MRS. THELMA BROWN
God in his infinite wisdom, on July 17, 1915 from the union of Robert and Rosella Payne, came the birth of Thelma Lee in Marrow, Louisiana. In 1930, her daddy relocated his family to Crosby, where she grew up and attended public school. She was an outstanding academic scholar and became the valedictorian of her class. She accepted Christ at a very early age and lived her life as a Christian. She served the Lord faithfully until her health began to fail.
October 17, 1933, she joined in holy matrimony to Albert (son) Brown. To this union five children were born. She was a loving faithful wife and mother. Her son, Master Sgt. Edward Lee Armstrong preceded her in death. She was a very creative and innovative person. Her skills were exhibited in directing plays, planning weddings and banquets. One of her greatest accomplishment as President of Crosby Colored High School PTA was to make the first uniforms for the Drum and Bugle Chorus. She was a strong supporter for the modernization of the Crosby Community; street lights, sewer lines and street names.

Because of her outstanding leadership God allowed her gifts to be a blessing locally, in the district and the state.
God sent an Angel to get His Servant on January 23, 2003, He said “Come on Home, thy good and faithful servant.” Missionary Brown leaves to treasure her legacy four daughters, Juanita Chenevert, David Lee (Spookie) Montgomery, Joyce Faye DeMartha (Ray) and Thelma L.
