HUNTSVILLE Memorial services for Juanice Drake, 63, of Trinity were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004, at Brooke Funeral Home (formerly Forest Lawn) in Huntsville.
Mrs. Drake died Thursday, Aug. 12, in Trinity.
She was born July 11, 1941, in Gilmer, the daughter of the late Clemon Alton Johnson and Jewel Magee Johnson. She was graduated from Mountain High School and attended Kilgore and San Jacinto colleges.
She was married to Russell Drake on Dec. 20, 1958, in White Oak.
Mrs. Drake was a former police officer with the Pasadena Police Department and was the owner and operator of Denim to Diamonds in Trinity. She was a member of the Dorcas Wills Memorial Baptist Church.
Mrs. Drake was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Maurita Moore.
Survivors include her husband; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Rusty Drake and Tom and Joanna Drake; a daughter and son-in-law, Deana and Mike Massey; and five grandchildren, Neal Henry, Cody Drake, Davis Drake, Alton Drake and Sarah Beveridge.

Otha Bruman Maines Jr.

TRINITY Services for Otha Bruman Maines Jr., 50, of Trinity were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004, at the Trinity Tabernacle Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Roger Goins officiating.
Graveside services followed at 3:30 p.m. at Fort Parker Memorial Park in Groesbeck.
Mr. Maines died Aug. 3 as the result of a traffic accident in Huntsville.
He was born Oct. 26, 1953, in Malvern, Ark., the son of Otha B. Maines Sr. and Emma Jean Marshall Maines. He was employed at United Steel Fabricators in Trinity and attended the Trinity Tabernacle Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his wife of 10 years, Peggy Maines; a son, Otha B. Opie Maines III; a daughter, Karen Rene Risler, who is expecting a baby daughter; a brother, Charlie Gene Mains; a sister-in-law and her spouse, Sue and Doug Bell; a grandson, Skylar Hayden Maines; a niece and her husband, Jean and Frank Watts; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Kenneth G. Barnett Sr.

HUNTSVILLE Kenneth G. Barnett Sr., 68, of Carlisle died Wednesday, Aug .l 4, 2004, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 28, 1936, in Carlisle, the son of William and Anna Barnett.
He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth G. Barnett and by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Mary Sue Barnett; a daughter, Donna S. Boyd; a son, William O. Barnett; a brother and his spouse, W.B. and Lorraine Barnett; five grandchildren and their spouses, Candy and D.W. McAdams, Brandi Williamson, Mandi Williamson, William O. Barnett Jr., Robert and Tasha Boyd II; and five great-grandchildren, Allen Ray McAdams, Austin Wayne McAdams, Christopher Harrel, Brandon Chandler and Kayla Boyd.

LIVINGSTON Services for Lonie Reba Thibodeau, 52, were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004, in the Friendship Harbor Church with the Rev. Reagan Duncan officiating.
Mrs. Thibodeau died Wednesday, Aug. 4 at her residence.
She was born Aug. 11, 1951, in Dora, Ala., the daughter of the late William and Margie (Higginbotham) Davis).
Survivors include her husband, James Thibodeau; a daughter and her spouse, Robbie and Christopher Tlougan of Winter Haven, Fla.; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Fay and Don Wars of Trinity, Bobbie and Rick Teal of Trinity and Cindy Beasley of Trinity; a granddaughter, Anna Elizabeth Tlougan of Winter Haven, Fla.; and a grandson, Donnie Rueben Tlougan of Winter Haven, Fla.
Pallbearers were Don Wars, Chris Tlougan, George Gallagher, Rick Teal, Derek Cotrone, Dale Goad and Randy Castleberry.
Cochran Funeral Home of Livingston directed the arrangements.

HUNTSVILLE Services for Thelma Lee Brooks, 75, of Trinity were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004, at the Bowen-Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church of Trinity with the Rev. Robert Thomas officiating.
Burial followed in the Trinity Community Cemetery.
She died Friday, July 30, in Harris County.
Mrs. Brooks was born April 11, 1929, in Trinity County.

Daniel Cooper

HOUSTON Visitation of the remains of Daniel Cooper, 46, of Houston were held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004, at the George H. Lewis and Sons Funeral Home in Houston.
Cremation followed at 10:45 a.m.
Mr. Cooper died from heart failure on Monday, Aug. 2.
He is survived by his wife and two children.
Joe Dean Osborn

TRINITY Services for Joe Dean Osborn, 63, of Groveton were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004, at the Glendale Baptist Church with the Rev. John Valenta officiating.
Burial followed in the Glendale Cemetery.
Mr. Osborn died quietly at the Groveton Nursing Home on Monday, Aug. 2.
He was born March 8, 1941, at his parents residence in the Glendale Community of Trinity County. He attended the Dallas Technical Institute and was employed for Circle Construction Co. in New Waverly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Birdie Rogers Osborn; two brothers, Carmen Osborn and John Osborn; and one grandson, Rowdy Monroe.
Survivors include a daughter and her spouse, Michelle and Jerry Parsley; a son, Gary Osborn; a brother and his spouse, Roger and Jan Osborn; two sisters and their spouses, Becky and Tony Pyle and Pat and Woodrow Coleman; three granddaughters, Megan, Caitlin and Kelsie; the mother of his children, Brenda Currie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert P. Staton

VERNON Masonic graveside services for Robert P. Staton, 88, of Vernon were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004, in the Elmwood Memorial Park in Abilene.
Mr. Staton died Tuesday, Aug. 3, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 7, 1915, in Electra, the son of the late L.D. and Belva A. Ross Staton. He was married to Mae Hudson on April 28, 1951, in Houston. She preceded him in death on Aug. 9, 2001.
Mr. Staton moved to Vernon in 2002 and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Abilene. He was a member of Sayles Masonic Lodge No. 1408 in Abilene.
Survivors include one stepdaughter, Carol Milner of Vernon; and two stepsons, Gene Ditmore of Abilene and Roy Ditmore of Altus, Okla.

Jack McClain

TRINITY Services for Jack McClain, 84, of Riverside were held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 26, 2004, in the Riverside Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Newton, pastor, officiating.
Burial followed in Tabor Cemetery in Leon County.
Mr. McClain died Friday, July 23, in the Avalon Place nursing center in Trinity.
He was born July 24, 1919, in Dover, Ark., and was employed as a peanut farmer and truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Curtis McClain; his children, Pame and her husband, Phillip, Share and Jeannie; a brother, Ben McClain; his grandchildren, Pame and her husband, Neph, Doug and his wife, Iren, Lynn and his wife, Kimber, Jake, Robbie and Jack and his wife, Kelly; several great-grandchildren.
Trinity Funeral Home directed the arrangements.
Sam Beeson Tullos

TRINITY Services for Sam Beeson Tullos, 79, of Glendale will were at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 22, 2004, in the First United Methodist Church of Trinity with the Rev. James L. White officiating.
Burial followed in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Trinity.
Mr. Tullos died Tuesday, July 20, at his Glendale residence.
He was born Dec. 15, 1924, in the Weldon community of Houston County and was a directional engineer.
Mr. Tullos was a member of the Trinity Volunteer Fire Department, the Joe Werner Masonic Lodge No. 553 of Trinity, the First United Methodist Church of Trinity and was a life member and chaplain with the Trinity County Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6899.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Ruth L. Tullos of Trinity; two sons and their spouses, Jerry and Candy Tullos and Stanley and Jody Tullos; a daughter and her spouse, Bridgitt and Buddy Martin; a sister, Margie Ginn; grandchildren and their spouses, Kimberly and Jon Wheeless, Michael and Stacye Tullos, Christopher and Leah Tullos, Johnathan Tullos and Joshua Tullos; one great-granddaughter, Brandi Jo Wheeless; and one great-grandson, Ethan Tullos.
Pallbearers included members of the Trinity Volunteer Fire Department, the Joe Werner Masonic Lodge and the VFW.
