Maurice Emmit Harris was born Oct. 12, 1929, in Ore City, Texas. He was a graduate of I.M Terrell High School. He was an honor graduate of Texas College of Tyler as a social science major. He was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity. He retired from the postal service after 38 years of service.

Nellie Hinckley was born Aug. 14, 1908, in Binghamton, N.Y. Mrs. Hinckley was a member of the Friendship Freewill Baptist Church.

FORT WORTH -- Lorene Howell, 83, retired co-owner of Howell Feed Store, died Sunday, July 27, 1997, in Arlington.

Lorene Howell was born March 12, 1914, in Dunlap, Iowa.
She graduated from Christian College in Missouri and taught 4th grade for eight years in Dunlap. She met Bill Howell while attending graduate school at UCLA. They were married 55 years.
A loving wife and mother, she will be remembered and cherished as being very active in serving the Lord and caring for others. Lorene and Bill delivered Meals on Wheels for 10 years.
She inherited the gift of music from her mother and played piano for the youth choir and was an active member of Handley United Methodist Church. Longtime patrons of Howell Feed Store will remember her expertise regarding gardening and flowers as well as her cheerfulness and quick wit.

BURLESON -- Alfred Edwin King, 79, retired owner of A. King Floor Company, died Wednesday, July 30, 1997, at a Burleson nursing center.

Alfred Edwin King was born Sept. 18, 1917, in Tarrytown, N.Y.
He had been a resident of Burleson for 35 years. He was a member of Trinity Church of Burleson, where he served as deacon, elder and chairman of the Missions Program. He was an accomplished trumpeter and enjoyed model trains. He was a flooring contractor for more than 40 years, retiring in 1987.
Survivors: Wife of 55 years, Grace B. King of Burleson; son, Alfred Henry King of Golden, Colo.; daughters, Grace Miriam Cannon of Golden, Colo., and Ethel Ruth Miles of Burleson; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. -- O.J. King, 70, who designed and constructed natural gas processing facilities, died Saturday, July 26, 1997, at a Grand Junction hospital.
Memorial service: A Memorial Eucharist of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon Saturday, Aug. 2, at All Saints Episcopal Church, 5001 Crestline Road, Fort Worth, Texas. Honorary pallbearers: Harry Dean, Robert Maulsby, Ray Hudson, Dick Rowe, Ken McKinney and Mike Lightfoot.

O.J. King, the son of Oscar John and Dorothy Cox King, was born Sept. 29, 1926, in Lamesa, Texas. His childhood was spent in Iraan, Texas, where he graduated from high school and was a member of Iraan Lodge A.F. and A.M.
Attending Texas Tech in Lubbock, he later served in the U.S. Air Force. An avid, interested flyer, he and his father at one time operated the airport in Iraan. In Odessa, he was a supporter of the Odessa High School Booster Club and Boys Club. During his career in the oil and gas industry, he designed and constructed natural gas processing facilities, maintaining residences in Iraan, Odessa, Marble Falls and Grand Junction, Colo., and was associated with Permian Corp. and Occidental Petroleum Corp., and was the C.O.O. of North Star Gas Co. Inc., officing in Grand Junction, Colo., and Houston, Texas.

Edwin Luedtke Sr. was born June 4, 1910, in Fort Worth. He worked for and retired from General Dynamics. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Fort Worth.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorene Luedtke.

SEYMOUR -- William Bruce Reid, 86, retired from the Mobil Oil marketing department, died Wednesday, July 30, 1997, at a Seymour nursing home.
Graveside service: 3:30 p.m. Friday in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth. Rev. Dan Martin will officiate.
William Bruce Reid was born March 12, 1911, in Lingleville in Erath County. He married Florene Robertson on Oct. 29, 1933, in Barton. She preceded him in death on June 29, 1993.
He was a member of Red Springs Baptist Church and Fort Worth Masonic Lodge No. 942 A.F. and A.M. He retired from the marketing department of Mobil Oil. He had also worked for Childress Oil Co. He had been a resident of Fort Worth for more than 50 years before moving to Seymour in 1993.
Survivors: Son, William Wayne Reid of Fort Worth; daughter, Syble Jo Reid Kisinger of Seymour; sister, Winnie Marie Northcutt of Pasadena; brother, Olin Harold Reid of Mesquite; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
