Nora Lovonia Pratt, 92, of Canyon died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011.
There will be no services.
Mrs. Pratt was born July 14, 1918, in Alton, Ill., to Henry and Madie O'Hara. She worked as a seamstress.
Survivors include two nieces, Edith Volden of Spearman and Charlene Hamilton of Canyon; and a nephew, Mike Schobernd of Alton, Ill.
Dorris Tucker Cluck
GRUVER - Dorris Tucker Cluck, 89, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011.
Services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church of Gruver with the Rev. Scott Curry officiating. Burial was in Gruver Cemetery in Gruver. Arrangements were by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.
Mrs. Cluck was born on March 16, 1921, in Perryton to Louie Tarleton and Mary Powell Tucker.
She lived in the area her entire life and was a graduate of Gruver High School. She married J.C. (Pete) Cluck on Dec. 31, 1939, in Perryton. He preceded her in death in 1990. Mrs. Cluck was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Amarillo and former member of First Baptist Church of Gruver.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louie Tarleton Tucker and Mary Powell Tucker; a son, David Homer Cluck; four brothers, Lee Tucker, Eugene Tucker, Marion Tucker and Laddie Tucker; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, John Tucker Cluck and wife Peggye and Ben Clinton Cluck, both of Amarillo; a daughter, Marianna Lee Lively and husband James of Fredericksburg; six grandchildren, Amye Elizabeth Brewer of New Jersey, Karl Keenan Cluck of Beijing, Hannah Anne Bester of Cape Town, South Africa, John Marc Lively of Austin, Courtney Lively of Los Angeles, and Clinton James Lively of Bellingham, Wash.; and three great-grandchildren, Elliot Clinton Lively, Jane Katherine Brewer and Evan Michael Brewer.
James Hall Brillhart
SPEARMAN - James Hall Brillhart, 93, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011.
Private burial was in New Hope Cemetery in Hansford County. Arrangements were by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.
James was born Dec. 7, 1917, in Ochiltree to Grover Cleveland and Mary Cropper Brillhart. He was a grandson of Samuel and Amanda Brillhart, a pioneer family that settled in the county in 1886.
He graduated from Perryton High School and attended college at Kansas State College in Manhattan, Kan. He was a lifetime resident and farmer/rancher of Ochiltree and Hansford counties. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Borger.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter; a son, James Hall Brillhart Jr.; a daughter, Kathryn Louise; four brothers, Howard Brillhart, Grover Cleveland Brillhart Jr., Harold Brillhart and Charles Brillhart; and two sisters, Rowena Brillhart and Louise Pierson.
Survivors include two sons, Sam Brillhart of Amarillo, formerly of Perryton, and Grover Brillhart of Wylie; two daughters, Bess Sommer of Round Rock and Shelley Emery of Lubbock; two sisters, Mildred Trayler of Perryton and Kathleen Brillhart of Spearman; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Shirley Ruth Lamberson
GROOM - Shirley Ruth Lamberson, 87, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, in Amarillo.
Services were at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, 2011 in First United Methodist Church in Groom with the Rev. Weldon Rives officiating. Burial was in Groom Cemetery in Groom by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
Shirley was born Jan. 26, 1923, in Newton, Iowa, to Cornell Richard and Ruth Barton Knight. She married Ernest Walter Lamberson on June 21, 1940, in Clarendon. She had been a resident of Groom and Clarendon most of her life.
She enjoyed quilting and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Groom, where she was involved in United Methodist Women.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Feb. 14, 2008; a son, Stocky Lamberson; a sister, Clarice Steinkirchner; and a great-grandson, Zachary Vasquez, in July 2002.
Survivors include a son, Larry Lamberson and wife Vicki of Amarillo; a daughter-in-law, Aimee Lamberson of Panhandle; two sisters, Doris Slocum of Amarillo and Nelldean Bagwell of Gruver; five grandchildren, Renae Freeman, Melanie Lamberson, Todd Lamberson, Jill Hodgson and Lance Lamberson; and nine great-grandchildren.

Gwendolyn Beatrice Colquitt Younger
SPEARMAN - Gwendolyn Beatrice Colquitt Younger, 67, died on Tuesday, January 11, 2011.
Graveside services will be at Hansford Cemetery on Friday, January 14, 2011, with Mark Murray officiating. Interment is under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.
Gwendolyn was born in Madisonville, TX on January 14, 1943. She had lived in the area since 1966.
Gwendolyn married Jerry Younger on December 27, 1961 in Houston, TX. She received her L.V.N. from Frank Phillips College in 1996, and retired in 2004.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Younger of Spearman; three daughters, Sondra Thomas of Spearman, Kimberly Stanley of Amarillo and Patty Wilkins of Amarillo; 5 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Joyce Colquitt, and a granddaughter, Tammy Backus.
George Allen Yancey
DAVIS, OK — Funeral services for George Allen Yancey were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Hale’s Memorial Chapel in Davis with Reverends Lewis Poole and Scott Wilbourn officiating. A private burial will follow at the Hennepin Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Hale’s Funeral Home of Davis, OK.
George was born on July 8, 1917, in Bailey, OK, to the late James Robert and Bertha Florence (Johnson) Yancey. He died Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, in Sulphur at the age of 93 years 5 months and 29 days.
George and Oleta Irene Carter were married on Dec. 2, 1939, in Hennepin, Okla.
George graduated in 1936 from Elmore City High School, where he was the Senior Class President and Valedictorian. He worked in the Hennepin area, as well as Spearman, TX, until he was drafted into the U.S. Army in March of 1944 where he served as an Army Medic in WWII until April 1946. After returning from the war, George began his career in welding and made his home in the Hennepin/Katie area.
In 1957 he moved his family to Borger, Texas, and in 1967 to Spearman. In 1979 he and Oleta returned to Hennepin where he lived until his death. George worked as a self-employed welder and in his spare time did carpentry work and was an avid artist. He was a member of the United Pentecostal Church of Hennepin.
Survivors include his wife, Oleta of 71 years; two daughters, Judith Hill and husband, Richard of Kingston and Sue Ellen Cyphers and husband, Robert of Hixson, Texas; as well as, eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
George was preceded in death by his son, Larry Yancey in Feb. 2002; his parents; and nine siblings, Jim, Porter, Frank, Johnnie, Pherbalee, Mary, Bessie, Alice and Ruth.
Livingston W. “L.W.” Rosenbaum
SPEARMAN - Livingston W. Rosenbaum Jr., 81, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011.
Memorial services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8 in Hansford Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.
LW was born March 13, 1929, at home in Hansford County to LW Rosenbaum Sr. and Anna Gorman Rosenbaum. LW graduated from Spearman High School and Texas Tech University, where he met his wife, Viola Wagner of Amherst. They married Dec. 21, 1950, and had celebrated 60 years together.
After they raised their family in Spearman, they moved to Marshall to farm Christmas trees, blueberries and timber. Upon retirement, they discovered warm and sunny Ajo, Ariz., where they enjoyed several years with Mother Anna and sister Shirley and her husband Charles Varnum. Upon returning to Texas, they moved to Clyde to better enjoy their family.
LW immensely enjoyed traveling in their camper and visiting his family and making memories with his grandchildren. He never lost his passion for agriculture and pursued several ventures.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three children, Teddy Lee, Everett Andrew and Karen Diane; and a sister, Delores Ann Rodolph.
Survivors include his wife, Tot; a son, Kelly and wife Fredda (Bedford) of Abilene; a daughter, Vicki and husband Randy Collard of Bainbridge Island, Wash.; a sister, Shirley and husband Charles Varnum of Costa Rica; and her precious grandchildren, Lee W. Rosenbaum and wife Catherine (Deming) of Abilene, Ada Lynn (Rosenbaum) and husband Mike Warren of Washington, D.C., Megan R. Collard of Cincinnati, Matthew S. Collard of Seattle; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Beverly S. Boone
Beverly S. Boone, 75, passed away on January 4, 2011 in Amarillo.
Graveside services were at 11 a.m. Friday, January 7, 2011, at Indian Creek Cemetery in Mineral Wells, with Pastor Guy Weathers of Indian Creek Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.
Mrs. Boone was born February 10, 1935 in Mineral Wells, graduating from Mineral Wells High School in 1953. She married her high school sweetheart, Herman Boone, on December 26, 1953 in Mineral Wells. She had been a resident of Miami since 1983. Beverly was a member of the Red Hat Club and was a Baptist. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Lim and the staff of Texas Oncology, as well as the nursing staff of Northwest Texas Hospital for their loving care.

Luvinia Lee Howard
BORGER - Luvinia Lee Howard, 80, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011.
Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 10, 2011 in The Garden of Beatitudes in Westlawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Robert Hensley, pastor of Bunavista Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements were by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Mrs. Howard was born Sept. 4, 1930, in Hansford County to Foster and Mamie Hughes. She worked as a waitress at several restaurants.
Survivors include a son, Walter Allen Howard Jr. of Amarillo; two daughters, Rita Bridges and Paula Schaffer, both of Borger; a brother, Alfred Hughes of Broomfield, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Rosa Lee Logsdon Hale
AMARILLO - Rosa Lee Logsdon Hale, age 88, of Amarillo, formerly of Dumas, died Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, at Craig Methodist Retirement Center in Amarillo.
Memorial services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd. in Amarillo with Pastors Bob Crass and Heath Hale officiating. Private burial was in Atlanta.
Mrs. Hale was born June 21, 1922, in Nash, Okla., to Josiah S. Logsdon and Lyda Waterbury Logsdon. She lived in Nash, Enid, Okla., and moved with her family to Hitchland in 1931. There her father managed a grain elevator buying land, becoming a farmer, and drilling gas wells.
Moving to Guymon, Okla., she graduated from high school in 1940. She attended Panhandle A&M College majoring in music and performing in the College Girls Trio. In 1944, she married William "Bud" Washington Hale living in Colorado, Hitchland, Hansford Panhandle Pipeline Station, and then Dumas for 51 years. They moved to the Craig Methodist Retirement Center in Amarillo in July, 2006, where they lived in a cottage for two years before moving to the Craig Windflower Nursing facility at the end of 2009.
In Dumas, Mrs. Hale was Children's Choir Director and Choir Director at First Methodist Church, Choir Director at Hunt Memorial Methodist Church, a soloist in the church choir, and a substitute teacher in the Dumas School System. She will be remembered for her music service, creating a Christian home, her beautiful voice, her cross stitch pictures and scrapbooks, and her gardens, particularly her beautiful roses.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Rex Logsdon and Jimmy Logsdon.
Survivors include her husband William "Bud" Washington Hale; daughter Sandra Hale of Atlanta; son Ted Hale and wife Shery of Poquoson, Va.; grandchildren Walter Dawson and wife Shizuka of Tokyo; Colby Hale and wife Brittany of Orlando, Fla.; Heath Hale and wife Kristen of Knoxville, Tenn.; and Elizabeth Pritchard of Atlanta; great-grandchildren Dean Dawson of Tokyo, Owen and Elizabeth Hale of Knoxville; and her brother Bill Logsdon and wife Juanita of Gruver.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday evening.

Maylynn Eleanor Schubert Ayres
SPEARMAN - Maylynn Eleanor Schubert Ayres, 90, died Sunday, December 26, 2010.
Services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2010 in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tony Bailey officiating. Burial was in Hansford Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.
Mrs. Ayres was born Feb. 16, 1920, in Lineville, Iowa. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church in Spearman.
Survivors include a son, Burton Schubert of Spearman; a daughter, Marilyn Groves of Greenville; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Brian Gregory Lair
AMARILLO - Brian Gregory Lair, 27, passed away on December 17, 2010 in Amarillo, TX.
Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Hillside Christian Church with Johnathan Mast officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Brooks Funeral Directors. Private interment was at Dreamland Cemetery.
Brian Gregory Lair was born December 30, 1982 in Amarillo to Greg and Marshi Lair. He graduated from Canyon High School in 2001 and then from Northwood University in Michigan in 2005 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive and Retail Management. He also graduated from the National Automobile Dealers Association Academy and furthered his studies in the automobile industry with GMAC in Michigan and with Toyota in Germany. After graduating, Brian spent time in the Dallas area learning his trade in the automobile industry in preparation of becoming a partner with his father at Greg Lair Buick GMC. He and his father became partners in 2007.

On September 4, 2010 Brian married the love of his life, Shea Lowe, in Gruver, Texas.
Brian’s passions were snow skiing, drag racing with his Dad, and God.
He was a member of the Red River Ski Team, Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, Spirit Wind, and Hillside Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, A.W. Lair and Bobbie Clark.
Survivors include his wife, Shea; parents, Greg and Marshi Lair, of Canyon; sisters, Melissa and Abby Lair; grandmothers, Winnie Fred Lair, of Canyon, Bettye Clark, of Amarillo; a host of loving uncles, aunts, and cousins; parents-in-law, Buddy and Marsha Lowe, of Gruver; brother and sister-in-laws, Chip and Cori Cox, of Fort Worth, Aaron and Bryn Weller, of Gruver; and four very special nieces and nephews, Chloe and Campbell Cox, and Cooper and Beck Weller.
