Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Burial: Greenwood Memorial Park.
Edwin J. Luedtke Sr. was born June 4, 1910, in Fort Worth. He was retired from General Dynamics. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fort Worth. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorene Luedtke.
Survivors: Sons, Edwin J. Luedtke Jr. of Dallas and Ron Lee Luedtke of Galveston; and grandchildren, Ronald Lee Luedtke Jr., Robert Luedtke, Matthew Edwin Luedtke, Benjamin John Luedtke, Kristin Elaine Luedtke, Gretchen Luedtke Walsh and Erika Nicole Luedtke.

FORT WORTH -- Edward A. Luke Sr., 85, a retired family practice physician, died Thursday, July 31, 1997, at home.
Memorial service: 11 a.m. Monday at St. Luke's in the Meadow Episcopal Church.
Memorials: UNT Health Science Center/TCOM Foundation or Longhorn Council, BSA-Memorial Fund or East Side Regional Library.
Edward A. Luke Sr., M.D., was born Aug. 2, 1911, in Louisiana. He graduated from the University of Illinois and earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois Medical School in 1937 and was a resident at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. He served as a major in World War II in the Army Air Forces in the Pacific. He entered private medical practice in Seattle, Wash., before moving his practice to Fort Worth in 1952.
He devoted his practice in east Fort Worth for the next 44 years to the many families he cared for, delivering hundreds of children who grew up in the Fort Worth area, before ending his medical career after 59 years in January 1996.
He was a charter member of the American Academy of Family Practitioners. He served on the board of the Longhorn Council, BSA, and was honored with the Silver Beaver Award for his dedicated service. He served on numerous other community and medical society boards. The Tarrant County Medical Society named their athletic trainers scholarship in his honor for the many nights he spent covering Fort Worth high school football games to care for injured youth.

Luke Jr., D.O., of Fort Worth, Robert and his wife, Elaine Luke, of Arlington, and Charles Luke and his wife, Lory Garrett, of Gilbert, Ariz.; daughters, Marjorie and her husband, Sam Dick, of Fort Worth and Lezlie and her husband, James Peterson, of Castic, Calif.; sisters-in- law, Mary B. Garrard of Fort Worth and Margaret Ann Swearingen of Austin; niece, DeLee and her husband, Joseph Walker, of Fort Worth; six grandchildren; and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews.

COLLEYVILLE -- Paula Marterie Moore, 75, passed away Friday, Aug. 1, 1997, at home.

Paula Moore, the daughter of Robert Grover and Maude Craft Grover, was born on Jan. 21, 1922, in Doxey, Okla. She married Ralph Moore on Dec. 31, 1953, in Sentinel, Okla. They lived in Delhi, Okla., from 1953 through 1971, then in Denison, Texas, until 1978 when they moved to their present home in Colleyville.
She was a genealogist and patriot active in the following organizations: Capt. Nathaniel Mills Chapter NSDAR, Hon. Philip Livingston Chapter NSDACC, Oklahoma Chapter UDC and was a charter member of the George Wells Chapter USD-1812.
Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Robert Duane Grover.
Survivors: Husband of 43 years, Ralph Moore of Colleyville; daughters and sons-in-law, Nickey and Dale Bunch of Brock and Lawon and Lee Bonham of North Richland Hills; granddaughters, Vickie Bonham and Martisha Trester; grandsons, Ronny Bonham, Charles Fairless and Dwayne Bunch; six great- grandchildren; two nephews; one niece; and many friends and loved ones.

FORT WORTH -- Carolyn Rose Gernsbacher Rayel, 74, a homemaker, died Tuesday, July 29, 1997, in a care facility in Dallas.

Carl Simpson was born Nov. 13, 1912, in Gorman, the son of the late Thaddeus P. and Bertie Curtis Simpson. He married Mina Mae Jones on July 16, 1937, in Throckmorton. Mr. Simpson was a farmer in Crosbyton for many years. He moved to Graham in 1954. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Graham.

BENBROOK -- Joyce M. Taylor, 61, an educator, businesswoman and homemaker, died Thursday, July 31, 1997, at her home after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer.

Marilyn Joyce Taylor was born April 15, 1936, in Tampa, Fla., to Gladys and Carlyle L. Moore Sr. She graduated from Hillsborough High School in 1954. She married Earl A. Taylor of Tampa in 1956 and worked as a bookkeeper to help put her husband through college. She moved with her family to Fort Worth in 1966. She returned to school and received her bachelor's degree in special education from TCU in 1970. She taught special education for 12 years for the Fort Worth school district at Sam Rosen and Wycliff elementary schools. Joyce began J-Tex Computer Services in 1982 and in 1987 became the owner of The Book Shoppe on West Berry, which specializes in used and rare books.
She was a member of the Book Ladies' Club, a group of women involved in writing, publishing and selling books. She was a devoted member of Western Hills United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir, served as an MYF sponsor and taught Sunday school. Joyce loved camping, singing, sewing, quilting, painting, rock-hounding, bird- watching and letter-writing. She was an avid camper and shared this love with her family, touring the United States and exploring the natural and historical wonders of this land.
Joyce was a loving wife and mother, a good friend and an honest and hardworking businesswoman. She will be sorely missed by her family, friends and customers.
She was preceded in death by her father, Carlyle L. Moore Sr., and her mother, Gladys Jenkins Moore.
Survivors: Her husband, Earl A. Taylor of Benbrook; daughter, Elaine R. Taylor of Fort Worth; son, Douglas E. Taylor of Arlington; and brother, Carlyle L. Moore Jr. of New York.
