Loma B. Kincaid
Loma B. Kincaid, 89, of Portland, passed away Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010 in Portland.
She was born July 14, 1921, in Waelder to Leslie and Georgia Taylor Blackmon. She married
the love of her life, Marshall C. Kincaid, on December 23, 1947, in Gonzales.
Loma was a soft spoken lady and homemaker who loved people. She had lived in Portland since August of 1965. She was a regular patron of the Portland Whataburger, where she enjoyed having breakfast every morning and coffee every evening with friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marshall C. Kincaid; two brothers; and two sisters. She is survived by her dear friend, Cathy Jarvis and husband Don of Portland; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13 in Woodmen of the World cemetery in Gonzales, with Rev. Hollas Hoffman officiating. The family received friends from 1-2 p.m. at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home in Gonzales.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Coastal Palms Care Center in Portland for their wonderful love and care of Loma. In lieu of usual remembrances, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Alice Kincaid Griffin
Alice Kincaid Griffin, 95, passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2010. She was born March 23, 1915 in Waelder to Bart and Fronia Kincaid.
Alice was a resident of Gonzales for over 75 years until moving to Harlingen a few years ago to be closer to family. She was a retired LVN and worked at the Homes Memorial Hospital in Gonzales for over 35 years. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and the Waelder United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a sister, Ruby Fay (Sue) Smith, half-brother, David Kincaid; nieces, Patricia Johannsen, Dana Kincaid and Dorothy Goldammer; nephews, Anthony DuBose, Jr., Richard, Donnie, James and Mark Kincaid; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Kincaid. Since she never had children of her own she was "Aunt Alice" not only to nieces and nephews, but to her friends and neighbors children who will all miss her dearly.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John (Mack) Kincaid, sisters, Dixie DuBose and Grace Kincaid, half-sister, Ida Mae Jones, brothers, James Bartlett and Ray Harper Kincaid, and half-brother, Wesley Kincaid.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 15, 2010 at the Masonic cemetery in Waelder with Rev, Anthony DuBose, Jr. officiating.

Ray Norris Clemons
Ray Norris Clemons, 81, of Shiner, passed quietly away at home on Friday Oct. 8.
Ray was born September 20, 1929 in Bartlett to Henry Monroe Clemons and Ruby Roberts Clemons. He graduated from Bartlett High School. Ray served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War working on aircraft carriers in Pensacola, Florida. He married
the love of his life, Clara Lee Brewer, on May 30, 1958 in Wharton.
Ray worked for General Motors dealerships as the service manager in Corpus Christi and Victoria before moving to Gonzales and joining Hochheim Prairie Farm Mutual Insurance as a claims adjustor. Ray was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
He collected antique automobiles, not so much for their novelty or uniqueness, but for the story behind the car and the memories shared with former owners. Ray was a very gentle unassuming man; he had grown up working in the cotton fields and new the value of hard work.
Ray adored his daughter Leigh Ann; he reveled in her academic success as she worked to attain her Ph.D. Leigh Ann could always count on Ray to offer encouragement as she worked through her post-graduate studies and no one was more proud of her then Ray when her studies were complete.
He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, sister Elizabeth Lou Clemons, and brothers, Estel and Henry Clemons.
Ray is survived by his loving daughter, Dr. Leigh Ann Clemons of Baton Rouge, LA; sister-in-law, Irene Clemons of Bedford, and his brother-in-law, Jerry Murray of Yoakum.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday October 12 in the First United Methodist Church in Gonzales with Pastor Andy Smith officiating. Graveside interment services were held Tuesday at Bartlett cemetery in Bartlett.
Pallbearers were Jerry Murray, Patrick Lichty, David Clemons, Tommy Clemons, Ronnie Clemons, Keyes Clemons, Bill Meadows and Fred Robinson. Honorary pallbearers were Jack Greenfield, Allen Dieringer, William Fink and Edward Goetz. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Gonzales. Services were under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home.
Marion Franklin Richter
Marion Franklin Richter, 93, passed away Friday, Oct. 8, 2010.
Marion was born Feb. 7, 1917, to Adolph and Myrtle Richter in Gonzales. He married
Fannie Grace Richter. They had two children, Lynette Cosby and Brent Richter, and shared life for 69 years.
Marion served in World War II in the Navy. He graduated from University of Texas-Austin with a degree in physics. He was an electrical engineer at General Dynamics. Music was an important part of his life, as he played the piano and sang.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Myrtle Anna Wheelus; and brothers, Clarence and Billy Richter.
Survivors include his wife, Fannie Grace Richter; daughter, Lynette Cosby; son, Brent Richter and wife, Janis; granddaughter, Karen Cosby; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at South Hills Christian Church. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the family plot at Gonzales Memorial Park in Gonzales. Open visitation will be at Greenwood Funeral Home.

Marlin Bruce Hagen
Marlin Bruce Hagen, 78, of Gonzales, passed away Monday, October 4, 2010, in Gonzales. He was born September 19, 1932, in Clifton, TX, to Marlin C. and Edith Holt Hagen.
Mr. Bruce was a sensitive and caring man. He was a very hard worker and was a truck owner and operator for over 30 years based in Gonzales. He enjoyed listening to music and joking around to make people laugh with his sharp and witty sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his former wife, Susan Ainsworth; sons, Michael B. Hagen of Shiner, TX, and Mark B. Hagen of Seguin, TX; granddaughter, Brooke Hagen; sisters, Christine Miller and Brenda Hagen, both of Gonzales, TX; niece, Marla Malatek; nephew, Robert Miller; and his truck and constant companion of 33 years, “Maude”.
Funeral services held at 10:00 am Thursday, October 7, 2010, at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home in Gonzales, with Rev. Lynn Wilson officiating. Interment to follow in Gonzales Memorial Park. Hilda Katie Luedecke Gage
Hilda Katie Luedecke Gage was born June 4, 1918 near Ottine, Texas Gonzales County. She graduated school in Slayden, Texas. Hilda married
William J. Gage on September 19, 1937. They had four children, Kay Prather and husband Larry of Austin, Bill Gage of Austin, Margaret Jordon and husband Jack D. of Kyle, Gerald and Carol Sue Gage of Buda.
Hilda was a life long member of Creedmoor Eastern Star Chapter #607. She had also been a member of Western Trails Garden Club. She was a housewife, rancher, trailer park owner, aunt and grandmother. Hilda made her home available to anyone who needed a place to stay in Austin whether it was due to schooling or a meeting place for Brownies. She often babysat for her grandchildren after school and her home became a gathering place for neighborhood children. She enjoyed her New Year’s Day Dinners with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Joe Gage; grandson, William Clayton Gage; sisters, Erna Miller and Gertrude Hanzalik; brothers, Walter Luedecke, Herman Luedecke, Erich Luedecke; parents, Herman and Hermine Heiland Luedecke.
She is survived by nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Heinz Luedecke and wife Annie of Victoria, Texas; and many nephews and nieces.
Honoring Hilda as pallbearers are Allen Gage, Lynn Dale Luedecke, Dale Luedecke, Henry Gage, Daniel Luedecke and Nathan Magee.
Visitation will be held form 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, October 8, 2010 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Avenue. Audelia Galvan
Audelia Galvan, 46, of Nixon, Texas passed away in her home on October 3, 2010. Audelia Galvan was born on November 6, 1963, in Odessa, Texas to Mr. Guadalupe San Miguel and Mrs. Beatrice Ybarra. She was preceded in death by both her parents, son Julian Galvan, two brothers and two sisters.
Audelia Galvan was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Who will be greatly missed by all. Audelia is survived by her husband of 23 years, Felipe Galvan, two sons: John Galvan, of Gonzales, Texas and Anrico Galvan of Uvalde, Texas, four brothers: Rudy San Miguel, Edward San Miguel of Corpus Christi, Texas; Lupe San Miguel of Houston, Texas; Ruben San Miguel, Odessa, Texas; six sisters: Lala Castillo of Gonzales, Texas; Aida Gomez of Odessa, Texas; JoAnn Lopez of Odessa, Texas; Cindy Garcia of Odessa, Texas; Idalia Valuerde of Nadera, California; Odilia Ortiz of Corpus Christi, Texas; and three grandchildren: Julian, Jacob, and John Jr. Galvan.

Alton Hunter Coop
Alton Hunter Coop, 75, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005, in Dallas. A graveside service was held Friday, Jan. 7, at Newcastle cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Mr. Coop was born Jan. 4, 1930, in Newcastle to the late Eula R. and Hila E. (Long) Coop. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He married
Nancy Baumgarner April 1979 in Graham. He was a retired oilwell driller and longtime resident of Young County.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Coop of Graham; a son, Curt Coop and wife Lorrie of Munday; seven stepchildren, Ursula Lewis of Bryson, Tammy Johnson of Galveston and Elizabeth Russell, Diane Swiger, Pam Washburn, Jimmy Hyles and Raymond Hyles, all of Graham; a brother, Artie Coop of Wichita Falls; and a granddaughter, Brittany Coop.
Linda Ruth Gamble Lowe
March 25, 1949 - June 21, 2009
A memorial service was held for Linda Ruth Gamble Lowe, 60, of Calvert on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at Sneed Memorial Methodist Church in Calvert. Dr. Bill Kerley of St. Paul’s Methodist Church in Houston officiated.
The memorial was followed by a celebration of her life at Moondance Ranch on Sunnyside Road near Calvert. Linda was born March 25, 1949 in Freeport, Texas, the daughter of Stanley and Beverly Jean Gamble. She passed from this earth on June 21, 2009 at her ranch in the Walnut Creek Bottoms.
Friends and family participated in the memorial service. Dr. Elsa Murano of Texas A&M University gave a moving address.
At the time of her death Linda was communications specialist at Texas A&M. She graduated from Texas A&M in August 2008 Summa Cum Laude, was a member of Phi Kappa Phi and on the Dean’s List. She was a proud and loyal Aggie.
She was very active in Houston in the film and video scene and was the founding member and President of Houston Chapter of Women in Film and Television. She had been awarded several awards for her television commercials and public service announcements. She was involved in the Houston Road House Project, an art collective that also provided housing and education for single mothers in need. She worked for KTRK in Houston, KBTX in Bryan and KWTX in Waco. While completing her college education she worked for Producer’s Coop in Bryan and many will remember her as the voice of their commercials. She was a writer for the Calvert Tribune, penning a weekly column that detailed her life on the ranch outside Calvert on Tidwell Prairie.
She toured Europe with a theatre group called S.T.O.M.P. in which she played trumpet, sang and danced. She was on the cover of several well known magazines including Life.
Linda loved her ranch and the animals she kept there. She was especially fond of horses and related many of her adventures with her Quarter Horse, Chief, in her newspaper column.
She is survived by her son, Solomon Austin Bachman of Austin and grandchildren, Maddison Bachman and Hunter Bachman; two daughters, Veronica Bachman of Houston and Anna Lowe of Durham, North Carolina; brothers, Robert Gamble and Penny, John Clark Gamble and Laura and David Gamble and Martha.

Herman Franklin Athey
Herman Franklin Athey, 75, died Wednesday, July 14, 2004, in Amarillo.
Services were Saturday. Arrangements were by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.
Mr. Athey served in the Army. He married
Virginia Brown on Nov. 28, 1950, in Tucumcari, N.M.
Survivors include a daughter, Pamela Athey of Amarillo; two sisters, Faye Gamblin and Sissy Wiseman, both of Amarillo; five grandchildren including Shane Athey of Fritch; and seven great-grandchildren.
Abran Victor Campos
Abran Victor Campos, 69, died Tuesday, July 13, 2004.
Graveside services were held in Highland Park cemetery with Monsignor Norbert Kuehler, pastor of St. John’s Catholic Church, officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Garden by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Mr. Campos was born Dec. 19, 1934, in Santa Rosa, N.M. He was a painter in construction.
Survivors include a daughter, Pattie Campos of Stinnett; two brothers, Bill Campos of Fritch and Charlie Campos of Houston; three sisters, Lucille Romero and Esther Baca, both of Albuquerque, N.M., and Dorothy Simpson of Amarillo.
Pearlie Maxine Lemons
Pearlie Maxine Lemons, 78, died Thursday, July 15, 2004, in Lubbock.
Services were at 9 a.m. Monday in Fry Funeral Home Chapel in Bowie with the Rev. Bob Wilson, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Alvord, officiating. Burial was in Montague County cemetery. Local arrangements were by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Mrs. Lemons was born June 23, 1926, in Ardmore, Okla. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a daughter, Judy Allen of Fritch; a brother, Ray Romine of Montague; a sister, Patsy Nell Allen of Bowie; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Katie "Grandma" Stucker
RANGER- Katie Brazil "Grandma" Stucker, 97, of Ranger passed away on Thursday. Services were held Monday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Roger Langston officiating. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Ranger, Texas.
Mrs. Stucker was born on July 25, 1906 in Perryville Arkansas to Alfred and Lillie Brazil. While attending school she student taught, during the time when there was only one room school. She married
Dean Stucker on March 23, 1929 in Greenville, Texas and he preceded her in death on December 10, 1968. She worked in the Borger School Cafeteria while she lived there as a cook. When she moved to Ranger in 1964 she work in home health caring for the terminally ill. She was of Cherokee heritage and was very proud of that. She attended the Church of God on Strawn Road in Ranger.
Mrs. Stucker is survived by her children; Bob Stucker of Lemoore California, Wanda Collins of Fritch, Tx., and Johnny Stucker of Jacksonville, Florida. A sister Edna Cox of Ranger, Tx. Seven grandchildren; Dana Collins, Cindy Randall, Terry and Lynn Stucker, Barbara Newton, Rhonda Ransom and Gwen Tullos. Numerous great and great great grandchildren as well and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dwayne Lee Bennett
Dwayne Lee Bennett, 76, died Monday, July 12, 2004, in Dumas.
Services were at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Bill Browning, pastor of Broadway Baptist Church in Fritch, officiating. Burial was in Westlawn Memorial Park.
Mr. Bennett was born on April 17, 1928, in Littlefield. He was ordained as a Baptist minister in 1950, serving as pastor of several area churches.
Survivors include three sons, Fate D. Bennett of Fritch, Mark W. Bennett of Tulsa, Okla., and Rex D. Bennett of Austin; a brother, Don Bennett of Fort Stockton; a sister, Ruth Humphrey of Raleigh, N.C.; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice, 800 N. Sumner St., Pampa, TX 79065.
