in The Woodlands.
Committal services followed in the Forest Park The Woodlands Mausoleum.
Mr. Korenek died Wednesday, June 23.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Loraine Korenek; a son and his spouse, Gary and Elizabeth Korenek; a sister and her spouse, Gladys and Glen Winkler; two brothers and their spouses, Frank and Edith Korenek and John and Marlene Korenek; two sisters-in-law, Tommie and Florence Korenek; two granddaughters, Katrina and Kylen Korenek; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Glenda Rich Mitchell

TRINITY – Graveside services for Glenda Rich Mitchell, 65, of Trinity were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2004, in the Carlisle Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. D.R. McNaughton officiating.
Mrs. Mitchell died Monday, June 28, in Lufkin.
She was born Jan. 18, 1939, in Flow and was employed as a nurse in the health industry.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Duel Rich, William David Rich and Joe Ed Rich; and by three sisters, Eunice Hallmark, Marie McManners and Ima Skains.
Survivors include two sons and their spouses, Glenn and Louann Peterson of Trinity and Ronnie Leon and Karen Peterson of Lufkin; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Nancy and Ken Milsteae of Alabama and Nona Carver of Trinity; three grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob and Michelle; three great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Bill Barrett.

Lily May Spencer

LULING – Services for Lily May Spencer, 63, of Trinity were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2004, in the Central Baptist Church of Luling with the Rev. Leroy Brown officiating.
Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. June 30 in the Whitely Cemetery in Williamson County.
Mrs. Spencer died Sunday, June 27, in The Woodlands.
She was born May 2, 1941, in Georgetown, the daughter of Clebert and Rose Pate Bohanan. She was a homemaker and was a former member of the Central Baptist Church of Luling for over 25 years. She was a member of the Dorcas Wills Memorial Baptist Church of Trinity at the time of her death.
Mrs. Spencer was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Richard Bohanan.
Survivors include a daughter and her spouse, Pamela and Martin Frink of Trinity; a son and his spouse, Donald and Sally Spencer of Cuero; her mother, Rose Bohanan of Luling; four sisters, Shirley Wyndham of Lockhart, Alma Davis of Vidor, Sharon Eaton of Robert Lee and Karen Correa of La Porte; three brothers, Clebert Bohanan of Navasota, Douglas Bohanan of Hutto and Michael Bohanan of Luling; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers included Jerry Davis, Bill Stephens, Oscar Medoza, Brian Pierce, Barry Benbow and Fred Webber.
Honorary pallbearers included Warren Whitton, Richard Dierlam and Elmer Smith.

TRINITY – Services for Kirk Carden Sterling, 54, of Trinity were held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 25, 2004, at the River of Life Church in Trinity with the Rev. Mike Loftin officiating.
Mr. Sterling died Sunday, June 20, in Trinity.
He was born Dec. 5, 1949, in Warren, Ohio, and served in the U.S. Air Force. He retired from the City of Charlotte, N.C., where he was employed as a licensed electrician.
Mr. Sterling was a member of the Joe Werner Masonic Lodge of Trinity and attended the River of Life Church.
Survivors include two sons and their spouses, Gust and Robin Sterling of Virginia Beach, Va., and Trent and Tonya Sterling of Trinity; two daughters and a son-in-law, Dianna and Scott Boyce of Panama City, Fla., and Tiffany Sterling of Panama City, Fla.; and one grandson, Justin Boyce.

TRINITY -- Services for Bettye Christian Lenert, 73, of the Westwood Shores development near Trinity were held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 14, 2004, in the Zion Lutheran Church in Houston.
Burial followed in the Brookside Cemetery in Houston.
A Bible service also was held at 5 p.m. Sunday, June 13, in the Trinity Funeral Home in Trinity.
Mrs. Lenert died Friday, June 11, at the Conroe Regional Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 14, 1930, in Latexo and was employed as an office manager with the American Institute of Banking. She was active in the Westwood Shores Garden and Civic Club.
Survivors include her husband, Lester Lenert of Trinity; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Steve Kramer; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Donna Kramer; a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Winky Novak; two stepsons and their spouses, Clifford and Lynn and Troy and Sharon; three grandchildren, Kari Sams, Kelli Sams and Alexandra Kramer; step-grandchildren, Lance and Roni Lenert, Melissa Lenert and Taryn Lenert; and two step-great-grandchildren, Byron and Taylor Gill.

TRINITY -- Services for Maylon “Henry” Albert Lee Owens, 62, of Trinity were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2004, in the Lone Star Baptist Church with the Rev. Douglas Debose, pastor, officiating.
Burial followed in the City Cemetery in Trinity.
Mr. Owens died Sunday, June 13, in Trinity.
He was born Dec. 25, 1941, in Elkhart in Houston County. He was a self-employed plumber.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Owens of Trinity; two daughters, Sandra Womack of San Angelo and Sharon Greeno and her husband, Bernard Snell of Trinity, four grandchildren, Tracy Greeno and her husband, Jesse Gardner, of Huntsville, Holley Ellis of Trinity, La Tisha Womack of San Angelo and Cornelius Womack of Trinity; five great-grandchildren, Devin Mills, Donyae Simmons and Taydra Tyson, all of Huntsville, Niyah Weathersby of Trinity and James Owens of Houston; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.

TRINITY -- Services for John Donald Taylor, 73, of the Westwood Shores development near Trinity were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 13, 2004, in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel of the Chimes with Father Jim Morgan officiating.
Burial followed in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Trinity.
Mr. Taylor died Wednesday, June 9, in the Conroe Regional Medical Center.
He was born March 19, 1931, in Mexico and was retired from Baroid.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Taylor; children and their spouses, Susie and Wade Ehlew, George and Melva Taylor, John and Sherri Taylor, Kevin and Michelle Taylor, Suzanne Conover, Penny Lehman, Beth Murany, Lori Nonover, Karen Attia, Kim Steinke Coleman; one sister, Judith Murany; 24 grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
