Billy Clyde Terry
BORGER - Billy Clyde Terry, 71, died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007.
Services were held at the Keeler Baptist Church with Dr. Paul Anderson, pastor, and the Rev. Scott Maze, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Clyde Terry was born Feb. 28, 1935, in Borger and had lived there all his life. He married
Betty Pullen on Aug. 9, 1953, in Calvary Baptist Church in Borger. He was co-owner of Clyde and Scottys Gulf Station for 33 years. He was a deacon and volunteer song leader at Keeler Baptist Church. Clyde also delivered Meals on Wheels.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hank Terry; and a brother, Scotty Terry.
Survivors include his wife Betty; three sons, Bill Don Terry and wife Kim of Borger, John Terry and the late Sharon Terry of Dallas and Mark Terry and wife Sonya of Kingwood; and four grandchildren, Lance, Lana, David and Elizabeth.
Josephine "Josey" Watson
Josephine "Josey" Watson, 67, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007, in Pampa.
Services were held at the Victory Baptist Church with J.D. Young, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Stinnett cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors of Borger.
Mrs. Watson was born Jan. 14, 1940, in Tahlequah, Okla., to John and Bessie Rogers Phillips. She was a member of the American Legion and the Cherokee Nation.
Survivors include her husband, Joe Watson; three sons, Joe Watson Jr. of Stinnett, Tommy Watson of Louisiana and Jamie Watson of Borger; two brothers, Joe Phillips of Festus, Mo., and George Phillips of Fritch; a sister, Betty Brewer of Peggs, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
RICHARD GOODWIN
STINNETT - Richard Goodwin, 81, died Tuesday, March 13, 2007, in Amarillo.
Services were at 11 a.m. Friday in First Christian Church in Stinnett with the Rev. Bill Burkholder officiating. Burial was in Stinnett cemetery with Masonic graveside rites by Adobe Walls Masonic Lodge No. 1355. Arrangements are by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Mr. Goodwin was born May 16, 1925, in Claude. He was owner/operator of Goodwin Drug Store in Stinnett.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Goodwin; a son, Rodney Goodwin and wife Angela of Fritch; a sister, Annabeth Williams of Stinnett; and two grandchildren.

VIRGINIA KLAUSE
BORGER - Virginia Klause, 79, died Tuesday, March 13, 2007, in Amarillo.
Services were at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Andrew United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ted Wilson officiating. Burial was in Westlawn cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Klause was born Oct. 6, 1927, in La Grange. She married
Waite Klause on Feb. 24, 1949, in San Antonio.
Survivors include four daughters, Janice Phanavanh of Amarillo, Cathy Klause of Austin, Judy Casey of Rankin and Sharon Jackson of Borger; a son, Wayne Klause of Shawnee, Okla.; a sister, Junell Getschmann of Houston; a brother, Lawrence Charles Hoehne of La Grange; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to St. Andrew United Methodist Church, 100 Amaryllis, Borger, TX 79007.
VIRGINIA WERTHER
BORGER - Virginia Werther, 76, died Sunday, March 18, 2007, in Amarillo.
Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Highland Park cemetery with the Rev. Morris Olen Poole and the Rev. Jerry Lane officiating. Arrangements were by Brown Funeral Directors of Borger.
Mrs. Werther was born Aug. 3, 1930, in El Dorado, Ark. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Merilee Scott of Amarillo; a son, Darrell Werther of Enid, Okla.; two brothers, Bill Poole of Amarillo and Thomas Poole of Miami, Okla.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Larry Travis Riley
Larry Travis Riley passed away at 56 years old on Wednesday, July 11th in Borger. A memorial service was held Saturday, July 14, at 10.00 a.m. at Grace Fellowship Church with Pastor Ricky Griffin officiating. Riley was born August 31, 1950 in Lawton Oklahoma, where he later returned to reside from 1988 to 2006. He graduated from Borger High School in 1968 and lived in Borger for most of his life. He had been a Fritch resident for eight months. He was preceded in death by his father, Travis Riley in 1977.
Larry is survived by his wife, Darla Riley of Fritch, son- Timmy Riley and wife Rhonda of Hurst Texas, two daughters- Tammy Smith of Borger, Monica Barter and husband Jeff of Greenwood Texas, his mother- Gladys Hays of Amarillo, sister- Diana Goold and Husband, Bill of Edgewood, New Mexico and eight grandchildren. Arrangements are under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.
Johnny Claude Earwood
Johnny Claude Earwood was born in Commerce, Texas, on Nov. 13, 1959, to William and Gladys Tucker Earwood. Johnny passed away at his home in Scurry on June 11, 2003.
Johnny was raised in Cumby and Seagraves and moved to Kaufman in 1978. For the past six years Johnny lived in Scurry. He worked for Reeds Garage for 25 years. On June 14, 1980, Johnny married
Laurie Lindsey in Scurry.
His father preceded him in death and Johnny is survived by his wife, Laurie Earwood of Scurry; son Randy Earwood of Scurry; daughter Stephanie Goins of Kaufman; grandchildren Tyler Goins, Madison Goins, Hannah Earwood and Mackenzie Earwood; mother Gladys Earwood of Kaufman; brothers Bill Earwood of Indiana, Thomas Earwood of Wills Point and Timmy Earwood of Commerce; sisters Janet Smith of Pecan Gap and Karla Clifton of Kaufman; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 16, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Parker-Ashworth Chapel with Rev. Royce Turner officiating. Interment followed in Wilson Chapel cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home of Kaufman.
Billy Edward Garn
Billy Edward Garn of Kaufman was born in Kaufman on July 14, 1938, to Johnny and Beatrice Munden Garn. Billy passed away in Kaufman on June 9, 2003.
Billy was raised in Kaufman and Dallas. He lived in Dallas and moved back to Kaufman nine years ago.
Billy is survived by his son, Mark Garn of Kaufman; grandson Steven Garn of Kaufman; sisters Carol Thompson of Tool and Dianne Elkins of Kentucky.
Graveside services were held June 11, 2003, at Wilson Chapel cemetery with Rev. D. G. Council officiating. Graveside services were under the direction of Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home of Kaufman.
Harvey Stanley Upchurch
Harvey Stanley Upchurch Sr. (Stan, Dad, Grandpa, Pops) was born on Feb. 17 1941, in Estelline, Texas. He spent most of his childhood and teen years in Rosser.
He worked for Great Southwest Railroad for five years before becoming a firefighter. He retired from the Dallas Fire Department in 1991.
During retirement, Stan drove for Orman Brothers trucking.
After a lengthy battle with lung cancer, he passed away on June 11, 2003.
Stan was preceded in death by his father, General P. Upchurch, his mother, Opal Harvey Upchurch, and half-brother Lonnie (Red) Campbell Jr.
He is survived by his children, daughter Jerri Beal of Crandall, Becky Bates of Frisco, and son Harvey Stanley (Buddy) Upchurch Jr. of Garland; his mother, Nancy Upchurch of Rosser; sister Nanette Vick and husband Sam of Lancaster; brother Anthony Upchurch and wife Rebecca of Rosser; brother Winston Upchurch of Rosser; grandchildren Chelsea and Kristen Beal of Crandall, Brandon, Bake and Austin Bates of Frisco and Hope and Rowdy Upchurch of Elkhart; two nieces, two nephews and very special friend Ann Bailey and family. Services were held at Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home.
Will Everett Long
Will Everett Long, age 9, of Brady was born May 2, 1994, in Dallas to William Murray “Pat” Long and Rebecca “Becky” (Wharton) Long. He passed away June 9, 2003, in Brady.
The family received friends on Wednesday night with a special “Youth and Children’s Time” at the funeral home, hosted by the Brady Clergy Association. Services were held June 12, 2003, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Brady. Interment was at Rest Haven cemetery with Rev. Randall Larr officiating.
Honorary Pallbearers were Will’s Classmates, the Class of 2013.
Will is survived by his parents, Pat and Becky Long of Plano; brothers Cody Long of Austin, Casey Long of Brady and Jake Long of Brady; uncles Mike Long of Brady and Michael and Lisa Wharton of Martins Mill; aunt Gina Hepburn and husband Ken of Brady, Cynthia Wharton of Plano, Camille Leonard of Crandall; cousins Shaun and Tessa Long, Shanna Laird, Zack, Chett and Jill Hepburn, Emily and Whitney Wharton and Garrison and Kristen Leonard; grandparents James and Louise Long of Brady and Jean Wharton of Plano; and great-grandmother Ruby Wharton of Plano.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bill Wharton.
Memorials may be made to Brady Youth Sports Foundation and/or Brady Community Church.

Wayne Meredith
Wayne Meredith, 72, was born on April 26, 1931, in Big Rock Community, Texas, to John Will and Vivian Irene Bledsoe Meredith. He passed away on June 12, 2003, in Kaufman.
Wayne attended Purtis Creek Baptist Church. He had lived in Kaufman the last 28 years.
He was preceded in death by grandson Shawn Harper; brothers George Houston, Marvin Maurice, Merrell and Forest Meredith.
Wayne was survived by daughters and sons-in-law Sandy and Steve Trammel of Athens, Michelle and Jeffrey Deckker of Dayton, Ohio, and Janie Warren of Jefferson; son and daughter-in-law Gary and Donna Meredith of Dallas; sister LaDell Graham of Eustace; 14 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held June 14 at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Rev. Roy Meritt officiating. Interment followed at Meredith Campground cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Dusty Trammell, Jared Trammell, Matthew Harper, Jerry Meredith, Steve Bledsoe and Bobby Bledsoe.
Arrangements were under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home in Canton, Texas.
Zella Mae Booker
Zella Mae Booker, life long Kaufman resident, homemaker, beloved mother, born Oct. 2, 1916, deceased June 19, 2003.
Survived by sons Julius C. Booker of Dallas, Dave A. Booker, daughter Linnie J. Booker, sisters Emma Will Coy (Eugene) and Fannie Lee Holmes, devoted cousin, Frances Stevenson, all of Kaufman, grandchildren and great grandchildren and special friend, Ray V. Pyle of Washing-ton, D.C.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 24, 2003, at 11 a.m. at Bold Pilgrim Baptist Church with Pastor James M. Smith officiating. Interment followed at Council Garden in Kaufman cemetery under the direction of Thomas and Sons Funeral Home of Kaufman.
Wayne Norbert Rebholz
Wayne Norbert Rebholz was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., on Oct. 31, 1943, to Norbert and June Weikert Rebholz. Wayne passed away in Grand Saline, Texas, on July 6, 2003.
Wayne was raised in Pittsburgh and moved to the Dallas area in 1982. On Dec.12, 1985, he married
Kay Aharrah in Dallas. He lived in Forney for seven years before moving to Post Oak Bend in 1992.
Wayne was a member of the Dallas County Sheriff’s Posse and a member of the Hella Shrine Black Horse Patrol.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Kay, of Kaufman; daughter Lisa Schultz of Pittsburgh, Pa.; mother June Rebholz of Pittsburgh, Pa.; brothers Gary Rebholz of Washington, D. C., and Glenn Rebholz of Pittsburgh, Pa.; sisters Carole Feld of Pittsburgh, Pa., Linda Santos of Clarksville, Tenn., and Denise Bigley of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and grandchildren Amber Schultz and Jimmy Schultz.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2003, at Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Alcorn officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home of Kaufman.
Troy Samuel Johnson
Troy Samuel Johnson was born in Tool, Texas, on July 26, 1922, to Samuel and Anna Mason Johnson. Troy passed away at his home in Kaufman on July 3, 2003.
Troy was raised around Mabank and Tool. On Oct. 11, 1950, Troy married
Albina Bednar in Elmo, Texas. He worked for the City of Dallas for 18 years. Troy was a Jehovah’s Witness.
Troy is survived by his wife, Albina Johnson, of Kaufman; brother Alba C. Johnson of Elmo; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 5, 2003, at 10 a.m. at Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in Tool cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home of Kaufman.
Edward John Tallas Jr.
Edward John Tallas Jr. was born in Kaufman County on Nov. 11, 1937, to Edward and Lillie Ozimy Tallas. Edward passed away at his home in Kaufman County on July 22, 2003.
Edward lived in Kaufman County all his life and was a member of Saint Ann Catholic Church in Kaufman. In January 1957 Edward married
Linda Johnson.
Edward is survived by his wife, Linda, of Kaufman; son Jimmy Tallas and his wife, Beverly, of Mesquite; daughters Carolyn Tallas Walker and her husband, John, of Elmo, Debra Perkins and her husband, Herman, of Forney; sister Eva Kozlovsky and her husband, Bernard, of Heath; eight grandchildren and other relatives.
Funeral Mass was held Friday, July 25, 2003, at 10 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church with Father Joseph A. Mehan Jr. officiating. Interment followed in Morrow Chapel cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home of Kaufman.
