Laura Louise Mooneyham
Laura Louise Mooneyham was born Nov. 30, 1940, to Leonard and Leola Cole Shortnacy in Dallas. She passed away in Dallas on May 24, 2002.
Laura was raised in Lancaster and moved to Kaufman in 1971. Laura married
Auddie Mooneyham in Lancaster on June 10, 1960. She managed the Shoe Market and the Shoe Bag in Kaufman. Laura worked for the Kaufman Independent School District’s Day Care. In 1992 she opened her own day care in Kaufman. Laura was a member of the Post Oak Bend Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Auddie Mooneyham of Kaufman; son, Danny Lynn Mooneyham of Kaufman; daughter, Lisa Renee’ Holditch of Kaufman; brother, David Leon Shortnacy of Kaufman; sisters, Ruby Arnold of Lancaster, Maye Hanson of Lancaster, Mary Ruth Cluck of Kaufman, and Linda Hickman of Tyler; grandchildren, Jennifer and Hanna Mooneyham and Cody Holditch.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at 10 a.m. at the Parker-Ashworth Chapel with Rev. Garris Baggett officiating. Interment followed in Wilson Chapel cemetery. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home of Kaufman.
Andrew “Dub” Anderson
Andrew “Dub” Anderson, of Terrell, passed away on June 29, 2002, at his residence. He was born on April 16, 1920, to the late Albert Andrew and Bessie Lawfton Anderson in Kaufman County. Dub was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Anderson of Terrell; son, Ronnie Anderson and his wife Glenda of Commerce; grandsons, Rodney Lynn Anderson and Joshua Cain Anderson both of Houston.
Graveside services were held July 2, 2002, at Kaufman cemetery. The family received friends on Monday, July 1, at Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Home in Terrell.
Emil Joe Reznicek
Emil Joe Reznicek, age 74, of Kaufman passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2002, at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas following a lengthy illness.
Services for Mr. Reznicek were held 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2002, at the Kaufman cemetery with Rev. D.G. Council officiating. Interment followed.
Mr. Reznicek was born June 23, 1928, in the Lone Star Community of Kaufman to the late Joe and Lucy Pekar Reznicek. He was a member of the St. Ann Catholic Church in Kaufman. Mr. Reznicek served in the 36th Infantry Division of the Texas National Guard. He worked for Terrell State Hospital for 21 years as a warehouse supervisor and worked on his own farm following retirement. He married
Evelyn Stastny in 1975 and remained happily married
for 27 years.
Mr. Reznicek is survived by his wife Evelyn Stastny Reznicek of Kaufman; son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Victoria Martin Stastny of Kaufman; daughter and son-in-law, Joyce Stastny and Jimmy Pool of Kaufman; sister, Adell Reznicek Holick of Terrell; brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Rosie Reznicek of Kaufman; grandsons and granddaughters-in-law, Jason and Aimee Morales Stastny of Kaufman, and James and Kacy Ochs Stastny of Kaufman; grandson, Brian Pool of Kaufman; granddaughter, Ali Martin of Kaufman; grandson, Beau Martin of Kaufman; nephews, Rudy Holick of Terrell, Randy Reznicek of Kaufman, and Jodie Reznicek of Mabank; 3 great grandchildren all of Kaufman.
Visitation for family and friends was held Monday, July 1, 2002, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Home in Kaufman, Texas.
Ramiro Perez
Ramiro Perez was born in Mexico on Oct. 20, 1920, to Cresencio and Petra Moya Perez. Ramiro passed away at his home on July 2, 2002. He was raised in Mexico and moved to Kaufman in 1965. He married
Rosario Espinoza in 1957.
Ramiro is survived by his wife, Rosario Perez of Kaufman; sons, Ramiro Perez Jr. of Indiana Hector Perez of Pennsylvania, Salvador Perez of Kaufman, Sergio Perez of Kaufman, and Armondo Perez of Kaufman; daughters, Magda Botts of Indiana, Sylvia Vasquez of Ferris, and Emma Marquez of Mexico; brother, Gonzalito Perez of Mexico; 22 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many other relatives.
Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church on July 4, 2002. Funeral mass was held Friday, July 5, 2002, at 10 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph H. Mehan Jr. officiating. Interment followed in Kaufman cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home of Kaufman.
Fannie Lee Jones
Fannie Lee Jones was born Aug. 30, 1906, in Grand Saline. She went to be with the Lord on July 6, 2002, in Rowlett.
She is survived by her children Julian W. Ford and wife Blanche of Desert Hot Springs, Calif., Elizabeth Ann Alexander and husband Bill of Wylie, Herbert Allen Jones and wife Teena of West Monroe, La., Charlotte Ray Bristow and husband Jim of Rockwall; sister, Grace Ashcraft of Opelousas, La.; 8 grandchildren, Mark Ford, Johnny Ford, Edward Jones, Joann Buis, Tammy Hrab, Tim Jones, Nancy El-horr and Jay Bristow; 17 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Jones; daughter, Mamie Lee Jones; granddaughter, Johnnie Marie Ford Sperling; and her parents, William and Edith Fuller.
Services were held Tuesday, July 9, 2002, at 2 p.m. in the Roselawn Funeral Chapel. Interment followed at Crandall cemetery. Brother Thomas Maynard of First Baptist Church Wylie conducted the service. Visitation was held on July 8 at the Roselawn Funeral Home.
Sue Easley
Sue Easley, of Kaufman, passed away at her home on July 1, 2002. She was born Oct. 10, 1939, to Willie and Lillie Long in Farmersville. Sue was raised in Dallas and lived most her life in Kaufman County. She worked for Tom Thumb Foods since 1961.
On July 13, 1957, Sue married
Ray Easley in Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by son, William Michael Easley, and daughter, Debra Easley.
Sue is survived by her husband, Ray Easley of Kaufman; son, Jeffery Easley of Kaufman; brothers, Roye Long of Waco and Wayne Hooper of Dallas; sisters, Barbara Perotti of Wills Point, Lora Jane Woodall of Kaufman, and Cathey Johnson of Mesquite; grandchildren, Jeff Easley Jr., Susan Easley and Wendy Easley; aunt, Faye White of Lindale.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 3, 2002, at the Parker-Ashworth Chapel with Reverend Ray H. Singleton officiating. Interment was in King cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home of Kaufman.
Olen L. Bailey
Funeral services for Olen L. Bailey of Kaufman were held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11, in the Anderson Clayton Bros. Chapel with Mr. Paul Hilliard officiating. Interment followed in Restland Memorial Park under the direction of Anderson Clayton Bros. of Kaufman.
Mr. Bailey was born Dec. 21, 1927 in Scurry to the late Lonnie Tolman and Lucy Lavada (Blackman) Bailey and went home to be with Jesus Oct. 8, 2002, in Kaufman. He was the eldest of four children and accepted Christ as his savior at the age of 15.
He graduated from Pleasant Grove High School before joining the Navy in 1945. He served the Navy from 1945 to 1947 during World War II. After his military duty he returned to Pleasant Grove and married
Dorris Laverne Hoffman before moving to Jefferson, Texas, in 1982 where he was a member of Jefferson Church of Christ until 2001 when he moved to Kaufman to be with family.
Survivors include his sons, Larry Bailey of Mesquite and Tony Bailey of Kaufman; daughter-in-law, Juanita Bailey of Lemoore, Calif.; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; brother, Kenneth Bailey of Kaufman; and sister, Vivian Houston of Kemp; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mamie Corder
Funeral services for Mamie Corder, age 92, of Seagoville were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, 2002, at Scurry Church of Christ with Brother Ken Maddox and Dr. William Kenzie officiating. Interment followed at Mt. Olive cemetery in Scurry.
Mrs. Corder was born July 4, 1910, in Peede, now know as Gray’s Prairie, Texas, to Robert C. and Eddie Webb Saulters. She passed away Oct. 11, 2002, in Seagoville after a long illness.
As a child she lived in Waco and moved back to Gray’s Prairie after her marriage to John Corder on Nov. 19, 1927. Mamie was a member of Gray’s Prairie Church of Christ. She is preceded in death by her husband; 2 grandsons; 1 great grandson; and 3 sisters.
She is survived by sons, James Corder of Mesquite, Robert Corder and his wife Phyllis of Rosser and Alvin Corder and his wife Judy of Rosser; daughters, Gladys Milam of Gun Barrel City, Edith Bishop of Scurry and Shannon Welch and husband Rickey of Seagoville; brother, J.W. Saulters of Waco; sister, Vivian New of Clifton; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Shannon Corder, Doug Shewmaker, Shawn Corder, Casey Harp, Jack Bishop, Richard Payne, Brady Bishop and David Carter.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home in Canton.
Andy Joe Davis
Andy Joe Davis of Kaufman, was born in Dallas on Sept. 27, 1935, to Clayton and Evelyn Barnes Davis. He passed away suddenly on Oct. 11, 2002. Andy grew up in Dallas and moved to Kaufman in 1968. He was in law enforcement for 30 years, serving as a Kaufman County Deputy Sheriff until his retirement in 2000. Andy was currently employed at Indian Oaks Golf Course working and playing the game he loved. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Kaufman. He is survived by his loving wife Peggy, of 26 years; daughters and son-in-laws, Cindy and Mike Wilson, Sandra and Richard Underwood, Lisa and Ronnie McMahan; son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Lesa Davis; grandchildren, Michael, Ursula and Deena Wilson, Kristie and Steven Underwood, Christopher Davis, Chantry and Conner McMahan, all of Kaufman; sister, Ollie Jordan of Royse City; father and mother-in-law, Wayland and Flick Clearman; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard and Lerna Clearman of Warsaw.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 14, 2002, at Cottage Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Kearns officiating. Interment followed at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home of Kaufman.
Viola Clark Hart
Viola Clark Hart celebrated life from 1909 until Oct. 4, 2002. She was born in Kaufman County to Frank and Bettie Clark. Mr. Clark was a building contractor in Kaufman.
Viola was the third daughter in a family of seven daughters and two sons. She is survived by her daughter, Betty June Ahee of Dallas; granddaughter, Lisa Conwell of Dallas; grandson, Donald Ahee of Tucson; 2 great-grandsons; brother, Clement Bryan Clark of Arlington; sisters, Patsy Clark Rice of Kaufman and Joanne Clark Lake of Crockett; and a large number of loving nieces and nephews.
Viola graduated from Kaufman High School and pursued a nursing career at Parkland Hospital in Dallas. After Pearl Harbor, she took classes at SMU to learn to read blue prints and became an inspector at North American Aircraft. Viola will be remembered for her music and for her humor, her interest in our family history and her great generosity.
