Gerard Francis McCormick, known to friends and family as Jerry, born November 8, 1939, an Irish Catholic in Brooklyn, New York, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 8, 2002 in San Antonio, Texas. He was a loving father who served his country proudly and honorably in the United States Marine Corps. He served his community at Southwestern Bell as a Construction Foreman and further touched lives as a Northside Independent School District bus driver. He was a devoted member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, where he selflessly gave of his time, transporting all who needed a ride to worship. Mr. McCormick was also a stellar member of the Knights of Columbus, serving 30 years. To those he loved and those who loved him, he was an inspiration and mentor for all those he touched and will be greatly missed. He was loyal and loving in nature with a punctual wit and he will always be remembered and thought of often. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Carolyn McCormick; his children, Gerard Francis McCormick, Jr., Timothy McCormick, Kenneth Ullmann, Brenda McCormick, Dennis McCormick, Eric Ullmann, Ellen Haralson and their spouses and families, including seven grandchildren and two sisters.

Dorothy Elizabeth Stanush passed away to the hands of the Lord on October 9, 2002 at the age of 87. Mrs. Stanush received her degree in Business economics from the University of Texas when most women did not have the opportunity to go to college in that era. After college Mrs. Stanush taught school, and then married
Frank Stanush becoming the most loving wife and mother to their 3 children. Some of her biggest enjoyments in life included the art world and keeping in touch with nature at the family ranch. She is survived by her husband Frank A. Stanush; son, Pat and wife Belinda Stanush; daughters, Carol and husband Carl Gagliardi and Susan E. Stanush; granddaughter, Ashley and husband, Brad Jackson; grandsons, Chris Gagliardi and Chad Gagliardi. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:30 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Porter Loring.

Irene Helen Zimmermann Wright was born the 2nd day of April, 1915, in San Antonio, Texas, and died the 14th day of October, 2002, in San Antonio, Texas. She was a descendant of a Texas pioneer family which came with Henri Castro from Alsace Lorraine, France, to settle Castroville, Texas in 1842. Irene was the second eldest of eleven children born to Edmund Zimmermann and Leonora Elizabeth Rihn Zimmermann. She was educated at Sacred Heart Grammar School and graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1932. She was a longtime parishioner of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Upon the death of her husband, Nile William Wright, Sr., in 1971, a founder of PECO, INC., she took over his position in the company as President and Chairman of the Board and continued to work there until her retirement in the year 2000 at the age of 85. She was also preceded in death by her great-granddaughter Kylie Nicole Wright, as well as her brothers William and Joseph Zimmermann in their infancy, Howard Zimmermann and his wife Doris, and Leon Zimmermann, and brother-in-law James Jory. A loving and devoted mother, she is survived by her sons Nile William Wright, Jr. and his wife Yolanda, Thomas Edmund Wright and his wife Jane, and George Howard Wright and his wife Susan, all of San Antonio; daughter Cheryl Ann Wright Longoria and her husband Ricardo, of Nuevo Laredo, Mexico; grandchildren Deborah Wright Kempf, Nile William Wright III, Rebecca Wright Kottler, Jennifer Wright Goode, Nile William Wright IV, Courtney Elizabeth Wright, Thomas Edmund Wright, Jr., William Gordon Wright, Suzanne Wright Torres, Gregory William Wright, Kristen Leigh Wright, Ricardo Elliott Longoria, Jr., Carlos Federico Longoria, and Cassandra Nile Longoria. She has six remaining brothers and sisters, Raymond Arthur Zimmermann and his wife Lila, James Dennis Zimmermann and his wife Nina, Owen Harold Zimmermann and his wife Annette, Myrtle Zimmermann Jory, Doris Zimmermann Barr and her husband Edward, all of San Antonio, Vivian Zimmermann Duffin and her husband Gail of Austin, TX, sister-in-law Lenora Zimmermann of Floresville, TX, and ten great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be her grandsons,

Maria Louisa Whipple passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2002. Maria, or “Skye” as she was affectionately known by many of her friends, was born on October 8, 1947 in San Antonio, Texas. She attended Alamo Heights schools and graduated from San Marcos Baptist Academy. She was a licensed vocational nurse, and a resident of Seguin for the past 15 years. She loved this time of the year, the Fall, when she could enjoy her beloved “Cowboys, ” watching the game, most likely, at the house of a close friend, Joanie Alexander, with Joanie and her family. Maria’s father, Lester Whipple, died in 1974. Maria is survived by her mother, Louise Whipple Arnold; her sister, Sandy East and her husband, Myron East; nephews, Bradley and Linden East; and niece, Kelsey East.
