Phil Dean Duval
HALTOM CITY -- Phil Dean Duval, 58, a carpenter, passed into the arms of the Lord on Monday, July 21, 1997.
Memorial service: 5 p.m. Thursday at Northside Church of the Nazarene.

Phil Dean Duval was born Dec. 2, 1938, in Dodge City, Kan., at the home of his grandparents, Frances Marion and Alpha Cunningham, to Alpha Bernice Cunningham and Phil Edward Duval. He was the eldest of four children. He graduated from Cullison High School in 1957 in Cullison, Kan. Phil was a Kansas All- Star in basketball.
In 1957, the entire family moved to Texas, where he lived the rest of his life. Phil Duval married Phyllis JoAnn Martin, daughter of John E. and Pauline A. Martin from Macksville, Kan., on Dec. 14, 1957, in Irving. From this marriage came three sons, Todd Michael, Brian Martin and Dennis Patrick Duval.
Phil was drafted during the Berlin crisis in 1961. He served at Fort Bragg, N.C. With the drastic drop in pay, he lost his first home in Irving while serving his country.
After he came out of the service, he re-entered his love of building. First, custom homes in the Mid-Cities, Dallas and Fort Worth. He joined Carpenters Local 1822 in the early 70s, helping to build high-rises in Dallas, Las Colinas and Addison and most of the major shopping centers, Dallas/Fort Worth Airport, The Sound Stage and Northeast Mall along with the old City Hall in Hurst.
The loves of his life where his family, home, fishing and his boats.
He was preceded in death by his father, Phil Edward Duval; brother, Ronald Edward; grandchild, Zoe Michelle; and nephew, Jackie W.
Survivors: Wife, Phyllis Duval of the home; son, Todd and his wife, Stacie; grandchildren, Torie Leanne and Nicholas Todd; son, Brian and his wife, Suzanne, of Fort Worth; son, Dennis of Bedford; mother, Alpha Bernice Duval Allen of Dallas; sister, Joleta, and her husband, James, and son, Shawn Roberts of Dallas; brother, Jack and his wife, Linda Duval of Dallas; nephew, Jack Jr.; nieces, Karen "Sissy" of Dallas and A. FORT WORTH -- Harold Ray Goode, 78, a retired Montgomery Ward employee, died at his home Monday, July 14, 1997.
Graveside service: 2 p.m. Thursday in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Dallas. The Rev. Bill Stephenson will officiate.
Harold Ray Goode was born June 10, 1919, in Greenville. He grew up in Dallas and graduated from Highland Park High School in 1937 and graduated from Southern Methodist University in 1941 with a bachelor of science degree in commerce.
During World War II he trained at the Naval Midshipmen's schools at Notre Dame and Harvard Graduate School. He served from 1943 to 1946 in the Navy with the rank of lieutenant in NACTU Fleet Air Wing Five, Key West, Fla.
He worked as merchandising manager at Montgomery Ward in Fort Worth, retired in 1983 after 36 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn E. and Gwendolyn M. Goode, and older brother, Glenn E. Goode Jr.
Survivors: His sister, Marjorie G. Cardwell and brother-in-law, Clarence E. Cardwell Jr. of Midland; nephews, William E. Cardwell of Newport Beach, Calif., Robert G. Sidney Holder Jr. was born Oct. 15, 1924, in San Antonio. He lived in Austin until 1941, when he joined the Navy. He served in World War II and was attached to the 1st Marine Division during the Korean War. He then lived in San Diego and retired from the Naval Air Rework Facility in Coronado, Calif. He moved to Grapevine in 1989. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Euless.
