She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald C. Findley; and her sister, Wilma Huffstutter.
She is survived by her daughter, Theo Hogan; granddaughters, Emily and Terese Rusher; great grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, Chante and Denae; brother, Harold A. Tolbert of Denver, CO; sister, Charlotte Schaffer of Phoenix, AZ; numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary E. Smith passed away December 25, 2002 at the age of 84. Born in Fort Stockton, TX November 7, 1918. She was preceded in death by her husband Lt. Col. William S. Smith U.S. Army. Earlier in her life she was active in the S.A. Day Lilly Society and was a life member of First Christian Church in Ft. Stockton, TX. She is survived by a niece, Brenda Davison nephew Jim Davison Sullivan and several grand nieces and grand nephews.

He was an excellent card player, and loved golf and horse racing.

Clara Vogel, age 89, of San Antonio, died Tuesday, December 31, 2002. She was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church since 1945. A dedicated member of Vineta Lodge No. 15 Hermann Sons and a member of the St. Joseph’s Society. Two of her favorite pastimes were being involved with Hermann Sons and taking trips to the family ranch in Frio County visiting with neighbors. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ottmar Vogel in 1995. Survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Bernice Vogel; granddaughters, Beverly Maze and her husband, Danny, Sandy Moeller and her husband, Alton (Bubba); great grandchildren, Ashley and Brett Maze and Matthew and Gregory Moeller. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Regent Care, North Central Baptist, and Vitas Hospice for the fine care and support extended to Clara and her family.

Bernard Aaron, age 91, passed away on December 28, 2002 at his home in Boca Raton, FL. He served his country in Europe during WWII. He was a retired piping designer and was an artist and actor in his retirement. He is survived by his wife Anne; son, Michael and his wife, Anna of Beeville, TX; son, Elliott and his wife, Jeana of Dade City, FL; and his sister Thelma Perlman of Montreal, Canada. He has four grandchildren: Michael, Ross, Kristina and Jacob Aaron.
Allison 'Al' Eugene Lowe

Allison “Al” Eugene Lowe was born on January 21, 1911 in Olathe, Kansas.
He graduated from Park College in 1932.
He was a Veteran of World War II (1942-1945) with the Fifth Armored Division.
He married
Louise Clifton Faddis on December 13, 1947. She preceded him in death on June 2, 1998.
Al worked for Frigidaire Corp. and taught school in Kansas City, MO until 1976. He also worked for the Kansas City A’s, Royals, and Chiefs from 1964 until 1990.
He was active in numismatic circles in the Kansas City area. He lived in the Kansas City area until moving to San Antonio in May of 1998.
He leaves his daughter, Michele Lowe Doubleday and her husband, Stephen J. Doubleday; and three grandchildren, Allison Doubleday Cloud of Overland Park, KS, Adam Taylor Doubleday, and Ashley Elizabeth Doubleday of San Antonio.

Elva Lee Dawkins Blum age 70 died Thursday, January 2, 2003. She was born near Raleigh, NC on May 12, 1932. She was the daughter of Samuel W. Dawkins and Mary Kathleen Dawkins. Her parents as well as her sisters, Dorothy Moran and Kathleen Dawkins preceded her in death . She attended school in Morven NC, graduating in 1950 and attended Kings Business College in Charlotte, NC. She met and married
her husband Carl L. Blum in 1952 while he was in the Marine Corps moving around many times during his Marine Corps career. She held many jobs during those years, bookkeeping, accounting, etc. Her last employer being H.E.B. Grocery Co., leaving in 1985 for health reasons. Mrs. Blum is survived by her husband Carl L. Blum; two daughters, Linda L. Flores and spouse, Ernest F. Flores and Debora A. Allaire; three grandsons, Edmond A. Allaire III, Curtis C. Allaire, and Justin T. Flores; one granddaughter, Amber L. Flores; two sisters Barbara A. Short of Morven NC; Harriett Wheeler of South Port, NC; one brother Samuel W. Dawkins Jr. of Morven NC and many nieces and nephews.

Josephine “Jo” Ruff, age 77, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2002 in San Antonio, TX.
Jo, born July 27, 1925 near Stanford, Kentucky, is known for many acts of caring kindness over a wide portion of our country.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her son, Andrew Ruff.
She is survived by her husband, George Ruff; daughters, Mardi A.R. Stasney of Los Angeles, CA and Kirstin Ruff of San Francisco, CA.

God brought Raymond Edwin Laube to his eternal home on December 23, 2002 at the age of 78. Ray is survived by his wife of 48 years, Martha Marlow Laube; his daughter Kimberley Wolf, her husband Mark and children Margi and Elissa; his daughter Kathy Fleming, her husband Scott and children Christopher and Casey. Ray retired after 36 years of service with WOAI/KMOL Television, and was a member of the church family at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church for 49 years.

Our loving father, son, brother and uncle, Eduardo Javier Rodriguez, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family and friends on Sunday, December 15, 2002, at the age of 53. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and was employed by Walgreen’s in Management capacity for over 20 years. He was a graduate of Texas A & I University in 1979 with a Bachelor of Business degree. His family and friends loved him dearly and he will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his father, Jesus M. Rodriguez. He is survived by his daughters, Stacy D. Rodriguez and Yvette D. Rodriguez; son, Eduardo J. Rodriguez, Jr.; mother of his children, Lucinda M. Rodriguez; mother, Hortencia B. Rodriguez; brother, J. Raul Rodriguez and wife, Rosalie; numerous nieces and nephews.
