John W. Scott, age 48, of San Antonio, died Monday, August 19, 2002 after a hard fought battle with cancer. He was a member of Cornerstone Church. J.W. was a 1978 graduate of Texas Tech University and was a member of Phi Gamma Delta (Fiji) Fraternity. He had been employed by Frost Bank as Senior Vice President in Corporate Support. John was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Neal Scott in 1990 and father, Wayne Scott in 1963. He is survived by wife, Olivia L. Scott; son, John “Jack” Scott; brother, James B. Scott; nephews, Austin and Travis; cousins and numerous friends.The Rev. B.A. Levine officiating. Honorary Pallbearers are Austin Scott, Travis Scott, Carlos Lopez and Joe Lopez. John composed his own eulogy and to quote him, “Life is a wonderful thing! I have had a life full of wonderful experiences and fun and very few regrets.”

Elise Harwell Hardy, born May 24, 1913 in Memphis, TN to Walter and Lena Harwell, passed away May 7, 2003 in San Antonio.
She graduated from Messick High School in 1932 and married
Dennis P. Henley, Jr. in Memphis in 1936, and they had 2 children. They moved to Dallas in 1967.
After Mr. Henley passed away in 1975, she moved to San Antonio where she met and later married
Rev. Reg Hardy.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dennis Henley; and her siblings, Earl Harwell, Mildred Harwell Jones and Ruth Harwell Gammill.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Fassnidge of San Antonio; son, Larry Henley and wife, Sherry of Battleground, WA; grandchildren, Heather Miller and husband, Richard, Hayley Fassnidge, Brett Henley and wife, Leanna, Brian, April, Shannon and Crystal Henley; 5 great grandsons, Grayson, Chase, Logan, Colman, and Barrett Miller.

He was born and raised on Honolulu, Hawaii, but lived for the last 15 years in Texas.

Barbara Narcissa Dibrell Paul (Polly), 82, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 4, 2003, in San Antonio, after an extended and lengthy illness.
She was born February 9, 1921 in Chillicothe, OH. Polly attended Catholic schools in San Antonio, graduating from St. Mary’s High School, and attended Incarnate Word College, majoring in nutrition.
She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Polly was preceded in death by her parents, Major John T. and Ellen Braden Dibrell; her brother, Col. Charles F. Dibrell, and her former husband, Col. V.G. Paul, Jr.
She is survived by her children, Helen E. (Gene) Piett of Tulsa, OK, Peter Q. Paul of Jacksonville, FL and Antoinette (Toni) McGuire of San Antonio; grandson, Sean P. McGuire and wife, Faith of Elizabeth City, NC; and several great grandchildren. Survived, also by her brother, John T. Dibrell and wife, Myrtie and daughter, Anna Gorchow.
The family wishes to thank the staff of IHS Medical Center Nursing Facility at San Antonio and the Hospice unit for all the kindnesses and special attention given to Mrs. Paul.

Cherry Blossom Call Blaylock, born March 18, 1922 in Waco, TX, went to be with our Lord Jesus on April 26, passing away peacefully in her sleep after a short battle with cancer.
She was preceded in death her father, Samuel; mother, Elizabeth; and brother, Charles Call, Sr., all of Waco, TX.
Mrs. Blaylock graduated from Waco High School in 1940, then married
Stan Blaylock on February 2, 1947. She remained in Texas raising her family with loving care.
She is survived her husband, Stanley; two sons, Mike and Steve; daughters-in-law, Ellice and Starla; five grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
Cherry will be remembered as a gentle and gracious lady who will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
