Clinton “Bart” McDonald
MITCHELL, SD - Clinton McDonald, 76, Kimball, died Monday, May 24, 2010, at Avera Brady Health and Rehab in Mitchell, SD. Services will be Thursday, May 27, 2010, 2:00 PM, at the Bittner Funeral Chapel in Mitchell. Military Graveside Services will be in Servicemen’s Memorial Cemetery in Mitchell.
Clinton Bartholomew McDonald, was born May 4, 1934, in Beaver County, OK, to Earl and Nellie (Benner) McDonald. He grew up in Oklahoma and attended Talihina High School in Talihina, OK. On November 10, 1953, he joined the US Marine Corps. He served in the Korean War and two tours of duty in the Vietnam War. On December 31, 1958, he married Zena Faye Bowen, in Washington, DC. They lived in Camp Pendleton, CA, Hawaii, San Diego, CA, and Barstow, CA. After his retirement from the Marine Corps, they lived in West Bountiful, Utah, where he was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad and then Spearman, TX, where he was employed at Baker Taylor Drilling Co. They had been residents of Kimball, SD since 2006.
He is survived by his wife Zena Faye, three children: Teresa Henson of Mitchell; Patricia Quillin of Dallas, TX; Anna McDonald of Altus, OK; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; six sisters and three brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Bonnie Bonham
GRUVER - Bonnie Bonham, 70, died Monday, May 24, 2010.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Gruver Cemetery with the Rev. Scott Curry officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.
Bonnie was born Sept. 17, 1939, in Wichita County. She married Jimmy Joe Bonham on Nov. 29, 1956, in Burkburnett. He died in 2007.
She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Gruver.
She also was preceded in death by a son, Larry Bonham.
Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Keith Bonham of Corpus Christi and Jeff Bonham of Amarillo; two sisters, Mary Nail of Amarillo and Sissy Sands of Burkburnett; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Rosanne Porter Haas
POCATELLO, ID - Roasanne Haas (nee Porter) died peacefully on May 23, 2010 at her daughter’s home in Pocatello, Idaho. She was 82 years old.
Mrs. Haas was the wife of the late Franklin C. Haas of Blackfoot, Idaho. She was born in Enid, Oklahoma on November 16, 1927, and raised in Spearman, Texas. Her parents, Raymond LaRue and Florence Rose Chalmers Porter owned a large farm and several businesses in Hansford County, including a local grain elevator. She attended Texas Christian University and North Texas State University and received a degree in Physical Education. She married Mr. Haas in 1951, in Spearman, and they moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho. Subsequently, they relocated to Blackfoot, Idaho. Mrs. Haas taught school in Dumas, Texas, and in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Mrs. Haas was a member of the Jason Lee Memorial United Methodist Church in Blackfoot, where she sang in the choir for many years. She was also Past Worthy Matron of Esther Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star in Blackfoot.
She is preceded in death by her husband, late of Blackfoot, Idaho; her parents, late of Spearman; her brothers, R. Chalmers Porter of Spearman and Franklin W. Porter of Chandler, Oklahoma; her sister, Elsa Ruth Porter of Amarillo; and her son-in-law, Stephen Witte of Hudson Ohio.
She is survived by her children, Chalmers Porter (Kristine Schreiber) Haas of Idaho Falls; Carrie Rose (Doug) Lindley, of Pocatello; Alfred Raymond Haas, of Spokane, Washington; and Christina Haas (Stephen, dec) Witte of Hudson, Ohio, as well as three nieces, eight nephews, and six grandchildren: Maurie, Abigail, Jesse, and Natalie Haas, of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Augusta and Luisa Funk of Hudson, Ohio.
Donations in Mrs. Haas’s memory may be made to the Jason Lee Memorial United Methodist Church, 168 S. University Ave., Blackfoot, Idaho 83221; the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, William Black Medical Research Bldg, Columbia University Med. Ctr., 650 W. 160th St., New York, New York 10032.

Roy Glenn McBride
MIDLAND - Roy Glenn McBride, 66, of Midland, died on May 20, 2010, at his residence. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held on Monday, May 24, 2010, at 10:00 AM at Western Roses Cemetery, with Rev. Jan Reed, Hospice Chaplain, officiating.
He is survived by his wife Gerri, of Midland; four sons, William S. Weakley of Columbus, Ohio, Kenneth Weakley of Woodbury, Minnesota, John Weakley and wife Makela of Ft. Worth, and Richard Weakley and wife Renee of Lamar, Colorado; one daughter Sharon Williams and husband Richard of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; 2 sisters, Edna Waddell and husband Gene of Midland, and Barbara McKee and husband Bob of Tomball, Texas; 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Roy Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, CW McBride and Verla Havron McBride; and a brother, Danny McBride.

C.L. “Tot” Pierce
GRUVER – C. L. Pierce, age 91, died Saturday, May 15, 2010. Graveside services were in the Gruver Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Tuesday May 18, with Cecil Biggers officiating. Burial was under arrangement of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.
C. L. Pierce was born on December 7, 1918 in Lamesa, Texas. He married Faneita Rogers August 6, 1936 in Pecos, Texas. They moved to Hitchland, Texas in 1948, then to Gruver in 1957 and have lived in Panhandle for the last six years. He worked for the Texas Highway Department until his retirement in 1979.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #1326 A. F. & A. M past Master; had farmed in Arkansas and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
His parents: Sam and Birdie Pierce; wife: Faneita (1999); one brother and one sister precede him in death.
Two sons: Frank W. Pierce of Pocotello, Idaho; Darrell Pierce of Dallas; one daughter: Totsie Clayton of White Deer, Texas; eleven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren survive him.

Viola Thompson
GRUVER – Viola Thompson, 93, of Gruver passed away Thursday afternoon, May 13, 2010 at the Hansford Manor in Spearman, Texas.
The daughter of John Wesley and Stella (Ritter) Wilkerson, she was born October 2, 1916 in Blanchard, Oklahoma. Viola was raised in the Blanchard area.
Viola and Elmer Thompson were united in marriage on March 2, 1934 in Mangum, Oklahoma. The family moved to Gruver, Texas from Mangum in 1966 and she has been a resident since that time. She attended the Union Church in Spearman and loved spending time with her family, as well as sewing and crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer on October 27, 1985; her parents; three brothers and one grandson.
Survivors include her seven children: Cecil Thompson, Bobby Thompson and Howard Thompson, all of Gruver, Pat Alexander of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Wanda and husband, Richard Beard of Pleasanton, Texas, Otis Thompson and wife, Towana of Bakersfield, California, and Fern and husband, Ronnie Harris of Bryan, Texas; 25 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; 35 great-great grandchildren; three sisters: Eunice Yandell, Lois Coleman and Margie Arnold; and one brother, Billy Wilkerson.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon, May 19th at 2:00 p.m. at the Gruver First Baptist Church with Pastor Scott Curry and Pastor Gary Gumfory officiating. Interment followed in the Gruver Cemetery. Services were under the care of the Bunch - Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
The body will lie in state at the Gruver First Baptist Church on Tuesday, May 18th, between the hours of 6 and 8:00 p.m., and on Wednesday until service time.

Edythe Marie Anderson
LAVERNE, OK - Edythe Marie Anderson, 79. died Sunday, May 9, 2010 in Spearman, Texas.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 13, 2010 in First Baptist Church in Laverne with the Rev. Michael Wilcox and the Rev. Gaylon Cox officiating. Burial will be in Laverne Memorial Cemetery by Myatt Funeral Home.
Mrs. Anderson was born May 10, 1930, in Logan to Walter Ray and Mary Edith Roe Wells. She married James "Winston" Anderson on Aug. 16, 1955, in Woodward.
Survivors include a son, Jimmy Anderson of Bartlesville; and a daughter, Ronda Witten of Spearman.

Charlie West
SPEARMAN – Charlie West, age 74, died Monday May 10, 2010. Graveside services will be Thursday May 13, at 10 AM in Hansford Cemetery with Rev. Gary Smith officiating. Burial will be under arrangement of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.
Mr. West was born Aug. 24, 1935, in Amherst to Kirby L. and Flossie Mae West. He attended high school in Frederick Oklahoma. He married Florence Jean Schultz on September 7, 1957.
Charlie was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force. He farmed in the Spearman area for 33 years. He was a member of First Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Jean; one son, Darrell West and wife Wanda of Spearman; one daughter, Christy Esarey and husband Don of Cheyenne Wells, Colorado; two sisters, Louise Presnell and husband Bob of McPherson, Kansas, Bonnie McIntyre of Enid Oklahoma; six grandsons, Ty West of Borger; Bailey and Matt Esarey of Hugoton, Kansas; Troy Brown of Borger; Mark Brown of Spearman; L.T. Esarey of Cheyenne Wells, Colorado; and 11 great-grandchildren survive him.

Dorothy K. Riddle
WAKA - Dorothy K. Riddle, 91, died Tuesday, May 11, 2010.
Services will be at noon Friday in Drinkwine Mortuary in Littleton, Colo., with the Rev. Paul Clark officiating. Burial will be in Lehow Cemetery near Littleton. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton.
Mrs. Riddle was born Feb. 8, 1919, in Englewood, Colo. She married John Riddle on Oct. 23, 1943, in Canon City, Colo. She lived in the Texas Panhandle since 1999. She was a homemaker and a member of Assembly of God Church in Spearman.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Riddle in 1971.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Rodgers of Waka; a grandson, John Rodgers of Perryton; a granddaughter, Nancy Hinds of Campo, Colo.; and four great-grandchildren.

Ruth Louise Denton
SPEARMAN - Ruth Louise Denton, 89, died Tuesday, May 11, 2010.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday with Mary Ingram, minister, officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Hope in Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.
Ruth was born Feb. 11, 1921, in Grayson County. She married Jerrell Elton Denton on Nov. 21, 1938, in Pottsboro. She worked for nine years in their Tomato Hot House in Fritch, built by her husband and son Jerry.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry Denton of Perryton and Don Denton of Clarendon; three daughters, Lynda Osman and Carolyn Brunson, both of Amarillo, and Cynthia Denton of Fritch; a sister, Dana Rogers of Amarillo; a brother, Harold Rawlins of Lewisville; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
A visitation for family and friends will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Fritch.

Paula Villalobos
GRUVER - Paula Villalobos, 71, passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2010.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 14, 2010 in First Christian Church of Gruver with Rev. Gary Gumfory officiating. Interment will be in Gruver Cemetery under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.
Mrs. Villalobos was born on July 23, 1938 in Matamores, Mexico. She married Joe Villalobos on June 25, 1956 in Matamoros, Mexico. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by two sons, George Villalobos in 1986 and James Villalobos in 2007.
Survivors include her husband, Joe Villalobos of the home; two sons, Joe Villalobos, Jr. of Spearman and Anthony Villalobos of Amarillo; two daughters, Janie Ortiz of Irving and Adela Chantaca of Dallas; a brother, Hijenio Pesena of Florida; seven sisters, Adela Wright, Luisa Gonzales, Alicia Martinez, Sylvia Cerna, Martha Jamarillo and Esmeralda Trujillo, all of Dallas and Effie Brasher of Mississippi; 9 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Charline Doris Laxson
SPEARMAN - Charline Doris Laxson, 78, died Saturday, May 1, 2010.
Services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church in Spearman with the Rev. Jim Medley officiating. Burial will be in Gruver Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers funeral Home in Spearman.
Mrs. Laxson was born Oct. 14, 1931, in Gatesville. She married Bo Laxson on Nov. 16, 1946, in Meridian. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bo, in 1989; a son, Ronnie Laxson in 1996; a brother; and three sisters.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Laxson and wife Susan of Amarillo and Jim Laxson and wife Betty of Arlington; a daughter, Paulette Laxson of Spearman; a brother, Willis Warren of Trent; two sisters, Annie Belcher of Hamilton and Bernice Light of Andrews; and nine grandchildren, Courtney Laxson of Lubbock, Terry Laxson of Kingsville, Jeannie Gavigan of Merrick, N.Y., Blake Laxson of Miami, Fla., Jennifer Smith of Amarillo, Chris Laxson of Ashburn, Va., Randy Laxson of Kerrville, Lisa Bilbrey of Clarendon, and Kelly Laxson of Amarillo; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Marvin Earl Reagan
PANHANDLE - Marvin Earl Reagan, 57, died Friday, April 30, 2010.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First United Methodist Church of Panhandle with the Rev. Lewis Holland officiating. Burial will follow in Panhandle Cemetery by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.
Marvin was born March 1, 1953, in Amarillo to Earl and Kyble Reagan. He attended Borger public schools and graduated from Borger High School in 1971. Marvin attended Texas State Technical Institute and graduated with a degree in diesel mechanics in August 1972.
He married his high school sweetheart, Cynthia Jean Harris, on Aug. 19, 1972, in Borger. Over the next few years, Marvin worked for the International Harvester Dealerships in Spearman, Fairview, Okla., Muleshoe and Brownfield.
In 1982 the opportunity to own an I.H. dealership presented itself in Panhandle, and Marvin and his brother, Jonny, went into business and hired their brother, Alan. They eventually moved their business to Pampa where it remained until Marvin closed it in 1998. Marvin then worked as a long-distance truck driver until his health no longer allowed him to drive professionally.
Marvin was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Panhandle where he enjoyed singing in the choir and cooking meals for the youth and choir parties.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; and his younger brother, Alan.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia; two daughters, Jennifer Lavake and husband Jeremy of Amarillo, and Kimberly Reagan of Longview; a son, Robert Reagan of Canyon; a brother, Jonny Reagan and wife Mona of Pampa; two sisters, Sharon O'Connor and husband Michael of Burleson, and Kathy Lancaster and husband John of Baton Rouge, La.

Henry Grady "Bud" Connally
AMARILLO - Henry Grady "Bud" Connally, 85, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, April 21, 2010.
Services were at 10 a.m. Saturday in San Jacinto Church of Christ with Glen Walton, Bret McCasland and Dale Dennis officiating. Burial was in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Henry, affectionately called Bud, was born Nov. 28, 1924, in Brownsboro, Ala., to Henry and Susie Connally. He married Bonnie Lening in February 1948 in Spearman.
Bud dedicated his life to education for more than 40 years, 27 of which he worked as the director of federal programs at Region 16 Service Center.
Bud was a longtime member of San Jacinto Church of Christ, where he had been both an elder and a deacon. He was also an avid basketball fan.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Connally; two sons, Randy Connally and wife Christy and Ron Connally and wife Tina, all of Amarillo; a daughter-in-law, Linda Connally of Amarillo; a sister, Jean Johnson and husband John of Amarillo; a brother, Charles Connally and wife Jean of Antioch, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Cari Morrison and husband Colby, Brett Connally and wife Natalie, Rendi Bonner and husband Jamie, Brennan Connally and Kalee Connally; and five great-grandchildren, Zac, Jaetin, Maddie, Coulson and Roxie.
