Jackie Dean Craig was born July 9, 1936 in Talihina, Oklahoma. He married Zella Moose on August 30, 1958 in Lubbock. He was a sign painter for the City of Lubbock for 38 years, retiring in 1998 and still working two days a week.
Jackie is survived by his wife, Zella; 4 daughters, Judy Ballou, Janet Mosqueda and Sue Craig all of Lubbock and Terri Craig of Denver, Co.; 3 sons, Joey Dean Craig and Michael Ballou both of Lubbock and Jimmy Craig of Denver, Co.; 8 grandchildren, Sandra, April, Sharen, Jeremy, Joshua, Bambi, Brandon and Brian; 2 great grandchildren, A.J. and Jace; 2 sisters, Joyce and Jannet; and a brother Jerry.

Mary Vaughn Forrest
Mary Vaughn Forrest was born August 27, 1898 in Tecumseh, Ok and had been a resident of Lubbock since 1949. she married John Farris Vaughan in 1920. He died June 16, 1950. She married George Bowers Forrest in May of 1957. He died in 1979. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was active in the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School.
Survivors include 2 sons, Bob Vaughan of Lubbock and Farris Vaughan of Carlsbad, N.M.; a daughter, Lila Lear of Hayfork, Calif.; a sister, Hattie Nofsker of Carlsbad, N.M.; 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
She died Tuesday, March 12, 2002 at the age of 103.
Shirley Oldfield

Shirley Oldfield, age 77, died Wednesday, June 13, 2012 in Amarillo, Texas.
Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 PM on Monday, June 18, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church in Clayton with Rev. Jay Jones, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.
Shirley Oldfield was born on February 22, 1935 in Boise City, Oklahoma to John Arnold Neuenschwander and Irene Mae (Hillegas) Neuenschwander. A lifelong resident of Union County, Shirley married Billy Max Oldfield on August 10, 1952 in Clayton, New Mexico and he preceded her in death on September 5, 1997. Shirley was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Clayton.

Eunice Franz

Eunice Franz, age 75, died Sunday, June 10, 2012, in Amarillo, Texas.
Funeral Services were held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church in Clayton with Rev. Jay Jones, pastor officiating. Burial followed in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.
Eunice Franz was born on October 8, 1936 in Spearman, Texas to E. A. "Dutch" Lester and Lorine (Sanders) Lester. Eunice worked at the old Smithson Drug store in Clayton for a few years. It was while working at the drug store that she met Marvin C. Franz, they started dating and were later united together in marriage on June 9, 1956 in Clayton, New Mexico and he preceded her in death on August 10, 2000. Eunice was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Clayton. In addition to her husband, Eunice was preceded in death by her father E. A. "Dutch" Lester on December 2, 1984 and by her mother, Lorine (Sanders) Lester on September 6, 1992.

Joseph "Geepa" Manno
Joseph "Geepa" Manno, 82, of Amarillo died Saturday, March 21, 2009.
Rosary will be said at 6 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2009 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2009 in the church with the Rev. Hector Madrigal as celebrant. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia St.
Mr. Manno was born Jan. 24, 1927, in Clifton, N.J., and graduated from Clifton High School. He then attended Syracuse University, graduating in 1949. After graduation, he taught English literature for several years. He then had a calling and entered St. Bonaventure Seminary for five years. After seminary, he went to work for St. Anthony's Guild in Patterson, N.J, where he met and married his first wife, Angelina, who preceded him in death in 1993.
He went to work for the Social Security Administration in Baltimore as a computer analyst and retired in 1992 after 32 years of service. He then met Theresa Vigil, and they married on April 13, 1996, in Canadian and moved to Amarillo that same year. He was deputized by the archbishop of Baltimore as a special minister for the distribution of Holy Communion and then recommissioned in Amarillo at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, where he was a member. He was actively involved in RCIA team at St. Joseph's and sponsor to many. He belonged to St. Luke's ministry and was a lector at the church. He was commissioned in Amarillo by Bishop John W. Yanta to serve as a lay chaplain for BSA Hospice and hospital. He was involved in prison ministries, a member of the Knights of Columbus, a professed member of the Secular Franciscan Order Padre Pio Fraternity and a member of the Amarillo Italian Club.
He also was preceded in death by two sons-in-law, David Kirby and Scott Campbell.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa; three daughters, Anita Sumner of Spearman, Frances Garcia of Amarillo and Cathy Campbell of Canadian; a brother, Anthony Manno of Wayne, N.J.; seven grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Don Reynolds
PERRYTON - Don Reynolds, 58, formerly of Amarillo, died Monday, March 23, 2009.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2009 in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Laverty officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Llano Cemetery in Amarillo by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton.
Mr. Reynolds was born March 31, 1950, in Wichita Falls to Lawrence and Verda Reynolds. He worked for the city of Amarillo as an industrial waste supervisor for 24 years, retiring in 2002.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Michael Reynolds of Gruver, Jeffery Reynolds of Amarillo and Damon Broxson of Sanger; a daughter, Frances Yerger of Amarillo; a sister, Shirley Elliott of Amsterdam, N.Y.; and eight grandchildren.

Mary Ellen Vernon
SPEARMAN - Mary Ellen Vernon, 95, died Sunday, March 15, 2009.
Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2009 in Hansford Cemetery with Jimmy Greene officiating. Arrangements were by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.
Ellen was born Nov. 21, 1913, to George W. and Lottie Stewart Francis on a ranch near Elm School south of Erick and Texola in Beckham County, OK. She had lived in the area since 1926, moving from Erick. She attended school in Erick. In 1926, she moved to the Kimball Community north of Spearman in Hansford County, where she attended the Kimball school. She married Jake Vernon on Sept. 15, 1932, in Guymon, OK, in a ceremony performed by the late Dr. Fred Daily's father, a justice of the peace. Jake preceded her in death in 2000 after 67 years together.
She was a member of First Christian Church and CWF, having served in the choir and as a youth fellowship sponsor. She was a charter member of the Gruver-Kimball Home Demonstration Club. She was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker who enjoyed playing piano and gardening, especially growing roses.
She also was preceded in death by her parents and four half brothers and half sisters.
Survivors include a son, Jimmie R. Vernon and wife Kay of Spearman; a daughter, Mary Francis Fewell and husband Bernard of Canyon and Spearman; two grandsons, Jim Vernon and wife Kelly of Carrollton and Lynn Vernon and wife Sandra of Friendswood; a granddaughter, Shari Skaggs and husband Kevin of Argyle; two stepgranddaughters, Kim Gallop and Leigh Standiford, both of Amarillo; a stepgrandson, Craig Fewell of Midland; and seven great-grandchildren.

Albert Henry Graves
SPEARMAN - Albert Henry Graves, 84, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in First Christian Church with the Rev. Roy King officiating. Burial will be in Moore City Cemetery in Moore, Okla. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton.
Albert was born Oct. 30, 1924, in Moore. He married Alice Joanne Johnson on June 3, 1951, in Wichita, Kan.
He was an industrial engineer. He was a member of First Christian Church of Spearman and a graduate of Kansas State University.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Joanne Graves; two daughters, Rebecca Wiggins and husband Jeff of Spearman and Deborah and C.B. Jones of Maiden, N.C.; a sister, Jeanene Wilson of Lubbock; two granddaughters, Kristin Gross of Hoover, Ala., and Joanna Jones of Maiden; two grandsons, Doug Walker of Lubbock and Christopher Jones of Maiden; and a great-grandson, Chandler Gross of Hoover, Ala.

Branch Archer Sheets
SPEARMAN - Branch Archer Sheets, 93, died Friday, Feb. 27, 2009.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Church of Christ with Rick Bloodworth officiating. Burial will be in Holt Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.
Mr. Sheets was born June 22, 1915, in Jeffry. He married Mallie Carter on Aug. 23, 1949, in Borger, and she preceded him in death in 2003.
Mr. Sheets was a farmer and rancher. He was a Church of Christ member.
Survivors include a son, Dan Sheets and wife Nancy of Tipton, Okla.; a daughter, Kay Padon and husband Robbie of Greenville; three brothers, Willis Sheets of Round Rock and S.B. Sheets and Claude Sheets Jr., both of Spearman; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Helen "June" Kindy
PERRYTON - Helen "June" Kindy, 94, died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church with Dr. Ed Williamson officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton.
Mrs. Kindy was born June 15, 1914, in Nowata, Okla., to Ira and Ruth Bitters. She married W.O. "Bill" Kindy on Sept. 22, 1933, in Ponca City, Okla. He died in 1975. She had lived in Perryton for 50 years, moving from Gruver.
Mrs. Kindy was a lunchroom supervisor. Her community involvement included: Worthy Grand Matron and charter member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 161; Silver-Haired Legislator for the Panhandle of Texas; first president and co-founder of Ochiltree Senior Citizens Center, where she was a board member for many years, called bingo regularly and taught defensive driving; Kiwanis International Work Horse of the Year in 1983; member of the Wolf Creek chapter of the DAR; taught safety, health and CPR for the Red Cross; member of the Ochiltree Hospital Ladies Auxiliary and a Pink Lady; volunteered at the Senior Village Nursing Home; ombudsman; and district director of AARP.
She was known as the "banana lady" since she delivered fresh bananas to Senior Village Nursing Home. She was a member of a square dancing club for many years and was an active member of First United Methodist Church, where she taught elementary and adult Sunday school and was a member of the Methodist Women Naomi Circle. June and her husband were active in Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts.
She also was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Bill Kindy.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna Luttrull Burch of Weatherford, Okla.; a son, Carl Dean Kindy of Frisco; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Betty L. Boyd West
Betty L. Boyd West, 56, of Garden City died on Thursday, February 19, 2009 at her home in Garden City. She was born on April 25, 1952 in Spearman, Texas the daughter of Irvin A. & Helen Jo (Sanders) Boyd.
Betty was born and raised in Gruver, Texas; she grew up helping on the family farm, and attended school in Gruver, Texas. After high school Betty attended cosmetology school in Borger, TX, and became owner and operator of Hair Loft 2100 Salon in Spearman. In 1987 she moved to Garden City, where she would remain. While in Garden City Betty owned and operated Sitters and More Home Health Agency, Sandstone Spirits Liquor, and Boots Bistro restaurant. Betty enjoyed camping and boating, she also enjoyed working, the time she spent with her grandchildren, her family and her friends. A loving wife, mother , and grandmother. She was a member of Plymell Union Church.
On March 14, 1982 she married Charles West in Amarillo, TX. He survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Jammie Palkowitsh of Garden City, and Di'Ann Koenig of Sioux City, Iowa; her parents of Gruver, TX; a Sister Mary Sue Wester of Spearman, TX; and two brothers Willis Boyd of Spearman, TX and Daniel Boyd of Old Hansford, TX and 5 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on February 23, 2009 at Plymell Union Church. With Rev. James R. Carlson Officiating. John Melvin Trindle
SPEARMAN - John Melvin Trindle, 86, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Neely Landrum officiating. Burial will be in Holt Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.
Mr. Trindle was born June 14, 1922, in Kingfisher County, Okla. John attended Park rural school and graduated from Kingfisher High School in 1940. He entered the U.S. Army Air Forces in 1942 and served until 1946. That fall, he moved to McKibben, 10 miles southwest of Spearman to plant wheat on land purchased from First State Bank of Booker. John spent the winter of 1946 in Booker making chisel plows at the Goode Plow Co. While there, he met Virginia Fluitt, and they married May 3, 1947. John was presented the 1940 Junior Master Farmer Award by the governor of Oklahoma.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church and a past board member of Hansford County ASCS, Hansford Hospital, Perryton Equity Exchange and First United Methodist Church. He enjoyed woodworking.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Trindle; a daughter, Jan Holt and husband Larry of Spearman; a sister, Ruth Mccully of Kingfisher; three granddaughters, Josie Hudson and husband Logan of Miami, Texas, Abbe Swearengen and husband Chad of Amarillo and Betsy Kalisiak and husband Shad of Dalhart; three grandsons, John Holt and wife Elissa and David Holt, all of Spearman, and Nathan Steger and wife Jessica of Italy; and six great-grandchildren, Samuel, Daniel and Anna Hudson of Miami, Genevieve and Liliana Holt, both of Spearman, and Connor Swearengen of Amarillo.

Marvin Leon Webb
AMARILLO - Marvin Leon Webb, 66, died Thursday, February 12, 2009.
Memorial services were held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2009 in the Brentwood Chapel of Schooler Funeral Home. Chaplain Jeff Messer officiated. Arrangements were by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Mr. Webb was born August 20, 1942 in Fort Sumner, NM to Virgil and Leola Webb. He met Michele and they married in Trinidad, Colorado. He was employed as a petroleum engineer with Diamond Shamrock and Santa Fe Energy. He was employed by Jaten Oil Company for over twenty-three years and served as the company president for many years. He was the past president of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Amarillo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Olan and L. R. "Buddy" Webb.
He is survived by his wife Michele of the home; one stepson Tom Kersnick of Pasadena, CA; three brothers, Lee Roy Webb of Mansfield, Tx, Orval Webb of Aztec, NM and O'Dell Webb of Quanah; five sisters, Margaret Oldham of Fort Sumner, NM, Erma Harkey of Auburn, CA, Arline Darrow of Hominy, OK, Freda Briscoe of Dallas and Lynda Archer of Amarillo; and many nieces and nephews.

Sharon Ann 'Sherry' Moore
SPEARMAN - Sharon Ann 'Sherry' Moore, 61, died Tuesday, February 17, 2009.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Spearman with the Rev. Jim Medley officiating. Interment will be in Citizen Cemetery in Clarendon at 3 p.m. on Saturday, under the direction go Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.
Sherry was born in Clarendon on September 28, 1947. He married Phillip Terry Moore. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her father, H.C. Shaw of Clarendon; two aunts, Margaret Hillman and Jane Hillman, both of Clarendon.
Survivors include her husband, Terry Moore of Spearman; a daughter and her husband, Jo and Wayne Pierson of Muleshoe, TX; a son and his wife, Shawn and Dynell Moore of Ruther Glen, VA; a granddaughter, Megan Pierson of Muleshoe; two grandsons, Tobin Pierson of Muleshoe and Connor Moore of Ruther Glen, VA; her mother, Joann Shaw of Clarendon; and a sister, Carrie Show of Clarendon.
