William Verdell Carrell was born Jan. 24, 1916, in Fort Payne, Ala.
He was a member of Mansfield Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Survivors: Daughter, Linda Ruth Johnson; brothers, Alfred Carrell and Charles Carrell; sisters, Doris Taylor and Francis Albright; grandchildren, Richard Johnson, Grant Johnson, Cody Johnson and Sarah Smith; 22 step-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; stepsons, Joel Bailey, Bill Bailey, Thomas Bailey and David Bailey; and stepdaughters, Linda Baldwin, Tamara Hunt, Lora Barrow and Sheila Schnauber.

Robert Cousin was born Oct. 2, 1931, in Slidell, La.
He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars and a member of St. Rita's Catholic Church.

ARLINGTON -- Ray Edward DeShazo, 66, an accountant, died Tuesday, July 22, 1997, at home.

Ray DeShazo was born Aug. 10, 1930, in Bradford, Tenn.

Nathan Hoyt Eudaly Sr.
FORT WORTH -- Nathan Hoyt Eudaly Sr., 84, a retired missionary with the Southern Baptist Convention's Foreign Mission Board, died Friday, July 25, 1997, at a local hospital.
Funeral: 3 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church in Crowley and at 1 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Grandfalls. Burial: Grandfalls Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Thompson's Harveson & Cole.

Dr. Eudaly was born in 1913 in Pecos and had lived in Fort Worth since 1988. He was the fifth and youngest child of Milton and Katherine Eudaly, West Texas pioneer settlers, who founded the First Baptist Church of Grandfalls. He graduated from high school in Fort Stockton and went to Schreiner Institute in Kerrville on a football scholarship. He graduated from Texas Tech in Lubbock in 1938.
He served in the Coast Guard during World War II and saw action in the Pacific Theater. Following the war, he graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a master's degree in 1948 and a doctorate in 1958. He pastored Good Will Baptist Church (Buena Voluntad), a Spanish-speaking congregation, while in seminary.
He and Marie, his wife of 47 years, served the Spanish-speaking world in Latin America, Central America and El Paso, side-by-side as missionaries 34 years. For 25 years, he was the Director of Worldwide Sales and Distribution at the Baptist Spanish Publishing House in El Paso. During that time, he established a series of warehouses throughout the Spanish-speaking world in order to assure adequate supplies of Christian materials for the congregation of Latin America and Spain.
Subsequently, he and Marie served as Texas area representatives for the Texas Baptist Children's home. Their work led to the establishment of Hearthstone, a short-term foster group home in Midland. He was appointed by the mayor of Midland to serve on the Public Housing Authority there.
Hoyt was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marie; daughter, Kay; brothers, Harold and Arthur; and his sister, Louise.
Survivors: Son, Richard Milton and his wife, Olivia; son, Nathan Hoyt Eudaly Jr. and his wife, Jean, all of Fort Worth; sister, Eleanor of Grandfalls; and eight grandchildren, Autumn Dawn Eudaly Galbreath, MD, Daryn Eudaly, Dustyn Eudaly, Debra Eudaly, Dominique Eudaly, Paul Hart, Tim Hart and Daniel Eudaly.

Jere Grubbs was born April 13, 1939, in St. Louis, Mo.
He retired from Union Pacific Resources. He received a bachelors degree from St. Louis University and a masters degree from the University of Tulsa. He was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Bedford.
Jere was a loving husband and father and a loyal and trusted friend. Those who really knew him will miss his wonderful sense of humor. He was devoted to his family and was ever faithful to his God. He was a shepherd, a servant and source of strength and goodness and love. He will be missed, but his love and his goodness will abide in our hearts always.
