Stacie Dianne Goff
Stacie Dianne Goff was born Jan. 4, 1976, in Kaufman and passed away June 7 in Dallas.
She is survived by her husband, James Nicholas Goff II and one son, James Nicholas Goff III, both of Ruston, La.
She is also survived by mother and step-father Karen and Ronnie Harper, father and step-mother Don and Louise Boyd; paternal grandparents Celia Boyd, Betty and Deryl Barnes; maternal grandparents Addie Stevens; two brothers: Ryan Harper and Kevin Thomas; one sister, Stefanie Parks; mother- and father-in-law A. Kennon Goff III and Stephanie Goff.
Stacie is also survived by a number of other loving family members and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Roselawn Chapel in Seagoville. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. in Ruston, La.
Mildred Joyce Schreck
Mildred Joyce Schreck was born March 5, 1938, to George and Fannie Roland Webster in Lydia, Texas. Mildred passed away at her home in Kaufman County on June 3, 2003.
Mildred was raised in Ladonia, Texas, and later moved to Dallas. She lived a short time in California and then moved back to Dallas. Mildred lived in Kansas City for nine years and later moved to Kaufman in 1996.
She was a member of the Rockwall Church of Christ. On Oct. 25, 1960, Mildred married
Arthur L. Schreck in Dallas.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur Schreck, of Kaufman; sons: Billy Eacret of Mesquite, Ronny Eacret of Mesquite, Donny Eacret of Garland and Chris Schreck of Kaufman; daughters: Marilynn Solis of Mesquite and Pam Schreck-Losawyer of Kaufman; sister: Virginia Copeland of DeKalb; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 6, 2003, at Parker-Ashworth Chapel with Rev. Mickey Loftis officiating. Interment followed in Roselawn cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home of Kaufman.
Sam Tidwell
Sam Tidwell was born June 17, 1931, in Kaufman to the late Samuel and Katherine Tidwell and passed away June 3, 2003, in Terrell.
Tidwell was a member of First Baptist Church of Kaufman. He graduated from Kemp High School and Texas A&M; and was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean Conflict. His son, Michael Tidwell; brothers Buck, Jim, Rip, Vernon, Weldon, and Forrest; and sisters Louise and Nannie Bell preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Nell Tidwell, of Kaufman; daughter Becky Cochran and her husband, Bubba, of Kaufman; grandchildren Judd Cochran and his wife, Jennifer, of San Antonio, and Calie England and her husband, Matthew, of Kaufman; sisters Ollie Cates of Kaufman, Helen Greer of Mesquite, and Ruby Greer of Los Fresnos, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Tidwell were held June 5, 2003, in the Kaufman cemetery with Rev. Steve Bezner officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Anderson Clayton Bros. of Kaufman.
Gladys V. Williams Baker
Funeral services for Gladys V. Williams Baker of Scurry were held 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24, 2003, in the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Scurry with Rev. Nolan Ritchie and Rev. Joe Rosenquist officiating. Interment followed at 2 p.m. at the Starr cemetery in Van Zandt County under the direction of Anderson Clayton Bros. of Kaufman.
Mrs. Baker was born April 3, 1916, in Grand Saline, Texas, to the late George W. and Verda Mae (Davlin) Williams and passed away Feb. 20, 2003, in Kaufman. She was a member of the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church of Scurry. She was a homemaker for most of her life, but did work briefly in the shipyards as a welder during World War II and at Terrell State Hospital.
Survivors include her husband, J.D. Baker of Scurry; son Jerry Dale Baker of Scurry; brother Kenneth Dale Williams of Grand Saline; sisters Verda Lee Harvey of Decatur, Julia Joyner of Boise, Idaho, and Mary Westmoreland of Grand Saline; and by her surrogate grandchildren, Kevin Phelps of California, Phillip Phelps of Florida, Jesse Woodriff of Wichita Falls, and Jason Woodriff.
Betty J. Blackmon
Betty J. Blackmon of Kaufman passed away Feb. 19, 2003, at her home. Betty was born in Kaufman on June 16, 1934, to Julian and Nora Gatlin High.
Betty was raised in Kaufman County and lived all of her life there. She married
Chuck Blackmon in the Blackjack community on March 15, 1954. Betty was preceded in death by two sons Glen and Michael Blackmon.
She is survived by her husband, Chuck Blackmon of Kaufman; son Tommy Blackmon of Kaufman; mother Nora High of Kaufman; brother Ricky High of Kaufman; and sister Aubrey Blackmon of Mansfield.
Graveside services were held Friday, Feb. 21, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Radar cemetery with Rev. James M. Smith officiating. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home of Kaufman.
Feeolden Burkes
Feeolden Burkes was born June 28, 1917, in Scurry, Texas, to Felix and Ora Larry Burkes. Feeolden passed away in Sherman, Texas, on Feb. 20, 2003. Feeolden grew up in Scurry and lived most of his life in Scurry and Rosser.
Feeolden is survived by his sons, Larry Burkes of Longview, Billy Burkes of Waxahachie and John Burkes of Rosser; daughter Mary Burkes of Nevada; sister Nellie Mayes of Fort Worth; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
Graveside services were held Saturday Feb. 22, 2003, at Mount Olive cemetery in Scurry with Rev. Todd Peavy officiating. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home of Kaufman.
Thomas Ray Hamilton
Funeral services were held for Thomas Ray Hamilton, 45, of Kemp on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003, at Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Rosenquist officiating. Interment followed at Mount Olive cemetery in Scurry.
He was born Nov. 27, 1957, in Kaufman and died Feb. 16, 2003, at his home near Kemp. He married
Vickie Fortner. His father, Ed Hamilton, and a brother, Tony Cox, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife Vickie Hamilton, Kemp; son Jonathan Hamilton of Kemp; daughter Jennifer Raean Hamilton of Kemp and her fiance, Bryan Kirby, of Wills Point; granddaughter Libby Hamilton of Kemp; mother Ella Marie (Tucker) Hamilton of Kemp and father Roy Cox of Houston.
Also surviving are brothers Clint Hamilton of Tool, Eugene Hamilton and Dewayne Hamilton, both of Kemp; sisters Terry Ferguson and husband Tom of Spring and Tina Ethridge and husband Tom of Lawrenceville, Ga.; his special girls, Tonya Teague and Tabitha Williams; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers were Matt Teague, Carol Corker, Jeff Ingram, Shawn Ingram, Monty Freeman and David Jones. Nephews and great nephews served as Honorary Pallbearers.

Funeral services for Jessica Lynn Sprague, 21, of Wills Point were held Monday, Feb. 24, 2003, at Alan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Rev. Billy Smith and Rev. Ira Waddell officiating. Burial followed at Woodall cemetery north of Wills Point under direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.
Jessica passed away Friday afternoon, Feb. 21, 2003, at her residence.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Harold Mac Sprague; great-grandfather Oscar Hay; uncle Rusty Ashby; and great-grandfather Rufus Nalls.

Buddy Lee Stroud
Buddy Lee Stroud of Kaufman passed away Feb. 18, 2003, in Kaufman. Buddy was born in Dallas on Nov. 17, 1925, to Gregory Maxwell Lievsay and Edith Mae Stewart.
Buddy was raised in Dallas and Kaufman. He entered the U.S. Navy during World War II and moved back to Dallas after the service. On June 19, 1948, Buddy married
Cassie Ward in Kaufman. In 1989 Buddy moved back to Kaufman. He retired in 1987 from Paragon Industry in Mesquite after 35 years.
Buddy is survived by his wife Cassie Stroud of Kaufman; brother Kyle Stroud of Gun Barrel City; sister Lola Roland of Granbury; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, at 2 p.m. at the Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Lamb officiating. Interment followed in Wilson Chapel cemetery. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home of Kaufman.
Aline Lewis Hamner
Aline Lewis Hamner of Kaufman, Texas, died at 9:10 on Wednesday, April 23, 2003, in Louisville, Ky. She was the mother of the late Craig Lewis Moore of Houston, Texas, and the wife of the late Arthur Henry Hamner of Kaufman, Texas.
Hamner was born in Menard, Texas, on June 22, 1922, and lived a great part of her life there until she was married
to Mr. Hamner. She graduated from Menard schools and attended Texas Christian University and The University of Texas. She was an interior decorator in San Angelo for several years.
Hamner was a descendant of pioneer Texas families. Her parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. William M. Lewis; her grandparents were the late Mr. and Mrs. John R. Smart and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Winslow Lewis, all of Menard, Texas.
She was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church where she grew up. She was also a member of National Society Magna Charta Dames, The Sovereign Colonial Society Americans of Colonial Descent, The Colonial Order of the Crown and the Plautagent Society.
Survivors include a granddaughter, Kerry Nicole Moore of Houston, Texas; sister Mrs. E. Logan Brown (Mona Lewis Brown) of Shelbyville and Louisville, Ky.; nephews E. Logan Brown Jr. of Houston, Texas, and William Lewis Brown of Shelbyville and Louisville, Ky.; stepdaughter Mrs. David Samuelson (Mary Jane Samuelson); stepgranddaughter Anne Ellen Samuelson of Houston, Texas; stepson Arthur Hamner and stepgrandson Lee Hamner, both of Sulphur Springs, Texas.
Interment will be in the Lewis Family plot at Pioneer Rest cemetery in Menard, Texas, at 1:30 p.m. May 17, 2003.

Jewell Alma Burton
Funeral services for Jewell Alma Burton were held 2 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2003, in the Anderson Clayton Bros. Chapel with Mr. Mike Kellett officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Anderson Clayton Bros. of Kaufman.
Mrs. Burton was born Jan. 13, 1916, to the late Herbert J. and Pearl Alma (Ayres) Glass and passed away May 9, 2003, in Carrollton. She was a graduate of Scurry High School and East Texas State Teachers College. She was an elementary school teacher and taught in the Dallas school system for 24 years. She was a founding member of the Hawn Freeway Church of Christ and was preceded in death by her husband, Hellums Pat Burton, in 2001 and son Henry Thomas Burton in 1985.
Survivors include her son, Pat Burton and his wife Shirley, of Carrollton; daughter Mollie Carlin and her husband, Thomas, of Southern Pine, N.C.; grandchildren Maureen Carlin, Amy McLuckie, Zane Burton, Tami Burton and Lauri Burton; and one great grandchild, Emma McLuckie.
Family received friends Sunday, May 11, 2003, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
LaNelle Toney
LaNelle Toney was born in Dallas on Sept. 19, 1929, to Tommie and Ida Mae Mixon Green. She passed away in a Dallas hospital on Aug. 23, 2003.
LaNelle was raised in Dallas and moved to Kaufman in 1956. On July 15, 1947, she married
Felix Randolph Toney in Dallas.
LaNelle was a member of the Eastern Star and the Nazarene Church and a past member of the Kaufman Garden Club and Study Club. LaNelle was also the co-founder of the Cedar Creek Golf Association. She attended the First Baptist Church in Kaufman.
LaNelle was preceded in death by her brother, Elry Francis Green. LaNelle is survived by her husband, Randy Toney, of Kaufman; son Jim Toney and his wife, Raema, of Kaufman; brother Ron Renne’ Green of San Antonio; grandchildren Stephen Toney and Michael Toney.
Funeral services were held Aug. 25, 2003, at Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home with Rev. Brent Gentzel officiating and interment followed in Wilson Chapel cemetery.

James Carl Ruff
James Carl Ruff was born in Arcadia, Texas, on June 8, 1937, to Joe and Ruby Etheredge Ruff. Carl passed away in a Dallas hospital on Aug. 23, 2003.
Carl was raised in Kaufman and lived most of his life in Kemp and Kaufman. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kaufman

Carol Ann Wallace in Kaufman.
Carl was preceded in death by his brother Jerry Joe Ruff. He is survived by his wife, Carol Ann Ruff, of Kaufman; son Todd Ruff and his wife, Karla, of Kaufman; daughter Leslie McGlamery and her husband, Chris, of Kaufman; sister Jolene Haney of Florida; mother and father-in-law Carroll and Janet Wallace of Kaufman; grandchildren Kaylee Ruff, Carter Ruff, Macy McGlamery and Parker McGlamery.
Funeral services were held Aug. 26, 2003, at the Parker-Ashworth Chapel with Bro. Robert Winter officiating. Interment followed in Kaufman cemetery. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home of Kaufman.
Antonio Roddy Mora
Funeral services for Antonio Roddy Mora, age 87, of Henderson, Texas, were held at Crawford-Crim-Bryan Chapel on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Morris Wall officiating.
Family received friends noon-2 p.m. Aug. 27 at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Lakewood Memorial Park under the direction of Crawford-Crim-Bryan Funeral Home in Henderson.
Mr. Mora was born Aug. 10, 1916, in Chicago, Ill. He died on Aug. 25, 2003, in Carthage, Texas.
Mora was an active member of First Baptist Church of Kaufman, served as department secretary and was a member of the choir. Mora owned Mora Meal and Milling Co. in Bossier City, La., and Kaufman Warehousing Co. He served two terms as mayor of Kaufman and was a 32nd degree Master Mason. Mora was also on the advisory board of Southwest Seminary for a number of years.
He is preceded in death by mother Edith Roddy Graves, brother Tom Collins and sister Dorothy Graves.
Survivors include his wife, Elsie Mora, of Henderson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Nephews and great nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Billijo Spencer High
Billijo Spencer High was born in Kaufman on Aug. 22, 1922, to Thomas and Mabel Mangham Spencer. Billijo passed away in a Terrell hospital on Aug. 24, 2003.
She was raised and lived most of her life in Kaufman where she was a beautician. Billijo was a member of the Eastern Star and the First United Methodist Church of Kaufman.
She is survived by her daughters, Charlotte Bobbitt, Mina Lisa Ables and Judy Yates; brother Woodrow Stanley; grandchildren Joanna Davis, Bradley Yates and Michael Bobbitt; great-grandchildren Felicia Davis and Spencer Davis.
Memorial services were held Aug. 26, 2003, at the First United Methodist Church in Kaufman. The family requests memorials be made to the Scottish Rite Childrens Hospital in Dallas.
Memorial arrangements were under the direction of Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home of Kaufman.
