Kenneth C. Howard
ST. PAUL, Ark. -- Kenneth C. Howard, 90, died at his home in St. Paul, Friday, July 4, 1997.
Memorial service: was Monday, July 7, at Combs, Ark., Baptist Church.
Mr. Howard lived in Fort Worth from 1946 through 1976 and was a chief petroleum engineer for Fort Worth oil man Sid Richardson and later for the Bass family, until his retirment in 1971.
He was both an engineer and inventor and served as president of the board of directors of Goodwill Industries of Fort Worth from 1963 to 1964.
Survivors: Wife, Lillian Howard of St. Paul, Ark.; son, Bruce Howard of Aledo; daughter, Sandra Bittrick of Aledo; son, Kenneth Howard Jr. of Bethesda, Md.; four grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren.

Janet Kilpatrick was born July 15, 1919, in Roxton and had lived in Springtown for 30 years. She graduated from East Texas State University and taught for 38 years in Roxton, New Mexico and Azle. She volunteered at the elementary school in Springtown for six years. She was a member of Briar Church of Christ.
Survivors: Son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Cindy Kilpatrick of Springtown; grandchildren, Nicki and John Kilpatrick of Springtown; and two nieces in Abilene.

Ann Walker was born May 27, 1920, in Eugene, Ore., to State Senator Dean and Virginia Walker. She graduated with distinction from Stanford University in 1941. She worked for the Department of State in Foreign Service with the United Nations in Europe and the Middle East. She married David John Law in 1958 and settled in Southern Maryland in 1963 where they raised their family and lived for 31 years.
She will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors: Husband, David John Law; children, Jack, Doug and Dorlyn; grandchildren, Joshua, Benjamin and Gillian; and numerous nieces and nephews.

ROANOKE -- D.D. McLean, 70, president of McLean Auto Salvage, Inc., died Monday, July 21, 1997, at home.

D.D. McLean was born Jan. 29, 1927, in Cord, Ark. He came to Fort Worth in 1949, where he worked as a Maytag salesman. His slogan, he often laughed, was,"I Gar-ran-Tee You." Later he established a small car dealership and had been in business since then. He was a very honorable man and everyone loved him from all races and nationalities; what's more, he loved them.
He was a member of Texas Automotive Dismantlers and Recyclers Association, the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce and the Small Business Association. He was a World War II veteran and loved people, horses and animals. Friends are invited to call his business.

Mary Moore was born Aug. 3, 1911, in Verona, Miss. She moved to Fort Worth in 1941. She was a member of Arlington Heights United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Adrian C. Moore, in 1984, and a granddaughter, Sharon E. Moore, in 1982.

Frances Ruggles Morgan
FORT WORTH -- Frances Ruggles Morgan, 86, a retired Fort Worth school vice principal, died Monday, July 21, 1997, at a Fort Worth hospital from complications of diabetes.

Frances Ruggles Morgan was born Oct. 6, 1910, in Granite, Okla. She was raised in Kansas, where she received a bachelor of science in library science from Emporia State Teachers College. Later, she earned a master's degree in education from Texas Christian University. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth for more than 50 years. After her retirement from the Fort Worth schools, she helped set up the resource center at the church, in addition to enjoying her many handicraft pursuits. She was a member of the American Association of University Women for many years. She was a firm believer in equal opportunities for women.
Mrs. Morgan was preceded in death by her husband, L. George Morgan, in March 1949, and her eldest daughter, Georgia Morgan Lisk, on Jan. 28, 1997.
Survivors: Son, Philip D. Morgan and his wife, Sandy, of Fort Worth; daughters, Rosemary M. Freeman of Grapevine and Col. Marcia R. Morgan of Fairfax, Va.; grandchildren, Paul A. Jimmie Mundell
LAMPASAS -- Jimmie Mundell, a pioneer television news photographer, died Monday, July 14, 1997, at home.
A memorial service and celebration of his life was held on July 19 at the Mundell home.
Memorials: the family has requested that any memorials be sent to Friends of Hospice Highland Lakes, P.O. Box 840, Burnet, Texas 78611.
Jimmie Mundell was born Oct. 16, 1921, in Amarillo, and began his career as a photographer on the streets of Austin. He later worked for newspapers in Wichita Falls and Houston.
On Dec. 8, 1941, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he served as a combat photographer in the Pacific Theater. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
In 1948 he joined the fledgling television station, WBAP-TV in Fort Worth. Later as a freelance cameraman for all three major networks, his work led him from the riots of the 60s to revolutions in Central America.

Marilyn A. Swaim Myers was born June 1, 1937, in Tolar, Texas, to Crauford and Alpha Walker Swaim. She grew up in Tolar. Marilyn had been certified with the state of Kansas as a foster parent for 10 years and was a member of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Marilyn served as secretary of the PTO at Midway School in Bendena/Denton, Kan., and the Homemaker Extension Club in Bendena, Kan.
